This was my 1st time using this Petsmart. I got my small dog groomed. I provided a picture. Suzy H was terrible. Her attitude was terrible. I have a white dog with tear stains. I've been getting him groomed a long time. I know what a freshly groomed face looks and smells like. Photos 1&2 show Petsmart 6/1/25. Third photo shows groomed in the past by another place. I expressed to the manager I was not happy with his face. He said grooming was not his expertise, therefore we went to speak with Suzy. She was condescending, as if I don't know that tear stains can't be removed easily, and as though that were the problem. He looked and smelled as if nothing was done to his face. Worst money I spent on a groom. Don't use them for the manager's response and a groomer that looks as if she hates her job and the customers. Bye Suzy H.! Update...customer service is just as bad. They promise to get back to you in 48 hours and never did. I guess that's why the groomers and managers are as bad as they are. I will spend my money else where. Sorry my dog had to endure this. I should've known better. My softcoatrd Wheaten needed to be cut but she wouldn't let me do it so I took her to PetSmart. They told me she was matted in spots and made me sign a waiver. I guess that means they were in to clear to just hack her up. They shaved down everything til some spots were just bare skin. She looked awful. They didn't even try to groom her. Never again! Unless you want your dog to be almost hairless, go somewhere else. read more

I don't recommend the grooming service at this location . I take some of the blame for not telling them excitedly what I wanted done and how, I sadly and incorrectly assumed they were professional groomers with year's experience, I was wrong, They hacked up my Bernadoodles hair, leaving clumps of uneven hair all over him. Yes, . He was matted, but they took all of his hair too short that he could possibly get a skin irritation, or sunburn. They took his whiskers that weren't mated, his ears and paws. I will never return to this location nor suggest it to family and friends. I might be the exception and others might find them great for their needs, but not mine. It's too late to do anything about it now, only warn others of my experience. I will be looking for a professional in the future with papers to prove their professional training. read more

Took my dog here after I set up for her to stay 4 days overnight and I gave them all information about her health and they told me it was all set up so I brought her and then the rude lady at the desk told me she "unfortunately" can't stay because she doesn't have a medication. Well somebody miscommunicated all of this because I told them SHE DOES NOT TAKE A MEDICATION. Everyone should know protocol so my time isn't wasted. And this place is a waste of time! read more

We've have been customers at Petsmart grooming for years and until now have been very pleased but they have lost us as customers Within 48 hours we got an email they cancelled our senior dogs appt, a text asking if we wanted to preregister our dogs for their appt and a voice message telling us our groomer no longer worked there and do we want someone different! We were scheduled 6 weeks ago and all 3 messages said something different! Our dogs our elderly and their groomer Janice was wonderful with them ! It appears they don't have their act together with all their different messages so how would they be with my dogs! So disappointed in this store ! Customer service and communication on appointments (Giving all information) I set up an appointment last week for my both dogs. First time coming. Once I arrived I needed my shot records. Great but could have been told that prior. I don't know all the laws but educated myself after the bad experience. They said they could call the vet, unfortunately they weren't open on a Saturday. Big inconvenience and nasty tone from the counter lady checking us in. I will support a local business before ever returning here. The communication and customer service was the worst. How it was handled and shrugged off instead of getting a nasty tone the said person could have explained the reason and offer to push back or time. She just was too cocky for no reason. read more

