Lindsay, In response to your passive aggressive poor excuse of a response, My DOG enjoyed HER TIME? As if you even know my animal, could vouch, or simply speak for her. Your staff kept calling HER a HE the entire time they ever interacted with HER or ME. I'm glad you now know it's HER, as I can tell from your capitalization skills. No, being cut up on her face she did NOT enjoy her time. And I definitely did NOT enjoy that as her owner and client who pays you. Shameful of you to even state that as your response. MY dog being hurt is not up to YOUR discrepancy as to what is acceptable or enjoyment on behalf of MY dog or ME. I was DENIED a tour, and told I could look on YOUR business instagram for photos. My boyfriend was NEVER asked his name, ID, NOTHING, you let my dog go with him without ANY questions asked. And you can refund the original card. THANKS! read more

The staff at the Pooch Palace are amazing human beings! We own two border collies, and when we pick them up they fall asleep before we even leave the parking lot. This is one of ours passed out waiting for a tennis ball to be thrown at the end of day care. We know our pups can be a bit much, with their high energy and constant attention on a ball. The staff here are absolutely wonderful and wear them out in ways my husband and I would never be able to do. When they get returned wet from the pool I know their level of exhaustion is to the max. read more

My Golden Retriever LOVES the Pooch Palace. If he hears us say those 2 words he immediately gets excited and we better be talking about getting in the car on heading over there pronto as he follows us around until we go out the door. He is always happy and tired when we pick him up. The staff has always been very responsive to any questions I have. read more

Our dog Andy went to daycare at Pooch Palace on 3/24/23. I was shocked (no pun intended) when I realized Andy was wearing a vibration training collar from the facility when he came home. I had no idea they used this on animals staying there. In fairness to the facility Andy is always happy to go there. I immediately called and of course went to voicemail. Did not hear back at all on Friday. I called and emailed on Saturday that I need to speak with someone. Still no response. Finally on Sunday night I got a call back from the owner of the facility who supposedly is a dog trainer. His response was less than satisfactory. Here are the highlights of the conversation and his response: * The collar is used to stop a dog from barking incessantly and is the equivalent of squirting a dog with water. When I asked if that is what Andy was doing - He had no idea and this was his assumption - HE HAD NOT BOTHERED TO SPEAK TO ANY PERSONNEL THAT WERE PRESENT!!! - * He was unable to call me before Sunday night because he slept all day on Saturday. Even if I was ok with use of the collar by the facility - it should be done as a training measure along with positive reinforcement by an actual trainer which the personnel were not - it should not be used solely as punitive. Obviously, Andy will never go back there - I felt compelled to share this experience. read more

My dog, Red, really loved going to Pooch Palace and always came back tired and happy. I travel a lot with Red but Charleston is my home and I brought Red here at least weekly when I was in town. In my travels I haven't really found another facility that provides what Pooch Palace does, which is why what happened to Red and the way Pooch Palace and, in particular, it's owner, Jeff Sutton, handled the following situation is incredibly disappointing. Right before Thanksgiving I got a call around 3:30pm from Katie at Pooch Palace to let me know they were taking Red to the emergency vet because his leg was sliced open by something at their facility. She was incredibly apologetic and said they didn't know how it happened. She stated there wasn't a fight and they were going to go through all the video footage to find out what injured my dog. She also told me that I wouldn't have to worry about anything and that Pooch Palace would cover the cost of Red's medical treatment. I met Red and one of the employees from Pooch Palace at the vet. Again, she was incredibly apologetic and I asked her about Pooch Palace covering payment and she told me that they were going to cover it and her manager told her to call the office before she left so she could give the vet the Pooch Palace credit card information. This information was never provided to the vet. Red was at the vet for the next 8 hours before I could take him home. Fast forward a month and the week before Christmas I received a call from Jeff Sutton, the owner of Pooch Palace, and he told me he will not cover the $950 bill and that his employees never told me Pooch Palace would cover the bill. He said maybe they said Pooch Palace would work with me to cover the cost. That is not what they said. He said Pooch Palace would cover $200 because that's what's in their contract. I'm not going to dispute the contract. But, I was given verbal confirmation and agreement by two different representatives from Pooch Palace that Pooch Palace would cover all the cost and I wouldn't have to worry about anything. Additionally, my dog didn't fall ill and wasn't in a fight with another dog. Something at their facility sliced my dog's leg open. They did tell me that they still don't know how it happened or what caused it and that several of their security cameras were broken. I can't imagine if my dog were smaller or if he had been sliced open on his stomach. The cut was so clean that the vet said it looked like Red was sliced with a razor blade. It is now the end of February and Jeff still hasn't paid the bill. The vet office (who have been fantastic through this whole ordeal) and I have both contacted Pooch Palace multiple times to inquire about payment and Jeff will not take or return any of our calls. I waited to write this review because I was hoping Pooch Palace would honor their word and pay the bill. But the vet's office is ready to send the bill to collections. $950 is a small expense for a successful business, especially one that just won "Best of Mt. Pleasant" and touts "safety first" on the front page of their website. I even suggested Jeff submit the claim to his liability insurance, which he refuses to do. Even after Red was injured by something at Pooch Palace, and before I received that call from the owner, I was ready to bring Red back there and board him over Christmas. I had even put down a deposit to hold a spot for him over the holiday but their inability to keep their word and do the right thing, means they lost, what would have been, a life long customer. I will never recommend Pooch Palace to anyone. read more

