PetSmart is a national retail-store chain that sells products for cats, dogs, fish, birds, reptiles, and other pets. Products include foods, treats, medications, accessories, pet furniture, etc. Furthermore, PetSmart offers services such as a veterinarian, dog-training, and dog and cat grooming. For about 10 years, I have purchased products and services at this Petsmart. PetSmart sells many but not all of the name brands that my pets like, such as TidyCats, Purina, and Fancy Feast, and Temptations. Prices are average for a brick-and-mortar but higher than some online stores, but a rewards program offers some discounts. For dog training, this Petsmart offers the following group classes: puppy, beginner, intermediate, advanced, and tricks. In 2022, my English bulldog Olive completed the Beginner class, and in 2026, my French bulldog Daisy completed the same class. The trainer Sharon was absolutely excellent. She has decades of experience, and she uses positive-reinforcement techniques, which were perfect for my Olive who was shy, nervous, and physically ill and even perfect for my social and healthy Daisy. Sharon interacts very nicely with the dogs and their humans, and I consider her to be an expert in determining how to overcome obstacles in dogs' behaviors. In 2024 and 2026, I used this Petsmart's groomer for my cat Kira and dog Daisy. In 2024, I took Kira to shave off matted fur. The total price was only $15. The employee could have handled the cat a bit better (compared to my vet tech), but I felt thankful that she helped us. In 2026, I have taken Daisy here for multiple services, including shampooing, conditioning, ear cleaning, anal-gland expression, blow drying, nail trimming and grinding, teeth brushing, breath freshener, cologne, and bandana. Prices vary based on the exact service, but I usually spent $45-60 plus a tip. read more

I am heartbroken and extremely disappointed after my dog's recent grooming at PetSmart . I have trusted PetSmart with my Yorkie Poo, Kanan, and never had an issue -- until now. This time, a groomer I had never seen before handled my dog. Despite some mild matting (which has been managed properly in the past), they completely shaved off all of his body hair, left two legs uneven and chopped up, and his head was poorly groomed. It was clear there was a lack of care, experience, and professionalism. I have photographs documenting the results, and it is truly upsetting. My dog deserves better -- and so does every pet that enters your salon. PetSmart, you have lost my trust. I sincerely hope you take immediate steps to ensure this never happens to another pet or pet parent again. read more

This place was nice I have a 3 year old yorkie-poo named reesie. I've taken her a few places she has long curly fur, but usually when I take her somewhere else they cut her fur but they make her fluffy. Don't get me wrong she's still cute fluffy but when I brought her here she was cut short , curly and still thoroughly combed. I love it if I have one draw back its they told me it'll take an hour so I stuck around and it took more like an hour and twenty minutes. Well worth the extra time. Nice staff, never had a problem here. I got some lizards here and they are all healthy and active. They have a nice selection for lizard terrarium basking spots, reptile food, and beginner terrariums. The largest terrarium they sell for bearded dragons is 40 gallons, it is ok for juveniles. I will build a bigger cage for when he ages into adulthood, but the cages I got here work perfect for now. read more

I will NEVER enter this store again. I've spent hundreds yearly and now think I've probably been ripped off for years. I was there on Saturday and grabbed 4 bags of treats at $20 a bag. The tag said buy 3 get one free. Then I grabbed a squeaky toy and two tiny rawhides that were $2 each. The register only took off 75 cents. The cashier couldn't understand why it didn't take off $20 for the bag of treats so he called for his manager. The so called 'manager' who looked like she was about 16 years old, looked at the receipt and said I got the discount as it gave me a 75 cents off for one of the two rawhides. I told her that isn't what the sign said and in fact there was no sign where I got the rawhides. This girl couldn't have cared less and had a major attitude. Then another very young female employee walked up to the manager and starting talking to her about her break. The two started chatting back and forth about that while the cashier and I just stood there. These two immature girls were acting like such unprofessional, entitled brats that I suggested they go someplace private to argue with each other about break times instead of doing in front of customers. The one girl told me they could do what they wanted and also said if I had a problem with how they run their sales, I should take it up with the computer, not them. These two girls were so disrespectful that I was furious. I told the cashier to return all the products, give me my money back and I walked out. I'd rather have no employees than ones who treat customers badly and speak to customers disrespectfully. And I wasn't at all rude until they started arguing with me. BTW - these two were bickering with each other, while another associate stood and watched with two huge lines of people waiting. I guess their beaks were more important than opening up more registers and cashing out their customers. read more

We have been taking our yorkiepoo Matty here for over 2yrs now. He goes to Banfield for his vet appointments & we just recently got him groomed & we are thrilled w the job that Michon did!!! He has been to 3 different places and each place did a horrible job by just shaving him down which I specifically asked them not to do. Michon was very thorough w our consultation & took such good care of our lil boy! I would HIGHLY recommend taking you dog to get groomed there. We will be back! read more

