We were interested in possibly getting some fish accessories- tank set up, etc, so stopped in. They have a wide selection of items for all pets; dogs, cats, birds, fish, rodents etc etc. They had a vet on site while we were there to take care of your best friend. Pricing seemed ok, although, sadly, but probably better prices on line. The only negative (and hence 2 stars from me) was our check out experience. A rather sassy woman was away from her register doing something else. Took her a while to come over. During the COVID19 days, she had a mask as employees were required to have. Hers was draped around her neck, not worn properly over her face. Ok, I dont even know what's right or wrong in that area, but I had a mask on. There were 2 errors during my check out - one was a $10 donation I did not make, but was charged for. (Need to check my statement and see if it was fixed - I'm not confident). She was pretty aggressive in blaming me for both errors. I took the verbal beating, because I just wanted to get out of there. Not sure I'll be back in there.

This is specifically in relation to their grooming services as I have no other experience with this store. We recently moved to Charleston and had difficulty finding a groomer as all the top rated groomers were full and not taking new clients. Since I was really in need of getting my goldendoodle groomed, I took her here, having had a not bad experience at the grooming services of another PetSmart in Colorado before we moved. Well, they took a look at my dog and all her mats (she was very matted - why she needed to be groomed) and instead of trying to get the mats out, they just shaved her head to toe, including her whiskers and her tail. When I picked her up, they were so proud they "saved her ears". I was almost hysterical. No, I won't be going back and am still in need of finding a groomer for my fur-baby.

    katie's malicious work

I want to make known a groomer by the name of Katie. She works at PetSmart, Mt. Pleasant. Aug 4th, Katie was at the PetSmart, Sam Rittenburg, because her store was having computer problems. She is a horrible person and groomer. She maliciously cut my dog's fur down to nothing. I should not have allowed her to touch my dog. I had a list since this was the first time my dog was being groomed. Everything I asked her "not" to do she did it. It started with what my dog "is". He's a poodle not a golden doodle. It went on with price discrepancy and what person who I made appt with & when I brought Takeo in. Takeo did have slight matting behind his neck. In Katie's dictionary demat, means to cut down to nothing. Katie cut my dog as if he was matted, flea and tick ridden. She should not touch anyone else's dog. She would rather take her frustrations out on an innocent dog. I appreciate that PetSmart returned my money after what she did, but she doesn't deserve to work with animals. Katie, everyone should know that you are a horrible person and you do not deserve the title of groomer.

Excellent trainers. We have a 18 month old female German Shepard. We put her through the 8-week…read moretraining course about a year ago. Everyone tells us that she is very well trained and follows our commands. The training must be reinforced at home and we still work with her often to reinforce and strength the terrific foundation that Off Leash K9 provided. But we are very happy with the results and definitely will invest in this training with our next K9 family member.

Recently, I was watching a training session with Russ, the licensed owner of this facility train a…read moredog with a bite history. It was a small mixed breed dog. The dog bit (without breaking skin) the trainer and the trainer immediately picked the dog up by the leash and held it in the air for what seemed like a long time, but may have been close to ten seconds conservatively.  After the dog was put back on the ground and told to sit, it ran from the trainer to the owners. The trainer ran over to the dog grabbed it by the leash and it bit him again. He picked the dog up a second time and was suspended in the air for several seconds. The dog ran away a second time. After retrieving the dog, it was picked up by the leash a third time by the trainer and set on a large box. I believe it bit him again somewhere in the mix because he exclaimed that that was "the third fucking time it bit [him]." At this point I protested, by saying the trainers name -at the time I was so shocked I didn't have words yet. The trainer yelled and pointed at me from across the room to "Never fucking tell [him] what to do". I clarified that, in fact, I had not told him what to do and was hoping he would not continue to escalate the situation further. He went on "not to ever question" his methods. But I very much question this method. The situation was conceived out of trainer error and unchecked emotion, from the extending the dog in the air multiple times to chasing it and grabbing it from behind the owners to even screaming and cursing at me from across the room infront of clients (who, as far as I could tell, were too shocked to speak). As a current client of OLK9, I found this incredibly disturbing. I sent an email to the owners describing my concern for the animals in the trainers care to which I have not received a response in almost a month. Is this what OLK9 stands For? I'm concerned to bring my dog black to this location, but am due for another 2 lessons. The trainer I was working with quit following the incident and there are currently no other trainers at this location. We spent a lot of money on the Rock Star program. Further, I'm concerned for the safety of the animals in this trainers care, if he is willing to display such irrational and ruthless disregard for dogs infront of their owners, how does he treat them when they are not around to prevent the abuse?
