Places like this North Augusta PetSmart, and employees like Karen and Kaitlyn (sp.?) are why I shop at brick-and-mortar instead of online. A recent visit to the vet made it so that I needed to change my beloved soulmate dog's food to something else pretty particular. I went to PetSmart and was trying to figure it out on my own, but one of these two ladies spent a good hour helping me find just the right balance at a price that was reasonable. I left feeling satisfied with that visit. Then, maybe a week or so after, I went in to buy some cute little diaper covers for my dog and Kaitlyn and Karen were just wonderful. They remembered her, helped us, and even offered her a surprise balloon pup cup. My dog, who usually never accepts treats from strangers, and who has never liked pup cups, devoured all of it happily. It really made our day for days. I appreciate places like this and employees like these two women more than I can express. For this reason, I will continue to support in-person stores rather than online. It can make all the difference in our lives. read more

this is my second time taking my dog to the pet smart in north Augusta the first time they did what I asked this time they did a horrible job they complained about my Dog not wanting to sit down during his cut the first time. if that was the case why take him back and reschedule and shave him bald just to half do the job my poor baby came back looking like a crackhead. I was shown the price on the PetSmart website as $52. When I took my pedigreed Schnauzer in, he said for matting it would be at least $98.00. Isn't that a groomer's job for bath, brushing out, and full hair cut? Longer haired dogs, especially Schnauzers who have hair on their legs, get matted to some degree. They are liars. False advertising. Not to mention I had a 12:30 appt today and then he puts her in a crate! They should be ready to groom when the dog arrives otherwise what is the point of making the appt. I left without having my dog groomed. I am not paying an outrageous price just because this lazy Adam doesn't want to do what he is getting paid for. read more

This is how pet smart lies, they tell you that you don't need an appointment to have your dog groomed but when you show up without an appointment you will not receive service and told that you need an appointment. Company lies. Stay as far away from pet smart as you can, if they lie to the human how are they going to treat your pet. Their website clearly states no appointment is required in more than one location. Associate was also quite rude by telling us she does not control their official company website. read more

We stopped by to pick up some treats for the dog. Store was clean and organized. They have clean up stations in case of doggie accidents. Usually there's some sort of sale on treats and there were toys on clearance. Dog loves coming here, especially for the treats! Staff is very friendly and asks if you need help finding anything. We haven't used any grooming services so can't comment on that. Plan to be back, anywhere that allows my best pal to shop with me! read more

My friend bought a puppy about 3 months ago, he didn't know anything about the dog. What breed she was, what was she mixed with, or even the age. I met the dog like 2 weeks ago and the dog was very WILD!!! Biting at my ankles, scratching my arms and hands, jumping up on the chair I was sitting in, wouldn't stay still, running back and forth; let's just say that this dog could possibly be a WILD ANIMAL!!! I didn't go over my friend's house for a few weeks because I didn't want to be terrorized by this dog. My friend and I were out and about the other day and he needed to stop by his house to pick up some things. So we stopped by his apartment. My friend puts the dog in the bathroom when he leaves so the dog doesn't bite up his belongings, well the dog defecated in the bathroom, shredded up a whole roll of tissue, scratched up the wall, and knocked over things in the bathroom. My friend was highly upset and put the dog on the patio until my friend's anger subsided. An hour or so, he brought the dog back in and she was up to her old tricks again, biting and scratching everything. I suggested to my friend that he should get her nails trimmed and tended to. I came to Yelp and found PetSmart to have a deal on grooming the dog and an appointment wasn't necessary, so we made our way there. We got quoted a price and asked a few questions. One of the groomers, I didn't get her name, but she was very knowledgeable about dogs. She guesstimated the dog's breed, age, temperament, and what to expect as the dog grew. She said the dog was definitely a Bully breed and they are very stubborn and lives life on their own terms. And the dog is about 10 weeks old. The puppy was in a new place, so she was exploring her surroundings but wasn't as wild as she normally is. The other groomer took the dog back and began, I didn't get her name either. The dog went back into her normal state and wouldn't stay still. The groomer had a hard time getting her job done. The other groomer came and assisted her once she was finished with the other dogs she had. I don't know what it was about this lady, but she calm the dog down and instead of the dog terrorizing everything and everybody, she just became happy and just started running around happily. They did a great job at the grooming. This environment is great for puppies and older dogs, they are aware enough to handle them all. I'm sure they would be great at training dogs too. I suggested that to my friend because one of the groomer's said the dog will grow fast and she will be even more hard to control!!! These people are great at their job!!! read more

Recently bought two pet rats from the North Augusta location, suddenly out of know where one of my boys Espresso passed away, he was perfectly healthy no injuries nothing, I called the store to see what could be done and dealt with a very rude person claiming to be the pet manager named Orie, My boy Espresso is gone and because it is 16 days today, they've decided they can't do anything cause they'd get fired if they refunded or replaced the lost pet, and they promptly told me they didn't care about my emotions and that I was out of luck. I usually shop in this store for all of my animals, I'm Autistic and am being told my heartache means nothing to them, I will No longer be purchasing anything from PetSmart from here on out, and neither will my family. Over a Beloved Pet Rat that cost $11.99 I'm being treated like my emotions and feelings don't matter, so if I don't matter then they don't deserve my business. read more

