First time visiting this pet store. They carry the prescription food for my dog. I loved ordering through their app. It checks stock and the app emails me on status. I had to upload my vets paperwork. In 2 days, my order was ready for pickup. The amazing service was their pickup area. They clearly make the bags with our name. I like that it's self service and I don't have to wait for a busy staff person to help me. read more

I took my American bully to get Bath & Full Haircut with FURminator with Jade H. Before arriving I received a call saying they could not service the FURminator because his allergies. So she say she will use hypoallergenic shampoo in the use of what they would typically use for that service. I agreed to still continue to come, although the main reason was for the FURminator . Once arrive, she took it upon herself to do a full exam of the dog before taking him back. She saw the rash on his belly and stated that was no problem. She then looked at his toenails and one of his toenails was split because they need to be cut due to his toenail being long. She said she needed to go get confirmation if she could still service because his toenail... it was not bleeding, his toenail has been split well for over a week and a half . He has already seen a vet 8/25/25 as well as she has seen the documentation from the vet. She suggested me taking him to the vet again . Again, his toes aren't swollen, he isn't bleeding or anything . Walks and jumps fine. Just a spilt nail, due to being long. She brings some guy over who is looking through the glass door to the lobby (examining Khaza) for about five minutes. He seemed scared to come inside near Khaza . At this time I walked out to see what the issue is , she just say yeah I'm sorry We can't ....I keep walking out the store. I have never seen anything like this before as many times as I have used PetSmart and Pet Supplies to groom my dog. Pet Supplies happily provided services to my Khaza. The three stars this Petsmart has naturally is accurate. I can't speak for the groomers, but the store itself is relatively clean. Nothing special, but it's not a disaster like other locations I've been to. Everything's well-stocked and organized. Their animals are kept... decently. Nothing abhorrently filthy or anything like that. The bettas, of course, are kept awfully and one of them was even dead (with it's tail fin having completely rotted off). Most of the bettas are sick and/or have fin rot, too. What is it with Petsmart and never keeping their bettas healthy? It's really a shame. read more

So, here it goes... I usually have my two Yorkies groomed by Cecilia for the last four years (phenomenal groomer!), but unfortunately I was unable to get my dogs in with her this month because she was on vacation. No big deal, or so I thought. Instead, I made their appointment with the Krislyn T.. OMG, hear it goes... so I had made both of their appointments for the same time; 8:00 am. When I arrived with both of my doggies, Benji (puppy) was completely stressed out by the car ride to the store, and my older Yorkie; Teddy, who was fine. This wasn't teddy's first rodeo. So when I walk in, I am "greeted" by the girl who I had made Benji's appointment with silence, Krislyn T.. first of off, she didn't say one word to me, so I said cheerfully, trying to start a conversation of some type, "Good morning guys! How are you! Is Cecilia here yet?", not one said a word of greeting. Instead, she went right to the computer and without even rising her gaze up to me started to tell me that Cecilia was out on vacation, and that they had called me the "day before" , to tell me that Teddys groomer was out on vacation and would not be able to groom Teddy... ok, that's fine... I'm thinking ok, how can we fix this, right? Nope, she finally raised her gaze to me and with a "SORRY, There's nothing I can do for you". Instead of "attempting" to see if there is anyway she can get Teddy in sometime soon, she went right to giving me a rude comment on "everyone is completely booked until middle January!" Now had I been talking to my usual groomer Cecilia, she would have happily tried to figure something out for me. I mean, Teddy is a 4 lb yorkie! It probably takes what? 20 minutes to groom him, not even,ha! When I told this to Krislyn T., she sneered and told me, "Well, Cecilia has been grooming for over 20 years and has more experience. I was like, what has that to do with at least TRYING to help me and figure something out. Wow! By the way, Krislyn has to be 23 years old maybe?!? Even so, people in customer service need to be more friendly, and at least make eye contact. As I was leaving, I could hear her say "great! She's gone!" Worst customer service experience I think I've ever had at a pet store today. First, I was back in the fish department and there was literally no one around. So I walked up to the front of the store and there are three or four employees standing around talking with one of another. Literally just sitting on the counter where you check out. I should've known things were going to only go downhill from there. Trying to buy some fish, I've kept fish for 40 some years. The girl tells me my pond is not big enough and will not sell me the $50 worth of fish that I had come to buy. I am almost in disbelief that they would turn away not just the $50 purchase that I'm doing today, but the monthly grooming will now be canceled for my dog. And on top of that, I will definitely be buying all my pet supplies and dog food elsewhere. I tried to reason with the manager before leaving she was one of the employees that had been sitting around, chatting at the front instead of helping customers. Wish I had known that PetSmart had gone to total shit. Definitely will be taking my pet shopping needs elsewhere from now on. read more

