We took our 1 year old chocolate lab here for his first nail cut and decided to pay the extra charge for his nails to be ground. The 2 workers weren't very friendly. From what we saw through the glass he was a little squeamish but Kat, the groomer was the only one clipping his nails. When we were called back to pick him up. Kat was unpleasant and told me that we would be charged an additional "handling fee" for next time since he was so much to handle. When we left we looked at his claws and they were all left sharp and jagged. His ears were wet and his eyes were extremely red and teary and we had no clue why. read more

I take both of my girls here for grooming with Isaac and they always turn out fabulous. Isaac always ask how I want them cut and has great recommendations. He's always keeps in mind cost and your pets needs. He just has a way with dogs. It's obvious why his schedule is always packed. I've been taking my Australian Shepherd for baths and grooming at PetSmart for several years, so when we recently moved to Columbus, I was happy to find another location close to home. Unfortunately, my first (and what will be my only) experience with this location was awful. They shaved my dog's fur down so much that she was basically left with nothing more than stubble. And this happened in December, which obviously is not an ideal time for a long haired dog to suddenly have no hair. I have no idea what the groomer was thinking, but I was in shock when I picked up my poor dog. When I brought up my displeasure with the salon manager, she offered to take half off my next service, even though PetSmart is supposed to have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. read more

Took my dog to the vet today. Serious ear problems. I had paid four weeks before to have them cleaned. No way does a dogs ears get this dirty this fast. I paid for ear cleaning that was never done. These employees can tell anyone they cleaned a dogs ears and they don't. He now has an ear infection probably due to the bad cleaning. I have no other problems with Pet Smart. Their products are fine but their grooming dept leaves much to be desired. read more

After talking to my friend yesterday, I can see things at this location in the grooming department haven't changed despite years between experiences. When our dog was still alive, we took her there once for a nail trimming and they manhandled her a bit. (She was only 6 lbs!) That put her on the defensive and they took her "in the back." Lord only knows what they do back there but we joked that they didn't want witnesses. After talking to our friend yesterday, he took their dog to be groomed for the first time and one of the 18 year old "dog experts" got up in the dog's face and shoved a treat in it's face. He backed away because he isn't a big eater and won't take anything from anyone much less strangers and one being so aggressive toward him. She kept saying how stressed the dog was and what was he doing to it at home to stress him out so much. Excuse me!? An older lady came in and let him sniff her hand, scratched him behind the ear and talked sweetly to him and he was totally fine (the dog, not the owner). She said one of the two 'experts' that had originally greeted them would be grooming him and he wasn't comfortable with that but didn't speak up. She came out and again, got in the dog's face without EVER asking if it was okay to pet him, let him warm up to her or approach him like someone who has common sense. Anyone who has ever been around a dog knows you don't stick your face into a strange dog's face and expect they're going to be okay with that. So when he gave a warning bark to back the heck off, she freaked out and basically accused the owner of being aggressive and stressing the dog out and this wasn't going to work out and she wasn't going to groom him. The owner said no it wasn't and that he is a very chill dog when people approach him calmly like the older woman did so even if they were willing to groom him, he was no longer comfortable with this situation and left. He doesn't have a Yelp account so I felt like if nothing else, this story needed to be relayed so that it is known that for years and under different staffing, this grooming department has continued to use people that are not properly trained. That is a corporate issue. You can't slap the word "expert" on someone who has not been through extensive training on how to deal with dogs of all shapes, sizes and temperaments. I can't speak for all groomers there but the two youngest ones he spoke with sound like they have been placed in the wrong department because most dogs are not jazzed about getting their nails cut or some of the other services to keep them looking spiffy. Approach with calm, caution and sweetness and you're halfway there. read more

Worst experience I have ever had with a pet groomer. The staff was rude, unprofessional and seemed annoyed by my presence. My dog was refused service. I was not advised until I was dropping him off for a haircut that I needed his rabies vaccination receipt. Why have I never been asked for this documentation any of the numerous other times I have brought him for grooming? Why was this not mentioned when I booked the appointment 3 weeks ago? Why isn't his current rabies license on his collar tag sufficient? Why wouldn't this information be verified prior to his appointment? I started taking my puppy to the pets hotel day camp when he was 4 months old and he had very bad separation anxiety. To be honest I also had very bad anxiety as he was my first dog and I had to work long hours. Thankfully, after taking him to day camp all my worries subsided and he loooved it there. He would play so hard and come home so tired. The staff is incredible and they go above and beyond! They treat the dogs as if they are their own. They always notified me if my pup was sick or would tell me if he didn't eat when I picked him up. Just walked in to pick up prescription food for my cat and I was told I was not allowed to buy it because I didn't have a "prescription card." Apparently having a prescription from a licensed veterinarian and money was not good enough. Pharmacy technician had already closed down her system so she was unable to make me a card... but was still hanging around to block me from picking up the food that was set out on a shelf and completely accessible for purchase, just as the cashier directed me to. I've never really spent much time in the store, but I do have a lot of pets. A dog, few cats and some aquariums. This place has everything I need to supply my animals. I usually stock up on the items I use the most when they are on sale. Everything in the store is laid out well and pretty easy to find what you're looking for. Customer service here is always great and the staff is always friendly. I use Banfield for my vet services, however, I've never used the grooming service. read more

