Petsmart in general has really upped their shopping experience. They offer same-day delivery online, often for free. They also offer online orders for in-store pickup, and usually there are more coupons or discounts when ordering online than when shopping in person. I've done online pickup orders at multiple locations, but this Santa Ana location prepares them very quickly and usually has the best stock compared to other stores in Orange County. Another thing I appreciate is that Petsmart lets you return dry food as long as at least half the bag is left. My kitty, who has cancer, has been struggling to eat, and we've tried so many brands and types of food just to see what he'll take. It has been super helpful that Petsmart's return policy on opened dry food is so generous. For wet food, they won't take it back if it's opened. Keep it up, Petsmart! read more

This is specific to their grooming. The people here have SO much turnover and their care and costs are so inconsistent. We came here out of convenience and we had rude groomers who charge extra fees without asking, cause bleeding when over trimming nails, etc. The can't seem to keep the good groomers on staff. People won't talk about the birds at PetSmart because they're afraid. Everyone knows what a bird can do to a rat if it catches one. The dogs at this PetSmart were playing with people in a room; the fish were hanging out in big groups in aquariums; a gang of lizards lounged around--not the birds. The parakeets were the most troubling. On opposite sides of a huge, locked, sterile plexiglas box sat two parakeets. Not chirping. Not bobbing their heads. An eerie silence lingered in their cage. I wondered why so few parakeets, why the see through glass? Those parakeets must have done something to get put in there. I did not have the courage to get close to the parakeets. I quietly walked to the fish aisle, careful to keep one eye on the parakeets. The goldfish looked less sinister than the parakeets. They did not need to be in isolation, or imprisoned with a lock. I asked for 20 goldfish, and then I slipped out while the parakeets were not looking. read more

Worst place to take your pet I paid more than $100 just have my cat traumatized and sick. I usually give my cat a trim due to some sanitary reasons but I've been so busy so I thought it would best to take her here but damn do I regret it , I should've read the reviews first. My cat got so stressed and can't even eat without puking it up. The girl that did the grooming should really take some classes/training cause I'm not experienced and do a better job than she did. The girls at the front desk were very rude. I arrived at 8:45 for my 9:00 appointment, and one of them sent me outside with my little dog until it was exactly 9:00 AM. When I returned at 9:00--the actual time of my appointment--it turned out the groomer was running late and they didn't even know when she would arrive. Furthermore, the receptionist was extremely rude; she even treated my dog ​​roughly, snapping at me not to put him up on the desk--even though this place is supposed to be for pet services! If they don't like their jobs, they should find other work, because both girls treated me miserably, actually laughing at their own nastiness. Horrible grooming services, booked an appointment at 6PM a WEEK in advance for my kitty's brush and trim and I had some girl calling me day of the appointment to tell me "She needs more time to be dried so you can't come in at 6." Mind you I told the girl I was booking with IN PERSON AT THE COUNTER I work until 5 so I cannot do earlier than that. I kindly told her I can't come in earlier and they told me to either cancel or rebook. Huh??? LMAO. I took my kitten to the groomers at this PetSmart and they cut her! The ladies at the front were very loud and scared my kitten before the service even began. When I went to pick up my cat they did not inform me that they had nicked one of her toes until I checked that they had cut her nails. Her claws had some fraying and she still has some wet spots on her fur as they did not dry her properly. I will never be taking my cat here ever again! My kitten was traumatized and refused to eat properly a few days after the grooming appointment! Edit: The lady who did the work on my kitten was Marlyne G! She couldn't even figure out the price of the new collar, blaming her new system. Your new system is not my problem. Then she told me the number on my receipt didn't match the collar. I took it to another store, and they confirmed the numbers matched, saying she entered it wrong. It's disappointing that even after contacting her superior, I received no help. They usually have her prescription kibble in stock and I'm able to price match or use a coupon from their app to bring the price down further. The store is pretty clean and they make a good habit of cleaning up anytime a pet may have had an accident on store grounds. The employees were helpful in finding an ear medication and anti-itch spray for my dog. read more

