I have always had a dog my entire adult life. They are part of our family and are well-trained and loved. Tilly, our present yellow lab, was lucky enough to come along in our life when I had needed 1/2 day care for her. I tried another day care and was very disappointed with the staff who basically didn't engage with the dogs and were always on their cell phones. I ran into a dog trainer at a dog park who told me about Paws in Paradise. The operation is well-run by the hands on owner and by a very loving and professiomal staff. They are trained, genuinely love dog care, are never too busy for clients and are never on their phones. The place is immaculately maintined, including pools, shading, AC, Air cleaners etc. Tilly and I are lucky we found them. it adds such an active dimension to Tilly's life! read more

We have been using their dog sitting service for six years without a problem. Today I took my medium goldendoodle in for a grooming appointment and to our dismay, the total charge was $105 without a tip. My expectation was that it would cost around $80-85. The gentleman explained to me that the cost included extra for expressing the anal glands and for a doodle up charge ( due to longer fur). This was new. I had went to Paws in Paradise twice total, The first time was fine the owner was pretty rude but I assumed she was just busy. The second time however was my last time and I will not be returning. I have an Australian Shepard and asked for a cut, came to pick him up and they SHAVED him. Yeah. Aussies aren't suppose to have their hair shaved, I was pretty upset got no money off and again the owner was really rude. There's another woman that works there that was super kind and I enjoyed her. But I will not be back disliked the environment and owner. read more

I do not recommend this groomer. All I can say is beware. I discussed with the groomer the length and that she did not have mats and they basically shaved my doodle. I asked them to take her nails down as far as they could and they left them extremely long. When I went back to have them redone the front desk girl insisted she was badly matted which was not true. Unbelievably appalling customer service. I have been a faithful customer here for four years. This morning I took my dog in for grooming and was told that they wouldn't take her because her Bordetella vaccine was recently expired. I said I wish someone would have notified me because she is up to date but I didn't know they needed updated records. The front desk person told me that they absolutely would NOT make an exception and proceeded to give me a lecture about how she could get kennel cough and/or infect the other dogs. She had gotten vaccines out of state while we were traveling so I went outside to look and see if I could find the records on my phone and couldn't. I went home to look for them and ran out of time because I had other appointments for the morning. To complicate matters I'm in the middle of moving so my office is a mess. I explained all of this. The manager called and left me a voicemail accusing me of lying and said if I had just been honest they would have made an exception and taken her for her grooming this one time. Which is exactly opposite of what the front desk person told me. This fiasco made me late for my other commitments, not to mention I desperately needed my dog groomed before going out of town. And to top it all off, they actually charged me a cancellation fee which is equal to half the cost of the service!! And they charged it to my credit card on file after I told them I didn't agree I owed I since they cancelled me! Businesses that treat their customers like this deserve to be out of business. This was a very nice play for my boy Dudley. Every morning for 4 days I brought him there for Paws Doggie Day Care program and every evening I picked him up happy and tuckered out. Everyone that I met from their staff was both friendly and helpful. The facility seems clean, prices are affordable and the care that Dudley got seemed to be impeccable. The deal was sealed for me the second morning I brought him and his nub was already wagging before I ever parked. He's brought me plenty of smiles in the 10 years I've had him but seeing him play on camera with all the other dogs as soon as he walked into the yard was one of the biggest. We started bringing our dog, Louie, to Paws in Paradise when he was just a puppy at the recommendation of the shelter we adopted him from. My husband and I are both new to Mt. P and work full time which is no problem for us, but it meant our pup wasn't getting the exercise and socialization he needed. We started taking Louie once a week for daycare and we loved that he came home exhausted--could barely keep his head up through dinner time--he'd just plop in bed and snore for the next twelve hours! Over time, the benefits of early socialization became apparent. Being around other older, more well-behaved dogs taught Louie how he should be acting as well--a HUGE bonus. We've since boarded Louie there a handful of times and are always pleased by how kind and knowledgeable the staff is. A few months back, my husband and I had an emergency family situation spring up in St. Louis and not only was the staff ready for Louie's boarding at a moment's notice, they posted plenty of pictures of him playing the whole week while we were away. It was comforting and definitely eased our grief to see our pup having a great time. Our only regret is that we won't be able to remain close to Paws in Paradise forever! So first time boarding my puppy here and I cannot say enough positive things regarding the facility! Super clean, dogs are always well taken care off, and they have excellent services. I had a couple unexpected things come up at work and they were more than accommodating :) with a shy three month old puppy. I didn't even know they had webcams you could view online however it was great to view periodically while out for work. What was even more pleasing was seeing the staff actually play with the dogs, and making sure everyone got along. This review is about two years late, but I still think about it enough to make it worth my time to write out. I brought my corgi here for a three day stay after completing his meet and greet. I had another place that I had boarded him when I lived in a different city and absolutely loved the care and attention they gave and was really hoping this to be similar. My dog is on medication, which I brought with me and thoroughly explained that he was to receive one pill that day and had already had his dose the day that I dropped him off. These instructions were also on the pill bottle that I supplied and it appeared that someone at the front desk had typed this information into the computer as well. Dropping off on Friday I called both Friday evening and Saturday to check on my pupper and was told he was doing great. On Sunday morning at around 8 AM I received a phone call that they were out of medication for my dog. I instantly knew that this was not possible as I had given them enough for his three days plus an extra pill in case one got dropped. Essentially they overdose my dog. The excuse was is that they weren't sure whether he had received his dose on the day of drop off so their policy is to just go ahead and give it "so the dog doesn't miss his medication". I had been available by phone, email, smoke signal, whatever and they didn't even bother to check...they also didn't bother to inquire either time I called. They said they then gave him his medication again on Saturday morning but cannot account for whether or not it had been given again Saturday evening. Since there were no pills left I have to assume that it was given. Being out of town, I had to arrange for a family member to come and pick up my dog and find a place for him to stay for the remainder of time that I was gone. My dog was absolutely snowed and was not himself for several days after. At the time that I had received the phone call from Paws in Paradise I had asked them to please have a manager or owner or someone with some authority to call me as I was very upset. I never received a phone call and when I reached out to them several days later I was told that they were expecting me to stop by and really seemed thoroughly unconcerned with what had happened. The lack of any kind of concern, empathy, or ability to communicate professionally with one another leads me to believe that these people absolutely do not care about the animals that they are serving. My dog very easily could have been seriously injured after being overdosed and they could not have cared less. The kicker was is that over a year later I received a phone call wanting me to know why I hadn't paid. My card was on file but had not been charged on it at the time and given my experience I assume they realized that they majorly screwed up and didn't charge me. read more