We take my dog to Doggy Day Camp here once a week. Most of the workers are friendly and incredibly loving toward my puppy. She has a blast when she's there. The only major "con" is that they don't have an outdoor play area, but I don't think Hazel minds as much as I do. read more

This location is very nice, and has a great grooming salon located within. When I had my dog, I would take her to this location to get groomed by Isaac. I feel as if he really cared for my dog, and when I came into Petsmart, leaving my dog at home, Isaac would ask " How is Layva". This location gets five stars :-) read more

RUN RUN if you care about your pets..... I have had my dogs groomed at Petsmart for years in TN and had great experiences. BUT I thought all would be at the same caliber of professionalism , but I was so wrong. Due to my traveling for work I took my dog to the Petsmart on Alamo in Cincinnati for grooming. I received a call that my dog could not be groomed due to "freaking out" when they were drying her , (but that they had cut a strip down her back but it blended in)which has never happened before. I went to pick her up and was met with staff laughing at me telling me to have a good day, being upset due to concern about my dog of 14 years after they tell me she was shaking uncontrollably, barking, uncontrolled bowel movement that they had to put a towel over her face to calm her down. I ask to speak to the manager and they pointed to the back of the room and stated "she's right there" and she did not make an effort to talk to me. I did find a very kind front manager who talked with me about the incident. And then the General Manager came in and I was telling him my concerns and my dog started shaking again. I started getting upset and stated " What is the ----- wrong with Dutch he stated " do not use that language and the conversation is over as he crossed his arms. MY POINT IS "NO COMPASSION, NO PROFESSIONALISM. FYI: I called my groomer at Petsmart in Memphis, she stated that Dutch had never been afraid or reacted this way at anytime they groomed her. She had more concern and compassion than the people where this occurred. read more

Brought my dog in just to get his nails trimmed had to leave to bring back rabies papers, which I understand. So I bring him in again a few months later and they tell me they have my name and email but it's not associated with any dogs. This is the only dog I've ever owned. Now on my only day off I have to drive back home, find his papers, then drive back? I don't think so. I'll take my money elsewhere. I am sorry for yelling in the grooming area though. I've used the grooming (bath and nails only, no clipping) here fairly regularly for several years and it's generally been OK. I also have used the doggie daycare and pets hotel a few times; same thing, usually fine. This past weekend I needed a place for my dog for one night and one day; I booked a stay for him and a day of daycare at Petsmart. The night after I picked him up, he started itching a lot and not eating well. By the next day, I noticed he had a raw, sore-looking spot on his underside. I had to take a couple of hours out of my workday today to take him to the vet. He had a skin irritation and possible infection. Sixty dollars and two medications later, I picked him up; if I'd done other recommended tests, it would have been twice that. I don't think I will be using the daycare and hotel again at the Easton Petsmart. read more

If I could zero I could. This place absolutely sucks. Their customer service sucks their lack of knowledge of their departments sucks. Mangers getting smart and talking out of their butts. It's understandable and appreciated when they try to give there knowledge. But the attitude I received when I disagreed with what the MANAGER said was just ridiculous. If I wasn't standing there with my 10 yr old son I would of totally lost my cool in that store. Keep in mind just because you work in a pet store at 9.00 hr doesn't make you an expert at all. We have been bringing out dog to PETsMART in Reynoldsburg for years. Always the same situation, he has crazy hair and gets matted in summer. But not terrible. Brought him to this one (Easton) and, not only did they charge me $15 more than usual $82 total for a cock apoo!) but they cut his toe nails so short he came home bleeding all over. Completely ignoring the attitude I got because traffic made us 15 minutes late (I called to let them know) and was told because we were late she would do him last. Anyway... Just for the price I doubt I'd go back. Otherwise I suppose it was fine. Just had him shaved. read more

