This is my 2nd visit to the Mt Pleasant site. I tried to book appointment online for $46, but app didn't work. I called 48 hours ahead, and requested $46 service. Arrived to a salon that was crowded and at 7:00am fur all over. I decided to try again, and when I checked out the fee was $8 more. I inquired why, and was told there's a holiday fee increase. The groomer told me to ask at checkout about the price. The manager insisted price was online posted (on last page), and I explained how I called in... he didn't care and would not honor. Both store and groom area were dirty, urine and fur on floor, way too crowded, and rude. PetSmart has lost me as a customer ever again as all parts of the visit were disappointing. read more

Three times in the last year I tried to get in and out right at 9:00am, and three times I waited 15-20 mins and I end up having to leave. No one answers the phone, no one is walking around, nothing. It's ridiculous. Store hours need to change if staffing is an issue. read more

All three experiences I've had with the grooming salon at this location have left a bad impression, I tried to give them multiple chances but each time they've been rude and short with me for no reason. And then this last experience I brought my dog in for a nail trim and the man who did her nails was so rude and I felt bad giving my dog to him- he literally dragged her by the slip lead around her neck- which as pet people should know lots of dog breeds are prone to IVDD and should never be dragged by their neck like that. and that's just not the way to get a dog to trust you and like you to groom them. I'd highly recommend the grooming salon at the Rivers Ave Petsmart instead, all the workers there are so much kinder and more gentle will all animals!! I am a frequent shopper at the pet-smart in Mt pleasant long point . Several times I have been overcharged for a dog food I buy on a monthly basis. The dog food is clearly marked on the shelf but rings up incorrectly overcharging me $4.00. I have brought it to the attention of the employees as well as the manager and it has not been corrected. I am concerned about any product I buy at this Location and how many unsuspecting customers are being overcharged ! I encourage all Petsmart shoppers to check the shelf price, take a photo and check your receipts !! read more

We were interested in possibly getting some fish accessories- tank set up, etc, so stopped in. They have a wide selection of items for all pets; dogs, cats, birds, fish, rodents etc etc. They had a vet on site while we were there to take care of your best friend. Pricing seemed ok, although, sadly, but probably better prices on line. The only negative (and hence 2 stars from me) was our check out experience. A rather sassy woman was away from her register doing something else. Took her a while to come over. During the COVID19 days, she had a mask as employees were required to have. Hers was draped around her neck, not worn properly over her face. Ok, I dont even know what's right or wrong in that area, but I had a mask on. There were 2 errors during my check out - one was a $10 donation I did not make, but was charged for. (Need to check my statement and see if it was fixed - I'm not confident). She was pretty aggressive in blaming me for both errors. I took the verbal beating, because I just wanted to get out of there. Not sure I'll be back in there. read more

This is specifically in relation to their grooming services as I have no other experience with this store. We recently moved to Charleston and had difficulty finding a groomer as all the top rated groomers were full and not taking new clients. Since I was really in need of getting my goldendoodle groomed, I took her here, having had a not bad experience at the grooming services of another PetSmart in Colorado before we moved. Well, they took a look at my dog and all her mats (she was very matted - why she needed to be groomed) and instead of trying to get the mats out, they just shaved her head to toe, including her whiskers and her tail. When I picked her up, they were so proud they "saved her ears". I was almost hysterical. No, I won't be going back and am still in need of finding a groomer for my fur-baby. read more

Large big box store for all your pet needs. While I do not shop here often, I do stop by here often enough to look at cat related items. The store offers a large variety of pet food options from the everyday ones found in grocery stores to the special Veterinary prescribed ones. Besides food, the store is full of everything else possible you could want for a dog, cat, and other animals. At the back of the store is a grooming salon, and a veterinary. This location also has a pet adoption area for cats, so if you are ready to adopt stop by here. Service here is good, just ask and they will be sure to take you to what you are looking for. My wife is obsessed with PetSmart, but I'm like a "it costs so much!" kind of guy; usually having to make sure she doesn't empty our checking account on a visit there. This PetSmart is really nice; they have lots and lots pet toys, pet food, pet clothing, leashes, etc.. They also rent steam cleaners here by Bissell which we rented and it actually did a way better job than those other big red machines other stores rent; the Bissell is specifically designed with pets in mind. Staff here at this location is friendly and helpful. read more

The dog grooming salon has terrible customer service. I have taken my dog to Petsmart salons all around the country (I'm a full time traveler) so they should have all of my dog's info in their system. They called me for some type of documentation, which I've never been asked for at any other Petsmart. They said they could get the info, even though there's a Banfield on site. They clearly don't need my business so I'll go elsewhere. read more