PetSmart is A-ok. We recently took our newly adopted cairn terrier, Bella here to be groomed. She was quite the wiry mess having never been groomed in her 6 years of living. Now I have in the past used them to groom our Chihuahuas but now we usually just do their grooming at home as they are older and don't really like leaving the house much. I was always pleased with the work they did on my chi's so I anticipated they wouldn't have any issues with our new dog. We made the appointment for a Friday morning that my husband was scheduled off from work. He dropped her off and they called earlier than expected for a pick up. They were supposed to give her the works, you name it I asked for it. Unfortunately her salon day was not relaxing to her in the least bit. They were unable to groom here completely citing that she was very agitated and tried biting at the scissors/clippers and attempting to roll off the table. They told my husband to bring her back on a less busy day to finish and did not charge him. So we returned on a Tuesday evening to have the rest of her body shaved. We dropped her off and headed to Home Depot to pick up a few things. We were standing in line to check out when they called to say she was ready. When we got back to the store she basically looked the same. They did finish trimming her legs but her neck, face, and head were shaggy as could be. I must have beamed disappointment as they were pleading their case that she was again agitated and they could not finish. I inquired about using a muzzle, but they said they do not and will not use them. I am not an animal groomer but I think I would use one for my safety and the safety of the pet. They stated several times that she tried to bite the scissors and they could have cut her tongue. In the end they reduced the price since they didn't complete the work. They were all very nice but I would have to think there are other animals out there that aren't perfect when it comes to grooming. So they should be capable of handling those situations. We have used PetSmart before for our Chihuahuas. This time we just adopted our dog Bella and we she never got groomed before. She was just tied to a box outside for 6 years before she got rescued. She really needed groomed and we couldn't wait to get her here. Of course you have to have your paperwork for rabies documentation before they can groom her. We finally got that and brought her in for an appointment. We walked in and went over what they were going to do with her. I got a package for her to get buzzed, bathed, teeth brushed, and nails clipped. I told them that this was the first time she was ever groomed so they took that into consideration. They told me it would probably take about 3 hours. About a hour in a half later they called to let me know that they did what they could. Since this was her first time she didn't feel comfortable. She would do a alligator roll to try to get off of the table and being strapped. They still were able to bath her, clip her nails, teethe, and shave about half of her. They couldn't get close to her head they said. They told me I could bring her back during the weekdays when it is slower so that they could try it again. That was nice and they didn't charge me yet too. So we brought her back Tuesday and they shaved the rest of her but they said Bella still wouldn't let them get close to her head. They gave us some tips to work with her to get her used to clippers around her head. They said she was really a sweetheart and I could tell that they cared. So her first grooming didn't go great but I feel like the service was really good and we will be back to try it again in a few months. read more

This is a review of PETSMART REWARDS program- not the Monroeville location which is excellent. I spend at least $100 there a week on my pets ( I have several). I can no longer access my Treat Rewards because I do not have a cell phone or printer. I don't need or want a cell phone. The arrogance of Petsmart Corporate to change this policy is totally unacceptable. I am basically throwing away money because this. The store manager told me to write down the bar code number so they could manually enter them but is that not a PIA? It should be immediately available to the cashier like it used to be. This Petsmart has a nice clearance section. I hardly ever see things on sale at most Petsmart This store also has a vet hospital, cats for adoption through the humane society, training and a PetsHotel. The hotel is for dogs or cats. They offer normal kennel boarding for $30 a night. For $10 more, you can upgrade to the suite. It is away from other dogs so its more peaceful. It also has a cot for the dogs and a TV that plays Disney movies. Additional add-ons can be added to kennel or suite options such as 1 on 1 play time, dog sundae, Kong toys, spa treatments (aka a bath) ect. Our dog is booked for the suite during our wedding. We are so excited that she'll be safe and loved. read more

I was out of town on business and ordered a product that was put on sale online. I purchased the product for pick up. The email I received told me my order number and the location to pick it up. The email also contained a section that looked like an advertisement for curbside pickup. I was not aware me ordering the product online and ordering for curbside pick-up was the same thing. With other retailers, you can choose curbside or walk in and they are clear on the timeframe. My order was cancelled after 5 days. I called the store and explained to store manager the mix-up and why I wasn't able to get the product. I apologized. The manager told me I could still buy the product I ordered that they still had, but I have to pay full price. Poor customer service. You have the product in hand, I called on the day you cancelled it and now I have to pay full price. You want to keep customers? This is not how you do it. read more

A Petsmart is a Petsmart, to me at least. I'm never really impressed with chain pet stores. I go in with one purpose usually. They are having a darn good sale on an item I usually buy for my cat or dog and there is no way that other places can beat that price. Is it fair to say that most of these stores are like mini zoos? I mean with all the animals they have for purchase here, it's like walking around a poor man's zoo. From birds to snakes, fish to rodents and occasionally some cats up for adoption. Time sure can pass here. This particular one is set in a plaza with other blah stores and not a plaza that you are interested in visiting in the first place. I take my dogs here for grooming & they always come out looking great! They even do walk in appts for nail clipping and they are always super fast. I typically book their appts online for this and they are usually able to get them in next day (or the following). Everyone here is always so nice too! Only thing I would change is maybe cleanliness (there is a TON of dog hair on the floor usually). My dog walks in and is walking through all the dog hair laying on the floor. It sometimes seems too that it's not hair currently falling from a dog being groomed and has been sitting there... other than that though this place gets the job done! read more