Horrible place. My dog has to have suffered an eye injury while at this location. His eyes were bright and clear before hand, and when he was picked up, his left eye was red, and he could barely open it. The next day it was crusted over and completely shut. Took him to the vet and was told he has swelling in his eye from some kind of trauma sustained. His eye is cloudy. One of the managers was completely unhelpful and put me on hold. They offered to see me in their clinic, but I don't want anything to do with any services Petsmart has to offer. Thankfully, my vet doesn't think he will have any permanent vision loss. We have boarded him here too, a while back, but he had kennel cough symptoms soon after staying. Please do not take your fur babies to this location. read more

I went to PetSmart (3713 Easton Market, Columbus, OH) at 2:47PM Est after having to wait 45-50 minutes to get my dog's Santa pics. I left and was gone for about 20 minutes so I could get the two dogs belonging to a bedbound woman. They knew I was bringing hers because I had already spoke to them. I get back at 2:45 walk in and am told at 2:47 signups are finished, no more santa pics because Santa was leaving at 4PM. So in essence this was not 12-4. this was 12-2:47pm EST. You know I expect more from my local PetSmart and will effectively pull all my business from petsmart because not only did I waste my gas running back down there (WHICH THEY KNEW I WAS COMING BACK) but that lady...oh don't get me started. She thinks she's superior to anyone else and has the worse attitude of anyone I've ever dealt with. I was going to cal in but yes, yes this is better. I love the way the groomers trim out my Schnoodle. Great job. HOWEVER after the last grooming, my wife was in the store, having paid for the grooming and another customer lost grip of her Pit Bull Mix, and my 20 pound Schnoodle (Poodle/Schnauzer HyBred) suffer a brutal attack, and was bitten 4 times before three employees pulled the 65 pound PittBull off my pet. They carried my dog (Wilson) over to their internal hospital (Bamfield) where they prepared a "treatment plan" but would not treat my pet until someone paid the bill, up front. The plan was INFLATED TO $ 500 plus dollars. They did provide my wife the owners telephone number / a discussion ensued and he did offer to pay some $265 (more or less for a lesser treatment). I received a text from my spouse, while I was at work about 25 miles away saying. Come home as soon as you can-----etc. etc. Wilson is ok, but xxxxxxxx. I did, after getting home and calming down called and asked for THE Manager. Got an assistant, who said oh...sorry but I will have the Manager speak with you. Not the best customer service to screen a call, when a Customer of 30 years, asks for THE MANAGER. Manager says -- we are not responsible....you need to talk to the Pitt Bull owner...... Well YES, YOU DO HAVE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MAYHEM IN YOUR STORE, ON ROME-HILLIARD ROAD, HILLIARD,OHIO. I asked if he had filled out an incident report, he replied yes, but I could not have a copy of that. I advised him, that my Daughter is an attorney and I would have no issue supinoing information for discovery. But he should ask his Legal Department to contact me. Been 3 days, and no calls, no feedback from the store ( PETS ARE WELCOME HERE). He, in essence told me to sue the PitBull owner. Mr. Boyd, should be overjoyed to know that Pet Smarts Manager wants to throw him under the bus. HEY PETSMART---contact me, if I go to your store, I shall be unhappy.....Perhaps a PICKET SIGN on Saturday or Sunday may get the manager's attention. I absolutely HATE this place ! Its completely unorganized and unproffesional. I had signed up my puppy Daphne for obedience training (i spoke with the trainer and she was the one who signed me up for the class). She told me the date and time i asked her to repeat it.She confirmed it and then a month latter i called them to confirm the date and time (i spoke with someone in training asking to to confirm the class date and time ). He gave me an attitude asking why i wanted to confirm. He said it was correct. Two days latter I get to the class 20 minutes early after my mother brought my puppy to my work to make sure i made it to the class on time. The class was the previous night! I was livid on top of the fact that they said that the person who was suppose to be my trainer was never going to be my trainer! This was never told to me. I asked for my money back. I called the manager the next day after they said he would be tbere (he wasnt schedueled to be there for two days). I ended up speaking with the guy who had an attitude before and gave my a half appology and said he was the one that confirmed the class. He said he just assumed that the date i gave him was correct. I asked him if he bothered to check a scheduled he said nothing. He was useless to talk to. I called 2 days latter and spoke with the main manager and he was florred. I asked for a gift card. I got it a week latter. Dont use this bussiness. I wont use them again read more

