We were on the search for a pet and PetSmart has lots of options. We mostly focused our time…read morelooking at all of the many types of fish. I love the little info cards next to each fish...it tells you how many gallons you need in a tank for a specific fish, if they are friendly, if they glow, what level of pet are they (beginner, intermediate, expert). They have lots of tank and food supplies as well so we'll definitely be back when we're ready to make that purchase. An associate also came over to see if we needed any help so I appreciated that.

We got to adopt our beautiful kitten, now named Zuko. Thankfully in great care…read more As for our experience with adoption it was horrible. I understand living and working far away from the store you'd want to call in to ensure adoption hours and stores hours will be open when you arrive, which I did. I should've written down names for all of this, but when I called to check I was given the information that after 5pm would be adoption hours and someone would be able to assist us. Once we arrive we were notified that there was not enough staff to assist us on adoption, is this really a thing? Though there was not enough staff to assist us with adoption. The same staff didn't even allow us time to ask questions in a proper manner and gave us an attitude. How I sense this is because when I asked questions it was quick and simple, "yes" "mhm" "yeah" "you can come back tomorrow" and etc.... As an adopter, it worries me that if staff is treating their customers like this when it's "low of staff" how do they treat their animals. Not to mention, when assisting us they left and went to assist another customer who they knew or even a former employee.. In excitement we didn't think nothing of it, but that long wait of them assisting customers could've been the same amount of time of them letting us know that we wouldn't be able to see the kitten we wanted to adopt. All they literally did for us was informing us on coming back tomorrow and filling out the paperwork.. Yet for the other customers they were gladly happy to assist they took their sweet time. As for the next day, it went smoothly with one of the guys there who's worked for 11 years. Though he didn't know much about the kitten itself he knew a lot of the adoption process.

On 2/15, we went on our first vacation in 10yrs. We had trusted HA and chose to board our dog,…read moreJasper, there. On 2/20, roughly 50 dogs of various sizes, ages, and breeds were let out together before bed. Reputable facilities separate dogs at least by size for what should be obvious reasons. We were assured that bigs and smalls were separated, important to us bc Jasper had never been around small dogs, except at size separated dog parks, where he rushed the fence toward the smalls - despite what the owners say, they were aware of this. On 2/20, Jasper was showing signs of distress. His distress signals were ignored and he allegedly lashed out at a 10lb, 16y/o dog(why was a tiny senior out with 49 other dogs?). There were only 2 employees monitoring, 1 in training. idk what happened to Jasper at this time. It took 45 minutes for the injured dog to get to the ER vet (AERC). He did not survive. I am so sorry for their loss. This is a horrific tragedy, which could have been avoided had the facility acted properly. My heart is broken for them. HA said they were going to review the footage they had. HA had also told us that we needed to contact AERC. Multiple AERC staff told us the same thing: This is not Jasper's fault. This happened due to the negligence of HA. They also told me that HA had approved treatment and accepted responsibility for all financials. The staff who took the dog to AERC were evasive when AERC asked what happened. I was never contacted by any eyewitness about this - after trying to get the story from the owners, I turned to social media, and only yesterday felt I finally had a semi-complete picture. The extensive footage claim is a lie. Whatever happened, happened in a blind spot. We had a friend pick up Jasper ASAP, concerned for his safety. I had emailed HA with this info, and also that I would not be paying, given the situation. Jasper was given to our friend, but they didn't ask her name, let alone check ID. They said it was fine for her to go without paying. The owners have since threatened to file a claim for this, saying that my dog was safe and well-cared for during his stay, which I dispute. The friend who picked him up said that Jasper was timid, shaky, exhausted, and had a subconjunctival hemorrhage in his L eye. W/o of signs of infection, this generally occurs because of trauma. I'll never know what happened. As of this writing, his eye is still healing. The owners claim that we didn't tell them about Jasper and needing separation with small dogs, that we refused to pay the hospital bill - all lies. Anita told me explicitly that HA policy was to separate by size, and she told AERC the same thing. But I have found that it's common for the owners to allow undertrained staff to monitor packs of 50-60 dogs. You can see it on the stream. On 2/21, I took several screenshots of a small dog out in the yard with several large dogs. No staff. This dog wasn't the first to die while under their care. This is the SECOND time something like this has happened (this was confirmed by public safety officer). I have submitted a report to several agencies and animal welfare orgs. I believe that HA endangers dogs and staff through patterns of negligence, bullying, and lack of training. I have been in communication with DVMs and other animal professionals about this situation. When Anita responds to this with more lies, I'd like you to know I have receipts. Jasper is a dopey, loving, playful, athletic hound. I have never seen him display an ounce of aggression - I have two children under 5. I am an experienced dog owner. I have never seen him act out because I have never put him in a position where his distress became overwhelming. HA doesn't train staff, nor do they take accountability when they make mistakes. This isn't the first dog to die in their care, but I think it should be the last. I also wanted to shout out HA employee Katie E. Thank you for posting that review publicly, online, and in writing. I let Anita know how helpful it was in establishing a pattern of negligence and lying at HA.

By Wednesday he was collapsing on his walks and on Thursday (three days after his only shot) his back legs were paralyzed and he never walked again. Of course I called them immediately and after explaining this to the vet I was told: "you can go somewhere else." She never asked me to come in and have him looked at. She just kept saying "we have had no problems with it, we have had no problems with it and we have been using it for eight months." I understand that but she should have told us the possible side effects, all drugs have side effects and she told us none of them. She is the Dr. and we trusted her. There was no sympathy or concern on her part whatsoever. After getting nowhere with her I hung up and began researching it. My dog should never have been gotten it in the first place. Had she done some tests she would have realized this. We were never told of the possible horrific side effects that could occur. Because of this deliberate omission I feel that our choice of whether to give him the shot or not was taken away from us. I then called the clinic again and while waiting on hold for the doctor I was speaking with the receptionist. While waiting, I was again told: "you can go somewhere else." I was so upset and flabbergasted that I had now heard this twice from the clinic that I could no longer speak. A woman did call me back and left a voice mail and basically was just stating the same rhetoric "we had never had any problems with this." Again, no concern. I was not asking for them to admit it was their fault, I know drugs can have adverse effects, I was however seeking guidance and what to do going forward. I know that all drugs have side effects and that not all patients respond the same way but we were never told of any side effects and when it did happen all I was told over and over again was "we have had no problem with it, we have had no problem with it." Also, TWICE I was told "you can go somewhere else." How could they not offer to help and ask me to bring him in again. I was completely lost at this time and I was asking for help only to be told to go somewhere else. I did ask them that in the future if anyone asks if any of the their patients have had a bad reaction to Liberla if they would be told "yes" and they said they would. So to future customers, if they try and say that no patient of theirs has ever had a bad reaction to Liberla, do not believe this. 0 stars and there is absolutely no way I could ever recommend this clinic to anyone after my experience and what it did to my dog Astro. This happened in the spring and I am still grieving and at a loss at how my dog and I were treated. I have since adopted another dog and of course we are using another clinic. The same clinic that tried, after all that happened, to help Astro, and when we realized he was suffering the one that helped us make the devastating division to put our beloved Asto to sleep so his suffering could end.