This location wasnt stocked well during my last visit. I stopped in to get a Christmas outfit for my big ol pitbull (funny, I know. But shes my child haha). They had a ton of variety! Good luck with filling prescription dog food using online app. I went thru the whole order process, submitted vet authorization & was told it would take 7 days but once approval received from vet I would be issued a stored digital authorization card. I picked up the dog food, the authorization card was never stored and to reorder online I have to go thru the whole submission approval process. To reorder! Besides the inconvenience a 7 day wait & the necessity of going thru the whole process to reorder a prescription is for lack of a better word, useless! read more

I had bought a corn snake from the Shadyside location and the little guy was unfortunately prolapsed. I cleaned his prolapse and took him back to the store so he could be taken care of. I was able to get a different corn snake for the same discounted price. The staff at this location (let alone any PetSmart) is always helpful, knowledgeable, and eager to assist you. read more

We have ourselves a graduate! Our puppy graduated today:). The trainer, Bobby, was wonderful! We learned a ton and have implemented our learning into every day life. Bobby was knowledgeable and nice and knew his stuff. I would recommend puppy class for new dog owners and old dog owners as it taught us how to teach our Hugo basic skills. Awesome! read more

The PetSmart grooming salon representative at the Block Northway was very rude on the telephone and lied to me about getting my cats nails trimmed. I have gone there previously to have this service done and she told me "not to bother as they don't trim cats nails". It's funny that is part of their services online. I recently brought a little rescue into our family who happens to get eye boogers that are a battle to clean and pitch black nails that I won't attempt to cut. I had another local groomer do his initial groom (which he needed badly) but Petsmart sent me a $10 off coupon for a bath (which included other things my pooch needed) so I figured why not. When we got to the store my pooch was a trembling, shaky little mess and I could tell that everyone was... well, wondering how this would go. It went fine and if my pooch did growl or snap (like he does with me when I clean his eye boogers) the workers lied and told me he did great. He looked great, his nails were short (they way they should be) and he smelled wonderful. Did I mention he was happy? I'm sure that sometimes things go wrong, and while this service was just a bath, I will go back. Also, just throwing this out there... Our other pooch has long hair and (as he has gotten older, oddly) a fairly thick undercoat. He is not a candidate to take to a groomer, but when he gets a matted area we cut it out immediately. I think people need to realize groomers aren't magic workers and there is upkeep we need to tend to on our pets an a regular basis. read more

Bought a fish from here which we don't normally do, and it brought fin fungus to our tank and killed off about 10 of our pervious fish. We called to warn them and the employee on the phone gave us an attitude "well can you prove it came from us? We can't help you.." never did we ask for any type of compensation. A three or four for the store, a one for the location. You don't enter directly into the store, but you first go through a set of doors at the top of stairs or a ramp. This gets you into the mall. But there's nothing else in the mall. Petsmart is one of the last stores in a nearly empty mall. Its creepy as heck just going in there. read more

Nice store, but this past time I took my 1yr old dog to get groomed and he had a very bad experience. When we showed up the groomer pointed out he had some matting and that he would have to get a shorter cut than normal and I was fine with that. In the past he has had matting and they cut it out and that was that. This time I picked him up and when I got home I realized she had cut his eyelashes and his whiskers, which nobody has ever done in the past, and he had multiple razor burn marks and cuts under his chin and on his belly. He also seemed traumatized and had two accidents in the house which hasn't happened in SO long. He also didn't sleep that night after getting groomed and just walked around the room all night. It's a week later and he is still healing. I think petsmart needs to educate their groomers better and the staff needs to be upfront with customers when they might have accidentally nicked their pet. read more

This is my last trip to PetSmart ever! Today I took my dog into the the grooming section to get her nails grinned (filed) like I've done many times in the past. After the groomer was done and I came back and paid my bill, I was told that because my dog barked and acted "aggressively" towards other dogs that were there, it was their new policy to tell me that I was not welcome to bring her back! My dog has never bitten any person or other animal. Yes, she barks and acts aggressive at times. She doesn't like going there (however always behaves with any groomer that has worked on her) and is nervous to begin with. Add any other animals that are there no doubt adds to her anxiety. I had complete control of my animal when she was barking at these two other dogs! When you tell a customer not to bring their dog back, you are telling them to never visit PetSmart ever again! If you don't want to deal with animals that act aggressive at times, you obviously shouldn't have a grooming section or a pet hospital. Good luck PetSmart! You're gonna lose customers with this policy! read more

I take my dog into Petsmart almost every month, and get him the upgrade package! Spending 63 dollars on a groom is a bit pricey, but I'm willing to pay because I used to love how they treated me, and his grooming looked phenomenal. My boyfriend had dropped my dog off. So I picked him up, and when I did they told me my dog had already been paid for. Two days later they called to tell me that I need to come back to the store right away for no payment. I was very upset bc I they would not except any payment over the phone. There salon manager was on vacation so they wouldn't let me talk to any manger as I expressed my concern for how unhappy I was with his hair cut she then became more irritated with me. When I brought my dog back in to get him fixed the girl talked to me like I was a 5 year old! I'm an assist manger In retail and, you do not treat people as I was treated in that store! I had one of the worst experiences, and I will never go back there. I can't believe they are ok with loosing a customer that spends well over enough, and one that always brings there pet in consistently. read more
