An A-ok and standard shopping experience at this PetSmart. The store is well stocked, well organized and brightly lit. It has the standard look and layout of what you would expect from PetSmart. On a recent visit to this location, I visited the aquatics section, the feline section and the clearance section for canine snacks. They had most everything that I expected, however, I did notice that there were some items here that I had not seen at other locations. As with most locations, I generally find employees up front working the cash registers or in the pet grooming area. I didn't really have any questions in my last visit but generally I am able to get questions answered. Extremely disappointing customer service. I purchased a dog harness and, once home, realized it didn't pass the eye test and appeared a bit small, before removing any tags. I quickly measured my dog's chest and confirmed it was indeed too small. The following day, I returned to the store to exchange it for a larger size. I also selected an additional item to purchase and clearly communicated both intentions at the register. From the start, the associate spoke to me in a stern and unwelcoming tone, giving curt instructions about where to place the items I was buying versus the item I was exchanging. I followed her directions and provided my receipt so she could process the exchange. She then asked for my full name, which struck me as unnecessary since my card already has my name on file, but I provided it. Next, she asked for my phone number. I explained that I do not provide my phone number to stores, as I've previously been inundated with marketing texts. She responded that without my phone number, she could not process the exchange or refund. This was surprising, as PetSmart's policy allows exchanges with proof of purchase, which I clearly provided. I asked to speak with a manager. The associate rolled her eyes and called for the manager over a walkie-talkie, stating, "We have a customer here who thinks he can dispute the phone number." When the manager arrived, I was told the same thing, no phone number, no exchange, without any real explanation. Her tone was dismissive and made it clear that my business was not valued. At that point, I understood that customer care was not a priority at this location. As a result, I will no longer shop there, and I will be honest about my experience if asked. Pretty standard location for the chain, and A-OK in my book. While there isn't anything that stands out to make this particular location above and beyond, they do deliver when it comes to all the normal and expected items one would need here for their fur (or scaley) babies. They also have regular pet adoption charities come in with new friends you can add to your family. The staff is mostly located up front at the registers, however, you can periodically find a staff associate walking around if you are in need of help. I would recommend you ask a cashier first though, so you don't have to wander aimlessly looking. They have their products easily divided into well signed areas, so we don't usually require any assistance ourselves. I do love that they have regular sales and deals on dog toys as we have a very heavy chewer at home who loves to destroy pretty much every toy he's ever had. So spending a lot on one toy doesn't make much sense for us. Overall: B Solid location that is A-OK! read more

I've taken my dog here twice and the groomer, Brooke M. said, "oh my dog was too wild." I was baffled because no other groomer has said this. After she had my dog for 2.5 hours, the second time, she called and said "you gotta get him. I cant groom him because he's too active and excited." When we picked him up, we later realized that she started the groom and stopped. My poor dog looked so jacked up. His coat was uneven. So we decided to take him to his old groomer in casselberry. After they finished his groom, they told us that they don't know what she meant because my dog was so calm and easy to groom. I think Brooke M. doesn't like her job and will make you feel bad because she doesn't want to groom dogs. Coincidentally they close at 6 so I think she didn't want to finish her Job and made a fake excuse. I don't recommend. My dog is a very pleasant dog and I'm shocked they allow such behavior. I'm leaving a review to highlight how amazing the dog trainer Mari is! We just completed a six-week training course for our puppy and it was extremely informative. Mari is super knowledgeable and a great teacher, and her love for dogs is evident. Based on past experience in other puppy classes I think the success of the course for your dog really depends on the instructor. I would encourage any pet parent to sign up for a class with Mari. There is an established curriculum for each week but she also takes the time to answer any specific questions you might have about your pet's behavior. After the last class, she even invited us to reach out with any future training questions. Our puppy learned so much. Thank you Mari!! read more

Ahh how to properly describe this magical store and it's wonderful professionals? "Terrifying" "dreadful" "scary" "awful" "atrocious" "frightful" "disgusting" "repulsive" "horrendous" and the list goes on. Imagine waiting almost 7 hours for the grooming service to finish taking care of your pet , but when you get to the place you find out they haven't done anything and in fact your pet has been sitting in a cage all wet without food, water and without being able to go to the bathroom. Extraordinary am I right? I honestly pity the teams because clearly they were never trained properly or even giving the required amount of members to get the service to work properly. It's not on them that's on who ever is in charge of proper coordinations but anyhow I will surely never return to this perverse establishment if it could even be consider that. Not that it matters of course, but just to put it out there for anyone who ever consider this place. Oh my God!! This whole week has been a nightmare with PetSmart's Oviedo!! The $122 charge of product that I never received because the store canceled my order was never refunded back a week later. I am having a terrible time getting this corrected. In addition, I had placed an order for same day delivery from the Casselberry store, to find out that my order was rerouted to OVIEDO, which is the store I am trying to avoid like the plague! Oviedo canceled my order as usual because they never have correct inventory listed on the website. I placed a third order, selecting in Casselberry again, and once again rerouted to Oviedo AFTER the order was all ready processed. I finally received the third order, I have not been refunded the other two orders! I have spoken to corporate, and they were supposed to have a district manager reach out to me. Instead they have the store manager, Chad give me a call. I truly gave Chad a fair shot to make things right. I spent an hour and a half talking to him on Wednesday in the middle of a workday about all the mess. He told me to call back today on Friday, to ensure a charge was reversed and the order has still not been refunded. After checking two different accounts I see a total of three charges from PetSmart since last week, and I have only received one product. I have spent the bulk of Saturday on this and Wednesday when I need to be at work. All of this over dog food! As I originally suspected we have a bigger management ( top down ) problem at Oviedo because here we are on Friday, and he still cannot figure out how to refund me for one of the charges. I will be reaching out to PetSmart corporate again, and if necessary the Better Business Bureau. The circus out there needs to stop. read more