I want to make known a groomer by the name of Katie. She works at PetSmart, Mt. Pleasant. Aug 4th, Katie was at the PetSmart, Sam Rittenburg, because her store was having computer problems. She is a horrible person and groomer. She maliciously cut my dog's fur down to nothing. I should not have allowed her to touch my dog. I had a list since this was the first time my dog was being groomed. Everything I asked her "not" to do she did it. It started with what my dog "is". He's a poodle not a golden doodle. It went on with price discrepancy and what person who I made appt with & when I brought Takeo in. Takeo did have slight matting behind his neck. In Katie's dictionary demat, means to cut down to nothing. Katie cut my dog as if he was matted, flea and tick ridden. She should not touch anyone else's dog. She would rather take her frustrations out on an innocent dog. I appreciate that PetSmart returned my money after what she did, but she doesn't deserve to work with animals. Katie, everyone should know that you are a horrible person and you do not deserve the title of groomer. read more

Disappointing customer service from this Petsmart. I made a grooming appointment a week beforehand for my 14 year old Springer, only to have them call to cancel while I was en route to the store. Apparently they decided a Saturday was too stressful a time for my dog. Would have been nice to know that before I got in the car or at any time in the days before. read more

I happened to get off work early and had looked on PetSmarts website and saw that grooming services were half off for the week (6/23-6/29) from the hours of 2pm-6pm. I needed to get my dogs nails trimmed and ground down. Since this is a walk-in service I took my dog in to the store without an appointment. I proceeded to the grooming salon and the lights were off but the door was unlocked. It appeared that there was a problem with the air conditioning due to some equipment in the grooming salon. Since nobody came to help me, I proceeded up front to ask if the grooming salon was open. I informed the employee that the door was unlocked to the salon. The employee radioed another team member to ask about the salon. I was informed that they were closed. I made a comment that they had no sign up letting customers know this information and they had a deal running this week for their service. The employee did not care. This is the last time I will ever use PetSmart as a company. They never care about their customer. I have already had a problem with the Banfield pet hospital and now this. Do NOT use Petsmart. Spend your money locally where you know your pet will be cared for!!!! read more

Horrible. They tell you they're going to do one thing with your dog then just completely shave him and charge you an exuberant amount of money for it. Thanks for the piss poor effort PetSmart, we will not be coming back. The three other dogs in there when we picked ours up were also shaved all the way down. Do not recommend. read more

[Note- Why are there two separate listings for the same location?? Please fix, Yelp gurus!] I use PetSmart at home (Atlanta) for Luke's grooming needs as well as adjacent Banfield for his vet needs. NPWH work at this SC location near our beach house, just like at home. Luke had his first visit to this Banfield last week, for routine shot/vacc updates and they were efficient, friendly and quick to get him in and out; they also said he was a "complete baby doll" and the best-behaved dog they'd had in a while - that's my well-trained boy!! After he got his vet updates (note- if you use one PetSmart/Banfield, your records can be transferred to another one if you find yourself in need of services in a different city), he was able to be groomed. Beyond serious nail grinding - that boy's nails could've hurt you! - they did what I consider a great "summer cut" - cooler for the dog, but not stupidly, excessively shaved all over but the ears and tail (seen that before at some places, ugh) and still looking sharp. Not too bad on the amount of time- we got there about 1130 (on the day before a big holiday at the beach, no less) and got a call he was done about 345. Pretty normal/prompt for any PS visits we have made. Glad to know if I am at the beach and he needs prettifying or medical attention, this PS is right there! read more

I greatly prefer Petsmart over other animal stores (i.e. Petco), but I still think you can find better deals on pet supplies elsewhere. Yes, the selection here is a lot bigger than WalMart or Target...but how many types of catnip filled mice and canned food does a person need to look at? At some point it gets overwhelming. Then again, I'm a gemini and naturally indecisive to begin with. Necessity shopping aside, Petsmart is a great place to find cutesy things (they have Christmas items right now - think abominable snowman and island of misfit toys), buy some small furry things in cages (trust me when I say you don't need a chinchilla), and get your companion groomed or medicated. The staff was friendly and seemed like they really wanted to help me with my 42lb bag of cat litter, but please, that's why I work out! I'll happily come here when looking for something special but for basic stuff to keep my cat alive (food/litter) I'll still go wherever the best sales are. read more

