We were on the search for a pet and PetSmart has lots of options. We mostly focused our time looking at all of the many types of fish. I love the little info cards next to each fish...it tells you how many gallons you need in a tank for a specific fish, if they are friendly, if they glow, what level of pet are they (beginner, intermediate, expert). They have lots of tank and food supplies as well so we'll definitely be back when we're ready to make that purchase. We got to adopt our beautiful kitten, now named Zuko. Thankfully in great care. As for our experience with adoption it was horrible. I understand living and working far away from the store you'd want to call in to ensure adoption hours and stores hours will be open when you arrive, which I did. I should've written down names for all of this, but when I called to check I was given the information that after 5pm would be adoption hours and someone would be able to assist us. Once we arrive we were notified that there was not enough staff to assist us on adoption, is this really a thing? Though there was not enough staff to assist us with adoption. The same staff didn't even allow us time to ask questions in a proper manner and gave us an attitude. How I sense this is because when I asked questions it was quick and simple, "yes" "mhm" "yeah" "you can come back tomorrow" and etc.... As an adopter, it worries me that if staff is treating their customers like this when it's "low of staff" how do they treat their animals. Not to mention, when assisting us they left and went to assist another customer who they knew or even a former employee.. In excitement we didn't think nothing of it, but that long wait of them assisting customers could've been the same amount of time of them letting us know that we wouldn't be able to see the kitten we wanted to adopt. All they literally did for us was informing us on coming back tomorrow and filling out the paperwork.. Yet for the other customers they were gladly happy to assist they took their sweet time. As for the next day, it went smoothly with one of the guys there who's worked for 11 years. Though he didn't know much about the kitten itself he knew a lot of the adoption process. read more

I am taking the time out to review about the pet training at the Woodbury location. We have been training our dogs here for the past couple of months and it seemed to be fine up until we raised questions about the service we were receiving. A few of our dogs were training under Sam B. To be honest in review, she doesn't always have the best recollection in what she states, which caused us as customers, to question and re-evaluate the quality of training we were receiving for our dogs. Dog training costs time and money. It is good and recommended to always be professional and respectful at all times when or if customers should raise any questions or concerns about the service they are receiving. This did not happen for us, unfortunately. As a dog parent, we desire to be a part of our fur kids' training success. We cannot recommend training under Sam B but can say that since training at PetSmart, you do get what you pay for. If you want a more collaborative and focused training for the success of your pups, there are other organizations I would recommend to seek out. read more

So I've been going to this Woodbury Petsmart for 10 years. I figure we do 4 grooming there a year, which is 40 times that he's been groomed. I've had two bad visits in 40 years and now they have have flagged me as a bad customer and no longer will able take him for grooming. This is unbelievable. I've never dealt with a company like this before so unprofessional 95% of my rooming's were fine 5%. We're bad and this is how they treat a long paying customer. be aware that Woodbury Petsmart isn't what they say they are the groomers they have now are totally inexperienced and have no clue what they're doing..!! read more

Very difficult to work with and not very accommodating. I've been to several petsmart locations and this is the worst.

I come here regularly because it is one of the only stores with the prescription food my cat needs. today around 1 I came in, and the food I get was out of stock. I went to the banfield counter to ask if 1) they knew if they had any in the back and 2) if I was able to substitute it with another brand and was met with the worst customer service in the world from the two ladies running the desk. I get it might not "be your job" to help me (yeah.. that's what they said to me) but you shouldn't audibly laugh at me in front of customers and coworkers as I walk away just because you are having a bad day and don't care to answer my question. it was humiliating and just plain gross. be better. read more

Worst groomers ever. Okay - I'm not sure about ever but pretty bad nonetheless. First it took over THREE hours. I purposely made simultaneous appointments with two different groomers for my two schnauzers... the appointments were at 12:30, the dogs weren't done until 3:30! I had my son pick the dogs up and I died when they walked in the door. They look like some cross between a gremlin & a Turkey. Ok that probably doesn't make sense but the point is ugly. One beard doesn't exist and one is short on one side and long on the other. I've had schnauzers for 20 years and have only one other time in those years had such dumb looking haircuts. Im sure there were some mats involved etc but a skilled groomer knows how to work that out and can do it in less then 90 minutes. Needless to say I won't go back. read more

