I come here once a month or so just to look at the cats they have. I do love that you're able to pet them through the cage and they always have a lot of space and tons of toys, comfort, and food. I do not support how they keep their beta fish in tiny containers, I think that is absolutely deplorable. Their prices are also a bit steep. I wish all petsmarts took more care of their animals, even the small ones like fish. They still matter. read more

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD!!!!!! I took my mini wiener dog to get his nails cut and they basically told me I couldn't watch through the window and to go walk around the store... after I heard the lady CALL FOR BACK UP OVER THE SPEAKER IN THE GROOMING AREA, I started to walk around the corner to see what was going on. The ladies were very forcefully holding and squeezing the dog. When she called me back, she said they could only do his nails and not trim the hair around it because "he was TURNING PURPLE AND HOLDING HIS BREATH" ... umm... sorry WHAT? I've tried to contact customer service THREE TIMES bc every time the initial person to contact me says they are submitting it to higher management and I should hear back in 48 hours. IT HAS BEEN MONTHS, still nothing. I seriously thought I was getting pranked. My dog has long hair! How did you see him turning purple????? I don't think dogs can purposefully hold their breath either. so with that being said I'm really concerned for the people they hire and the process they go through to get hired because it clearly isn't oh nice anything that ensures their employees don't know what the fuck they are doing. Don't bring your dog here for a groom. When you have an appointment they don't see your dog for several hours then hurt your dog. When the groomer went to take my puppy back, she bent over to grab his leash and dropped the scissors out of her pocket (blade down) right next to my puppy. so before he even got seen they almost stabbed him. Then they actually sliced open my puppy's paw pad with scissors during the groom and tried to blame it on my dog. my puppy has never had a complaint before with groomers or vets, they've always loved him and told us how good he was. they just don't know how to properly handle dogs. After they cut his paw pad with sharp scissors they brought him to grady's hospital where we had to sit for 5 hours (no joke) and spent 200 dollar out of pocket for everything. They finally wrote us a check after a week and a half. We even had to buy bandages from walmart and cvs to keep up with our puppy's injury because it was still bleeding after 3 full days of rest and the bandage from the emergency vet. On top of this, my 7 month-old puppy is now TERRIFIED of groomers and won't sit still anymore. All my training and socializing him to the noises and being handled in a grooming salon have now gone to complete and utter waste. They truthfully owe us money for the 3 trips back and forth from petsmart (30 mins from home) and the hospital (1 hour from home) because of this incident, the lost dog training, the extra bandages we needed (at least 50 dollars), our time spent (at least 8+ hours), and interest on the money we had to pay out of pocket at the hospital. Grooming here is a joke. It's expensive and they don't take gentle care of your dog nor do they know how to handle dogs properly. Don't waste your money or risk your pet's health. I won't ever bring any of my dogs to petsmart grooming again. It's a shame it's the only place with my cats litter and food so i still have to give them money. Not even worthy of one star!! My appt today was at 10:30... my dog is a Puggle so they do "express" they say she can't go in a kennel because this breed has a collapsible trachea. Not sure why that would matter unless they tether them inside the cage. Anyway - I'm on time... get checked in by the girl who is doing the grooming. (Very friendly) She says 1 to 1.5 hours. She'll call me when to pick-up. Perfect! All I did was run to Meijer. At 11:23 they call & say she's ready. I said I'm checking out & will be right there. Whoever it was who called said - That's fine - see you soon!! I walk in at 11:39 & there was a girl holding Hopes leash at the counter... not the groomer I left her with. This girl could not have been anymore rude!!! She literally dropped the lead across the door onto my dogs back. She told me "next time, you need to come immediately when called"... I told her I was just called & came right away. I had to drive there -- She told me "we can't be expected to stand here and hold your dog for 20 minutes". I told her when I got the call I came immediately.... I was literally across the street. Had I been at home it would have been a few minutes longer... obviously I had to drive back. They have dead fish in the aquariums.... not a good look for someone wanting to buy fish for their aquarium. On top of that Im looking for oscars for @ least 10 minutes straight without anyone coming to help, but as soon as 3 Caucasien males walk in, now the female comes over immediately... Scheduled a grooming appointment, showed up less than ten minutes late and they refused to take our pup.

This was our first visit for our dogs nails to be clipped. (fri jan 1,2021) we called to schedule the nail appointment. spoke to a girl named India who booked us. India was also the girl that took our dog back to do the nails. we waited all that time for her to finish and she brought our dog back out saying she couldn't clip the nails because he was nipping at her. seriously?! he's 9 pounds! you're in the grooming business and you have NO WAY of figuring out how to be able to perform your job duties?! why did YOU book us and why did YOU take him? here's the kicker..... she handed us the paper to go PAY!!!! pay for WHAT?! waiting forever to hear you're not capable of performing your job duties? We told the manager and he agreed there should be No charge. but the audacity shows the level of the lack of compassion and lack of professionalism. And to whom ever had the little black dog in there at the same time.... they were yelling at your dog very loudly causing the poor thing to shake. i will NEVER EVER choose this place again. read more