I love PetSmart. This location is filled with knowledgeable staff and always seems well stocked while still having a decent selection of stuff on clearance (can't pass on a cheap cat toy!). I have a picky cat (is their any other kind?) so I often find myself returning a variety of things from food and treats to cat toys. I've never had an issue with anything, even without a receipt. Often times I end up getting a valuable suggestion from the cashier on how to find something that my animal will enjoy. read more

Grooming not recommended! Took my 2 dogs to be groomed today, 1 returned a hot mess. Looks like they never even bathed her! Ears are dirty (outside fur) and muzzle was trimmed uneven. They barely serviced the 1 dog..... Contacted the salon and they offered to redo her ears if I returned., 2 dogs were already in the car after a 3.5 hour salon visit and I would have gone back but the two dogs are tough to handle by myself. Talked to the store manager and he offered 15% off my next service. You did not get the first service right, you expect me to return! I have pictures if interested. What did my dogs do for 3.5 hours? Completely upset and disgusted. I will not even shop there anymore. read more

Just had a really bad experience at the PetSmart Groomers off Long Point Road. I had to tell the groomer to stop because of how she was treating and handling her, she was not calm, raised her voice to coco to "stop" multiple times and was jerking her legs to get her paws in her hands and grabbed her harness to shake her to stop. DO NOT let the girl with pink hair ever work on your dog, who knows how much worse she acts in the back when we can't see them. For the record, two kind and compassionate groomers stepped in and did a great job finishing and keeping her calm. read more

When I brought my dog there they lady pushed me to trim his eyes and after I said no a few times she said "I'll just clean it up a little" to which I said ok. This was apparently an upcharge and not a trim but almost a shaving of his eye brows. read more

I came in here for a scheduled bath in August. I was on the way to my final bridal fitting and was dropping my dog off first. I had my dogs updated vaccinations faxed over during the week because my vet is closed on the weekends. I get there and the women takes FOREVER to check her in. I tell her I am in a bit of a hurry and I really need to be as quick as possible. Last thing she does is tell me oh, she doesn't have the updated paper work and I need to be the one to wait in line to go get the paperwork at a register upfront? I've never heard of this protocol. I have my dog shaking like a maniac in my arms and I run up front and the line is insane for some reason. I run back to the empty grooming salon and tell her - there has to be another way to do this. The lady is working alone, so I understand she can't leave the salon, and she grabs someone who seems to have a quicker thinking brain and they come up front with me to the office beside the front registers and look through the fax papers. They can't find my paperwork that my vet sent in the previous Wednesday. (Why don't they take these papers back EACH DAY?!) At this point I'm pissed. And I leave understanding I'm going to be late to my fitting and my dog is just going to be coming. Icing on the cake?! When they call me. And they say "mam, we found Finley's paperwork. She can come back for her bath." Ha! No! What part of I'm late did you not understand?! They were unprofessional and did not have their paperwork together. I do not trust them with my dog. read more

Bad Management at PetSmart Groomers and Store Manager off of Long Point Road. PetSmart was closed for two weeks prior to the 6th of April due to COVID19. When I called to schedule a grooming appointment, I was transferred to a customer service agent from PetSmart, who assisted me in scheduling a grooming appointment for the 6th of April. The customer service agent asked a lot of question including the type of dog I had. She finally quoted a price of 42.99 for bath and brush and nail grinding. I wrote the prices down. Took my dog at 1.00pm for the 1.30 appointment. The girl at the check-in told me that she cannot take the dog-in because of COVID19. I had to bring the dog at the exact time of 1.30pm. I asked her, if you are doing social distancing and all that, why didn't you guys tell me NOT to bring the dog before the time? My previous experiences have been that I could always drop the dog off and pick her up later. She said the groomer ONLY comes at the assigned time. I was a bit frustrated about having tp drive back home and bring the dog back. Anyways, took the dog back home and asked my husband to drop her off at 1.30pm. My husband informed me that the price is now 49 dollars for the grooming/nail grinding. I asked for the grooming manage and spoke with her. I told her I was not aware of this price change and she said the dog was misclassified. I told her that the customer service agent asked me the type of dog and it is THEIR responsibility to classify the dog correctly, and not mine! It is not my mistake! They should honor the price quoted. She said it won't help me with the price in any way to reclassify the dog (dog is a mixed breed) as the price still comes to the same amount of 49 dollars. I said I understand that for future occasions, but this time they should stand by what was quoted. Her RUDE response to me was "we are very busy with COVID19 and if you don't like the price, then come back and take your dog away". I was outraged that she spoke to me like that and for making it very inconvenient for us now by having to go pick her up! I asked to speak to the store manage and was passed on to her. I explained to her the situation and she right away agreed to honor the price quoted. I also told her that the grooming manager was very rude and that she needs to deal with it. She promised me to do so. Little did I know that when my husband went to pick up the dog up that it will be her last grooming day with PetSmart! I spoke to the store manager who told me that my dog was banned from there. According to her, she had spoken with the grooming manager. It seems they feel that they can't make me "happy" and it is better for me to find another store of my own linking. I was stunned to hear such a statement. Obviously, they only want happy customers all the time! Anyone who questions price differences or expect proper customer service is not welcome at their store. My husband also informed me that the grooming manager was very rude to him when he went to pick up the dog. I am wondering if this is what PetSmart stands behind and promote? It seems like you can't disagree with this manager at PetSmart because she will ban your dog from the store. This is rude and shabby customer service from a store manager and a grooming salon manager, and a bad reflection on PetSmarts customer Service Values! Of course, I will not go their again, nor recommend this PetSmart to many dog lovers that I know. read more