Once it was my turn, the cashier asked if I activated my rewards/promotions on the PetSmart app. I said no, she told me to open the app and she began to help me activate them. And guided me on how to essentially navigate thru the app. She was awesome. I don't always post reviews, but this recent encounter (and my last) at Petsmart has left me disturbed and concerned for other customers and pets. I frequented their bathing services for both of my dogs. I scheduled the first appointment with Rose and that did not happen because she couldn't make it. They rescheduled me with Rose again for a different day. Upon my dog getting bathed she left them very dirty and still wet. I called in and spoke with a floor manager and had asked for a redo. They rescheduled with the salon manager which is also Rose. I wanted to reschedule with the previous salon leader Liz but they said she longer works there. I never had an issue until now and if this is the new replacement to run this entire salon department then good luck Petsmart but they need to reevaluate who would qualify for such a position. read more

DO NOT bring your dog to PetSmart in Santa Ana, California. I was told I was no longer welcome in their grooming salon because I wasn't happy with any of the groomers. Had a great groomer for a year but she left this salon. I asked for another groomer who was great at Yorkie haircuts. We got a bossy, know it all, with absolutely NO personality. Zilch! I gave her three chances to do as I asked like DO NOT, DO NOT CUT the hair around her ears. She cut my dog's hair and very short. When I called her on she blatantly lied and said "I didn't". My tongue was bleeding but I was kind and never raised my voice once and I gave her two more chances. She never followed any of my instructions. So I asked for a different groomer and though she didn't do exactly what I requested I still called to make another appointment. I was told I wasn't welcome in their salon ever again. They let that groomer go! I know without a doubt the second groomer had something to do with this. Had to be a whiny baby and talked to her manager who is the one that told her entire staff I was no longer welcome there. Manager made no attempt to speak to me on the phone, in person and never had the guts to call me. What happened to customer first and the customer is always right?? I am actually glad I don't have to interact with those groomers. Sign on the wall says they are certified but said nothing about following customers instructions! They are a complete joke and apparently the manager is just as dumb as her groomers. $63 a groom and a good tip. Not once was I ever unkind, spoke harshly, or raised my voice. Love this PetSmart. Been going here for years and got a new pup, Rogue and she's been acquainted with the staff. We take her for grooming and it's always a pleasant experience. Rogue being a large breed and somewhat intimidating never worries the staff. Lesly (sorry if I spelled her name wrong) up front is AMAZING. She's watched Rogue grow up and is the sweetest with her. Cat got scared of dryer (understandable), so instead of taking extra time to dry him with towels I was asked to pick him up. The service supposedly takes 2-3 hrs, and he was done in one. I wasn't offered neither discount nor apology for the half finished grooming. Then come to find out his (very expensive) flea collar was removed and I was neither called nor consulted. I wasn't given another one, or a discount to buy one. It's disappointing that care for the well-being of my pet isn't considered, or that there isn't any policy for how to dry off an animal that hates being wet if they can't be stuck in a dryer. Alex is passionate about what he does and can bond quickly with the dogs. He makes each pet parent feel heard by speaking with everyone individually at the beginning of class and reviewing any concerns and expresses concern by following up if you miss a class. He is willing to advise on topics that are not part of the course. We recommend him to other pet parents and will be attending the next intermediate class. 2. Went in with my two boys to buy new filters for our fish tank and was interested in purchasing a fish for our tank waited patiently for the worker to get off her personal phone then skipped us to help another customer finally acknowledged me and my boys and asked if we needed any help after watching her almost drop the other customers fish I let her know what fish we wanted to purchase then she let us know that fish was really aggressive and would grow huge (from the hand gestures I would say about 3ft) and that I would need a huge tank for it and it wouldn't be able to be with other fish.