I took my dog to the groomers at pet smart. He has gone there before and I had requested the same service which was a bath, nail trim, and chi treatment. When I picked my dog up I was made to take invoice to front register to pay before I saw my dog. Finally the dog was brought out and the groomer began to review what she did with him. She did not complete chi treatment and when asked why by her coworker she said " I don't know I just didn't" my dog was scared and jumped to get to me scratching my arm to the point of causing bleeding; so his nails were not cut either. My dog was clearly scared which is not his normal personality at groomer, vet, or pet store and I had to wait for manager to be refunded for the services not rendered. I told manager about how unprofessional the groomers were today and she simply said thank you. I also witnessed while waiting for my invoice two groomers basically claim a nervous dog snapped at one of their heads as she was putting him on the table. I can guarantee that did not happen! I watched the whole drama show right in front of me of the two ladies that made it very clear they did not want to trim the nervous dog's nails and so the older one screamed he snapped at your head as they waved the dog mom back in. I have never witnessed such unprofessional customer service until they mocked the dog mom after she walked out the door. Needless to say we will not be returning. read more

I never thought I'd be leaving a review of a large, chain retail store, but the dog daycare at the Monroeville Petsmart has exceeded my expectations and deserves 4 stars. It should be noted that this is the ONLY Petsmart in the Southwestern PA region that has a daycare. Care: Wonderful! My dog loved going here so much that she recognized the intersection before I ever turned into their parking lot. Once she realized where we were going, there was no calming her down. She loved the staff, and it was clear that the staff loved her. I would have taken her every day if it was possible. Price: Perfect! They are the most affordable daycare in Pittsburgh, hands-down. It was $17 for all day as long as you picked them up by 9pm. No half day, full day confusion, just simple pay for the day. Sadly, I am no longer able to go here since I do not work in Monroeville, but I really do miss it and recommend this place to everyone. read more

PetSmart has just about everything you could want for your cat or dog. Even now that I live in the city, I still go back to PetSmart because they have Blue products. Service is friendly and relatively fast. The staff are knowledgeable. I've used Banfield a couple times for dental cleanings and find the prices to be much better than my regular vet. I once tried to give my dog a bath and clip his nails myself and the experience proved to be rather traumatic for the both of us! He was confused and scared; I was displeased with my level of service. So back to PetSmart he goes now and a great job they do. He comes out soft and clean and smelling delicious. Good selection but there prices are kind of high. I do prefer to buy their sell items like dog toys and treats. They have a good selection of fish foods as well! My sister just bought two new puppies but they are so small that there isn't a leash small enough to handle their tiny necks. By tiny i mean 2 lb dogs. I go there to weigh my dogs which are huge like 70 to 90 lbs and their scale is reliable. I don't buy my dog food here because i prefer the better quality that Burton Total pet has. This store is obviously a lot bigger and it has a pet hotel as well which is a plus when I have no one to watch my dogs. Again the price is a little high, $25 a pet just for basic care including a walk, fed, 30 minutes of play time. I will say that there hospital is great especially when something happens to my dogs and I'm not sure what to do and don't want to goto the emergency care place that charges $100 + just to sit in the lobby. They have plenty of colors to choose from for leashes and collars as well as harnesses. The martha stewart collection is super nice and is always on sell. Absolutely love this place! The quality service is amazing and staff members are so sweet to my puppy, Charley. He has had great fun at the Pet Hotel with great care and fun play time. Kayla, our groomer, is always sweet and hands on when giving Charley his full treatment. She even topped off her work with a blue bow tie and sugar cookie spray at one point! Danielle provided us was fun and appropriate training to get Charley started with puppy classes. One stop pet shopping. They thought of everything. You can bring your leashed dog to the store for grooming, supplies or to the onsite vet. They have a dpg park outside and its very clean. Saw an employee cleaning it and he was very thorough. They have clothes, food and all the accessories my dog could ever want or need. I purchased her toothbrush, toothpaste and some treats. I plan to look into their vet since my dog is due for a check up. I love the fact that this store was clean, everything was well stocked and the staff was friendly. Their prices are reasonable and they allow you to make donations when you check out. These donations are a great idea and since most of their customers are pet owners they're more likely to donate money to help shelters and underprivileged animals. I was tickled to find they had Halloween treats for dogs. I pass out candy but this year I'll have something for dogs if none of them trick or treat I can take my dog around to the neighborhood to visit dogs and drop off treats. read more