Bad first day at daycare. Our puppy was injured and had to have medical care. Not sure how it happened.

I'm trying to think of other things we could spend money and get this kind of value. Tiring out two young border collies takes some serious dedication, and someone here is clearly playing with them full time while they are there. Our house is the peaceful and serene place it should be when they come home. Sometimes they're still a little wet when they come out of the gate, but keeping a spare towel in the car is a small price to pay for knowing how much fun they've been having going nutso in that pool. The Pooch Palace - Post-Pooch Palace results - Pet Groomers Near Me - Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

Brought my dog to the North Charleston location for a trial day a couple days ago and didn't think to request a tour. I was told they had an Instagram page that they posted pictures on and to check it throughout the day and that I might see my dog on there. As I was scrolling through the previous days pictures, I noticed that their pool is green and full of algae. A perfect breeding ground for bacteria for these dogs to ingest and get sick. I also noticed as I drove away that the fence was warped and rotted, and in some spots it looks like it was chewed through, so I did a little bit of research. Apparently they've had multiple dogs escape, the most recent being in April and was missing for two weeks and was found in Ridgeville. One dog escaped and was found shortly after with a shock collar on; the owners had no knowledge of their dog having to wear one. I will not be bringing my dog back here. read more

Let my first say if I could give them a zero, I would! We have been using them for occasional doggie daycare and boarding for more then 5 years at both Mt pleasant and, more recently, the now-closed North Charleston locations. My husband called a week or so before we needed boarding because our dog hadn't been to this location for 3 years ( she was just at the other place 6 months before). They wanted us to Update the information and gave us new forms and information. We took care of forms and updating all needed shots that week. My husband took our dog there that morning before we were to fly out. After seeing the updated forms they informed him that our dog needed a dog Flu shot and couldn't stay. When asked where on the information form, it shows that it "They stated it was added after we made the reservations, they never contacted us on this during that week and acted as if we should have known. Then the unprofessional / Unhelpful 18-year-old or so said to my husband, " your reservations was for yesterday. " My husband corrected him and told him the exact dates he made the reservation for which he made in person while picking up their forms. The manager at that time was asked for. After speaking to that person, the question to them is; Why weren't we notified about the shot requirement change? Why we're we called that day "they thought we were to drop off our dog Bailey, when she wasn't there(we had never no-showed ). They have had our phone numbers for over 5 yrs . This all concluded with us trying to find at the last minute somewhere to take our dog without missing our flight. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL POOCH PALACE!! Not the way to treat loyal Long-time customers. I'll never trust you again, and I recommend others think twice unless they want this same nightmare situation. read more

Terrible. My dog's collar got chewed through by another dog and pooch palace made us pay for a new collar to just walk him out of the facility and soon after he came home with a large laceration on the base of his ear. Never going back. read more

My dogs love going to Pooch Palace! Everyone is very nice and excited to see my pups when we enter the door. The price is really reasonable. The only reason, I gave 4 stars over 5 is the drive from West Ashley. (But it is worth the drive) read more

So impressed with The Pooch Palace! We recently started bringing our dog, Dooley, to Pooch Palace's doggie daycare. We had an issue with another daycare in the area and Lindsey at Pooch Palace was amazing to work with to ensure this issue wasn't something that would prevent Dooley from being successful at Pooch Palace. I dropped him off today and Lindsey allowed me to watch him play for a while during our tour. He was so happy and having so much fun. I am so excited to have such a unique training based facility in Mt. Pleasant. read more

I really like this place and my dog must agree because when I say," Pooch Palace", she comes to stand next to me and looks up expectantly -- ready to go! The facility is surprisingly clean and comfortable -- what can I say? This doggy daycare is cleaner than most people's homes! They must mop that place twice a day or more -- the floor is spotless. The staff is always friendly and helpful and what's more, they are dog people. They know every dog by name, they get to know their personalities and seem to be very responsible and really proud of their work and listening to the dogs and owners with respect. They have a really healthy range of snacks and supplements available for purchase and usually have samples at the counter for your dog to try. You can learn a lot by looking at the charity opportunities they display around the room. My only child Weimaraner really loves the pool and plays so hard that she is beat by the time she gets home. The facility and the staff are top-notch and I consider Pooch Palace a real boon to our community. Check it out! read more

this place sucks so bad my dog went there twice and got his collars chewed through both times. just during the play hours we didn't even board him there. my good friend sent her pups there to get boarded and they came back with rashes on their neck from collars and an eye infection. y'all need help DO NOT SEND UR DOGS HERE!! read more