Our dog Charlie is extremely anxious and scared of pretty much everything. She was traumatized before we got her and for the first couple of months we had her, she barely wanted to leave the house. Taking her to the groomer is a huge ordeal, at one point it took three different psychiatric medications to get her through the door. We do all grooming at home ourselves except for nail trims, which we need help with because she has black nails and gives us a hard time cutting them ourselves. Annabelle was the first person Charlie let cut her nails and she treated us with such kindness and understanding. We now only ask for Annabelle and bring Charlie in for a nail trim once per month. Today was the first day Charlie got up onto the chair to have her nails cut on her own without peeing/having to be lifted. She is still very nervous, but Annabelle's patience and kindness has made our lives and Charlie's so much easier. We are so grateful for her! read more

Have been taking our golden and mini golden doodle here for grooming. Today the mini had an appointment and I got a call to come get her after 30 minutes because she was too squirmy and they didn't have any experienced groomers available. At 100 bucks a grooming I guess I assumed they were all experienced. So they left her half done. At least we didn't have to pay. Saved 25 bucks and Nicole at Pet Supplies in Purcellville took us in same day without an appointment and saved the day. read more

This review concerns the Grooming Center in Leesburg VA and in particular a great groomer named Shannon. We had been taking out six pound rescue poodle Gabby to Shannon for about 8 years. Gabby was an abused animal with many medical problems including a bad leg but Shannon was very gentle and always took good care of her. Gabby loved Shannon and I think the feeling was mutual. Last year Gabby had blood problems (anemia) and had to undergo a four hour blood transfusion but she pulled though. A month ago the same thing started and the Vet could not find out what was causing her internal bleeding. Considering her age (15) , we did not want to put her though all of that again so she was put to sleep. I took my three dogs recently to get washed/groomed. My chocolate lab came home with a bleeding foot first secondly I had my 2 smaller dogs groomed one came home nice the other was really botched. I could have done this bad by myself it's really uneven and undone no tail trimming it's really bad. Last year I would have said they were good but now my advice is don't try until they get better groomers. read more

I have been taking my dog here for the past, year, at least for grooming. I was trying to find a place that did a great job, but not too pricey. I read reviews and was still a bit nervous about Petsmart because the reviews weren't amazing, but I gave it a shot anyways. I've normally worked with Cecilia, but when I book the appointment, I choose whoever is available. I have chatted with Cecelia when I've come in to check my dog in. She is always very helpful in determining what exactly I am looking for and giving me her personal opinions and experiences. She once spent a good amount of time trying to find his breed to (obviously that changes the cost too). read more

Our little friend Sebastian has been groomed at the PetSmart Salon since he was born. They do a fantastic job! Store staff are very friendly, helpful, and most greet my pet by name. Twice we have purchased dog food from this PetSmart that had massive bug infestations. When we went to return them the manager admitted that one aisle had an issue with bugs. Didn't matter the brand {because I contacted them as well} - just the entire aisle. Refunded our money immediately because they knew it was their fault. Our dog was also refused grooming service, because he was too aggressive and they couldn't get him to calm down. He is an 8 pound peekapoo who isn't aggressive, he just gets scared when he needs to be groomed. On top of all this {and why I continued to go back I'll never know} they sold me three guinea pigs - all were supposed to be girls. There was a boy in the bunch. So we went from three GP's to 10 GP's with zero apology from them. When I suggested they might want to check the genders before selling, the manager told me it was too invasive to check a gender {it's not}. read more