First thing, I wouldn't groom there. I was shopping and walked past the grooming section. Two women who were working there were having a loud conversation about a dog who had "only been in this cage since 9, and sh*t this much!" (It's nearly 6 now.) The woman proceeded to say she wanted to "smack the sh*t" out of the dog. The dogs were in cages that were lined up on the floor right in the customers' walkway. The dogs' waste was visible, and they were barking very loudly. Aside from grooming, upon entering the store, I noticed that it's oddly dark in there. I walked past several workers and none of them greeted me. I walked up and down several aisles looking for something I couldn't find, an associate saw me doing this, but didn't offer to help. I did find an associate who explained to she was from another store and was there to help set up Halloween. She assisted me. I'm giving this store 2 stars because of her kindness an the fact that they do have a lot of items. I won't go there again, though. read more

This petsmart sucks, back in October I took my dog there for his usual grooming within an hour after I left, they were calling me telling me my dog was bleeding and they took him over to banfield to check out why he was bleeding and they said my dog was fine and he can continue to get groomed, my dog never gets nervous while he's getting groomed unless someone is making him nervous, when I picked him up that day, they just gave him an shampoo and haven't even started to give him an haircut, so I I think this particular groomer made him nervous. Fast forward to 1-13-2021 I called to make an appointment for him to get groomed, they told me cause my dog gets nervous and he had an heart murmur and his age, they can't groom him anymore, so I asked to speak to the manager and the manager told me it was up to the groomer if they feel comfortable grooming my dog. What kind of grooming place is this, my dog has been going to petsmart in oakley for 7 years and had no problems, when we moved and I transfered my dog to the colerain location, it's all of an sudden an problem, no I just think Petsmart needs to hire better qualified dog groomers than the ones that they got.So therefore I will not return that location. read more

Store is always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. I frequent the grooming department here. I have a Siberian Husky and Multipoo which have very different grooming needs and the staff has always done a good job. My Husky in particular is nervous and Darian in the grooming department has worked with her a lot. I'll continue to take my dogs here and would highly recommend Darian in grooming. I also attended dog training courses at this location and had good experiences with the in-store trainers. read more

My dog and I really like this store. My dog is very shy and they do their best to make friends with her and make her comfortable. Their training helped her a lot. She is very well behaved. The staff are friendly, helpful and well informed. I use the treat points and get a few dollars off occasionally. When the weather is bad I take my dog there to walk through the aisles. They do not care if we only walk and don't buy. read more

Most of the time they are very nice here at checkout, but yesterday I had to return a bunch of cans of cat food bc they were on sale. So I bought a lot of these cans but my cats didn't like it so I had to return it. I told the manager who was handling my return that I was sorry, but my cats didn't like it. He said, "Well, you should have made sure your cats liked it first!" OMG, so I'm supposed to buy one can of ea. flavor, take it home, see if my cats like it, then come back by which time the sale is probably off or they are all bought up. Whatever you do- don't spend the money, time, and energy for their dog trainer. The trainer was a really negative environment. To start, the trainer claimed that my partner "had no expression" and continued to comment on his personality. Don't comment on someone's expression without knowing what they are going through. Secondly, my dog is a 6-month puppy. She had just been spayed and we did the "walk exercise" anyway. I explained that she did not get to go outside and play so she is wild and not going to want to walk. We were then given "product recommendation". The trainer put a dog harness on her that was far too tight. The harness was used to take her on walks. After her walk, we noticed that her legs were bloody. The harness was too tight and burned her fur off her and cut her on both legs. The next week, I addressed the problem and was blamed for the issue and moved on with class. I then emailed corporate. Corporate allowed the dog trainer call me and instead of discussing what went wrong, she debated with me. It was the most negative, pathetic conversation I have ever had. I don't understand how one can't see these issues. As pet owners, we deserve more respect and so does our dog. I will never support this place. ever. again. I tried to love it-but it's hard when they cant accept feedback. read more

I'm done with this place. I called yesterday to make an appointment for grooming. I was given no instructions or info except to bring shot records. My dog gets very anxious when she goes in the car or when I leave her so I had given her a vet prescribed pill to help with that. It doesn't put her out or make her loopy, just calms her. I thought I was doing the right thing for my dog and the right thing by telling them, however they said they do not groom dogs that have been given anything. My complaint is not necessarily that they have this policy (but I would think it would be better for the groomer if the dog is calm). My aggravation is the fact that I wasted my time AND gave my dog an unnecessary pill. I asked if they publicize this fact and they said, "no we just inquire when you check in". Why don't you put this on your website and tell people when they schedule an appointment! Anyway, I scheduled with another groomer for tomorrow and they don't have this stipulation. read more

I showed up for a grooming appointment with a confirmation number from the online appointment service. My appointment was with the manager, Ellen by referral. When I got there they couldn't find my appointment. After further searching they discovered they moved my time and groomer. No apology or options were offered and Ellen wouldn't even come out of the back room to explain in person. I think they may have done me a favor in the long run as all the dogs and groomers in the salon looked miserable. The salon I go to in Newport is the exact opposite. I had a 11am appointment (and I realize it was the holidays) but 2 hours later when I checked on my dog he hadn't been started. Then 30 minutes later I'm called he's ready. He was to have a bath, cut, nail trim and anal gland cleanse. How do you even get a bath and blow dry in that amount of time? When I saw him I was furious. It looked like they'd used a weedwacker on him. Tuffs of hair stuck out everywhere. On one side he had a furrow down his side where they'd cut the hair way shorter than the hair around it.