I am new to the world of dogs.. A little daunting to say the least. Where to go, What to do, What to buy? The staff here are so helpful, patient & kind. The store is, in my opinion massive, with a Vet practice, Training area, and of course my favorite spot.. The Grooming area. My only negative, is that Pets Mart does not have an app, so every time I need to schedule an appointment I have google and find the info that way. Now, that is not much of a complaint is it? I have come to love this store and the staff. They already recognize my bulldog and me to some extent. The prices are fair, the coupons frequent and the service great. They have a lot of staff and they are always ready and willing to assist in any way. Parking is sweet...right outside the door or in the big mall parking lot across the street. It's convenient to my home and my new favorite place to come with my doggy. I love the fact that they are open every night until 9pm with the exception of Sunday when they close at 7pm. This is my go-to pet store. They never fail to have most everything I need whether it's dog treats, food, shampoos, brushes... you name it. My dog recently lost her harness. Had a miserable fail at PetCo, but PetSmart has an array of choices and sizes. The laser engraving machine makes for quick, lasting, easily imprinted tags. Staff is always...always knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I really enjoy going into a chain store and seeing the same friendly staff. read more

I think it's ridiculous that PetSmart charges an extra $10.00 per dog, if you bring them for grooming on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. They're already expensive to begin with. When we complained, they said "don't bring them on the weekend." Most people work during the week, and can only do this on the weekend. There is nothing smart about them. Made a reservation and they confirmed it for 10:30 and they marked it as 9am on their side. Tried dropping my dog off at the confirmed time and they said they couldn't take him and that we missed our appointment that they messed up! I called to get an appointment to get my dog's nails cut. Before all of the COVID stuff occurred, nail cutting could be done via walk-in. Now, you have to make an appointment to get it done. Or so I thought. I just called them to make the appointment and they said they can't make an appointment for just nails because that's a walk-in...but you can't walk in?!? And you have to make an appointment for a bath and they do the nails then...so a $10 job turns into a $50 job! I questioned the guy on the phone and he literally hung up on me. HUNG. UP. ON. ME. That is absolutely the worst customer service on the planet!!! And the most ridiculous (il)logic response! What the heck, PetSmart? Get it together! Never will I step foot in that smelly and filthy establishment again!!!! read more

Came in from Daytona Beach to escape the hurricane after a very long drive; and very tired. Had trouble finding the store; called to tell them we would be late (20 minutes). Woman (Emily, I think) was rude on the phone. I explained what happened when we got there; and the position we were in. We wanted the dog to have a bath while we had lunch. She had no empathy; in fact she was quite rude. Was concerned only with her getting behind schedule. Very sad that people have no empathy for hurricane victims. read more

I took my very very fluffy Bernedoodle to PetSmart to be groomed. I SPECIFICALLY asked that they only trim her, and to make sure not to cut her lashes. They are very long, and help to keep the hair out of her eyes. If trimmed, many times they don't grow back. When they brought my dog out, I was beyond upset! They had COMPLETELY shaven her down, and of course cut off all her eyelashes. I DO NOT reccomend bringing your dog here! The worst part is that we are going to NY for Thansgiving and Christmas and will be staying on a farm. She is now going to freeze. Beyond upset!! read more

Jenika, one of the groomers, failed to communicate at an initial appointment and upon return was noticeably frazzled, blamed my pet, me and the busy day/line for her failure to communicate. Both she and Kim were openly hostile and less than customer friendly. I was so uncomfortable I did not leave Zeus in their care. Store & Banfield incredibly polite and solicitous but consider grooming with caution. read more