Great Products.. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! A woman named Kayla who is a cashier is so RUDE!!!! Every time my Boyfriend and I come in to shop, she gives us dirty looks and stairs at us. She doesn't greet you or even say "hello", she left my small bag of guinea pig food and a doggie diaper on the conveyer belt and hand scanned it (which took longer) and wouldn't even give me a bag for my items! Please, these didn't even weigh a pound! I paid with my credit card and the receipt printed and she just stood there talking to the other cashier behind her. I waited about 30 seconds before she finally gave me my receipt and she said " HERE YOU GO!!!" and barely leaned over to give it to me. She never once said "Thank you for shopping with us" or "Have a nice night". I spend thousands of dollars here a year feeding my 2 guinea pigs and 1 dog. She is so rude I will never shop here again!!!!!! read more

Excellent store with great customer service. In addition, their adoption center is run by a wonderful rescue agency called Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation. The last time I visited, the floor associate asked me if she could help me find anything. I did need help and she searched several places in the store to help me find what I needed... About 5 minutes later, returning with the item. She noted that it wasn't where it was supposed to be, but didn't give up. That and a previous visit with similar results is why this particular Petsmart gets 4 solid stars. This review is for GROOMING SERVICES ONLY! After spending what feels like wasted trips and money at the Sterling and Chantilly locations, I have finally found the perfect place! I have a 5 month old female Yorkshire terrier, Guiness, with especially wiry hair, which is not the norm. I've picked Guinness up from other locations in the same state I left her in with no sight of even a trim. I needed an appointment at the last minute and Leesburg was happy to help. I was greeted by a very welcoming woman, Cathy. I told her my concerns with Guinness' hair and she quickly gave me options to figure out what would suit Guinness the best. When I returned to pick Guinness up, she looked GREAT!! Where other groomers told me they couldn't cut Guinness because she was still a puppy and behaved like so, Cathy said Guinness did great. I'm truly a believer that dogs feed off the energy from the people around them. So, again, a huge thank you to the Leesburg PetSmart Grooming Staff--especially Cathy (or Kathy)! I don't own a pet of my own and was shopping for someone else, but I was pretty pleased with this place! I was in and out very quickly and the sales associate helped me find exactly what I needed very easily. Price was less than I expected and my friend was pleased! I guess it's not a draw-back if you're used to dirty animals around all the time (i.e. pet owners), but I thought the place had sort of an unpleasant smell. It might have been the fish tanks. Today was our first visit.... Taylor groomed my Pyrenees Malamute mix (134 pounds, most of it fur) and he looks fabulous! Shannon did my 82 pound Great Pyrenees puppy and she is adorable - the purple flower barretts are a lovely touch! They were ready as expected, seemed very happy, and no problems were reported. Great store for getting supplies for your furry friends. Plus, they always have cats there for adoption from Lost Dog & Cat and dog adoptions on the weekends. PetsMart charities continue to find homes for cats and dogs, so I support that effort by shopping here for supplies. Staff is courteous and helpful. PetsMart member card offers discounts on many items everyday. They only reason they don't get five stars: they don't sell high-end human food grade cat food. (I buy that from Wylie Wagg.) read more

Petsmart is having a great fish sale this month. Only problem is you can't find any associates in this store except the cashier. Visited this store twice this week and never anyone to help. Very disappointed. Also, there was a young lady behind the swinging door at the end of the wall of fish tanks. She had eye contact with me on 3 occasions but never once asked if I needed help. I patiently waited and She waited until I started walking the other direction and bolted out of the door. Kathleen cut and groomed my dog last night. She did an amazing job! He looks so cute!!!! Her pawsgress report said he was a sweet boy. She was even able to trim his nails and he often has trouble with people touching his feet. I highly recommend this place. And, ask for Kathleen! read more

