Yesterday, on 4/30, the groomer Melissa, was arguing with my sister about her poodle. He was fine when she saw him. The grooming manager asked to talk to my sister outside, and I'm assuming this is when Melissa purposely cut him up. Both of his eyes, nose, chest, groin, and left testicle are cut badly. He's just been lying down, refusing to eat or play. We are VERY unhappy with this service and the customer service. We also regret not checking the reviews. amazing groomer First I love my fur baby and want him to get the best. Petsmart at Cedar Hill failed several times to give him the best grooming. After months of him looking "too furry" I decided to go to location on Wheatland in Dallas. WOW! his groomer was Melissa and she did a fabulous job. He was wagging his tail and looked so cute! Definitely Melissa will be his groomer from now on. If you want a groomer that is patient with your fur baby I recommend Melissa at the location on Wheatland rd in Dallas. I had a 10am appointment. It was to be my dogs 1st groom and so I arrived early. Just so we can stand around a little & hopefully she would calm down. Well the person that she was scheduled with was late. They said maybe she would be in around 10:30, maybe. So I left my dog. The young lady took her from me with no problem. I get a call at 11:58 from the person assigned to groom my dog saying she can't do it. She can't get my dog out of the kennel because she keeps trying to bite. There's nothing to be done, I can come get her. I said I'm on my way. My 10lb shorkie was in the back, in a kennel terrified. There was a lot of barking going on & she was in unfamiliar territory with strangers. I had to go to the back & take her out of the kennel. As we walked out from the back the young lady who took her from me said she doesn't know what happened. My dog was ok when I left but again she's not sure what happened. The person who was to groom her asked if I wanted to reschedule & recommended an express groom where you walk in & she's done immediately. That was she doesn't have to go in the kennel. I told her no thanks. My dog was her first appointment. It was at 10 am & we arrived at 9:45. Had she been there on time maybe my dog would not have needed to be placed in a kennel. And I have no idea what time she actually arrived. They told me 10:30 maybe. I didn't get a call until 11:58. So my dog sat in the back for about 2 hours? Of course we won't be back. I'll find a groomer that's professional, timely & knows how to handle 1st timers. The 2 star is because the young lady who took my dog in was pleasant. read more

I have a Goldendoodle and we were out of town and had my friends take him to be groomed. I spoke with someone before they started to let them know specifically the cut that I wanted. They seemed to understand. I specifically said that I wanted his length to be left as long as possible. When he was picked up he looked like a different dog. This is the worst cut he's ever had. It's very unprofessional. I could have done a better job. It will take 6 months for his hair to look somewhat decent again. I'm so upset. read more

PetSmart is the warehouse for everything pets. They have boarding, grooming, vets and much more. The aisles are filled with items for birds, fish, cats, reptiles, dogs, hamsters...I can go on! They really have an extensive inventory. I'd be surprised if you are unable to find what you need. I recently adopted my first dog and decided that PetSmart didn't meet my needs for vet services, grooming or boarding. I'd rather spend my money and support a small business. This has been my decision so far and it has worked out. My dog is developing relationships with the people at the local vet and grooming. What they don't have is variety. That is why I come to PetSmart. Thanks to PetSmart I was able to get my dog tag, his bed matches one of my blankets, a kennel, snacks and more. I didn't have to wait to get his dog tag. It was printed in the store. At the smaller pet store they had a tag selection but it would have to be mailed off. There are some upsides to big stores. Two staff members gave me a lot of information about dogs and helped me select some toys for my toy poodle. They gave me some tips on how to make him feel welcome in his new home. I felt less anxious. I'll return to PetSmart to shop for food, toys etc but not for vet, grooming or boarding. I'll stick to the small guys for that. read more

First of all this location is always booked up. My husband and I relocated to the area 6 months ago and this was the first time we could get an appointment within 2 weeks from scheduling. My husband took off just to make the appointment. When he arrived the manager noticed that our mini Aussie was going to be " a lot of work" she started making excuses as to why our pup couldn't be seen today. Even though the actual groomer in the back said they had time. His shots were up to date and after asking a million questions the groomer started feeling on him. She noticed a small pimple that she mentioned "shouldn't be a problem at all." When the manager heard it she said he needs to get that checked out before we can return. She offered to reschedule him A MONTH out. They have NO regard for your time and the level of cx is piss poor. read more