The Oviedo "Beginner" training class was an excellent first class for my puppy who was a bit too old for the "puppy" class! Both me and my pup received plenty of attention and for questions outside of class curriculum, advice, tips and answers were provided. Judy was great and I would recommend this class. read more

My dog Ryder had his first appointment at pet grooming today. The young ladies that greeted us were smiling and friend just like my first visit their with my other puppy Anikka 3 weeks earlier. They took great care with Ryder and he was happy and excited when I returned about 15 minutes later to pick him up. As with my vet, the young ladies wanted to keep Ryder. Honestly never felt worse leaving this place on multiple occasions. Today I came in to exchange a harness for my puppy it had been raining all day so I kept her inside. Going to pet smart I was happy to get her out of the house she's 6months old and has lots of energy (she is only 22lbs). So naturally going into petsmart she was jumping around and excited. A petsmart trainer working with another dog walked past us a few times making my puppy more excitable because she saw another dog. About the 4th time coming right by us she says "your doing so much better than them" talking to the dog she was training and referring to mine as the "them". Yesterday I took my three small dogs to Petsmart to have them groomed. I'd seen that they didn't have a good rating on yelp and was hard for me to believe that a place that specialized in Pets and had a pet hospital and it would not have good groomers so I decided to give it a try. The groomers were kind and helpful one of my dogs is 16 and has a heart murmur. The groomer suggested that she see the doctor before she was groomed because it could endanger her. And never crossed my mind that her heart murmur could cause her desk if she was too stressed by being groomed. I think this was very conscientious of the girls and extremely professional. I made a doctors won't do for the next day. But I do want to tell you that the two dogs who are groomed or groomed so well I've never had them groomed so well before ever fight anyone. My Pomeranian got a four hour makeover and she's like a different dog. She looks beautiful and thin and our hair flows around her perfectly. They put the cutest little bows on them and they were both so happy to see me I nearly cried. I would recommend anyone take their dog they are these girls were professional courteous kind gentle and loving to my little ones. The grooming shop is spotlessly clean and well-kept. I don't know how they got such a low rating they deserve five stars everyone in the store at the doctors office and in the grooming area was Wonderful! read more

I had been grooming my dogs here for several years, but refuse now to take them back. The level of cleanliness for this facility has become intolerable. When entering the grooming area, it smelled badly of wet dog and hair was everywhere. (On the tables, countertops and all over the floor) The mat at the front entrance to the store was badly covered with this fur even though the grooming salon has a closed door. The staff appears to have completely turned over and is lacking training. Very sad turn of events. Would expect more from a large corporation like PetSmart- it should train its employees and keep things clean. If I was horrified, I wonder how my dogs felt to be groomed there. One of the better PetSmart locations in the Orlando area. This review is more for purposes of comparison of PetSmart stores. My wife and I generally get our dog supplies (outside of food) from Petsmarts. Whether it is toys, leashes, grooming, or training classes, PetSmart generally does a pretty good job fulfilling our basic dog needs. We like going to this particular PetSmart because it is located in a nice plaza and the Banfield Pet Hospital is one of the best non-standalone pet hospitals in Orlando. The employees for this PetSmart and the Bansfield are all extremely friendly and helpful. While we generally get our dog groomed at private locations, we have taken him to this PetSmart on occasion and they generally do a pretty good job (albeit for higher prices than are worth the drive from Winter Park). Overall, if you are around the Oveido area or are a PetSmart snob, this location is a good place to have your dog needs fulfilled. read more

Nice Petsmart location, especially for the size. This location is a bit smaller than the larger store on Colonial Dr. by Fashion Square Mall. Items are well stocked for regular and sale items. Great selection of seasonal items. There is a vet and grooming department to the right as you walk in the store. Dog training is offered at this location as well. Judy is an excellent trainer. She went out of her way to help Jackson with his insecurities. We started with private lessons and quickly found out that he needed to be with other dogs. While still shy, he worked well with Judy as well as the other dogs and graduated his third training class. We will be going on to therapy training in January. If you live in the area Petsmart Oviedo is a perfect place to start your training. read more

