DO NOT BUY A BEARDED DRAGON FROM HERE. I have had many beardies over the years. This was the first time I've ever gotten one from Petsmart (usually A to Z is my go-to) and when we got him him home, he was the most aggressive bearded dragon I've ever seen. I couldn't even put my hand in the cage to feed him without getting bit. Couldn't hold him, and couldn't even get close to his cage without it freaking out. I called the store, and they said they'd exchange him. They did, and now this one is having the same problems. I called once again, and the lady basically told us it's our problem and to sell him on Craigslist. Mass breeding is the issue here, they don't care where these animals come from as long as they get their money. Also, they keep like 15 baby beardies in a 5 gallon tank together. This is abuse. Think twice before you waste your money on poorly taken care of pets. Go to a local pet shop where they actually have the right enclosures, and care about their animals. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. I'm writing specifically about the vet in that pet store called banfield. I took my cat there about 2 years ago because of an ongoing eye problem. I spent over $200 on medication and nothing worked. I was upset because it's not like I could've afforded to go back after spending that much money on medicine. 4 years later the problem still exists but has gotten worse. I went to a different vet and they said he needs surgery. How could they have missed that?! When he explained to to me it seemed so obvious. It seems like so many vets I've been to disregard important information and are not attentive. I've met only a few who really do care about animals! read more

Shopped here on Black Friday, not only were they giving away lots of goodies at the door, but despite how busy they were the entire staff was helpful & calm. Lots of savings & good deals. They opened several hours before petco & had twice as many sales. Very impressed! Will definitely make this place a priority every year! read more

I have brought my dog to this grooming salon for years, but for some reason lately they have really disappointed my husband and I. It started when they "accidentally" cut my dog with the clippers in the stomach and had to take him to Banfield to be glued, but I thought "accidents happen" and my dog does have some anxiety. So, we brought him and our new rescued dog back in on a Saturday. When we walked in they were very busy and one groomer held a beautiful yellow lab up front and the lab appeared to be bleeding around the nose. It looked like they clipped this poor dog too close to the skin, still my husband and I stood and waited because we were early and they were busy. We proceeded to watch one young lady, who I think was either a manager or supervisor talk so terrible to the dog she was grooming (yelling and talking down to it) and then when we went to check in our dogs we told the gal that we gave our rescued dog 10mg of Trazadone, (per our vets instructions) and the same lady who treated the dog she was groomed horrible interrupted and said they can't take our dogs because Trazadone is a sedative. Now, I understand where they are coming from and I probably would have stayed with PetsMart had I not seen and heard what I did. So, I have switched groomers and I'm posting this so that you all know what you could experience if you go there. Perhaps its due to a management change, but I won't go back. We purchased a TopFin 29 gallon tank at pet smart back in February. After spending close to $300 we had a complete set up and couldn't be happier with our gorgeous fish tank! Two weeks ago I noticed something was wrong with the LED lights that are attached to the hood, only 3 lights were working and after looking closer the problem seemed to be that one of the lights has bubbled up short circuiting the rest of the line. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN USING LED LIGHTS!!!! This is clearly a manufactures default. Headed down to my local PETSMART, though TOPFIN is a pet smart brand,they do not sell replacement LED light kits like the one I have, you have to purchase something else entirely at the tune of 65.00+. I'm upset now because I have to replace something I just purchased in February. Something that's is a manufacturers default.When I talked to the manager she seemed concerned at the time then gave me the number to customer support. After calling them being told by both parties that they have never heard of this happening and it's clearly a default NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE!!! I've called, and they have not even begun to review my issue though I was told it was time sensitive and I'd be hearing from them in 3-5 days. Upon calling the manager back she seemed like it wasn't a priority and I would need to continue to wait.It's been over a week since I've first called. My fish have suffered long enough and I'll now take my business elsewhere, but it would have been nice for pet smart/ TopFin to do the right thing. Im not asking for anything unreasonable. I've gone to PETSMART for over 10 years and it saddens me that my loyalty to their company means very little to them. I really can't imagine that allowing me to trade in a faulty product that they allowed me to leave the store with would be an issue for this company. This was deemed "time sensitive" by the corporate hotline because fish require light, yet after a week and still no word it's clear that the health and well being of fish that I purchased from this store aren't a priority. read more