I am very disappointed. I went to the app to schedule an appointment for my new baby pekapoo that I had adopted 3 days before and the website specifically said that I could not get him groomed without having his rabies vaccination, which I completely understand so I went to Penny paws mobile clinic the day before his grooming appointment and had his vaccination done. I show up at the grooming appt only to be told that he cannot be groomed because there is a 48 hr. waiting period after vaccinations and the person goes on to say that they don't require rabies vaccinations till they are 4 months old, again why doesn't the app/website specifically say this information! Extremely disappointed at this location. Since rescuing my little one I have always trusted PetSmart for our grooming needs. This was Lexi's first time at the Wheatland location and will be our last. The groomer recommended using a blade that would have her hair shorter than we've ever had it. That night I noticed a few little red spots thinking maybe they nicked her a few times. I would highly recommend not coming here for rental vacuums. They don't make their money on the rentals, but the $30 late fee. Granted, I rented it at 4pm, and returned it before 7pmthe next day on their 24 hour plan, but I basically paid $10 an hour for every hour above that. This Petsmart is a small one. The people seem nice, but it seems not highly stocked. My biggest annoyance is that they have this alarm going off all the time, a high piercing squeal at random intervals. When I talked to the cashier about it, with all I can describe as one of the laziest managers I've ever seen, she let me know that it goes off all the time and she doesn't even hear it anymore. GROOMING REVIEW. First let me review about my first experience last year from September 2013, the price was about 70 dollars on my toy poodle, KC. I made an appt to go in at 9:30. When I walked in, the woman I spoke to wasn't very friendly, she had this aggression in her tone. I failed in maintaining my toy poodle, so she was matted heavily on her back. The woman told me they had to shave her, which was okay. I stayed in the store for a while to catch a glimpse of KC, then the woman came out and told me I needed for her to use a special shampoo because they found ONE flea on KC. That shampoo wash cost an added 11-15 dollars! I should have said no, but I did. Anyways, I got a call back almost 6 hours later saying she was done. I went to pick her up and paid. Then when I got home, KC had a huge razor burn on her side!! She kept scratching so I had to put some anti-itch cream on her. So TODAY I wanted to give them another try. I called at 10am and a girl picked up and mumbled some words, I asked if this was the grooming department ( I had pressed 2 for grooming but I wanted to give her another chance to make a better impression but she failed again). After she replied, I asked her if they had any openings today or tomorrow, then she told me HOLD. So then I hung up. That was a strike 2 for me. No thanks. I went to Petropolitan. if it were possible to give zero stars, i would. i have tried to step into that store and had the stench of the feeder crickets drive me right back out. they post suggested (and wrong) feeder combos for reptiles, but they don't actually sell any of the feeders that they're suggesting. the employees are lazy and sullen. the fronts of the aquariums are filthy. you can ring a bell for help, but don't expect any. i've asked for a mgr twice to complain about the feeder situation; both times i was told there wasn't one available. i told the cashier how unhappy i was today, and she mumbled, "well, have a nice day." what a dumb cow! i call this place petstupid for a reason. read more

Stay away from the groomers!!! I took my 4 month old yorkie for his first hair cut and i didn't recognize him when I picked him up!!! I paid for the puppy trim package and they skinned my poor puppy. It was soo close to his skin it looked painful. He was so traumatized when he left and he looks like a hairless cat. They acted like they never gave a puppy a hair cut and they all looked guilty when I walked in. I paid $68 for them to skin my Beautiful haired Yorkie puppy, when I could have done the same thing at home myself. Never again, beware!! There is a cashier there named Eva. She is fantastic. She greets everyone so warmly and makes a big fuss over all the pets. She tells you about all the specials as you walk in. I find myself going there just to see her. Eva is what old-fashioned customer service should be. The other day I was in line for Eva and another checker came up. I told her I would wait for Eva. I have been taking my dog here for 3 years and was just giving the horrible customer service the benefit of the doubt because dog grooming seems very stressful. However - after today's visit, I will never return. The same female employee who has been disrespectful, rude, borderline cruel to me in the past went above and beyond today to enforce "a rule" that I was never informed of before, nor can I find on their website anywhere - in an attempt to refuse grooming service to my dog. She very clearly has something against me and/or my 10 lb yorkie-poo - even though no one has ever reported to me that there have ever been any problems with her behavior while she's there. The store manager stepped in and said they could groom her today . . . but then an hour later I get a call that they can not continue working on my dog because she is "too stressed" and I need to come pick her up. I went in to take my dog Leo into get him cleaned up. One of the first times I've actually taken my dog into a groomers to get him fresh and happy. Anyways.... I dropped him off at 1:30pm and paid for a package that included shampoo and perfume , nail trim, ear cleaning, anal gland cleaning, and a haircut. They didn't call me not once to let me know how everything was going, I called at 5:30pm to check up, they said it would be another 45 Mins. I was really happy that my boy was going to be clean and smelling good. Anyways... they still didn't call me after the 45 min, so i decided to head up there at 6:30pm. When I arrived, i could already feel something was wrong. They told me they couldn't trim my dogs nails. I was so frustrated on the fact that i paid for a package that included dog nail trimming that i didn't notice they didn't put perfume on him. Anyways, I talked to the manager to see what he could do. Me and him spoke directly to the person who cut my dogs nails, that person then decided to lie to the manager in front of my face saying that i paid for a different package and different breed, so either way it didn't matter wether or not he did his nails, which was BullSheit, because originally at the beginning when i took leo in, they tried to up-charge me 68 for the package, i told them i wasn't going to pay 68 and they said could you do 52, i said, that's fine. i paid the 52 knowingly i paid for the package i originally wanted. ANYWAYS.... I told them straight up that i paid for the same package but different breed. Which I did. So long story short, They made me feel comfortable from the start, then, decided to change the package during the process because they AINT doing what i wanted them to do for 52 dollars originally. The manager basically had the mentality, "EMPLOYEE OVER CUSTOMER." I said i understand the situation, just left because he told me to come in the next morning to talk to another manager?. COMPLETELY BS experience. Also, There are a handful of GHETTO groomers there who don't give a rats ass about dogs. They also nicked my dogs in several places, in which they didn't have the common courtesy to tell me. You're better off at a local place, where they actually care, instead of a chain store that just hires whoever.. It took them 5 hours to give him a hair cut and take him a bath. Good staffing so far. People have to understand this location has a bunch of rude customers, I've witnessed it on the 3 times I've shopped here, staff really tries their best to keep their customers satisfied, me and my wife just now started shopping here a couple weeks ago for all our pet needs (we have dogs, cats, fishes, and a ferret!) we've have always found what we need since the first time we shopped here. My last visit was this morning, October 25, guy at the fishes, (UPDATED: His name is George) can't remember his name but he was extremely helpful went out of his way to help us with dog food although it wasn't in his working area and took great care of us, very friendly, great customer service, and would like for him to help us all the time if it was possible. Overall always have a good shopping experience and would recommend this place to all my friends! Just got to remember their staff are people just like us and can only take so much, thank you PetSmart for making my shopping experience a good one so far. read more
