Update to review: I have emailed the owner over 3 times and she has not responded. They clearly don't really care about anyone's experience. Never go to this location. My dog was injured at this location and I was never notified. I picked her up and she had a huge hole on her side that was infected. The front desk said she was bit and manager said it was due to play. I brought her to the vet and it was infected and needed stitches but due to Camp Bow Wow (manager Lisa) failing to provide proper care, it was too late. The vet said either a dog dug it's nail in it or more likely was stabbed by a fence not properly secured. Camp Bow Wow failed to provide medical attention to my dog. The manager is extremely rude and gaslights. On the phone she told me she'd pay for my medical expense and review video with me when I went on site. When I went on-site, she said the opposite and acted like I was lying. She changed the story to there is now no footage when she told me she investigated it and part of the process is having footage. She even tried to blame the new front desk girl for her lack of providing proper training. All around terrible experience. I asked her for the owners contact information and she refused to give it to me and she said it's up to the owner to contact me. Lisa is terrible and so is this location. I feel bad for the employees and worry about all pets safety here. read more

Dropped my fur baby off for day camp due to AC issues at home, so picked my dog up after work and was charged for daycare so the next day I took my fur baby back a second day and prepared to pay and was told that my card on file was charged the day before now I am a bit puzzled about it because I was also charged when I picked my dog up as well so now two charges in one day so now I'm thinking if I would've not taken my dog back the next day I would've never been told that my card had been charged BEFORE PICKING MY DOG UP and I never received a email receipt but when I go in to PICK IP MY DOG and pay I would receive a email receipt so why can't it show in the system that I had already paid before picking my baby up and why did I not get a phone call asking to charge my card ahead of time. I do not know which card she used and then to find out that they charge my card for another dog so why wasn't that told to me I feel you all need to be on one accord and stop charging a person card before picking up their fur baby. Sad to say but this place of business has been going down hill for a while only thing that had kept me coming back is the groomer MELANY she is awesome and I will miss her dearly. She will be hard to be replaced by another groomer. I received very poor service from this company. They cut my dogs coat without my permission. Before we took our pet to them our pup had a great coat. I asked them to bath and cut the fanny. They did not cut the hair from her fanny at all but took the time to mess up our pups coat. I do not recommend this company. When I took my dog back up there they denied any wrongdoing rather than taking responsibility for their mistake. It takes so long to get your dogs coat together and they messed up almost a year of work. Her coat was beautiful now it is uneven shaggy looking. I love, love, love this place. We have 3 Miniature Schnauzers and we have been bringing them to Camp Bow Wow Cedar Hill for many, many years. All of the staff members are fantastic! They are friendly, professional, and most of all I can tell that they truly love their job and they show it with the excellent care of our fur babies! From the staff leads (Trisha), to the manager (Lisa), and the owner (Stacey), you can tell that they always put my pets' needs first and I know that they do the same thing with all of the other fur babies as well. I want to mention the groomers too. Our fur babies have been groomed at this Camp for as long as we've been using them for boarding, etc. Melany and Mercedes are fabulous! Our Boys always look great! Now, I would like to say a little bit more about Lisa, the manager. Lisa ALWAYS goes above and beyond to make sure my Boys are fed properly, that their medications are administered correctly, and she always contacts me if there are ever any issues or questions about anything. Also, she makes sure my invoices are correct in that the charges posted are exactly what they should be. So in closing (I know this has been a long review but definitely warranted), I just want to say that I would recommend Camp Bow Wow Cedar Hill to anyone that wants and expects exceptional care for their fur babies!! read more

Editing review: my dog has gotten worse, dealing with cost and emotional drain of a sick pet is a 1 star offense. Thanks for the stress and additional cost of the vet visit and the BS Promo 'free night' avoid this place!!!! One of our two dogs picked up kennel cough from a two night stay despite having been vaccinated ($75 vet visit). Also the 'first night free' promotion is a joke; if you're not having them do the 'interview' the same day as the first night stay then you can't take advantage of the promotion. I want to say that Camp Bow Wow in Duncanville is a great place to bring your fur baby. I had a family emergency and needed some help with getting my dog his shots. The young named Chasity went above and beyond in assisting me with my problem. She didn't have to but I am glad that she did it made my day much brighter after the bad news that I received earlier that day. Overall, they worked with me last minute to get Fozzie a spot to stay overnight last minute and everyone was pleasant. But, that doesn't do much to help with the aftermath of staying here. My dog has always been in good health and never had any sort of major medical issues, he's about 2 years old. He also rarely leaves my house or is in the company of other dogs. Less than a week after picking him up from his stay with Camp Bow WOW, we were at the vet because he had a horrible honking cough that he couldn't suppress. Doctor diagnosed kennel cough and said it was likely from being in close contact with other dogs at this location. Today we are back at the vet with a sudden ringworm infection which he is likely attributing to the same close contact with other dogs at this location. My dog is a house dog and rarely leaves my home. This was his first time being boarded with a ton of other dogs and the added up vet bills and his poor health does not add up to an overall good experience. Also, The outdoor space for small pets looks kinda dingy. read more