Rude receptionist. She actually asked me why I bought both of my dogs from the same breeder. She went on to elaborate that since both of my Cavaliers had murmurs it had to be because the breeder wasn't reputable. Anyone that has any knowledgeable this breed knows that Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are prone to heart murmurs as they age. I wanted to ask her first of all, where her manners were and secondly what college she had received her Veterinary Degree. The sweet, young groomer was patient and kind with my two older dogs. I would return because I know it's not the groomers fault, but who would want to deal with that rudeness again? read more

there was a dead fish in a tiny, inhumane container. you'd think they would walk around daily to make sure theres no dead animals, but you'd be wrong. the water was murky and yellow, thus it has been there for at least a couple days. i am VERY disappointed that the already bad conditions of the animals are shown to the costumers. read more

This location is a exactly what we needed in North Augusta for our fur babies. Although it's fairly small inside when compared some of the other pet stores in the CSRA, it's ample and has a decent selection of pet supplies. I'm thankful that there's no need to drive to Augusta, Evans or Aiken for the specialty cat litter needed for my kitten. They also host pet adoptions for a local rescue group. The staff here do not go out of their way to be helpful, but if you need them they are around and friendly at checkout. read more

Dropped my 2 dogs off at 9:30 am for their grooming appointments. Received a call at 10:18 am with the groomer rudely announcing to me "you need to take Princess to the vet." I am a bit baffled because both dogs saw the veterinarian last week, and the paperwork was presented when the dogs were dropped off this morning. She then tells me that I needed to pick Princess up immediately because "poop is draining out of her butt." Again baffled, I explain to her that someone would pick Princess up as soon as possible. She then tells me that I need to hurry up because if she has to bathe Princess again, she's going to charge me extra. I tell her that I am not going to pay extra for anything and that I will pick Princess up ASAP. 15 minutes later, the manager, Brad, calls and tells me to pick Princess up. I explain to him that I'm on my way. He then chastises me like I am a derelict pet owner who isn't a paying customer. I get there within 50 minutes of the initial call. I ask what's a reasonable time frame to get there from work in GA and back to North Augusta in an emergency situation. The groomer says "30 minutes to a half hour, and if it takes you longer than that, you should find a groomer closer to you." I was charged full price for Princess for a 180 minutes worth of service. Mind you, Princess is fine, her butt is fine, there was no poop in my car on the way home. Maybe if I had received a simple, polite call from the groomer saying "Hi Mrs Roberts, Princess isn't feeling well, we're not going to be able to finish the service, can you come pick her up now?" I wouldn't be leaving this 1-star review. Maybe if Brad, the manager, and Megan, the groomer, had a bit more customer service savvy and talked to their paying customers with a little less condescension and a bit more compassion for a pup who just needed to poop and a working pup owner who can't magically teleport, things would have turned out differently. Okay being new in town with a puppy, I needed her groomed. I called several places with no luck. We buy our dog food and other pet stuff here so I decided to give grooming a try . I am so happy I did. They are great. Especially Jennifer. This place was great to Sophie. It was her very first visit to a groomer and she did great. I love PetSmarts in general but for some reason, this one misses the mark consistently. The cashier is usually AWOL and more times than not, a few people in line will have an awkward conversation about how long the lines are getting with no apology when one does appear. It's fairly small when compared to the other PetSmart in Augusta, but it doesn't help to have such bare shelves either! I will swing by this PetSmart on my way to North Carolina or Columbia for transport but have been disappointed to not be able to find dog food or some simple Tetra fish food for my own fish. Their only saving grace and the reason I periodically swing by is because they have so many items on clearance and if you're the type of person who will pick up a handful of cheap dog food to drop off at the shelter, this is the PetSmart location for you. I've never seen so much dog/cat food on clearance before (and it's well before the expiration date) and I even picked up a giant bag of Hill's Prescription cat food for myself for only $10. Please only stop by this location if this is the last resort and you can't wait for an online order from Chewy, Amazon, or TSC. Because sometimes, even if you order something from Petsmart.com for store pickup, they fall short of being 100% on inventory and you're left with a shrug and a half hearted apology. read more

I have been bringing my dog to this salon for almost three years. Today I drove over to take him to be groomed and was informed he wasn't allowed to be early. It was 9:15 and his appt was at 9:45. I've been bringing him early for nearly three years. No one bothered relaying this New procedure ahead of time. It wasn't told to me when I booked the appt online or by any other means. They always call and confirm appointments but couldn't call to tell me their procedures had changed. I had to leave to go to work and I was late for work because I had to drive all the way back home to put my dog up who will continue to be dirty now for however long until I can get an appt time that works before work or after which is highly unlikely since he can't be early. The girl who answered the phone in the grooming salon made it clear with her tone it was no sweat off her back. She could care less to lose the business. I guess that's the downside of using a chain for grooming. read more

Where begin, this salon is a complete joke. I would never in a million years bring my personal pet here again or recommend anyone bring their baby to get any grooming service at this location for many reasons. The customer service could be better and their grooming quality is very poor. I brought my jackadoodle in and told them I wanted a summer cut on him, they looked at me like a had six heads and informed that my dog was not a real breed and that I had an expensive mutt and further criticized me on my dogs weight, I thought I was bringing him in for a grooming appointment not a vet appointment. I understand my dog could lose a little weight but I don't appreciate being made to feel like a bad pet owner when I am doing the best I can. He has a thyroid issue and I'm doing my best. Furthermore, after 6 hours when I was told at drop off it would only take 3 to 4 hours at the most, my dog came home still feeling wet and with a choppy hair cut and looked like a poodle which I explicitly said I did not want. I would strongly advise people to look at other place to get their dog groomed because I was not impressed with this business whatsoever. read more
