This is my new pet store 100 percent. It's pretty big and even sells prescription cat and dog food where many locations don't or they will simply order it. Here I can get my cat food right away without waiting. They have a Banfield pet hospital here as well. When you bring them your vet prescription they will give you a medical card which you can use instead of bringing your prescription every time. I do like that. The employees are very nice and knowledgeable and the store is always clean and stocked. The Petco near me always seems to be out of stock on things. I do like their rewards program as well. Always saving on things and use my cash credits all the time. The location is perfect even though they have a very busy in and out burger here. Always lots of parking. read more

This was our second time taking our dog Max to the PetSmart groomer and both experiences have been great! The staff is friendly, professional, and did an excellent job grooming Max. He can be very skittish and shy, but we could tell he was well taken care of here. We were especially cautious after a previous bad experience elsewhere that left Max with clipper burns. That made us extra careful in choosing a new groomer. PetSmart has really earned our trust. The grooming packages are reasonably priced, and we appreciate the flexibility in scheduling appointments and choosing a groomer. I have been taking my 14 year old Shih Tzu (Molly) to PetSmart (Chula Vista South) for a while now. Each time that I take her, I have Michael give her a bath, brush out, as well as a teeth brushing. It takes less than two hours and when Molly is done, I not only get a phone call but also an email and a link to pay online if I wish. Molly always returns home happy as well as smelling and looking good. I will keep taking her there for services as long as Michael takes care of her. We have been taking our dog here for grooming for many years and have always had a great time. Unfortunately, we can no longer recommend. Felipe claimed our dog was too oily and charged us an extra $10. He also claimed he was "matted" however he is brushed regularly and did not have any mats. He also ridiculed us for bringing our dog in later in the day claiming he "took longer" because he is an older dog. To top it off he cut our dog and did not inform us. My poor dog was not treated well. He was incredibly rude. I don't even want to think how he treated our dog. Please groom your fur babies elsewhere. Zero stars if I could. Brought my dog to the groomers twice and both times were not very good. The first time, he smelled good for about a day but it went away very quickly. The second time we went, we told them to use a shampoo that would make him smell good for a while. They did listen and he still smells very good weeks later. But we did get a call to pick him up early because he was whining and being loud. I do not think it was a problem with them but more of how my dog is a puppy and wanted to probably play with the other dogs. He was sent home not fully dry but it was not that big of a deal. You could tell that he was not scrubbed very well as his fur is shedding. read more

I had the best supportive experience at this store. The male staff at the checkout and the female staff member were amazing. It meant so much to me to get helped with finding the right items for my new pet. The male staff was kind to give me an end hangs for gps name tag after I messed up the process to engrave the name. The female staff assisted me with the process to ensure it went smooth. I love that they sell teal collars and leashes for dogs. The color teal represents survivors of sexual assault and my dog will be trained to be a service dogs. My experience here was filled with so much support o really needed the most. I can barely function these days with simple tasks like shopping. If anyone is ADA or special needs this store is best with a staff that can really help you . I went to get some dog food with a Vet prescription and they still make you get a "med card" which is fine but the problem is they don't even have staff at the Banfield Hospital inside that is supposed to give it to you. Really frustrating waiting there and nobody came out, I had to leave. If you are going to require a "med card" ASIDE from the vet prescription- make sure you are staffed enough to actually have someone provide it. read more

The grooming salon at this location sucks! Don't pay for sucky service! I've taken my Goldendoodle twice to this location and they always do a bad job! After 1 day my dog smells again and this is usually not the case with other groomers! Also, they took 4 hours and did not dry his hair completely, the excuse was that he did not let himself when this is not the issue at other locations. My dog is 1 1/2 years old and is use to being clean since we take him to his groomers every 2 weeks but this time I was not able to take him since his groomers closes earlier. There was nobody around either to help me with any questions so my husband said let's just leave we went to petsmart and had a better shopping experience in every way :). I got a deal on a 6 piece flea treatment from a brand that is new to them called activyl. I grabbed a 6 pack and googled it online. Online it was $59.40 and in the store the price was $89.THEY WILL MATCH YOUR PRICE!! Omg I was so happy. I walked out the store paying $60 :). that's a COME UP right there!! Worst service to trim nails. My dog only needs the "thumb" nails cut and they charge as full on service. They didn't want to receive us because they supposedly were going on their break and my dog was "aggressive " I told them they must have their notes wrong and with a very bad attitude helped us. We had the most horrible experience here despite being customers for over 10 years. Today, took my dog in for a 9 am appointment. After 5 hours I called for an update and the female said that my dog is not done yet. I asked how much longer and the female on the phone replied by saying "I don't know, maybe 30- 1 hrs or so." She seemed bothered by the questions. We received a call 6 hours later that my dog is ready. My dog is a 6/7 lb dog. My son went to pick up the dog and they told my son, that I was cursing and using obscene language which is untrue. Then the female started to talk about my mother dog and saying that her dog is a biter. My mom's groomer never said anything about her dog biting people. My mother went to go speak to the "manager" a man with glasses and he said he is standing by his employees and threatened to band our dogs from groomer. My mother told them, don't bother, we won't bring our dogs here no more. Horrible experience. Groomers need training on customer service. read more