I took my two dogs for the trial day care experience prior to us boarding them for couple of days in the near future. At first I was hesitant since both of my dogs has not been around too many other dogs. I'm glad to know that they did good and seems to enjoyed the time there. The staff is great. Owner personally explained everything and assure us our dogs will be in great care and they were. You get to watch your dogs interact with other dogs via internet which is a plus. The only reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is price. I think it's a bit pricey but over all great place to bring your dog. read more

Let me just share with you how hesitant I was about hiring an "outsider" to watch over my fur babies. My dogs are crazy important to me. My husband contacted Camp Bow Wow he was happy to learn that they also have pet sitting in your home as well. Our sitter came to our home to meet us and the dogs, and my boy Buddy Dog RE-he-he ally liked E.T. (our care giver) and Holly Dog, also known as "The Weird One" liked her too. We visited for quite awhile, and Holly became comfortable enough with her to stop giving her the stink eye, and even went outside after a short time instead of her usually barking and "threatening stance" (I mean you all know that Yorkie mixes are 100% terrifying. Right?) she was relaxed, and Buddy was excited cuz he fancies himself as the ladies man of pound puppy terriers, and he LIKED. HER. A. LOT. So anyway we are happy that we went with their home sitting service, and our sitter did a great job, she texted us every visit, and sent us pictures, which really put my mind at ease. If you are like me, you can tell just by looking at your pet, and know their emotional state. Buddy and Holly always looked fine...except they MISSED ME AS MUCH AS I MISSED THEM LOL. We appreciate the friendly staff and having an exhausted dog! We used to take him to another place, but I think they kept him crated much of the day because he's so high energy (especially when he was younger). The staff at camp bow wow doesn't seem to be afraid of an active puppy. They are always friendly and try hard to pair our rambunctious pup with another high energy dog to assure that everyone goes home exhausted. Our pup gets excited when he gets in the car because it's pretty likely that he's headed to camp. Camp bow wow is awesome! I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because I wish there were more promos for existing customers and it was a little cheaper. I was surprised to learn that the camp bow wows north of this one are a bit more affordable especially if you have a regular camper. read more

Don't bring your dogs here if you want them to be taken care of. My dogs stayed two nights and one of them didn't eat and they did nothing about it. They told us that if they had stayed another night they would have added broth or something to try to help her eat. IT IS NOT OKAY TO LET MY DOG STARVE UNTIL DAY 3!!! They lied to us and told us that our dogs were eating great. After talking to them about this issue, the owner argued with us and tried to pass the blame off on us for her not listening and writing down when both my husband and I told her that adding broth will help her to eat. My dog got very sick from her stay at this Duncanville location. The owner requested permission to speak with my veterinarian after I complained regarding my dog which I did allow them to do. They never took the responsibility for the kennel cough my dog got from this location. Not even an apology never took responsibility. I LOVE Camp Bow Wow in Duncanville!! The owner and the staff take care of my fur kids as if they were their own. I don't have human kids, so my fur-babies are my "kids". I was having a problem with my one-year old lab mix and my one-year old chi-weenie getting into trouble and just generally having too much energy. You would think that with a one-acre back yard, they would wear themselves out, but they just don't. When they come back from a day at camp, they have about 20 minutes of play time together and then they crash. I mean, OUT like a light!! And they don't wake up until the next morning. The effect lasts a couple of days!! Burning off energy at camp COMPLETELY changed my dogs! They are now lovable and active at home, but no longer destructive and hyperactive!! That was the short version: If you want "the REST of the story, read on: I was so nervous about taking my dogs ANYWHERE. I had used their home-sitting service before, but I was having SERIOUS problems with my dogs tearing up my house and yard. They just weren't getting enough exercise, and my hours at work were too long to walk them. Plus, they have a one-acre back yard, so you'd think that would be enough exercise, right?! I visited and took a short tour of the camp without my dogs,and found out they offer a free trial day. They also offer doggie-cams, which increased my comfort level. So, with more nervousness than I could have believed, I arranged to take my dogs in at 7;30am for their evaluation. That involved having them meet another dog of each sex, and because it went well, they got a very closely supervised time with the group of dogs they camped with. When the staff told me that went well, I went to work. The staff "sorts" the dogs by size, which also increased my comfort level.. My high-energy lab mix is normally one of the smallest dogs in the Big Dog camping area. My chi-weenie is in the Little Dog area, but likes to play with the couple of older, not-very-active bigger dogs who stay with the little guys. I was glued to the webcam that first half-day. The cams show the interior and the exterior locations. I had so much fun watching my "kids" play with everyone, and I could also watch how the staff interacted with the dogs. By lunch time, I was comfortable enough to stop watching and get some work done! The dogs came home, and like they do every camp day, had a short burst of play and then it was "lights out, leave us alone!!" I love it! They normally go on Tues and Thurs, but if I have the money, I take them Mon-Wed-Fri. I use a special leash to take them to camp, and each morning as I leave for work they both run up to the leash hook and get SUPER excited when I get the leash off the hook. It is clear they KNOW they are going to camp, and equally clear they LOVE it! In fact, one of the few times my lab-mix will obey is when I'm putting his leash on to go to camp!! LOL! They love it so much that now when I go out of town, I just leave them at camp. No more home-sitters for me; that's how much I trust this Camp Bow Wow!! I would like to address a couple of issues mentioned by other reviewers: 1) There IS an outdoor area to go potty. Some dogs do not take advantage of that area and "go" indoors. The staff ALWAYS immediately clean up after the offender, and they also wash the entire floor at lunch when the dogs are in their cabins. The cleanliness of this place ASTOUNDS me! It's cleaner than my own house!! 2) People mention how important it is that their fur-kids are well cared for, and they worry about their safety, and in the same breath they talk about day-care being "a little pricey". Seriously? It costs a little to get safety and security!! They have at least one staff member in each dog area at all times (I've seen as many as 3, there may be 4 on busy days). Most times, there is also a staff member at the front desk to take care of human clients. They keep the place scrupulously clean. The dogs come back safe, sound, happy, and tired. They offer discounts for multiple dogs multiple visits, and if you pre-pay monthly with a year's commitment. I do not think their prices are out of line with the service they provide. I will also admit that I can't afford to send my dogs there every day, but the money I spend on day-care is EASILY the best value of any spending I do during the month. I hope this helps anyone who might be nervous about taking their "baby" to daycare. If you use Camp Bow Wow SW Dallas (in Duncanville), your dogs won't be the only Happy Campers!! read more