My husband and I recently moved to the Mt. Pleasant area and needed a doggy daycare for our 5 year old Walker Hound. Went to a place down the street but did not get a good, caring vibe at pick-up time - it was way too busy, which meant it didn't feel personal. Decided to try Pooch Palace and SO happy I did. It's like a cute little older house, with couches in the "suites" for the dogs to stay over night. The dogs are able to stay outside all day and play fetch, wrestle or even SWIM in the pool! Pooch Palace is also busy and popular, but not at the expense of a personal touch. The staff is excited to welcome Howard in the morning, and when I pick him up in the afternoon they tell me what he did during the day. This is a big plus for me, since hubs and I are obsessed with our furbaby. The only thing I was hesitant about was the "nap time" during the afternoon where they leave the dogs inside for a couple hours. I wanted Howard to be as tired as possible with no naps... but the nap time didn't seem to interrupt his exercise too much. He CRASHES when he comes home, and he's good for a couple days. Anyone with a hound knows how difficult it is to tire them out (which means peace and quiet ;). I also liked the fact that when I picked him up yesterday, one of the employees told me she had to stop throwing the ball for him and let him rest because he was going non-stop so long. THAT I love. The staff is aware of when enough is enough, so as not to overdo it with the exercise. One more tip: new customers have the opportunity for GREAT prices with a 10-day pass for only $100. Bought mine yesterday. read more

Dogs were happy when I picked them up, so that's what really matters, but the facility was very noisy at pickup time, right after designated "quiet hours". This was the first time we boarded them here and the staff gave us no info as to how they did, which I have come to expect from other facilities. Their beds were buried in a pile with everyone else's being picked up that day so our beds smelled awful (but we would have washed them anyway). When I got both dogs home and out of the car, I noticed that both of them had injuries! One had a shallow 1" long cut on the front of her shoulder (white fur so it was clearly visible) the other had an elbow that was pink and raw. I have thin-skinned dogs and when they run and play this happens, but I was more concerned that no one told me-I don't know if they even noticed. Cost for 2 large dogs for 2.5 days was nearly $200 (in a suite-no crates). Would takes my dogs back for short stays or daycare, but not sure I would leave them there for longer stays. read more

We have been taking our dog to Pooch Palace for a little over a year now and the staff always loved him (as everyone always falls in love with him). We got a puppy in October of 2020 and did a trial day and were given the okay to bring both dogs in to daycare! I was so excited to have that weight lifted off of my shoulders as to how I was going to get them the proper amount of exercise each day while having to work all the way in Goose Creek, but my prayers were answered by Pooch Palace! First day everything went smoothly. On the second day I get a phone call within an hour of dropping the dogs off stating our oldest dog got into an altercation with another dog but both dogs were fine. I was told the incident was unprovoked and that my dog went after the dog twice. I asked for footage and received a 4 second video of all of the dogs in the yard that only showed my dog and the other dog playing and then running out of view. I'll also add that I saw ONE person in the yard supervising what looked to be 20+ dogs. Just a few weeks ago I asked Lindsey (who I am assuming is the manager) if they had ever had any problems with our dog because he does show random signs of resource aggression. Lindsey assured me that there had never been a problem, he was simply an "aggressive player" and plays with similar dogs while he is there. After the incident on Tuesday I was told I had to get our dog cleared by a vet because Lindsey felt "something is definitely up with him." I was told I could not return to the facility unless he was wearing a muzzle. Minus the scar on his face-- the comprehensive exam, blood work, and all other labs yielded a clean bill of health and my dog was cleared by our vet. Recently, majority of the staff has turned over at the Mt. Pleasant location. In the two days I had to pick my dogs up I witnessed the staff bring out 3 different dogs that DID NOT belong to the customer standing there. I witnessed a dog manage to free himself from a leash AND collar and flee towards the door. I assisted in getting the dog back before he could push the door open and run outside towards the road. We do not believe in muzzles nor has our dog ever been aggressive. I tried to wager with Lindsey that it was a misunderstanding and simple playing but she told me she would not be backing down. Bottom line is, we weren't long standing customers at Pooch Palace quite yet but we had planned to be. Based on the treatment we have received over the last week...WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO POOCH PALACE IN MOUNT PLEASANT. read more