There were some dog toys in the "clearance" bin and I picked one up to purchase and as I was roaming around noticed the EXACT toy in the toy aisle. In fact... This one wasn't marked "down" and was the SAME price. They aren't even discounting some "clearance" items. I brought this up to the manager and he just seemed annoyed with me. Or are you one who waits a few days to see if the fish lives past the weekend? OR, have you ever found a baby red snapping turtle at your doorstep and thought, "Hey! Maybe this would be a great pet for the kids! I should go get a tank!" OR, have you ever wondered, "What would be a great pet to get my 7 year old?" OR, have you ever thought, "Deeeewwwwdd, my dog could use a lil pamperin and get her hair did and pawdicure." Well, if you've said yes to any of these scenarios, then PetSmart is your place to go. With pet grooming up front, puppy training held regularly and knowledgeable staff, it's a for sure bet that you can ask them any question and they'll have the best answer. Oh, and just in case you're wondering, I've learned that if you'd like to buy an aquarium for your fish, you need to let the filters work for at least 24 hrs before you can put fish in it. Oh, and if you find a wild turtle, it's best to keep them in the wild. Often times they carry bacteria such as salmonella, which of course is deadly. But if you get your turtle from a pet store or vet, they are treated and free from those bacteria. Oh, and if your 7 year old wants a hamster, it is recommended you wait until they are 8 years old for handling. (Crazy cool info, right?!? Horrible staff, unprofessional. Made an appointment on a Sunday for dog grooming. When I arrived I was informed that my dog could not be seen for grooming on weekends because there was a note in the system that he has high anxiety. My dog had been going there for multiple years on the weekend and this was the first I've ever heard of this. No mention when we set the appointment and no apology. All I got from the groomer was "that's what it says in the system". Suffice it to say pets mart has lost mine and my 2 dogs' business. So sad..please read this My daughter took her two kids in this store to look at the gold fish. She notices a tank in the store with lots of dead gold fish. She said there were at least 20 to 30 dead gold fish in a tank. She pointed this out to the store personnel and was told they were aware of the dead fish and the tank would be change that night. The store rep eluded to changes in the morning and changes at night Wow, what store would leave dead fish in a bowl when trying to sell fish. Well needless to say, my daughter left the store never to buy gold fish from there again. A little over a week ago, my little grandson got a fish from there that died tonight. So they were trying to see if they were doing something wrong as the little fish was hovering the bottom of the small bowl. However, they were told that gold fish don't live long in a small fish bowl even with a pump and chemicals to combat the faucet water. However, Petsmart should no better than to display dead fish, even lots of them. I hope they do better in the future. Dead fish should not be on display unless it's a fish market. The first time I took my dog to be groomed at this store it was wonderful! The second time it was a very bad experience. I will never take my dog back to be groomed at this PetSmart. Needless to say, we didn't allow him to stay but we were still charged $83 for them giving him just a bath after keeping him caged for three hours. My poor dog had to go to the bathroom so bad that when I took him out of the store he probably went pee for no less than 5 minutes. I think they are cruel to animals. read more

My Yorkshire Terrier has been groomed by Sophia D. in the PetSmart Grooming Salon in Oviedo for the past year. We go every 4 weeks, and our appointments are always honored on time and my Yorkie looks wonderful afterwards. Sophia tries very hard to do whatever is requested and all the staff is friendly and helpful. I have seen the grooming done by the other groomers, and they all seem to really care about the dogs that they work with. Sophia D. tells me that she loves my little "Winnie the Pooh", and I believe it and trust her with my precious doggy. I have seen how kindly she handles my dog. I'm specifically reviewing the Banfield Animal Hospitla in this Pet Smart. I take 3 of my kitties here for their annual exams and necessary check ups. Staff are very friendly and the vets are very understanding and compassionate towards any pet. Their service is pretty quick. You don't wait as long to get seen. They provide doggy treats at check in to help ease the anxiety of going to the vet for your pet. They offer pet wellness plans that includes costs of exams, vaccines, and other necessary shots. I pay $39 for both of cats hat are over a year old and $24 for my 17 week kitty. Decent if you ask me. They are very thorough when conducting their comprehensive exams not hey also have he option to drop off your pet for their appointments and pick them up when they are done, instead of waiting. Super convenient if you have errands. Because they are within pet smart, they only have 3 exam rooms so they do get busy and booked, which is why making an appointment and being on time is key. Waiting area isn't as big as it is near the cashiers area but they work quick so the wait isn't long. There is also a location that stands as just a Banfield Hospital in Lake Mary - Colonial Town Center - if you prefer a more private and spacious facility. read more

Having Bischon Fries dogs for 30 years, I do know something about the grooming. I was livid when I picked up my Marley after the grooming at PetSmart when the groomer and I had discuss the services in advance. I wanted a trim, she said she might need clipping due to mats. I know this can be the case but NEVER have they shaved my dog because of excessive mats which she did not have by the way. She is groomed every 4 weeks. Marley lost an ear to a PETCO groomer 12 years ago so it was a risk taking her to a chain groomer but we are visiting Florida for the winter and she needed bath and trim. Petmart was recommended. I think the grooming department hires unqualified people, does not listen to customers and charges very high fees for the service. I was refunded my $66 but now I have to keep my dog covered with sun screen until her hair grows which could be many many weeks. She is 15! Beware, find a different grooming place. read more
