I decided to watch my dog on camera 3 via their camera feed. I watched as a staff member kicked a dog and grabbed another by the neck and threw her. The owner is curt/rude. He doesn't appreciate you giving him business. Hidden fees. The smell of cat/dog urine in this place is so so bad we had to step out for air multiple times. If you want an update on your dog be prepared to pay an additional fee! Dog came home with sores, and skin infection. read more

Just returned from vacation to be charged a bunch of hidden fees that have never been a part of boarding in the past. Have been using the Dog Stop Monroeville for about 8 years for boarding as well as retail purchases of dog food and other items. Have remained customers even after moving further away from the location because of the service that used to exist. Used to go here and know everyone by name and they all knew our dogs. Not the case anymore. If you're going to start charging for things on top of your ever increasing prices it is absolutely your prerogative. However, you would think you would tell people who have been loyal customers for years when policy changes happen. Especially when the dog stop website specifically still says things like medication and food are included. I guess it's time to evaluate other options as the service that once set JC and his team apart apparently no longer exists. read more

Milly loves the Dog Stop and so do I! JC and the staff are really wonderful and love dogs. They are very knowledgeable as well. Milly loves playing with her dog friends and humans at daycare. She's really tired out when she comes home. Milly has short hair so she doesn't get grooming but she likes the nail clippings and oatmeal baths. Megan does a great job. She used to groom my dog Hershey who passed away at age 15. She was a Border Collie mix and Megan groomed her to perfection. I loved her summer haircuts! It's always hard for me to leave my pets when I have to go away but I have the peace of mind that Milly is being well cared for. There is also a nice store there too. I've been purchasing Milly's food there lately as I'd rather support a small business than a big box store. So thank you Dog Stop for everything! You guys are the best! Milly seconds that! read more

My kids have too many legs, but they are handsome and strong. I take my Doghters to Dog Stop Monroeville because of the amazing staff. Everyone knows and loves my girls, so I can drop them off for daycare or boarding with peace of mind. If they are stinky- the baths here are affordable. If they are good- there are plenty of treats to choose from. If they need training- dog stop has that too. The food selection is excellent as they only offer high quality brands. The Dog Stop in Monroeville is a good place to board your pet. With their outdoor area and cameras, you not only feel like your pet is taken care of but you can see it. However, my rating is based on their grooming service. We took our golden doodle here to be groomed. They said that he had long hair and that they would be able to handle it and if they had any problems they would call. When we went to pick him up, he was shaved down to the skin and looked absolutely petrified. He had blood in all his paws from the nail trim and he was cut many other places from the shaver. The groomer handed over the leash and immediately went into the back room without saying a word. The manager handled the transaction and said that they tried everything. It is a shame that they offer services that they can't actual do. To top it off, they charged us $95. I will never bring my dog back. read more

I just had my dog at the Monroeville location for five nights and I must say I am totally disappointed. I visited this location before leaving her there and was pleased and assured that they would be able to give her the much needed medication for her heart. When I picked her up just yesterday I checked her pill box only to find that she only received 2 doses of the 9 doses of her medicine that she should have been given. Lili has a heart murmur and her heart is enlarging and she experiences a lot of coughing when she doesn't get her medicine. I was given an apology and was told I would receive a credit to my account which was never done. Something this important should not be overlooked. read more

I don't leave reviews but after all the positive experiences we CONSISTENTLY have with our dog coming here, I believe this is necessary because these negative reviews are incredibly misleading and you'll be missing out if you listen to them. We use the dog stop for day care and grooming services and they always exceed expectations. Four other groomers have failed to groom our puppy and these guys were able to deal with his fear of grooming and they nailed it. They also nailed the grooming despite these knots he had that were very close to his skin. He got these knots from a suit he wore when he got fixed. They were horrible and so hard to work out and he was so relieved when they were able to cut his hair! read more

I have only been there twice. I have to start by saying the staff is really great! They were kind and seem to really enjoy the dogs. Except for the girl who brought my puppy out today.When I asked for the remainder of his food I got an eye roll before she walked away to get it. (that being said, I have had worse happen to me) It doesn't seem to be the place for my little 5 month old dashund/Chihuahua mix. There were a lot of dogs! At one point in the morning I counted 12 dogs, 13 if I include mine, and some were off camera, which is over whelming for anyone. Most of the dogs were a lot larger than he is, they may still be puppies but they were much bigger than him. I may try again in the future, not sure yet. Im going to take him around to other places first. It does seem to be a great place for LARGE Dogs though. read more

I have never left a review for anything in my life, so please take that into consideration as you read the following: I do not recommend this daycare. The facility is absolutely gorgeous and the workers are very sweet, but both of our dogs were injured while playing here at daycare. One of the dogs is a 5-month old puppy and her injury was so severe that she needed an $1100 surgery. My other dog is almost 2 years old and he had a deep bite on his face that the daycare never even noticed. I found it when I picked him up and saw that his face was bleeding. The injuries occurred within 1 week of each other. Both times the workers explained that injuries happen at daycare due to the rough play, but I've been taking dogs to different daycares As we've moved for 3 years. We've never had our dogs injured until we brought our dogs here. It sounds like the injuries occurred due to lack of proper supervision, and this could be resolved by hiring more people. No one can tell us how either dog was injured, meaning there weren't enough eyes on the dogs. Also, it's important to note that my dogs have completely different temperaments--yet both were injured due to "rough play". Our puppy is energetic and friendly, and our 2 year old is mellow and also friendly. Please consider this when choosing a daycare. I hope they hire more people because we did enjoy taking our dogs here before these incidents! read more