Lets start with a few basics: 1. the Vet is NOT in Petsmart as you are led to believe. Banfield Vet is off the Petsmart property nd across the street & up the road a shirt distance. 2. The "suites" they speak of are nothing more than apsc cages. It's about 6' deep & 5' wide. with bars on the front all lined up like any shelter. so their terms of "comfortable roomy suites" are just cages just like you would see at any shelter. We left our Aussie with Petsmart hotel over Mother's Day weekend. We left her there one other time for 3 days and she did not poop the whole time and they never bothered to call us to let us know. She refused to poop in the indoor facility. Prior to scheduling our dog for this visit we inquired if she could be taken outside to poop. They confirmed that would not be a problem. While we were away she wasn't pooping after the second day the called, told us she hadn't pooped and they were giving her pumpkin (our dog has never had pumpkin) Well they got her to poop by apparently giving her so much pumpkin she ended up with diarrhea and an upset stomach to the point she vomited. Ultimately our dog vomited 2 or 3 times and had diarrhea every time she pooped. we were on our way home and they called telling us they were taking her to the vet because of the vomiting and diarrhea. We had scheduled her summer cut/grooming to be done also. when we picked her up she had the worst half grooming I've even seen. Her coat was barely cut, only half of her belly was done, her ears were not touched, the excuse we were given was she was nervous. He nose also had a scrape on it, we were told that was from her burying her food in a blanket they gave her. Our dog had NEVER buried her food! Then we find out that because our dog didn't warm to every single employee they don't want her to be left there again! read more

!!!!!!This is a must read if you have an anxious dog!!!!! I brought my dog luna in on Friday October 8th. At the front desk was a lady I had never seen before ( I have brought her there 4 or 5 times in the past two years) my dog is a very anxious and nervous one.. she doesn't do well with new people and it takes her a minute or two to warm up to someone as long as they go slow and don't do anything too fast. She has a hard time trusting people at first, which is okay considering where she came from. The last 3 times I brought her there I explained to every front desk person that she is anxious and you need to go slow when greeting her and take your time with her. Those 3 times everything was perfect. We get to July 2021 I take her there and again advocate for my dog explaining everything and adding in the fact she does not do well with men, it takes her longer to warm up to men then it does women. Two hours into my drive to Harrisburg I get a call from a women that trained her (just the basics: sit, stay, wait, down) luna takes to her more because she knows her well and trusts her. She calls me and tells me that luna nipped at a man that tried to take her out of her crate and wanted me to calm her down. Red flag number 1 I told them specifically that would happen and they ignored everything I said about her and men. Other than that everything was fine and I picked her up two nights later. Here's where we enter October 8, 2021 around 11:45am for drop off. A women again I had never seen before in the front starts the checking in process and here I am trying to advocate for my dog telling her what she needs and how to greet and go about my dog. She immediately shuts me down and doesn't let me get a word out. I brought up the incident last time she was there with a man. And she again shut me down and was trying to justify what happens and blame my dog for them not following what I specifically said about her and men. She continued to say we need to be able to "handle her, she can't not like us" stuff like that basically blaming luna for her trust issues with humans. I'm driving home and my parents call me to tell me they recommend luna doesn't come back. Because they don't know how to handle her or dogs like her. My point here is if you have a dog like luna I really wouldn't recommend bringing luna to this location they don't know how and clearly aren't trained properly how how handle and go about dogs such as luna. If you're going to work with dogs or any animal you need to be able to handle all types of dogs and their issues. Luna is such a sweet and loving dog who just has trust issues and anxiety with new people and instead of having patience with her they don't want her back. That is pretty sad on their part and things need to change before anything serious happens to anyones dog. Pet smart doesn't need to be on the news again for poorly handling animals. And to the women ( bun and box dye blonde hair with weird bangs) who just ignored everything I said and wouldn't even let me speak, find a new job you shouldn't be working with animals, not all dogs are going to be the way you clearly want them to be. You refused to listen and instead got my dog banned because you weren't properly trained. Not all dogs are the same and you can't except them all to be. Get a new job, I think Pizza Hut is hiring might be more your speed! Please don't bring your dog here if they are anything like mine, they aren't properly trained. read more

