I've been taking my dogs to PetsMart Groomers in Millville for almost 8 years. Aside from a few isolated incidents, my dogs have always received a good grooming experience and look/ smell great. My experience however, has gotten progressively worse and after today I am officially done with them. Normally i schedule my dogs grooming appointments when my husband is available to help. I have two 150lb Newfoundlands and one has a fused back knee so he can't walk well or jump. My husband is a first responder and unfortunately he was called into work last minute. Rather than cancel the appointment last minute, I asked my parents to drop everything they were doing and help bc I also have my three year old son. I would not wish managing two 150 dogs and a three year old alone in a public on my worst enemy. Their appointment was at 1:00pm, but my parents had a tight schedule so I bought them in at 12:25pm. YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT I COMMITTED AN ATROCITY with the way they were looking at me. How dare I bring my dogs in 35 mins early? They are no cages in the back to hold them while they finish shaving the poodles paws. Go WALK around the store for 35 minutes because no one is allowed to be late or early for an appointment. Needless to say I cancelled the appointment and left. The constant attitude I have received time and time again from the staff here is unbearable. I bit my tongue at every smart remark and eye roll but I'm paying $300 + including tip just to be treated like shit and god knows what they are doing to my dogs when I'm not there. Save your time & money go to a small business groomer. At least they appreciate your business. read more

Come here every once in a while for the dogs and I do buy my waxworms and horned worms here for my Jackson chameleon but the prices really push me away . They have a good amount of items for reptiles, dogs and cats, most of it high end I guess you can call it. The prices are high on every item in the store which really makes this a pointless option for most products considering the online options today. The people here are nice but not really the most knowledgeable in my opinion. They did have a cute little vailed chameleon though. read more

I've always shopped at pet smart and petco but recently every time I go the animals there are ether out of water or food or sometimes even both. I don't believe that they care about these animals at all. I went last week and there was a big hamster on a very tiny tiny wheel which was heartbreaking because the poor back on that little guy. I've gone and seen DEAD fish in small little containers which is just awful itself that they are in them let alone dead and not being taken care of because I bet they don't open each container to feed them. While I prefer the Petsmart in Woodbury/Deptford to this one, the Millville Petsmart is much closer to my home, so I go there by default. The store is extremely clean and the animals are well kept. I have never seen a dirty cage or a sickly animal there. They do not sell puppies there of any kind. They only sell cats from the SPCA (which they rotate stock with to increase the chances of adoption.) They have a small selection of small animals, reptiles and birds. They also have a decent, but not impressive selection of fish. They do have a good selection of aqaurium products though. The kids love watching the dog groomer on site where you can observe the animals being groomed. I inquired as to the services they offer and whether they do cat grooming there. They said they discourage cat grooming and that it will cost an arm and a leg because cats are so difficult to groom. They flatly refused to groom cats with fleas. Interesting... but I don't know anything about groomers, so what do I know? The store welcomes animals to wander the aisle with their owners. The store is always mobbed with people and their pups... the kids get a kick out of that too. I'm not thrilled with the store, but it's okay. I know PetSmart gets a ton of bad press but Millville grooming salon by far is the best salon I have ever used. They go out of their way to make my 5 dogs comfortable. They have been under new management since April 2017 and I can see the difference. Everytime I go, I feel welcomed and they greet my dog by name. It saddens me to see all the past comments being held against them because I know how hard they have worked to overcome all that over the years, not to mention they even have rehired a whole new staff n a new Salon manager since then. We went in to get a fish and the lady that was at the fish area was very rude when we said what fish we wanted and what size tank we had for it. It wouldn't have been so bad if she was nicer about it. She had a very bad attitude when she talked to us. But they also offer great prices every day on thousands of pet care products and animal food. Their sale prices are even better. I'm not particularly pleased that they sell birds, fish, reptiles and rodents. That seems to contradict the good works they do with dogs and cats. The Millville store is one of the smaller PetSmart stores in South Jersey, but they seem to have a good inventory of supplies in spite of that. I've always had good experiences in the store which is why I enrolled my 3-legged pit bull in dog training classes there. On the first night of class, my shy dog was clearly not cut out for the group class environment and the trainer felt so bad that she offered to do one-on-one training on the nights no other dogs would be there. She didn't have to do that, she could have told me to go elsewhere for training. Instead, the personalized classes went very well and my dog really connected with her. Having only 3 legs, my pit can't do everything a 4-legged dog can do and the trainer was incredibly patient (with my dog and me as well) as we tried to figure out work-arounds for some of the exercises. Being it's the only true pet store in the area, i like the place just for the fact it's convenient. I have had some not so great experiences in the past with this store, one being lack of help on the sales floor. I visit Petsmart once or twice a week, and i have learned the best time to go is when the store opens. The cashiers are pleasant, but are all very slow and they seem half asleep IMO. I love the fact that you can bring the pooch in there and it's usually an enjoyable exp. It's the only pet store in the area and that's why I think most people go there but their grooming is horrendous when dogs are done they look absolutely awful and i think people don't know what their dog is really supposed to look like and that's why they continue to use them. Petsmart does have a good variety of different things but the prices are high for most things. Most of the employees are nice and helpful though. I would never get my dog groomed there though. The grooming salon is absolutely perfect. From scheduling an appointment, to picking up my dog when its over, everything goes at ease. The low price makes it an even better experience to smile about. I took my dog there today for grooming as a present to him for his "10th" birthday. His regular groomer named Amanda, did an incredible job as she does year round. Today was extra special because she noticed on their computer system that today was his birthday, so she surprised us all with a Happy Birthday treat for him at the end.
