We've always had great service here; we've used their drive up service during Covid and they're always fast and friendly. Prior to Covid, we adopted our kitten Kiki through Soul Dog Rescue here. The staff were great in helping us through the process, and Kiki was in excellent health. They let us visit and play with her in the store prior to adoption to make sure she was the right fit for us. We also buy fish for my daughter here, and the staff is so kind in helping her choose and making sure we have the right mix and healthy water. This is a great place to shop! read more

I took my dog to this location (he's very experienced with being groomed and is trained) he has multiple cut marks on his bloody paws and his nails are cut far too short and split He also has a cut on his nose. Upon arrival the groomer put their leash around his neck and started choking my perfectly still dog I thought he was just coughing at first until I grabbed the leash around his neck and had to yank him free while still in her hand. What a horrible experience at this place. I brought my dog in to be groomed as he has been groomed many times before. At the expected time they did not call me so I called to check in on him. I was told he was "being difficult" so they needed to give him a break. This has never happened before, but I totally supported that idea. When he was finally ready, I went to pick him up and decided ahead of time that I would give a $20 tip since they had to no doubt spent extra time with him and it sounded like a very kind thing to do to give him a little break. I was greeted at the door with, "he peed all over the door. " I wasn't quite sure what to do at that point. I wasn't sure if I was to clean up after Reggie or give them extra money or?? Clearly letting him out during the five hours that he was there was not on their radar . Also, I quite expected somebody to say, " oh this is what happened", or "this is why he needed a break", but nobody said anything. I laid the $20 on the counter and said, "well this is for the groomer" who I'm pretty sure was Lindsay but not one single person acknowledged me. On top of all this they also nicked him and nobody said anything about that. It's pretty pricey to get your dog groomed here and I think the fact that there is not 1 ounce of customer service was really sad. Store is not well kept at all. There's dirt and grime on the floors in some areas, fish tanks and betta cups are absolutely neglected as there was major algae/cloud build up and i'm sure ammonia levels for the betta cups are really high. There were at least three bettas dead on the end cap. The only good thing is it's a big store so there's lots of room which is nice and it wasn't busy. read more

This store needs some serious attention. I came in here looking for some calming chews for my dog and what should've been a 5 minute grab-and-go took closer to 30. The store looks like it was looted by goblins. There's hardly any products on the shelves (at least the aisle I was in) and what's on the shelves is in total disarray. The employees are nowhere to be found, minus the lady at check out. I spent 30 minutes trying to research which of 2 products I should buy, but that probably would've gone quicker if there was someone there to answer my questions (or at least give their opinion) about the products they sell: CBD or hemp chews? Which one's better/safer? Which one's going to calm my poor girl down since car rides freak her out all of a sudden? It was a damn ghost town. read more

PetSmart Dog Training - Need more cashiers ASAP! - Pet Training Near Me - Longmont, Colorado