I do not know what they did to lose all their best groomers but I truly hope they've moved to better companies for bigger and better things. Unfortunately for us it means Petsmart has seemingly replaced them almost exclusively with groomers who clearly aren't fully trained, stretched so thin by management, or simply don't care enough to do a good job. Assumedly rushed into the position when all your best employees left. After using their services for years I've reached my breaking point with giving this location, and this company, chances. Dogs sent home not properly bathed, nails missed, choppy and unfinished haircuts. And I can't even blame the groomers per se, I can just tell they're pushed too far, given too little. But it's at the expense of the paying customer. I will no longer will be shopping nor receiving any service here. Based on the talk online and personal experience it is absolutely crystal clear that corporate greed has completely surpassed in importance good service and even just passable haircuts. Do better petsmart. I'll take my pups to a salon whose management can at the very least pretend that quality trumps quantity. Because the reverse is clearly true here. read more

Good training at an affordable price. We took our dog to a training class at this store a little over three years ago. The trainer was very passionate about animals and training. She took the time to get to know us and our dog. Her focus was training and educating; however, she also made it fun for us and our pup. The training was held in the middle of the store which provided the appropriate distractions for training. read more

Brought our two schnauzers to the petsmart groomers due to our local groomer being all booked up for three weeks. Were a little reluctant to go here because of the price but our boys needed their hair cut bad so we just sucked it up. That's really my only complaint. They charged us extra for nail cutting which I think that's part of the grooming process personally not something extra. Also there were a lot of extras that we could have paid for that should be normal grooming practices. Overall we paid almost 50 dollars more than our normal groomer. They did a pretty good job grooming, missed some spots that we had to touch up which shouldn't happen for that price. I think this place will be our last resort again, way over priced. We paid 120 for two dogs where we pay our normal groomer 75. read more

The groomers always handle my dog here so well. I can tell they all genuinely care and love all the animals! My boy is a bit hard to groom because he squirms and barks a lot, but they do their best and he always turns out amazing! I also just completed a beginning training class for him here and I loved the class a lot. I needed the training more than he did, he picked up on everything quicker than me it seemed! But the trainer was very nice and good at what she does, and I appreciated the time she was willing to spend with every individual owner. read more

I feel compelled to write a review - as we had a horrible experience here on JUL 9. I decided to try PetSmart after taking our pup to what I thought was a more expensive salon for his first haircut. I arrived at his appt time and the Groomer set to do the cut was not in the salon or not available. There were 2 folks grooming (1 was a Manager OR definitely in charge of the salon) and a 3rd was checking me in. I SPECIFICALLY, MULTIPLE TIMES with reference to a pup on the table at the time getting a very short haircut that I DID NOT want that cut for my pup. I wanted very minimal off and was unsure about all over (except in the key areas for boys/pups) that need attention. My pup is a Cavachon and looks like a teddy bear. I asked the girl checking me in for her opinion and she while showing me on my pup that she would recommend about an inch off. I said OK to that and she confirmed she would talk to the groomer all the while the other 2 groomers were listening in. My pup did have 2 mats and she took him to this Manager to get her opinion on if she could get them out, and the Manager was confident she could. Fast forward to 3 HOURS later, YES, 3 HOURS later - and I get the call he is ready with the warning from the actual groomer that she tried her best but my pup was wiggly and he is a bit uneven. I thought, how uneven can he be - he didn't get much off? So, I said I'll take a look when I get there. I arrive. See my pup. He is COMPLETELY cut within 1 inch of his skin all over, EXCEPT his head. There is no sign they cut his nails, did not groom between his paws, did not cut around his underbelly and the key boy spot. No sign of cleaning his ears. He had tufts of hair around his bottom and his face which is meant to look square and hair draping around the nose was clipped. So he looks like a raccoon. Also, the 2 mats - no they didn't try to get them out they just cut them off shorter than the rest of the 1 inch of hair left! The groomer and the 3 folks that were there when I checked in were nowhere to be found. They skipped town I guess. When we got to the bottom of what happened - the gal checking us in put in the wrong notes and said instead of an inch off take it down to an inch!!! That shouldn't have mattered in my opinion - you have 3 ppl that should have been able to explain to the groomer what needed to be done and confirm and if nothing else that there was a very sensitive owner in and make sure it is done right! They wanted to charge us $46 for this haircut - but were willing to comp our next visit. We explained there most likely will not be a next time. The store manager who stepped in called the salon manager and eventually comped the visit. My pup was left fearful and the ppl left in the salon were mute. We will NEVER go back and I will be taking all my PetSmart business elsewhere. I took our pup to a different salon this MON to fix the issues left by PetSmart. read more