Great place for you sporting breed dog. The pool is something my dog loves and you don't find it at most places. Competent staff. Btw, dropping your dog off for daycare means you assume certain risks. Being around other energetic dogs, they may come home with a bump or bruise. And, daycare means they may also catch whatever is going around in the canine world. A cough or whatever. With that said, the benefits of dog daycare (socialization and a variety of exercise) far outweigh any possible negatives. My dogs have gone to daycare for years. Way, way better than a dog park. And, it provides some relief for those of us with very active and energetic dogs. Nothing like putting him in the car after a daycare session and having him fall sound asleep. Thanks to Pooch Palace. read more

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not bring your dogs here. I have been told horror stories about this place. There is a reason that there are so many new faces in this company. The good employees who actually loved and cared about your dogs either left or got fired due to how Pooch Palace treats the dogs. Your dogs are not safe there. They correct the dogs if they are being bad and some people are not gentle about it. Some dogs have even gotten kicked and verbally abused. They are told to grab some dogs by the collar and hold them off the ground if they do not respond to corrections. Most clients are unaware of these situations because employees are instructed not to tell the clients certain things. Some owners do not know that their dog wears an electric collar while in Pooch Palace's care. They have had multiple dogs escape due to negligence and holes in fences. A client said there was an employee who seemed high while working. There were multiple dogs swimming in pool water that was green. They say there is always someone monitoring the dogs but someone only goes out to the little dog yard to take pictures and then leave the little dogs unattended. Please be cautious of this establishment. read more

This place is great. If you were a dog you'd want to stay here. Prices are steep but glad to have our dog here

My dog was a rescue dog, so it took years for him to open up to people. We took him to another place which t was clear he didn't like and he got sick while in their care. So we found Pooch Palace in North Charleston. He LOVES this place. He comes home exhausted from playing with the other dogs, and begs to go to daycare in the morning. ITs crazy!!! The caregivers know him by name and my dog loves them. I never thought he would open up to any people , much less other dogs! But being at this place has been a blessing. He is the only child, so now he has friends to play with. We take him 3 times a week. They have a pool that he loves going on. We didn't know he could swim!! He was always so shy and scared. Pooch Palace has helped my dog open up and we love it here! The staff also loves dogs, which makes it a lot easier. They are located near industrial buildings and would be hard to miss if you aren't looking. Bring your dogs here! Trust me! read more

I absolutely love the folks at the Pooch Palace! The night before a trip out of town my dog ate a whole bottle of prescription doggie pills (yum!). Of course I had to rush my dog to the vet before hopping on a plane but the Pooch Palace picked her up from the vet for me, administered her medicine, and by the time I was back in town and picked her up days later she was the picture of health (just a little pooped from playing all day with the other dogs). They took the weight off of my shoulders by helping with the stressful turn of events and rolling with the punches. They're always so courteous, kind and helpful! And the dogs love it there too! read more

I took my dogs here every time my husband and I went out of town in the 3 1/2 years we lived in Charleston. Actually, we lived in North Charleston, almost in Summerville. It was worth it every time we needed to board the dogs to make the hike to Mt. Pleasant. The staff was always friendly and the facilities seemed perfect for our dogs. We went from having the dogs cry at the gate when we'd leave to having the dogs bolt towards the playing area without saying bye! They would come home exhausted, but so happy. I almost shed a tear the last time we left Pooch Palace, knowing there's not a place as wonderful as this at our new home. read more

Poor customer service. I called ahead and asked for a tour since I was considering taking my dog there. I got there around 5:30pm (the time I said I would be there) and a very rude girl at the front said that it was a busy time and they can't give a tour. I said I understand but why didn't they tell me that when I called ahead (I traveled quite a way to get there). She was rude and after checking with the manager told me I'd have to come back later. Needless to say I will not be back and was not impressed. The facility looked sketchy and it is a bad sign when they don't have enough staff or decline a tour to a potential customer. I've taken my dog to wonderful dog day camps and boarding before and they never acted like that. read more

My experience with the Pooch Palace was not a pleasant one. My dogs had been to the Pooch Palace for day care and I decided to leave them for one night of boarding. I called to check on them a few times and was told they were doing great each time. When I arrived to pick them up, one of my dogs was wearing a shock collar. I was not pleased with this in the least. I asked the staff member why it was on and he didn't even realize she was wearing it, which was very concerning. No where in their application or release forms did I see that this is a method they use for correction nor was I informed about it when I called to check on my dogs. Upon follow up on the incident the following day, I was informed that my dog was barking too much. My dog does not bark excessively. Needless to say, I will never take my dogs to this facility again. read more

Beware! I had my dog attend day care 3 times and each time there was only one person there for over 16 dogs. And that person was not even supervising the dogs as they were up front talking to me.
