Talk about the best customer service ever! I am immensely impressed with this particular Petsmart's staff and their love and passion for animals. I can't thank the store manager Kerri enough for going above and beyond to resolve our problem. I also want to thank Rachel for taking the time to understand a concern from a customer's point of view, properly handling my call in the utmost professional manner, and also escalating the concern to upper management swiftly. You guys nailed it!!! Here is my story : I adopted a puppy from a rescue agency (TLC of IE) that was set up inside of this particular Petsmart a few weeks ago. Although the adoption/rescue agency was not part of the Petsmart corporation or umbrella, I figured that they were good people to adopt from. My puppy was only about 13 weeks old and had just had his 2nd set of vaccines prior to taking him home. Turns out that my puppy was not well, and had an existing parasitic condition prior to us adopting him. The third morning of having my puppy, he showed signs of being lethargic, no appetite, and diarrhea & vomiting. I attempted to contact the adoption agency around 8am. I continued to monitor my puppy until noon, and his vital signs worsened. With viruses like Parvo and other possible life-threatening illnesses, I wasn't about to take any chances with our new pup. All-in-all, I ended up rushing my puppy to the local Petsmart/Banfield Pet Hospital where I live. I left him with the hospital for Parvo testing and other necessary tests. Hours later, the doctor called me back and concluded that our puppy tested positive for Giardia and will prescribe meds and explained how it could have been contracted. I finally got call back from TLC of IE around 6pm (10 hours after I left them a voicemail, and while I was picking up my puppy from Banfield) and it was definitely NOT an appropriate time nor was it a phone call I had ever expected from these so-called animal lovers. I was basically given the runaround as to why the puppy may have contracted the parasite and unnecessary grief for adopting a pet too far from my home (should that even matter? DTLA to Riverside - 50 miles), that I shouldn't have panicked and took the puppy into Banfield where "they are really expensive" (although I was given a thick welcome booklet that recommends Banfield for all of our future pet health needs - also was I supposed to just sit there and watch my puppy suffer?), and that a reimbursement for the veterinary hospital bill is out of the question (even though I have yet to ask for any financial reimbursement). So instead of asking how the puppy is doing or was there anything they can do to assist me; all they offered was for me to drive 50 miles to go pick up meds and that Giardia is "no big deal". I have been worried out of my mind and running around all day, hoping that my pup will be ok, so do I really need to be on the phone with these people right now? I was in the waiting room at the hospital anxious to see and hold my puppy. You can only imagine the level of stress, anxiety, and anger that was building up for me during this time. I asked if TLC of IE would be willing to send me the meds if I paid for over-night postage thru PayPal or another form of payment - the answer was "No, sorry you have to come pick them up..." - WOW! Well, I basically ended the call, REALLY IRRITATED. I picked up my puppy, paid the vet bill, paid for the medication, and drove home. I was just glad my pup was going to be ok with 2 weeks of meds and a special diet. The next morning I contacted Petsmart's Corporate Headquarters. I explained myself and they advised me to contact the store directly to expedite this and explain what had transpired, so I did. This is where I had the luxury of speaking to Rachel, and within the hour, Kerri personally called me back. The rest is history. Both Rachel and Kerri promised me that they will follow-up and get to the bottom of this. As promised, they came through! I am very thankful for all your generosity and love for us and my new puppy, and we felt the level of care and service through all of this. My puppy is doing very well and we couldn't be more thankful that you guys made it so much easier to be a new pet parent. Customer service of this caliber is extremely hard to come by these days, and I am blown away! I am definitely a Petsmart customer for life after this experience! Thank you Kerri and Rachel from the bottom of my heart!!! ****** P.S. As for TLC of IE - EPIC FAIL! I have yet to receive a follow-up call from you since that day! Do you guys even care if the puppy is still alive? They carry Blue Buffalo and that's all that really matters. I took a star away for price. Yah I shop there for my German Shepherd dog who's more precious to me than any treasure so I don't "keep count" for his expenditure. However, there's no logical explanation for dog toys being priced anything over $10. I purchase the 20lbs bag of Blue for $56 every 2 weeks, but if you go online they sometimes have great deals where you can buy two and spend ~$46 each along with free shipping. Staff are always friendly and never fail to greet customers as they enter. They're also very helpful, which was a major plus for me in the beginning when I was in the "new dad, new world" phase. Overall, if you're looking for the absolute best for your pet, these guys probably carry what you need. ***Just a note to anyone who bothered reading this far. If you own a German Shepherd dog, I ABSOLUTELY recommend switching them over to Blue Buffalo. They're prone to hind leg failures and it's extremely common with the GSD breed. Blue has special food for large breed dogs, for both puppies and adults. Blue also packs there food with Glucosamine which inevitably helps maintain joint strength. Eliminates them having to go through the latter portion of their life disabled. Please, if you can afford it, make the switch. read more