A month ago, I was very satisfied with this store, since I went there after having a not so great experience at the Petsmart in Thornton. I brought my 4.5 month old yellow lab pup to use a coupon for a free bath and claw trim. The claw trim was the main need, since labs obviously don't need much in the way of baths or grooming. They were pretty booked that day, however, and explained that I would need to drop him off for up to 3 hours in order to get a bath, so I paid $11 to just get his claws trimmed. As the groomer pointed out, the coupon didn't expire until March 31, so I agreed to book an appointment for the next time I brought him back. Which is exactly what I did, just one month later. In fact, I spoke to the same groomer, and she even remembered him, and told me to bring him in at 2:00. When my fiance brought him in, however (after driving 30 minutes to get there), the manager (CANDACE) made the arbitrary decision that he was TOO OLD to qualify for the free puppy bath offered on the coupon, because she was certain that he's older than 6 months. This is where it gets really ridiculous - because: A) He is 5.5 months old - not 6. B) He is only 45 lbs, since he is a smaller breed of lab. C) Nowhere on the coupon or the puppy coupon book (a gift from my mom) does it say ANYTHING about any limitations on size, weight, or age. D) The definition of "PUPPY" can be found on any bag of puppy food sold in the store, where it says "for dogs up to one year old." Just so there was no misunderstanding, my fiance pointed out all the above, and also the time and gas she spent going there. CANDACE would not budge, however. NOPE. To add insult to injury, after the claw trim was finished, the total bill was FIFTEEN DOLLARS ($15) - not the $11 I paid last time. A mobile groomer could have come to our house and done it for $12!!! (Yeah, he desperately needed the trim, so she had that done anyway while she was there.) I am in stunned disbelief when my fiance gets back home after nearly 3 hours and tells me this whole story. So as a reality check, I called the Thornton store and asked about their policy. I was advised there that they would have done the same thing, since only "small puppies" qualify for the free bath coupon. I pointed out all the above, but got nowhere with their reasoning. I then called corporate to speak to customer service, but seriously doubt I'll see any resolution to this asinine incident. Moral of the story: support small businesses. Big chains like Petsmart get away with this type of thing all the time, and today proved once again they could care less about customer service or even fair policies. I took my dog here for her first post Covid grooming. I couldn't be more disappointed in the sheer incompetence of their staff. They needed her vaccination records. Fair enough. I even showed them the rabies sticker on the page. But because it says RV and not Rabies Vaccine they couldn't take her in and suggested I should come in during the work week, when I'm you know, working. If they can't read or understand a basic sticker, then I wouldn't trust them with my fur baby. read more

I will NEVER EVER come here again! I can't believe I even gave them another chance!! A few years agi, I brought in my Shiatzu for a grooming, and when I picked hime up one of his eyes was watering with a little blood. I asked them what happened and they told me he "twitched" and nicked him in the eye with rhe scissors. A few days later, his eye became white and foggy. I went back and they denied anything ever happened. Today, I brought my Tebetan Terrier/Poodle in. I told them how I want her cut. She went in looking like a sheepdog and came out looking like a greyhound! I was IRATE! I didn't even recognize my own dog. I can't believe I put my trust in them again! That will never happen again! This is just regarding the state of the store. It is so dirty, disheveled and covered in urine! You couldn't really see the fish and turtles because the tanks were so dirty! I actually feel sorry for the fish. The merchandise was not nearly kept and the other animals were also in shocking conditions. Not sure how this store hasn't been shut down for sanitary reasons. I would think I am the best target customer with 4 dogs whom I love dearly and spend ALOT of money on them with full health insurance and regular grooming. We inherited a new member of our family that was cared for by Banfield and Pet Smart grooming so we decided to take her there because it was familiar to her. It would have been hard to have a worse experience. We had a 9:30am appointment for grooming. We expected a call back by noon at the very latest. We called at 12:30pm and they hadn't even started. Sensing our frustration they said she would be ready in 30-45 minutes. 2 hours later she was finishing up. This is not acceptable in so many ways. The grooming shop is very disorganized, overcrowded, and there is no place to sit and wait. The groomers are very nice but they are working with a management problem. During our wait we had the opportunity to shop. Terrible inventory, far overpriced. Sales associates gossiping and never once offered to assist. The delay also gave us a chance to discuss future care plans so I decided to ask for the dogs health records. They politely accommodated my request with zero identification. Really - any stranger can walk up, give you an owner name (not the same as mine), and you give them the entire health record? So....Pet Smart blew it big time today and lost a potentially lucrative customer. I'm sticking with my awesome vet and groomers. Bottom line, they just didn't seem to care about my customer experience or the unnecessary stress the caused my dog through their disorganization. My advice...don't let the convenience or perceived quality of a big chain pet store fool you. There are too many family owned businesses that will serve you so much better. read more