Yikes. There are Multiple tanks with various species of fish DEAD. I brought it to one employees attention and he blamed it on a "bad shipment". When I pointed out that some of the dead fish were growing some sort of substance on them, meaning they had been there dead for awhile, he just shrugged his shoulders and couldn't have cared less. Disappointment and disgust is a massive understatement. Pet Smart, if you're not capable of providing a sustainable environment for your living animals, stop carrying them. Clearly the company and the employees alike don't care. This was very upsetting to see. On a side note; 5 stars for Oscar the cashier. I arranged a grooming appointment for my dog. This PetSmart is next to a Banfield Pet Cinic. Pet Smart grooming ask the Banfield clerks/vet techs about my dogs medical history. Banfield clerks gave them the information without my consent or the doctors consent. I was accused of lying about my dogs heart condition. I told them that the vet who happened to be off that day have given me a grooming consent letter. The groomer Felipe went to Banfield while I was discussing the issue with the clerks. He injected himself in the conversation and because I was upset that I was questioning their unprofessional practice and instead of apologizing to me, he got angry at me and said that he will not schedule my dog for grooming because I was upset and questioning them. The manager, Reyna at Pet Smart also did not see the issue of privacy intrusion in this situation. Felipe also sarcastically told me to "have a good day" as I was leaving the grooming room. I made a complaint to the corporate office of Pet Smart and will hear from them in a few days. I was not treated with respect or listened to causing me to be really upset. These people need training regarding medical document privacy and dealing with angry customers. I have to give them a copy of my dog's vaccination from Banfield, so why do they think that they can go to the clerks to get my dogs medical Information. Those clerks/vet techs are not professionals who knows how to read a doctor's note accurately!!! read more

When they called to let me know my dog was ready for pick up after his grooming appointment they said they weren't able to get to his nails because it's a 2 person job. After arriving at this location to pick him up , I asked for a discount since the service wasn't preformed. I was told she couldn't give me a discount because it's included in the package . Offered to have me bring him in on another date as a walk in to have the service done . I don't have the extra time to do so, that's why I made the appointment. Also charged me an extra $20 to brush him out to get loose hair (which the furminator package already includes up to 20 mins of brushing with the furminator & undercoat tools) . I was on hold for 20 minutes on the phone because the girl was dumb and didn't know what times they had available. Often when I walk into Petco or PetSmart I smell the pleasant scent of urine. NOT at this location!! I could actually breathe in this store. I was also greeted and helped by three employees while looking for an XL shirt and a birthday cake for my Mini Bulldog. She has a large chest but a tiny body so it's really hard to fit her. The selection of XL shirts are very limited at this location and there was no cute birthday theme items. They did however have this tiny birthday pie but I decided against it. I ended up grabbing a large shirt and three Kong toys. The large shirt didn't fit well but I don't have time to run to a different store so it will have to do. Customer service was very helpful and I give that department 5 stars. The selection on XL shirts I would give a 1 star, the store had three XL shirts. I also notice they don't sale her Taste of the Wild dog food? Blue buffalo is the closest to her food. Overall experience with employees and it not smelling like a farm, I give 4 stars!! read more

Dead beta fish 4/1 and informed a man I think his name might have been Joe, but any way he said "oh there's someone that comes by to check" like check to see if the fish are dead?! I came back the next day(today)to buy a matching leash for my dog and the dead fish was STILL THERE dead in it's container. Poor fish! Has no one come by to even feed these fish?! There were about 5 floor employees and no one can remove the poor deceased fish?? 4/2 the same man who said "someone would check" on the fish was working on cash register 2. Looked into the fan tailed goldfish and looking into the decor, there was another inside of the fake grass. Came back the next day, and they clearly they do not daily check the tanks . I considered buying another gold fish but after seeing that, I don't want to buy one to just get sick and compromise my other fish. We had made a purchase back in April for my daughter's turtle aquarium it was a hanging lamp. She did not need it and wanted to return. With the COVID crisis going on she was told to wait until after to return it. On the receipt it said all returns and exchanges were suspended. She did not call or check the website. When we tried to return at the store it was purchased. They were rude and said they wouldn't take it back. I decided to call this store and I was treated very nicely by a young man. He said he would override and it would be no problem. I went in and he was gone for the day but the new young man on shift was very kind and did the return.