I took my puppies there for a trail day of camp. I enjoyed being able to watch my pups on my phone, and when I picked them up at the end of the day, their tails we're wagging. My one issue is the fact that there is no outdoor area for them to potty. The dogs at Camp Bow Wow potty inside on the concrete. Since taking my pups to camp, they've digressed with their potty training and think it is okay to eliminate inside instead of in the yard. read more

I recently used their home visit pet sitting services and was very pleased with their conscientious attention to our dogs. Not only did they feed and walk our dogs but also went above and beyond by (without being asked) watering the plants around our pool. When one of my dogs pulled a bottle of vitamins off of a counter and chewed it open, we were contacted immediately upon discovery. They recommended a course of action to which we agreed and took our offending pup on a Sunday to an area emergency hospital after contacting a pet poison control agency. This proactive and empathetic treatment gave us great comfort while we were traveling out of state. Ultimately it was determined that given his size, he did not consume enough to warrant hospitalization but merely monitoring, which they did until our return home. I highly recommend Stacey and her folks as they are true pet lovers and caring providers. read more

My dog Felix LOVES this place! He is a shy German Shepherd but the staff is so kind and gentle with him that Felix feels like this is his second home. He is always excited to go play at Camp Bow Wow for the day or for boarding. He has so much fun playing with the other dogs. In fact, if I don't take him at least once a week he gives me that German Shepherd piercing stare, looks at the door, and demands to go. We've also had the home sitters come to our house to watch our older dog and our cat and they have done a great job! Plus, since the person who did the home care was one of Felix's favorite staff from day camp he welcomed him in the house. We've had nothing but positive experiences with Camp Bow Wow. Camp Bow Wow has been a life saver for me. I am older and have a young VERY frisky lab. He goes regularly for exercise and just hanging out with other dogs his size. You can follow the action on the Internet via web cam, but after the first few times I check only occasionally now. When I do check in what I see is a group of dogs playing and following one of the ever present employees around. The employees are knowledgeable, very personable, helpful, and seem to love seeing my Bailey boy when he arrives. He goes nuts he is so happy to be there. I also boarded one weekend. The web cam is not available on weekends, but I knew he was in responsible hands. I give them 5 stars and Bailey gives them 5 hearty woofs. read more

I love everything about Camp Bow Wow SW Dallas. The Camp Counselors are amazing. When I dropped off Titan (80 pound Golden Retriever) last week for a camp day, he was so afraid that he was shaking uncontrollably. The groomer and one of the counselors took the time to love on him and get him calmed down and comfortable before I left.They provide such a great service with such compassion and love for each individual "client." This kind of loving care has been my experience with three other dogs in my care over the years. Good job! read more

Update: Management will try to use every trick in the book to avoid responsibility. It's quite simple, I paid them to watch my dog and they didn't watch close enough to see that my dog was injured. Then they try to changed the story. When I picked up my puppy, I was informed that the facility's foster dog and my puppy were playing rough. During this play my puppy bit the foster dog's ear. Nothing serious just two dogs playing rough. Now this has become an altercation instead of rough play. Finally, they try to downplay my puppy's injuries saying that they are scratches. There is a bite wound on my puppy's neck that required veterinary treatment. I have the vet bill along with photographs to prove it. Dogs will be dogs and things will happen, but I expect the facility that I am paying to watch my dog, to notice when he is injured and inform me of the situation.