A recent visit had shoppers backed up to the back of the store (at least 15 parties) and all you could get was excuses--the typical "oh we are understaffed today (it is like this everytime I go) or the convenient "due to Covid..." If I could give a lower rating I would! They completely botched my dog!!! She is a Shitzu/bichon mix, only 7 months old. I told them to leave her face, ears and tail long and they cut it all off. There are places on her coat, especially the legs that weren't cut at all!! She looks awful with bizarre random long hair patches. She was so upset when I picked her up that I'm worried she was mistreated. I've been trying to reach the grooming manager to complain but have been kept on hold for an hour now only to be told she's on vacation and won't be back until next week. read more

I have a prescription for cat food and the number the cashier needs is on a photo stored on my cell phone. This is the 3rd time I've been in and the cashier took the phone out of my hand to read the number. Anyone with just a little common sense would know better. I took my dog here to get his nails clipped. They were pretty long because we just rescued him. Pet smart told me that they couldn't cut them because they were already too long? I went and checked out after. Came back and they told me that they also couldn't clip them because he tried to bite them. I gave up and went somewhere else. They ended up clipping his nails and he was calm. I'm not sure what goes on when they clip dogs nails but my dog wouldn't bite a soul unless he really disliked something. The manure of the workers was off as well. Just unfortunate that the level of professionalism wasn't there. read more

Specifically talking about their dog training program. We enrolled both our lovely pups into the program, being sure to pick dates that would work for us as my fiance works over seas and was leaving on a specific date. However, half way through the class, the trainer (only one in the store, apparently) got a better job and left. That in and of itself, is okay...but, observe the following: 1. No one called us to set up make up classes or to inform us on the situation. 2. When we called, we were told someone would be in touch. 3. When we didn't hear anything and went in "as we would for normal class"...the way they dealt with us? "Did someone call you for a make up class? We can't figure out why you AND THE OTHER DOG IN THE CLASS showed up today..." 4. When we went in to explain, again, even though we had done so before enrolling in the class that we couldn't do it after x-date...they gave us a 50% refund. Um, lame. Not what we wanted, either. Things they could have done to make us happy: 1. Offered to do the class as a "private training" and get it done with in time (which, they said we could do...if we paid for the hours (which we had as a part of the class), which was like an additional...$60/hour). 2. Refunded the entire amount in store gift cards (we spend tons of money at pet stores...) so that we didn't feel cheated. 3. Called and kept us informed, and/or allowed us to take the class again later, when my fiance was home as I can't work two dogs at once. All in all? Need pet training? Buy a book, go to the humane society, whatever. DO NOT GO TO PETSMART. They're guarantee is lame, they don't stand by their word, and just general? Don't help you with your pup. read more

This is reaponse to Nicole M. About the store not being freindly to rescue groups. We have adopted pet from there many times. We never had a problem except for when we tried to go adopt another cat and they only had 2. 1 had no paperwork that it had a rabies shot and the other one was outrageous adoption fees. We went back several times to see if maybe they had more and there weren't any new ones for over a month. The rescue they were working with was RezDawg and I have spoken several times to several employees and managers and they said that they had promised on multiple occasions they were bringing more and they never showed up. They currently have a group who brings cats multiple times and the adoption fee is way more reasonable than RezDawg. So unless you are from RezDawg thats the only reason you would say that. RezDawg is completely UNRELIABLE. read more

I have to disagree with Kimberly B. I went through puppy training (8 week class) with Andrew the trainer back in August. After graduating from puppy class, we enrolled in the next set of classes (8 weeks) again with Andrew. Only one time was there a miscommunication with a canceled class. The manager of the store gave us some discount coupons to make up for the inconvenience. Andrew is a great instructor and at ~$100 for an 8 week class, you can't beat the price. read more