If I could give this location 0 stars I would We only go to this PetSmart when we have to, because we dread going there. The store manager, Tanya, is not friendly whatsoever. It's like she failed out of community college and this was the only business that would hire her. I tried to return an item I had bought and she brushed me off in such a rude and condescending way that I swore never to go back to that store. Whatever happened to "lead by example"? HORRIBLE Customer Service. Dropped off my little dog for routine grooming. 30 minutes later I got a call from a woman saying they could not groom her because she wouldn't allow them to brush her! She insisted I take her to the Vet to see what's wrong with her !!!! This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard! Almost every little toy dog getting groomed is nervous and shaking like a leaf at the groomers. This woman just flat out refused us service because she was too impatient to deal with it. I wish I had remembered her name because she doesn't deserve to work there. Based on some of the other reviews, this place should be investigated for animal abuse! read more

Most Unreliable Grooming Salon in America? Quite possibly. I called more than 3-weeks to ago to set up an appointment and my dog still has not received a grooming. Last weekend the salon told me the groomer was out with the flu. Rescheduled for this Saturday at 7:00 am because it was the only time available. I cancelled a previous engagement on Friday night because of the early appt on Saturday. On Friday night at 8:00 the salon called to cancel -- telling me the groomer was out with emergency back-surgery. I'm not heartless, I understand people do get sick, but really no other groomers available to make this right? And cancelling Friday night, assured me there was no other salon to take my pet this weekend. A store manager has not had the decency to call me --same goes for Pet Smart's district manager. I have conservatively spent multiples of thousands of dollars with that company --between vet services, dog food, leashes, collars, etc. and vet services. I'm done and my reccomendation: stay away from Pet Smart's grooming salon in Leesburg -- unless you want to be holding the leash. Unreliable and unprofessional -- for sure. Hello to new grooming service and a new retailer for all my pet supplies. Pet Smart keep treating customers poorly and the company will soon be part of retails dustbin of yesterday. read more

I had a great experience here with my last dog. I have German Shepherds and some groomers are reluctant to groom them. Sterling Petsmart is always overbooked- Leesburg has been able to accommodate us better! Very nice,patient staff. Will bring my puppy here when she gets a bit older. read more

The grooming department has such high turnover that you never see the same person twice. But, until my last attempt to have my GSD groomed, I'd usually had no issues; my dog was always clean and well-groomed after a visit. However, the last appointment was abruptly halted when the rude lady in a cast called me and said I needed to come pick up my dog cause he didn't want to get wet. Um! Well, I really needed his nails trimmed and he had an appt at Banfield the next day for his bi-annual visit so I asked if the vet techs would please just trim his nails for me. When I returned, the vet told me that it was just too much trouble so they didn't trim his nails. But the straw that broke the camel's back was the trainer in the advanced training class - the guy is literally useless. I can do better by watching the Dog Whisperer. In fact, I think that might be what he does and passes himself off as a canine trainer. Needless to say, I have severed all ties with Petsmart in Leesburg (and elsewhere) - find a real vet is my advice. read more

Please do your dog a favor and don't let these people handle your dog. We used this location 3 times. They let you make an appointment. Yet, the dog has to stay in their "care" for about 4 hours. We have less than a 15 lb dog and asked for a regular grooming service without even teeth brushing. What did they do these 4 hours? They kept our dog in a kennel (cage?) for 3 of them!!! When I showed up 3 hours and 15 minutes after we left our dog with them, he was "working" reception area! The grooming lady was literally holding him wet, right after washing him, and checking out other customers. I was the 3rd in line. She was super surprised when I told her that she is holding my wet dog on her lap. She told me that nothing besides washing has been done and offered to trim him including nails "really quick." I refused as I wanted the dog to be properly served. It has been a truly awful experience. She spent another 20 minutes on grooming our dog and that's it. When I returned to pick up our dog, he was the last one left. He had their leash right on his neck, although he was wearing his color and vest too. The lady just handed me the leash. The dog was coughing and I asked what happened but neither the lady nor her 2 coworkers could explain what's going on. I could clearly see their leash was strangling the dog! I had to adjust it myself! The worst part that it has been 3 days since this so called service took place. Our dog who is just over 1 year old still stops now and then as he has trouble breathing!!!!! I will never trust this place again. I wish I didn't leave my dog with them. Who knows what he has been through there! read more

Good store, prices are reasonable, large variety, although they do not carry the dog food my dogs eat. We frequent here often, it's nice to bring the dogs and have them socialize with others. Staff is friendly. Location is good, lots of parking space. read more
