My bearded dragon right before I adopted them.
    Jamie L.

Nice staff, never had a problem here. I got some lizards here and they are all healthy and active. They have a nice selection for lizard terrarium basking spots, reptile food, and beginner terrariums. The largest terrarium they sell for bearded dragons is 40 gallons, it is ok for juveniles. I will build a bigger cage for when he ages into adulthood, but the cages I got here work perfect for now.

I went in today to purchase bird supplies and was waiting in line when a customer walked in with a return and Sara checked on him before me. That was rude but will not stop me from coming back in there. Her manager needs to talk to her about proper customer service.

    Hugo is a graduate

We have ourselves a graduate! Our puppy graduated today:). The trainer, Bobby, was wonderful! We learned a ton and have implemented our learning into every day life. Bobby was knowledgeable and nice and knew his stuff. I would recommend puppy class for new dog owners and old dog owners as it taught us how to teach our Hugo basic skills. Awesome!

Just past graduation, having dinner out with my dog. Bobby brought Jake from "bark"y dog to preparing him for Canine Good Citizen. A million Thank Yous to Bobby Ledford for helping me turn my typical "Terror-er" into a very well behaved Terrier!

Worst and least compassionate groomer I have been to. Especially would not recommend for elderly dogs.

At that time the assured me that they would come for the scheduled days and send me pictures or updates regarding my cats. When I left home on Friday I left out 2 bowls of water and 4 dishes of food. Every day that I was away I received pictures and/or updates about my cats via text message. When I arrived home Monday evening (July 12th), both bowls of water only had water covering the bottom and the food was only covering the bottom of ALL 4 food dishes. I have left my cats alone for 2 days in the past, with no one coming into the home to check on them, with the same set up of food and water(2 water bowls and 4 dishes of food). After 2 days of the cats being alone in the past, all of the bowls would still be about 80% full when I returned home. That was not the case when I returned after 4 days away with people supposedly caring for my pets. There is no way that they were filling their food and water daily, like I had contacted for them to do. I was very disappointed, but decided to just pay my bill and move on. I recently requested my keys back and they informed me they would be sent back via certified mail and there was a $20 charge to mail them per our contract. The same contract that stated the cats would be cared for daily. Their audacity in asking for $20 to get my keys back is what prompted me to leave this rating. I normally do not write reviews, but I wanted to warn others who care for their pets as much as I do, to BEWARE OF THIS SERVICE.

She is so patient (with humans and dogs) and has a way of explaining things that just makes sense, to both of us. We worked entirely via Zoom, but I never felt like trainings were impersonal or unproductive. She's extremely flexible and really takes the time to understand your family, your pup and your situation and implement strategies that work best for YOU! And without any guilt trips for not doing things 100% perfect or "by the book" all the time - she's totally understanding of what it means to have a dog you love and a busy human lifestyle. I feel like I learned HOW to train Rocky as much as what to train him, which has been invaluable! Now I can apply what Heather taught me and make new progress on my own. Will definitely be coming back for check-ins now and again.

The quality of the appointment really depends on who's on staff that day--some visits go smoothly, others not so much. Our Shih Tzu generally does well, likely because of her small size, but our Great Dane hasn't always had the best experiences. It sometimes feels like larger dogs aren't as well-received, which is disappointing. One of the biggest challenges is the frequent staff turnover--it feels like a revolving door, and that inconsistency can affect the care. It's also often difficult to get in touch with someone directly, which can be frustrating when trying to schedule or follow up. That said, I'm glad they've recently added more veterinarians, which seems to have improved appointment availability. The pet care payment plan is pricey, but it does cover the essential vaccinations. Just be cautious--add-ons can stack up quickly if you're not paying close attention.

This Banfield hospital used to be very good, but the last 3 years it has really gone downhill. I…read morehave been using this facility since 05/2010 and didn't have issues until the last few years with my third dog. A couple of years ago, I had an incident where they were putting my dog under with anesthesia and something happened that he had a severely bad accident. The vet Tech Emily luckily caught the reaction and was able to get the vet to reverse the anesthesia and saved my dog's life. As a result of this my dog all of a sudden had a slight heart murmur and cannot be put under anesthesia again as it will more than likely kill him. Today, I took him in for a checkup and had a few concerns that I wanted the vet to check out on him. After several hours of him being there, in received a call from a Tech or the Receiponist with an update on my dog. I was told that there was an issue eitb his blood work where I could or couldn't get an expensive ultrasound for the possibility of a few different health issues and more importantly thar I could have one of my concerns addressed and have the fatty cyst removed when they put him under anesthesia to have his teeth cleaned. Apparently No one including the vet fully looked at his chart or read up on his history before they checked him out and called me. After they almost lost him once to a reaction to anesthesia why would you call the pet's owner and even been so out of touch to even suggest that you put someone's pet through a procedure that can kill them. I was very upset and just went to pick up my dog. I received a call from.Vickie the office manager while on my way there. When I expressed my upset I was given the explanation that the person who called me was new and mixed up pets and confused what she was to tell me. That only made the matter worse because I went put of my way when I dropped my dog off to point out that he was not getting a teeth cleaning and his issues with anesthesia. I told Vickie that I have lost all confidence and trust in their clinic and will just pick up my dog and that I did not trust anyone there to treat him NY longer. When I picked up my dog, I asked what i owed from the visit and the girl could not figure it out. I asked Vickie to ring me up and I was asking what I owed and we had a not so nice conversation when she started telling me about an ear infection then she got nastier with me and accused me of not willing to ket them make it right and refusing to listen to them or wanting to treat my dog. I will be contacting corporate and taking my dog to a different vet entirely. This Banfield no longer cares about pets or their customers. They are overbooked, try and upsale expensive testing that may or may not be needed and have. Huge turnover rate where you rarely seen the same vet and techs that actually know your pet.

I religiously check the…read moreingredients of the food that Gus eats, I wake up at absurd hours in the morning during the summer so his walk isn't too hot, and he has this crazy dog seat/throne in the back seat of my car so he can look out the window. You've all heard of helicopter parenting, yeah? It's a mess and screwing up today's children, but I'm totally guilty of helicopter doggie parenting. All of which is to say that I'm not going to drop Gus off at some random place while I go to work. Step 1 (which I think the other reviewer skipped/missed): call them and make an appointment. Taking a strange dog into a place full of dogs is a little dicey. Typically, new dogs are brought over on Saturday (when there are no other dogs around) so Barbara can get a sense of its temperament. Barbara is great with dogs and has a ton of experience, but I totally had the, "well, if my kid isn't good enough for them, screw them!" thoughts running through my head. Obviously, Barbara instantly saw the inherent awesomeness of Gus. Step 2: learn to let go. I don't have kids, but I imagine this is pretty much the same as dropping them off at daycare. The first few times, they scream and cry when you leave and you're left feeling like a terrible person for the rest of the day. Then one day, magically, they're excited to go to daycare (or Bow WoW) and they don't even look back while they're led away to the playroom. It's a bittersweet moment, but one can't help but feel a little proud. See what I mean about the anthropomorphizing thing? Bow Wow separates the dogs by size and organizes the day into blocks of play, rest, and exercise so the dogs don't get overstimulated, which can cause stress. The staff is excellent about communicating with owners about even minor changes in your dog's behavior and simply giving you updates about how your dog's socialization and adjustment. I think I spent the first 2-3 weeks asking, "Is he playing? Is he making friends?" on a daily basis. The entire staff was very good about humoring me. Gus loves it there (his radar triggers around 21st street and he starts to flip out in the car) and I feel safe about leaving him there. And honestly, when it comes to a doggie day care, that's all that matters.