I've taken my precious pup to the daycare several times. Very happy with the sevices. But the grooming could use some instruction. I have a Bichon NOT A POODLE! And I didn't want her to be groomed like one. Also the bandana wrapped around her neck only temporarily camouflaged the place where you shaved her down to the skin. If you mess up just say so. I have a one year old male Cockapoo that I have taken to get groomed at this location twice. The first time he was groomed they cut his hair shorter than it had ever been cut before, and charged me more than twice the amount that other more local pet groomers charged me in the past. But, because I wanted the best for my dog and believed that they were giving it to him, I took him back a second time. I will not make this mistake again. About an hour into his appointment I got a voicemail from the person grooming him (who was an obese, unattractive and very unfriendly woman) in a panicked voice telling me that they had to cut his hair shorter than expected but you "could not see his skin" and they did this because they claimed he was "too matted." I'll concede that he was matted, but very minimally and in very few (and easily hidden) places. His hair had been much worse in the past and groomers had managed to avoid shaving him. I do not believe for a second that shaving him was the only option. When I arrived to pick up my dog, he looked visibly sad and frightened. I quickly paid the horribly expensive bill and left in a hurry, feeling entirely responsible for having left my dog in such incapable hands. When I expected him further at home that night, it became obvious the hair on his face was unevenly cut and they left a nail on his paw uncut. If you care at all about your dog you will not take him to be groomed here. The establishment is overpriced, the groomers are criminally negligible, and the atmosphere leaves something to be desired. The way they treated my dog is inexcusable and if there was any avenue I could take that would properly punish them for what they did, I would do it. You'd be much better off outside of a chain store. read more

BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS DOGGIE DAYCARE, PLEASE READ!!! I've been taking my dog to the doggie day camp ever since he was a pup (he just turned 3). He always seemed to have a great time, was exhausted when I picked him up, and everyone was very friendly. The week before Christmas, I received a voicemail that my dog had been injured during camp. I wasn't able to check my messages until I was on my way to pick him up, so by the time I got there he had already been taken to the Banfield located in the store. At that point they informed me that he had actually been bitten by another dog, and the vet was going to clean him up so we could go home (he had three deep puncture wounds on his back leg...it looked like three golf tees had been pushed deep into his leg. My dog is 95 pounds). While I was waiting, the store manager tried to explain to me what had happened...told me that no one knew exactly what had happened, but someone would call me the next morning after they had a chance to review the video tapes. I wasn't very happy with this explanation, but decided to wait and see what they said the next morning. When I got home, I got a better look at my dogs leg and it was pretty bad...completely bruised and swollen, with the three large punctures and several small scrapes. I found it hard to believe that no one knew what had happened...this wasn't just a little nip. So, the next day came, and no one from the camp called me. I called them late afternoon, and the girl I reached basically just read to me what they had told me the night before. This did not make me happy, and I told her someone needed to call me ASAP to discuss what was found on the video, etc. The next morning, I still didn't hear from anyone, so I called again and the same thing basically happened. Finally, the day camp manager called that afternoon and said she was unaware that I was told someone would call me the day after this happened...IMHO they should have called me first thing the morning after he was bit to follow up anyways, whether I asked them to or not. Anyways, she said they reviewed the tape and were unable to determine which dog bit mine, but they had it narrowed down to two, which they would keep their eye on to watch for more aggressive behavior. She also said that none of the employees had seen what happened. That was the last that I heard. My point to her was that I wasn't mad that he was bit (dogs are dogs, I get it. Things happen), but I was very upset in the fact that I was paying $20 for supervised day care, and yet no one had any clue what had happened, and no one called me to follow up until 3 days later. Today, I decided to give it one more try. When I called to make the appt, I asked that they make sure that my dog was not in the same play room as the two dogs that possibly bit him. The response I got was "ok". When I picked him up today, I asked again, "did someone make sure that he was not in the same room as those other two dogs (if they were there). The girl had no idea what I was talking about, and again read me the notes from the computer, which was all the information I already had from when the incident occurred, then told me that there were no notes on which two dogs they thought might have bit him. HOW CAN YOU MAKE SURE DOGS ARE SEPARATED IF YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHICH ONES TO SEPARATE?!?!?!? AND HOW CAN YOU MONITOR THESE DOGS TO MAKE SURE THEY DON'T BITE ANOTHER DOG IF YOU DON'T NOTATE WHICH ONES THEY ARE???? I was so mad when I left, and I informed them that my dog will no longer be going there, which is sad because it's convenient for me, and Cooper really seems to like it. But, I'm more than willing to endure a little inconvenience and find a nicer place a little further away if it means I will be leaving my dog with people that actually pay attention to what is going on, and understand what customer service is. They're only getting the extra star because this is really my first incident there, but it's kind of a big one that I think shows their true customer service values. BEWARE!!! read more