My dogs stayed for 8 nights at the petshotel in Monroeville, PA and went to camp each of those days. They were safe, happy and had a wonderful time. Since me and my wife moved, we came Petsmart for all are dog needs. They have everything you need if you have a dog, or cat, plus alot for fish too. We came here 3 times recently to get dog toys, which had a very big selection. Also Dog dippers and pooper scoop. There was everything I need pretty neat organized. When we needed help the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The prices on somethings are high and something not to bad. If i need something simply like dog food I will go elsewhere. While we were not there to pick up a prescription, the Banfield people were too good to have to assist a customer...had that problem before but still hasn't changed. We take our dog here for day camp. Although the price is a little high, the staff are amazing with her. I also appreciate that they always have someone in the room playing with the dogs (my pup is a huge fan of fetch). Other places around town just throw the dogs in a huge room and let them have at it. Love that they get human interaction here as well and pup interaction. They also have cute theme dates that the dogs get an extra snack and picture for the owner for no added charge. You never know what you truly have until you try another business. I decided not to use PetSmart due to convenience and was very disappointed with the other business (Golden Bone). The other place showed me how good PetSmart really is at taking care of my pet. The extra 20 minute drive is well worth it. The extra $10 a day is well worth it as well. I have been using the PetsHotel at this location for about two years, and I can honestly say that the staff is wonderful, the hotel appears to be well-kept and clean, and our furbaby always looks excited to head into day camp or for an overnight stay. Fawn is particularly awesome, and we always feel good when we drop our dog off with her. When I call to check in, many staff members don't even need to read the chart to give us a good update. For a large chain, I feel that the attention paid to the furry guests is every bit as good as with a smaller business. We also use the Banfield location here, and have also been very happy with them. Dr Carolla was at the Pleasant Hills location, and since she moved, we feel very comfortable visiting both locations, as the staff is great in either, and we have favorite techs in both offices. Suzanne is also fabulous at Monroeville! We had our first visit to the grooming salon this week, and were also pleased with that experience. Sonya did a very nice job, even though our furbaby was wound up from a night at the PetsHotel, she still got a bath, good haircut, and nail trim! Overall, it is wonderful to have all of these services located in one location, and we love the fact that although a large chain, we feel like each of these service providers care for our pets responsibly. read more

Personally my animal was treated great from what I observed. I am concerned though, when I went in at 2:00pm to pick up my dog there was a lady cutting another dogs hair, she was swearing at the dog and quite frankly I am hesitant to go back again. There were two other women doing grooming in the room and didn't blink an eve at how she was treating the dog. She called the dog an a**hole and made a comment about not giving a sh*t if it smelled like sh*t. When she saw me she all of a sudden started being nice to the dog. I didn't even understand why she was so upset, she was cutting his ( her) hair and granted the dog kept moving but other then that it made no sense. I am not in a habit of writing bad reviews, I was unsure on writing this one, due to the nature though, I felt I needed too. I am not one that is over sensitive to swearing.... I ain't some holier then though person. I get being frustrated, but not cool. Others that were there let it happen. Makes me worry that if someone is that upset over a dog moving about and acting like that in response to ur job, what else goes on.... I work in an industry that grows by our reviews so I usually don't take them so lightly. But this has been the last straw for me with this Petco location. When my dog was injured by a larger dog during your obedience class due to a substitute teacher who didn't know how to control the animals I didn't want to hold the grooming center accountable for their actions. So over the summer I took my dog back to you to the groomers. He was given a puppy cut so he's shaved down pretty tight. When I picked him up they walked him threw monstrous piles of dog fur on the floor I questioned their sanitation but again, didn't say anything. It took us the entire summer and a lot of money to get rid of the flee infestation that I'm certain that visit caused. After all, if my dog had them when I took him there they would have told me. Keep in mind too, he's a very small, very old dog that doesn't go outside much either. It didn't take long to realize where he had got them from. I thought of writing this review then. Fast forward to today. It's the holiday season & he desperately needed groomed. I don't like to do it myself when it's cold cause I don't have the equipment to dry him & he's a little cantankerous about being brushed anymore. To add yes, he has a bit of a cough, but again, he's very old. In my desperation I made my appointment for today with Petco, 8am things should be pretty clean & maybe he'll be the only one there. I was there early in case they wanted to get an early start. Honestly the woman acted like she didn't even want to be bothered, first complaining that I didn't shut her automatic door (not my business, not my job... So yes I purposefully left it open on my way out) then she stuttered around her excuses as to why she didn't want to take care of him.
