I normally do not post bad reviews but I feel this one is warranted. We had a grooming appointment scheduled for 3 weeks at Petsmart getting ready for vacation. When we dropped our dog off for her early morning scheduled time, Petsmart called within 30 minutes later and said our dog was "too stressed out to be groomed." After picking her up and going back home, we were angry because this is the 2nd time this has happened to us with this particular Petsmart location. I looked online and saw availability at Petco same day and scheduled a time. They called us immediately and told us we could bring her in earlier if possible. We made the 30 minute drive to Petco and they took care of her. Other than not being a fan of the dryer, they said she was absolutely fine. She was in and out in about an hour for bath, brush, and nail trim. We looked thru the window in the grooming area a couple of times to check on her and she was fine. We shopped in the store while we waited. Fortunately we have a new grooming place and Petco has a new customer. Unfortunately Petsmart has someone who has no patience to do her job. I feel like they overbooked and didn't want to deal with her even though we had the appointment for several weeks. All it took was someone kind to talk to her and pet her for a minute and she was good to go. We have been back to Petco for another grooming session since that time and still had a great experience. You can bet I will be relaying this story to PetSmart Corporate office as well. Do not go to the Crystal City location for grooming! read more

they're a good place but their employee sold us a fish that ate our shrimp and then died cause it ate our shrimp after clarifying that they would be safe to put in a tank together. IN FACT, she suggested the BLACK MOLLYS. and it killed our shrimp. DONT DO THE BLACK MOLLYS GUYS. read more

Friendly faces, knowledgeable employees, and they allow dogs inside, what better things can you find in a well run business.. I have always been a fan of PetSmart, and this location is no different. The store is conveniently located along the main road, and without being a full sized store they still have quite a large inventory to choose from. weather you are buying something for your K-9 friend or in my case, accessories for the fish tank. everything is extremely well marked and easy to find. I had a few questions, and after locating an employee without any problems, my questions and concerns were answered fast and professionally. I was pointed to the items I was in need of, I got a comparison based on their personal use, and was offered several items with varying price tags to choose from. When it came time for checking out, I had to wait no time at all for an employee, and the sale went as nicely as the rest of the visit. It never really amazes me how simple things like good customer service, a clean business, can balance out a visit so nicely, and leaving you feeling quite satisfied and wanting to return for future pet item needs.. I haven't used their pet services, but have heard nothing but nice things about their grooming, and doctors, and know people that take their own pets there regularly, this alone is warrant enough for me to keep returning to this store... read more

My husband and I went to petsmart to get our Dogs nails done. I usually go earlier in the day but my dog was having issues getting in and out of the truck so I wait for my husband to get home for him to help her so she doesn't injure herself. We showed up approximately 4:50pm. The time of the door says that the grooming closes at 6:00 but online it says 5:30. Needless to say we had plenty of time before they lose. We walk in greeted with friendly staff as usual. Seen that the lights were off in the grooming area and so my husband went to see if they could still do her nails since there was still a lady in there. We were told sorry that she had already clocked out and wasn't going to do them. My husband had pointed out that the time said that they should be still open to only be told that that time was for the pick ups for the animals in back. (Total Lie) It was not professional to close before time on door for no reason. I mean why have hours posted if they don't mean anything. read more

okay so normally I just let stuff run off my back..but when something is sooooo obvious and people still dont recognize it gets to me. I took my puppy to Petsmart here in Festus and I told them what I wanted done and told them about her birth defect ( her hind legs are bowed and her feet turned in(this causes her to slide easier and not stand straight)). I show back up several hours later and she does not have her hair cut. The proceed to tell me that because of her defect that their policy prohibits them from cutting her hair because she would need support for her hind section that they do not provide..hmm didnt I tell them about this when I brought her in? Them they said because they had to have the manager come in and hold her up while they combed her I got charged an extra handling fee..that gracie tried to bite them..gracie is a year old..she loves everyone and would never try and bite anyone..they also told me she had fleas and they had to give her a flea bath..She is on Frontline Plus and has been for most of her life..come on people..of course all these charges were adding up and they still didnt do what I initially came in for..They just lost my business..this is not the only time I have encountered employees there that were uninformed or just didnt know anything..this was just the straw that broke the camels back..Im done. read more