I've been coming to this store for years, the staff is always friendly but over half of the time I have to either wait around for help or go searching around the store to find a staff member. Sometimes there are upwards of 6 - 7 people in line and they only have one register open. Well, after being a loyal customer for 6 years, I'm afraid we'll be looking for another place to take our pets for grooming and food. We spend an average of $250 per month on food and groom for our two dogs and cat. I estimate I have spent somewhere between $15k and $18k in the last 6 years doing business with PetSmart. I called both their corporate headquarters in Phoenix and spoke briefly with one of the store managers today regarding my dissatisfaction in service. I know their having problems with staffing and so it's too bad they simply can't get their act together. Those of you who have dropped off your pets for grooming know how chaotic that experience can be. Setting up appointments from a 3-ring binder is how we use to work 10-15 years ago. I was told they are trying to set up a "new" appointment system that was suppose to be rolled out in January 2015. Well, here it is 4 months later and still no progress. The poor ladies who do the grooming should never have to be the same person who schedules appointments. I feel sorry for the mess they have to deal with...and, by the way, rates for grooming went up a few months ago for weekend appointments and, of course, the customers got no notification of this change. And don't even get me started on the Banfield Pet Clinic experience. NEVER GO HERE! Big mistake on my part for choosing to go here. Mark my words....something has got to change or this store will be closing in Gresham. The customer should always come first!!!! read more

I never had a problem with this petsmart until I got my fish tank. I have been trying to fix my tank water for 3 months and I've listened to everything they have said. I come back every time to test my water and they tell me it's horrible. So I won't be going there anymore for my aquatic animal questions. I have been coming to PetSmart ever since you opened, for grooming and pet supplies. As far as I can remember I have never gone to another grooming salon. Angus is 13 years old and has cancer, so he is getting frail, but still hanging in there. I have always been told he was a very good boy. He is a Scotty and can be stubborn, but I assumed the staff is trained to deal with that. My first mistake was not booking Angus with his regular groomer. I was pressed for time and wanted to get him in ASAP. I was told Angus had a meltdown about the hair dryer and started screaming (not biting). The groomer gave Angus a time out, then tried again, same thing, he started screaming. So this ended his grooming session. This is completely out of character for my dog, as I have never seen him panic over anything in 13 years. I am not saying the incident didn't occur, but I was dumbfounded. So I asked if I could reschedule a grooming session for him, and this time observe him to see why Angus panicked. I was then told Angus was eightysixed, and he could never come back to the grooming salon again. WTF??? After more than a decade as a loyal customer, and only one incident? I have been a loyal customer and a generous tipper (20%) or better. Unbelievable. Poor old Angus. I will tell anyone who will stand still, never ever to patronize your business. This is the day after and I am still shocked. So I guess, "thanks for all the money I spent and don't let the door hit you in the bum on the way out?" read more

So I've taken my dog here for years, it's not like this is a first time experience. Took her in today to get groomed and I always get her the pawdicure plus which includes teeth brushing. I even brought her toothbrush with me so they could use it and not waste another one. I pick her up and after I've left, of course, noticed that the tooth brush was bone dry and her breath was stanky. I call them up to tell them the situation. The lies they tell to cover up what they didn't do...They tried to say they did do it and that it doesn't always make their breath fresh... okay, benefit of the doubt...so explain the toothbrush? Oh it's a new one...so a new one in the same open package I brought it in, bone dry? Yeah, they just lost my business. Why don't people just own up to their mistakes? I get her teeth brushed because 80% of chihuahuas have gingivitis and it's an integral part of maintaining her health, it's not even about the $$. Really disappointed. read more

The groomers cut my dog badly a few days ago. It was over a holiday, so it was a couple of days later when I took him into the attached Banfield vet. The vet bill was covered by the store and my grooming charge refunded at my firm request. The truly upsetting thing was that never, not once, did the manager apologize or take ownership of the error that hurt my dog. All she did was make sure to state at least twice that we can't be totally certain where the wounds came from. Give me a break. My dog is an indoor dog and he was fine when he went in and bleeding when he came out. Enough with the line the lawyers instructed you to use. People are a lot more forgiving when you are willing to just own up and apologize. Bad choice, folks. read more

I had a toy fall apart on me the second time that my dogs played with it. I brought it back and showed on the receipt that I had just bought it last week and it had already fallen apart. The girl referred me to her manager who gave me a hard time about it, but finally said, I will let you return it this time, but we generally don't do this. Then, I had forgotten my card for them to put the refund on, and they said that I could go back, but why would I want to go back again after that? They made me feel crappy as though I was trying to just play the system and have my dogs destroy something and bring it back, but I honestly just thought it was ridiculous that the toy fell apart that fast. My dogs are pretty small and not that ferocious and for a $20 toy, I would expect better quality than that. Also, if they aren't going to accept returns, then don't, but I would rather they didn't act like they were doing me some sort of favor when they should really be apologizing for the low quality item that they sold. read more

If they offered a 0 I would post to that. My complaint is #1 - are you trying to see how filthy you can keep the salon? Every time I take my dog in there is so much hair on the floor every dog coming and going is traipsing through it. Stations that have completed a dog do not sweep up but simply bring out the next dog! Oh, and how about moping and disinfecting th floor. The same mess was on the floor when I picked up my dog as was there when I dropped him off, really? #2 - they review the notes in your dogs file with you and then completely ignore them. Three times now the groomer came in "after" I dropped him off and her excuse was she "never read the notes". I was very specific in what I didn't want done and guess what, that is exactly what they did, three times! I am finished with this groomer. read more