The staff was more interested in talking to one another about what dog just used the restroom in their kennel, than helping myself and another customer that was standing at the check-in desk. After being ignored I was finally "helped", and I do use this term lightly, I was rudely told that my dog would have to wait three hours to be groomed after I went through the process of making an appointment. I would give 0 stars if I could. I have gotten my dog groomed consistently for a while now and this was my first and last time trying this PetSmart. I know how my dog is behavior wise and how he is supposed to look after getting groomed. He is very fluffy and you can tell when he has been brushed and groomed properly. He also has no history of behavioral issues or barking or yelling or doing anything like that and he likes the groomers. When I came to pick up my dog he ran to me and coward behind me and I was told that he cried the whole time. He was still wet and you could see that no one had brushed him at all. He was a mess and the service was absolutely terrible. He was shedding even in the car ride home. I have never received any complaints from other groomers about him. I wish I had read the reviews before taking him there. I took him to our usual PetSmart a couple weeks later cause he needed a proper grooming still and told them of my experience and they told me that they had heard of stories like this at this location and told me not to go back. Do not take your dog to this location, they will mistreat your pet! read more

I make an appointment for 12:00 then I get a call 5 minutes before 11:00am telling me they can take him at 11:00 but not 12:00 really? Then I call them to tell them I can make it at 11:30 but no way I can be there in five minutes, Alyssa says to me "that's going to put me behind, but that's fine". I get there with UP TO DATE SHOT RECORDS, but no they can't take my dog because there's no expiration date on the shots? What? First time I've ever heard of something like that!!! It's simple you don't want to groom my dog because you will get off work late? Then A. Don't let me book him at 12:00 and B. Tell me so... that way I don't have to waste my time... or gas... in bringing him to you!!! For the record my dog had been there before, and not once have they asked for his shot records, even though I always bring them!!! Do yourselves a favor, and take your dog elsewhere! read more

So disappointed in the cut my golden received. There are definitely patches of fur that missed the clippers all together and most importantly a patch of fur MISSING from his front side. Luckily its not too noticeable when he stands but it's frustrating that I paid for a service I am not happy with. I will try to upload the pic that I have. It is hard to see clearly but if you look close you'll see a spot the size of my fist missing fur! We bathe our dog every 3 to 4 weeks so it's not like he's unfamiliar with this process. read more

I want to shout out Ethan and Haley in the fish department! They are SO great! My boyfriend and I just moved to Longmont, decided to get a fish tank! We got all of our fish with Pets Mart and have loved it since! We unfortunately had a case of Ick! . I called before going in to see if there was anything they could do to help. Being a new fish owner myself but a big animal lover, they helped me with the returns of my dead fish, and new filters, and some different water purifier treatments. They were both so kind so knowledgeable, and made me feel so much better about taking care of such a foreign animal for me! Thank you you two! We'll be back once our tank is cleared up! read more

This is more about Petsmart in general, rather than this specific store. I recently lost my PetPerks card and tried to get a replacement. For some reason, they no longer provide the cards and blithely told me that I could either give my phone number at checkout OR log into the PetPerks site, click on my PetPerks number and bring up a barcode for them to scan. I have two major problems with this: 1) I am NOT giving out my phone number in a public place for goodness knows how many people to hear and 2) when I log into PetPerks.com there is NO number to click on. Contacting Petsmart customer service results in having to wait TWO DAYS before anyone bothers to respond. This is ridiculous! How can a nationwide company have such dreadful customer service?! We just have a cat and you can't teach a cat anything but she is getting older and needs a special food that our vet recommended. We couldn't find it anywhere except her at Pet's Mart. She showed me how to use "quiet," crate training, leash walking and so much more. She really understands dog behavior and body language. It is easy to find help at this store, and the employees are friendly and knowledge. We were approached by two different employees who asked if we needed help. we did not have to wait in line once we were ready to check out. The prices were about the same as petco, other than the sale items that were cheaper at pets mart. We easily found items that we needed that were not in stock (shelf was empty) at petco. read more