Unfortunately, I have had a pretty awful experience with this establishment. I've taken my dog here on multiple occasions when I work 10+ hour days. I had no issue paying the fee as I assumed that my dog would have the opportunity to be able to play with other dogs and not be left alone all day. Additionally, they provide access to a camera in which you could check up on your dog. Unfortunately, I checked the checked the camera for cumulatively about 3 hours and never once saw my dog in the play area. When I called the dog stop to question them about this they told me that he was probably in a corner out of sight, which I accepted but asked them to go show me him on the camera. They quickly changed their story to state that he had been having issues with another dog and needed to be put in "timeout"(my words, not theirs). So, essentially I've been paying $26/day for them to put my dog in a cage when I can do that at home for free(i don't even keep him crated at home). All in all, this establishment has acted in a way that can be considered questionable at best. I do NOT recommend this establishment to any dog owners that are looking to keep their dogs active. With rave reviews, very clean and hours perfect for the working professional I brought my dog in. They make sure all pets are healthy and have the right attitude for the open play environment. I like that they are concerned about all aspects of your pet and not just after your money. (RARE) I have to note, that this staff makes this location successful. The dog stop Monroeville is FANTASTIC. I can't say enough wonderful things about the facility and staff. They always go above and beyond for my fearful, high anxiety rescue. They consistently ask what they can do to make him more comfortable, and they are more than willing to go above and beyond without charging for any of the additional hassle. We recently had all 4 of our dogs groomed here. We have two small dogs that need trimmed, and two larger dogs that received a bath and deshedding treatment. Mike is an awesome groomer and the dogs really like him. JC, the owner, couldnt be any nicer and bends over backwards to make sure everything is taken care off properly. They have a fabulous facility -- JC was gracious enough to give us a tour when he first opened. We will definitely be going back to the Dog stop with our furry kids. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE TO BE GROOMED!! The guy with the dreadlocks doesn't have a clue on how to groom a dog. My one dog had severe razor burns that got infected. She went to the vet and had to get a shot of penicillin and take antibiotics for 15 days. Her fur is just starting to grow back after 2 1/2 months. It's too bad because the staff IS VERY friendly. Did I go back and address this situation with them? NO. I'm afraid my temper would have gotten the best of me. read more

While this location is still very new I have dropped my dog of there for a half day, and again today for a full day of Daycare. While I can't comment on the training, dog walking, etc. since I haven't experienced them yet, I can say that what I have experienced has been very positive. After picking up my dog from there yesterday he was exhausted and just wanted to rest all day (which was welcome after coming home from a long day of work). My interactions with the staff have been VERY positive in both phone, e-mail and in person interactions. They went above and beyond to contact my vet to get my dog's records and take care of everything they needed prior to me bringing my dog there, saving me phone calls and time while at work. Once they had everything they let me know and bringing my dog there was as easy as letting them evaluate his behavior for 10 minutes to ensure his safety with other dogs. The price for all day daycare is personally a little steep for my wife and I to take our dog there every day while we are at work (I believe a 20 day package is around $400, but maybe wrong), but it is nice to know that the option is there for days when I am unable to make it home from work at lunch to let him out. I give it a 4 star review instead of 5 only because they seem to be wrapping up a little bit of construction and I haven't taken advantage of their training, dog walking, etc. services yet so I don't want to say it is perfect if I do not know. But I will say if the rest of their services are anything like what I have experienced so far, you won't be disappointed. read more

I've taken my dog to the dog stop in monroeville twice, once for day care and once for boarding, and we couldn't be happier with the care he received. I was worried about leaving him for boarding because we were going to be gone for 7 days and he's never been left with anyone other than family, but we decided to try The Dog Stop because it's much more convenient for us. The staff there is so nice and understanding that these aren't just pets, they're family and they treat them as such. I love love LOVE that we could get on their website at anytime and check in on him with their live Pup Cams, which really helped me relax and know that if I ever was concerned, I could just jump online quickly and sneak a peak at him (and everytime I was relieved to see that he was happy and being taken good care of). When I picked him up at the end of our vacation, I got a full report on how he did and they even washed and dried his bed and blanket that I left with him. They were super considerate of all of his special needs (allergies, daily meds, special diet etc), and they made sure he got everything he needed right down to the bag of treats I took with him. He honestly loved being there.. I don't think he even noticed we were gone. We'll definitely be using the Dog Stop in the future! read more

I've been taking my dog, Tonka, here since I got him when he was 8 weeks old. I can't say enough great things about this place. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and caring and you can tell they really do love dogs. I called them out of desperation to find a dog sitter for my puppy and now we go there for everything! They have really competitive pricing for dog grooming and boarding. And I can't find the dog food we use cheaper anywhere else!