They separate the dogs by size and as the owner of a small dog im always skeptical of leaving her somewhere over night. I stopped in to get my dogs nails done and they did it so quick and well I thought they hadn't done it. The staff is very young and very dog friendly and after seeing all the animal play areas I can honestly say they'd probably rather be here than traveling in a car or through the airport. read more

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT take your pet here. We had taken our two dogs, golden retriever and black lab, to this "business" for about six months. Every time our dogs were picked up they had scratches, were limping, or were bleeding. Not to mention our golden had to go to the emergency vet because she had a corneal abrasion and both dogs always drank A TON of water after coming home (almost like they hadn't had awater all day). We called and asked to talk to the owner about what happened and she was VERY rude, defensive and completely dismissed us and what happened to our pup. We got our money back and our dogs never went back. This place has WAY too many dogs and the employees simply do not pay attention. I really do hope this place is shut down before another dog DIES due to a lack of paying attention on the staff and owners part. read more

Was very nervous leaving my dog anywhere but home, but this place was great. I was able to bring him in for a few hours and leave him there, while going home and watching him on a camera to see how it went. Since it went so well, we boarded him for the weekend in the cage free boarding and he did great! Being able to watch him all day long on the camera whenever we wanted to was a huge help too. I even caught staff members sitting down with the dogs and taking the time to sit and pet each one. Will definitely use Paws in Paradise again. read more

Cannot say enough good things about Paws In Paradise. I got my 1 year old Australian Shepherd a couple months ago and decided to take him to a daycare for socialization and play time while I'm at work. Against the recommendation of a friend and a trainer, I took him to another facility and only went a couple of times before I realized that, even though it's out of my way to get to work, it's 100% worth it. He gets to play ALL day and it makes me happy knowing he's having fun and not caged up or being stuck laying around. A testament to how much my dog loves this place - when I drive in the general vicinity of Paws in Paradise, he goes crazy like we're going to the dog park. Like most I was nervous about boarding my dog. Prior to my trip, the pup spent a couple of afternoons at doggie day care. Each time he came home he was exhausted from playing all day. The staff was great about easing my anxiety about leaving him for a weekend. I appreciated that I could check in on him via webcam. After picking up my dog I had to take her to the vet to get a shot to prevent an infection for a wound that was 2 days old and get a few stitches to close up the gash on her side. We decided to drop our 9 month old Cavalier King Charles for his first grooming due to the great reviews we read. Unfortunately our experience was not as positive as others. After we picked up our puppy we noticed he was acting a little different and that evening he had what appeared to be blood in his stool. We called our vet and they said to wait a couple of days-it may get better. That was not the case since his condition worsened. After bringing him to the vet all of the usual suspects were ruled out and the vet believed it may have been from an improper anal gland expression. We went to Paws in Paradise to express our concerns and were treated with hostility and total rudeness. I have never had such a terrible customer service experience in my life. The woman I spoke to was rude, inconsiderate, and showed no compassion for all that we and our puppy had been through over the past 6 days. I understand that animals (especially puppies) are curious and get into things they shouldn't but Paws in Paradise's lack of empathy was appalling. Needless to say we will not be returning to Paws in Paradise due to their lack of professionalism and customer service. read more

I DO NOT recommend Paws in Paradise. When I picked our 3 year old dog up after boarding her for a long weekend nothing was mentioned to me that she had been bit. When I got to the car I noticed she was crying and saw blood on her side. I took her back inside, and they said they had no idea about it and didn't know anything had happened. The owner came out who said "dogs sometimes play with their teeth." Our dog is not aggressive and has been to day care for several years now without incident. I told the owner I was going straight to the vet and she told me they do not comp vet bills. She never called to follow up with us and was very insensible. The wound site had to be drained and she was put on antibiotics for a week. I understand incidents happen, but the fact they had no idea when or how it occurred and also how they handled it once it was discovered makes me never want to trust them again with our pet. Paws in paradise is amazing Max had never been to doggie daycare before and he love it. I loved it as well because even when I was away I could use the doggie cameras to check in on him. The building was clean and did not smell. the staff certainly keeps up with the animals and when a dog poops it is picked up within seconds. We have taken our dogs to Paws in Paradise for the past several years and have always questioned if it was the right establishment based on the recent dog attacks and the death of a dog last year (pending lawsuit). Against our better judgment we continued to take our dogs back but will stop taking them there based on our last experience. They are incompetent and unorganized.