Sent my Mom to pick up an oral syringe for the cat. My mom doesn't like interrupting people at their work so she wandered around for about a half hour and finally left, without the oral syringe. She told me they must not carry it. I asked her why she didn't ask for help, because i happen to know they carry that item, and she said there was no one on the floor. The one star isn't just for not having the syringes in a well marked area, they put them in with the dog vitamins (because obviously if you have a cat that is the first place you would look for an oral syringe in the dog aisle,) but because when i called the store to complain the manager called me a liar saying she was on the floor at the time and made sure to ask each person if they needed help. If you had asked each person I wouldn't have a sick cat with no way to give her medicine right now would I? read more

This is our first and last time going to PetSmart for their grooming service. First thing first, the groomer was late to our 12:30 appointment, if we was there 10 minutes early, we expect them to be there if not early, at least on time. Second, they told us that they will be done with our full service groom at 4:30 and would call us when we're done. We went back to PetSmart at 4 and waited by the grooming center. We waited, and waited.... And waited some more. We never received a call, and our groomer came out at least 5 times, notices us waiting but didn't say anything. We waited till 6. Annoyed and irritated we finally asked the groomer if she was done with our dog. I can't believe the response she said "Yea, he was done at 4:30" WHERE'S THE CALL MISS?! Nope! No call, no heads up, NOTHING. Lastly, we couldn't even recognize our dog when they brought him out. The hair was unevenly cut and the nails were not cut at all. It cost more than the local groomer that does a much better job. I love PetSmart for their variety of supplies they have to offer and the great customer service they have. I will continue to shop at PetSmart but definitely not for grooming. read more

I'm leaving 2 stars for the overall grooming experience I had here over the course of a few visits. I take my dog to the groomers exclusively to get his nails cut, because he hates when I cut his nails but is very calm when I give him a hair trim or bath at home. So I called Petsmart to ask if they took walk-ins for just nail trims and the lady who answered the phone sounded unsure but said no and that the groomers were booked out for over a month. I thought it was strange since a nail trim only really takes 20 mins or less but I said okay and hung up the phone. The next time I came in to Petsmart, about 2 weeks later, I was with my dog and asked the groomers personally if they were able to take him in for a nail trim today, and they said yes and took him in right away and did a fast and decent job which I was very happy about. However, the third time I took him in, the lady at the desk said they didn't have any openings at all that week, but to make sure, started clicking on her computer looking over what I'm guessing is their appointment schedule. She spent a solid 5 mins looking at her computer screen to the point where I was starting to wonder if she forgot about me standing there, until she eventually said she'd take my number down and call me tomorrow morning to try to book an appointment with me. I never received a call that next morning and decided booking an appointment with Petsmart wasn't worth the effort anymore. I really wish Petsmart had a better way of booking appointments. Before all these attempts of calling and going in in-person I checked their website and the only services you can book are full-on grooming appointments, nothing for just a simple nail trim. Unfortunately due to all the miscommunication and inability to book an appointment over the phone or online, I won't be back here again to have my dog's nails trimmed. read more