*Missing Groomers* I have been a long time grooming client of Michelle. I called to make an appointment, only to be told that all of their groomers have left, and that my specific groomer is gone. They told me that she has left the industry to "find another life purpose". THIS IS A LIE! I have found her. She is operating her own salon in Firestone, CO. We went to buy a cat that we fell in love with at petsmart arranging it all with an employee. Later, when our application for the cat had been approved, we went to be it up, only to find that it was already sold to someone else! this was due to an employee error. But when we asked for an explanation from the manager, we only got the flustered employee running back and forth between us, delivering messages. It made us feel like the manager didn't care about our crying children and how disapointed we were, standing there with an empty cat crate.He didn't even take time out of his day to come talk to us. (The above was written by my 12-year-old daughter was obviously very upset about the situation). I am sure that Petsmart management learned from this error. The manager did research the problem to find out what had happened which I did appreciate and I'm pretty sure the sobs of my 9-year-old were enough to remind them of the importance of double-checking pet adoption approvals before notifying potential adopters in the furture. This is in reference to their grooming First of all, I had started out at the Loveland store to get my dog's claws clipped and I guess their bather called out. This is evidently a new policy that means they can't do any walk-in services while their is not a bather. There is something wrong with this policy and the "walk-in" aspect of the service. They told me to come back three hours later. Um ok. Not the people that made it in's fault so I really couldn't be upset with them. I was headed out of town, so I stopped by the Longmont store. The girl at the counter seemed annoyed that I was there from the beginning. Not friendly at all. My dog was a bit anxious from the car ride and did not want to be there. She wiggles so it usually take two people to do this. I tip very well because I know she can be a bit of a pain. Two girls tried clip her for about two minutes before giving up. I was at the register (right outside the saloon) paying when one of the girls told me they were unable to complete the service because she was too hyper. Seriously. This is your job. This is what you come into work to do. I will never be back. read more

This is specific to the grooming services. I called in an appointment for my 3 little dogs and scheduled grooming a week away. I showed up a few minutes early with my 3 dogs, and they only had the one scheduled for a grooming. I left and said I would reschedule. I used the web this time and ensured all 3 dogs were on the schedule. Now, I've been taking these 3 dogs to this petsmart for several years. I showed up a few minutes before 7am and waited until 7:15 for anyone to show up in the grooming department. I dropped them off and went about my business. During their grooming today, I received a phone call telling me the min-pin would not be serviced because he was too aggressive (remember, these same 3 dogs have been here many many times before). They were supposed to be done by 11am. They weren't finished until almost 1pm. The service here has gone downhill since their head groomer left. I won't be returning. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I made an appointment for my dog to get groomed over a week in advance for today at 1:30pm. My husband brought our dog in (with our one year old which is a lot of work getting a dog and a one year old in one place for an appointment) for her appointment and was told she didn't have an appointment. He immediately called me and told me what happened and so I thought to myself, okay maybe I told him the wrong place and her appointment was supposed to be at petco instead. So I looked through my phone records and sure enough, I made the appointment for PetSmart. I called to talk to the manager who was at lunch and was told she would call me back when she returned for her lunch. I said okay that's fine and gave them my information. After I hung up, I called petco and told them what happened and I was told that I was the sixth person to tell them that exact story from what happened at PetSmart. Meanwhile, the manager, Michelle called me back about fifteen minutes later and told me a million excuses as to what happened with the appointment. She first told me their systems have been deleting appointments and that it wasn't their fault. Then she said they didn't even have a profile for my dog. Then she said the groomer that was scheduled to groom my dog was injured and all of her appointments were being moved and told me they called me to tell me that. Bull. I didn't receive any notification for this and called her out for lying to me. I asked her what she could do for me for this huge inconvenience and she said they would squeeze me in on Thursday even though I told her I could only do Mondays when my husband was off work. I then told her that petco could get me in much earlier and was willing to go above and beyond for me since Michelle wasn't willing to do anything for me. All she said was okay bye. I will never ever recommend PetSmart grooming to anyone. Stay away! read more

The guy that picked up the phone told me customer service were stupid and I needed to "just hold on, I need to find something to write with. Longmont's Pet's Mart is great. It is always well stocked and kept clean. My cat requires a special food and they always have it handy. The people whi work here are friendly and know where everything is. Easy parking too. Highly recommend. read more