Well to start off when I went here the staff was very nice and seemed to know half of what they were talking about. The adoption program is pretty cool too, but I have a very serious complaint. I have bought two pocket pets (a guinea pig and a hamster) from this location and both died too early. My guinea pig,Batman, died of a complication of his teeth which caused him to not be able to eat. We had to put him down because he was suffering and we couldn't do surgery. He was only two, so I blame it on the breeding because it was probably hereditary. Next I got a syrian hamster named Otis. He was perfectly taken care of and had everything he needed but one day he just seemed really sick. It was daytime so I thought he was trying to sleep, but he was out in the open and not in his favorite hide out. Later that night I got home and he was dead in the corner of his tank. I hadn't even had him for a year so this leads me to believe he was older than the store said or he got sick. Here's the thing though my mom said he was acting strange and running around a lot during the day. He was not near any fumes, not in direct sunlight, had food and water, enough space, and a clean cage. It was strange and sad and don't wish this upon anyone. I'm definitely not planning on buying any more animals or supplies from this store. read more

Took my sons dog for full grooming, special shampoo, nail grinding, trim.... The staff was disorganized, talked about previous client in front of me and argued about assignments in front of me! Told them twice about grinding nails and special shampoo! When they called to pick up dog, they had not grinned the dogs nails because I didn't ask! (Counting yet 3rd time I asked)! Oh, you get a report card right? Nope! I was just glad to get dog back intact! FYI, I left vets sheet of paper with dogs shots and updates. I called 10 minutes later, to have them look for it. They insisted I took it with me, I said I had not and asked them to look! I was frustrated after being on hold for over 5 minutes and I hung up! I called back, they had not looked, asked again and almost immediately got, "you took it!" When I picked dog up over 3 hours later, I saw paper under counter clipboard, it was the dogs vet sheet! I held it up said I found it and they all avoided eye contact! I'm a former ICU nurse, and I tend to complain when things are bad, but my ICU experience told that this mess was a lost cause! I have never NOT tipped in my life, but when they can't look down for a piece of paper inches from phone and computer, listen to my request till third time or fill out dog report card, that's their job, REALLY? I almost forgot, I had to drive to Stillwater to get new printout of dogs shots from vet. That wasted an hour of my time! read more

This place is very unprofessional. When I called to make an appointment for grooming, they asked if my dog had her rabies shots. I told them that she had them. They asked me to bring paperwork or for me to provide my vet contact info so they can contact them to obtain my dogs rabies shots information. I told them to call me back if they had questions and not even one phone call so I thought everything went fine. The day of my appointment they told me they could not find my vet contact info and we had to wait until they were able to get a hold of the paperwork. I told them they I can not wait and they should have done this a week ago when I made the appointment and why no one bother to call me so I can provide the information. They asked me to reschedule. It was very rude and unprofessional for the staff to not do their job. I will not come here again and will not recommend anyone else too. read more