So my sister had purchased a bearded dragon about a month ago, she did so much research on how to care for it, bought all the right equipment and food and took such good care of it and just yesterday it died! She called twice to ask about if she should come by the vet within the 14 day window saying she had concerns over it not gaining weight or eating enough pretty early on and both times was told it was fine she didn't need to bring it in, now she is left completely heart broken over it's death! Ive always taken my dogs to our vets groomers but petsmart is closer which is even more convienient for me because its right next to my house i was a little nervous after reading the comments but i can say i am 100% happy i did stephanie was my groomer and my dog loved her as soon as we walked in she was gentle with her and stella came back so cute my dog is mixed poodle maltese and weiner dog so she has some crazy hair stephanie worked her magic i would deff recamend her and the persmart groomers stella was just as happy and playful after she came home next will be my 100lb police dog german shep give her a real challenge :) read more

Lynette from the grooming salon is awesome! :) I recently moved out of this area, but I wanted to leave a review for the customer service I have received here! My 5lb Yorkshire Terrier is very sensitive when it comes to grooming and he can't be groomed by everyone, but Lynette gladly cared after him just as I would! She would give me a call every 6-8 weeks just to see how he was doing and if I needed to make an appointment for him at all - thanks for the great customer service!! :) I'll miss coming here. My Dobie Cali went through beginning through advanced dog training classes here and loved them all. I loved them too. I highly recommend the classes here. We took classes with both trainers: Angela and Tiffany. They're both excellent. Cali learned so much during her time there. I'm really grateful for all the help both trainers gave us during and outside of class. The store also has a wide selection of doggie stuff. Can't say much about for other animals. Just adopted a new pet hamster from Petsmart the other day. Store associate Jessie was very helpful and answered all the questions I had for her. I had done a lot of research on hamsters before adoption day, and tested her with a few questions I kinda already knew the answers to... and she passed the test with flying colors. I love this Petsmart. I have a full household that I need to shop for. So this place is basically a one stop shop for me. The workers have for the most part been really nice and helpful. I had one bad experience, but it wasn't enough to turn me away from them. I love their wide range of selection of items for all my pets. Their prices are a little bit high, but it beats having to drive to 4 different pet stores. Their grooming department does a great job here. They are the only place that I know of that grinds nails instead of cutting them. On the plus side, TLC of the IE does their weekend adoption there. You get a new owners petssmart coupon book when you adopt. Also, if a dog trainer, he/she can help determine if a dog would be a good addition to your family if you already have a dog. read more

Brittnie in the grooming department and Tim the store manager were so incredibly helpful when dealing with my dog Puck, a very large American Bulldog. I took him in for a standard cleaning and Brittnie immediately embraced him with smiles and made him (and me) so happy. She then calls me shortly after and explains to me a health issue with Puck that I had known nothing about! If it wasnt for her I am not sure I would have noticed the problem. Brittnie and her coworker suggested a Vet for me to see and Puck was taken care of. Tim the store manager was also extremely kind and helpful during the entire experience. We've been taking our pups for grooming for over 10 years and have had kind groomers until lately. There has been turnover in staff and not as efficient. Since we were all stay at home since March, I received a 20% off coupon in Sept. for grooming which would expire on Oct. 5. I called for an appt and was told that no appts were available until Oct. 21. I booked a full service bath and haircut for my large dog and they could not fit in our second dog. I received a call today that I was 15 mins. late and I told her that my appt. was next week. She said no, it's today and stated that it was still ok to bring him in. Upon arrival, the groomer told me the appt. today was for bath only. I advised her it was for full grooming and bath and the original appt. was for next week. I did not understand why they called me a week early and also changed the appt. needs. She apologized for the mix up and said she could only bathe him. Since I had my 2nd dog with me, they were willing to bathe both - no haircuts. I asked to speak with the manager and I asked if he would honor the original request for full grooming since we were already there. He told me he was sorry for the mix up and since my older dog had a weak back leg, they would no longer serve us. My dog walks fine and just can't stand for 4-5 hours and they always used to give him a short break to sit during his long appts. The manager said they would only serve my small dog now. REALLY? I told him no thank you and that I would find another groomer for both my healthy pets. The manager was curt and seemed annoyed that I asked to speak with him. read more

