Everyone was very friendly and acted like they were really happy to work there and take care of animals. The place was immaculate and smelled good too! After we left, I checked to see if there were any K9 Resorts near us - the closest is about 2-3 hours away in Cleveland. My husband and I both agreed, that if we have to board the dog again, we would drive the 2-3 hours to Cleveland and fly out of there. They were that good.

I only discovered it myself after picking her up. When you leave your pet in the care of a facility, you expect close supervision and immediate communication if something is wrong. Cherry eye is not something minor, it's a visible eye condition that requires attention, especially for breeds that are already prone to eye problems. The most concerning part of this situation was the lack of notification. As a pet owner, I should have been informed right away so I could make decisions about her care. Daycare staff are responsible for monitoring the dogs and reporting injuries or health concerns when they happen. That communication did not occur, and that breaks trust. I hope the facility improves its health monitoring and owner communication procedures, so this does not happen to another dog.

Ashley locations…read more I have to be honest, had I seen these reviews before, I'm not so sure I would have gone here, but my niece knew someone who had boarded their dogs here and didn't have a bad experience and we were in a real bind. Here's my story: My planned pet sitter bailed on me with less than a week before my trip, so I needed a quick plan of action and, like I said someone I knew also knew someone who had boarded their dogs at the "Mt. Pleasant location" (not specified which one) and I recalled having been told this was a good place to get a dog groomed as well from someone. (Obviously didn't check my yelp directory first). Contacted the Hwy 17 location, told them of my predicament and they advised me that I needed to bring the dog in for a trial daycare prior to boarding. Mind you, I am calling over the weekend and I will need to bring in my pup on Wednesday afternoon due to an early Thursday morning flight. So, I fill in all the paperwork, bring my dog in Monday, all goes well, blah blah blah, but THEN they tell me they do not have any suites available for the time we will be gone, only kennels (cages). They say I am free to call any other location to see if they have suites available and it will be no problem to switch my reservation. I contact the W. Ashley location and, they say they have room, yes a suite, but, no, I do have to bring my dog in for a trial day care at their location, different dogs, different layout, blah blah blah.... Drop off and pick up here do not go so well. I have to say the people working the front desk at this location are not the brightest I have ever met. No one was expecting me for her drop off, or her pick up, it was a mess! Then, I get a call from Taylor, the manager, who is all confused about what is going on, I explain the situation to her, she finally understands and sorts out the situation. So - kudos to Taylor. She made the best out of a messy situation. Even at dropoff on Wednesday, it just didn't go that smoothly, the "system shows someone in her suite", etc. nothing could go smoothly. At pickup same thing, I had a 10% off first boarding and the young woman didn't know how to take the discount. So, I give them four stars because they really helped me in a bind and my dog was fine when I got home. However, this place clearly needs some work on its staff training.

On neighborhood recommendation, I called Ziggys this morning (on a Sunday) and by chance someone answered. Even though they don't normally work Sundays, they said to please bring the dog in that day and they would groom her for free because they are passionate about animal rescue. They were so patient and kind and spent 3 hours grooming her for FREE in the middle of COVID!! God bless these people.

One of the things that means the most to us is how Buck never seems nervous when we drop him off. That peace of mind is everything. When we pick him up, he always looks happy, like he had the best time playing with all his doggy friends. I swear he sleeps like a rock when he gets home--clearly he's had a blast!!! The folks at Paw Plaza go above and beyond to make sure she's comfortable. On her recent visit, she made a new friend, Emma, who was lonely after losing her sibling. The staff let Emma and Lucy have some "old-lady play time" and they were able to enjoy each other. Paw Plaza gave my baby her special meds , treats and food just as if she were home with me.