Never shopping here again. Petco is way better bought Frontline plus for my Shitzu Iyah. Stuff didn't work so I back there with my receipt... They refused to give me my 61 bucks because my debit card had been replaced. Now debit cards expire get lost n all sorts of other things. Anyway. They would only offer store credit. I don't want store credit. I don't want to buy anything I want my money back. When I swiped my card it came right out of my account. If you want the best for your pet, then be prepared to fork out some cash at Pets Mart. I love the place, because it has everything for all pets, except horses. They allow you to bring your pet inside and they have a grooming center. I can't review the grooming, because I don't use them. Pets Mart also holds an adoption clinic for cats and dogs available to a good home. They have name brand cat and dog food, as well as any product under the sun. I can't leave out the reptiles, fish, and birds and all the available merchandise to bring them a happy home. Be prepared to spend a good chunk of change when you go to Pets Mart. You may want to include Pets Mart into your monthly budget. read more

I've been taking my dog to this location since I adopted him the animal shelter in 2014. I had to ask them to grind his nails instead of cutting them because they cut it too short & when I picked him up he was visibly limping. I had to ask them to give him something for the pain because he was uncomfortable. They've asked me to reschedule my appointment in the past so they could close early, which I did, but then I was asked to do so again & I just figured I've been paying too much for me to keep taking him since it seems that I have to schedule his appointment so it suits them. As long as you tell them to GRIND your pet's nails & bring your pet in the morning & not at 1:30 in the afternoon, you should be fine with this location. I'm not upset, just kind of disappointed that I've been taking him there for so long & I keep having issues. read more

I don't suggest coming to this location if you want good customer service. It's very cluttered and not very clean. Plus our cashier was very rude! She barely said two words and yelled across the store for one of the employees to take a phone call that she had picked up and he did take the call but, even after he told her he did she kept yelling for him to do it. She was just trying to throw her weight around! Also the chip reader wasn't working on the card machine and she acted as if it was our fault that their equipment was crap! It took about 7 tries for it to finally work! I wish I knew her name but she wasn't wearing a name tag. If any hire ups happen to see this she's the one that tapes her headset to her face ridiculous! read more

This is the second time I've brought my dog in for a groom and both times I've been very satisfied. The staff is really good with her and they always get her back to me in a timely manner. I asked for a groom ($40) and a flea and tick treatment ($19). I had an appointment and they took about two hours and forty five minutes. That's pretty fast considering there were several other dogs there. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is because my dog came home without a bandana (her ears are too short for bows). Half the fun of getting your dog groomed is the cute bandana that they come home in....and you're kinda paying for it as well. I mean, I did spend $60 on my dog. We have gone there for over a year and last appointment we took our two dogs there and were told that we did not have an appointment even though he has a confirmation on line. We expressed a concern since we had transport on Saint Bernard which is not an easy task. I guess They were mad because they up charged us on every thing. He said the corporate office only wants 1 cashier so other work could be done. You think they'd hire more people. The guy said there's less workers now & they e been open during the shutdown. If you want to spend almost an hour waiting, don't come here until they hire more people. read more

I literally spend half my life here. My favorite part is seeing and petting excited doggies in the store.

I brought my Pomeranian in for a bath and was convinced to add on the furminator service. That changed my payment from ~$28 to $48. With such a drastic change in pricing, I expected the very best. When I came to pick up my dog, the groomer (Ryan) did not shave my dogs pads, give him a sanitary trim or cut his nails. I did not know this prior to paying. Ryan had told me to pay first before he would give me my dog. Upon seeing my dog, I questioned why certain things weren't done ie the nails, pee/poo areas etc. he brought my dog back in for ten minutes and basically did nothing. When asked about the nails again, he said that they look fine (which they didn't, they were too long) and said if I paid more then he would do the grinding. I was so fed up that I left. I was not told about the policy where if I was not satisfied I would get my money back. I will never go back to this Petsmart and I would strongly advise that you don't bring your pets here. read more
