I was in the store getting my son a pet for his birthday he turning 3years old. he is very exited he scream looking at the fish,he loves fishes and only cuz he was be in loud normal of a kid. We got told by a PetSmart employee that there was multiple complains and that my kids are to loud. As a parent I am upset not because my kids are be in loud but because they are kids and is normal for a kid to be exited to see an animals. We took our Golden Retriever in for grooming last weekend. He NEEDED to be groomed badly, was shedding, and had some mats behind his ears. We were aware. BUT, when you purchase the most expensive package, you expect superior treatment. This is THE MOST compliant dog ever. Patience is a requirement and is expected when using an electric trimmer. The groomer tore him up. Ears, foot pads, even his back, all over he is cut, scraped, and raw. Worst part? They didn't care enough to make us aware when we picked him up. Never again, no matter how much of a pinch we're in. Beware. Not only $140.00 to put this sweet baby through hell, but quite probably a vet bill to get this ear healed. read more

Not only did Tori stop what she was doing to assist me with my search for pet food but she took her time to help me research some foods online to help me find a comparable brand...... yet she wasn't at all bothered. She was super friendly and really impressed me. Great hire Mr. or Ms. Manager. The old fashion way of delivering outstanding customer service....it should be the current way but I think many have lost sight of how to deliver......Tori should teach a class. Always find this place interesting. Looks like a pet store, smells like a pet store, and well, it is a pet store. I must have been here a hundred times and the staff always seem to be subdued. Not friendly, overly talkative (which isn't a bad thing), not polite, just there to serve --very drone like -- that feels like that's all they're there for. As for the store, they always have everything I've ever needed and much more. They have a fantastic inventory, always well stocked shelves, and airy feeling inside. Easy parking outside, and quick access to and from surrounding main streets. Great store but don't go there looking for too much conversation or human-like interaction. read more

I will not be returning to the Rea Rd location. If you are in need of a pet prescription, do not go. For years I went with a picture of my prescription on my camera, At check out the key the number and we're good to go. Today they want to see the full prescription on a Saturday afternoon I didn't have it so they refused to sell it but I did have the number. Work worked in years past but not today. I started out my day a bit apprehensive about taking my pom mix, Lucy, to the PetSmart Grooming Salon based on previous Yelp reviews. However, after trying to brush out the matted and shedding hair I took a leap of faith. They had actually groomed my Chow Mix about a year ago and did a great job, so I figured why not. Aubrey met me at the counter and did a consult with me about fur length and what would work best for Lucy. I told her she had never been professionally groomed before and wasn't sure how she would behave. Aubrey said she'd take good care of her and so I left nervous, but optimistic. When I picked Lucy up, she looked like an adorable mini lion and didn't seem the least bit distressed! Lu looks fantastic and I will definitely be bringing her back for future grooming services! read more

Came into the store to get everything I needed for my new pup. He was scared walking around the store and I needed to carry him around with me. Bryant came over to ask if there was anything I needed help with, and I told him it was my first day with the little guy and I needed some help with picking some items out. He helped me fit him for a harness, pick out a good puppy food and a good crate for him. Not only did he help me pick these out, but he carried them around the store for me, brought them to the register and all the way to my car so I could hold the scared little guy. Let's start with the banfield in house vet services. Don't judge all banfields by this location. Service is terrible. When my dog developed diabetes I received no help or training on how to read his glucose. In fact they didn't have me checking it at all. Thank goodness I have a vet friend that told me what I needed to do. When I told them the insulin wasn't working and I gave them the glucose readings the response was "it worked for us" bring him in and we will do another glucose curve ($200+) I just took my pet to a different banfield location for another situation and it is in a different league. Sooooo much better! Grooming salon.... After paying for the nail trimming and the extra for the grinding they forgot 1 nail which I didn't check on their work. Partially my fault? Maybe.... Anyway, That nail got caught on something and broke. Which prompted an emergency visit to banfield. Rea rd turned me away at 6pm on a Friday (quitting time) which I guess is a blessing because I found a much more friendly and attentive location. I will not go back to this location for grooming or the banfield services. read more

If I could give a minus number here I would. My daughter took our puppy in this morning to be washed, nails trim, the works. Let's not talk about the staff not being warm and fuzzy. We got a call shortly after saying our puppy was ready for pickup. Omg, we picked her up. She had on a pink bandanna but she smelled like they just ran water over her, dried her off and put a bandana on her. We will not use this part of this PetSmart ever again. The hospital part is wonderful. The store part is wonderful. But the grooming area did an u acceptable job today on our sweet puppy. Never again. Since my puppy hasn't had all his vaccinations yet, I haven't taken him there for grooming or training classes - so expect a follow up review from me once I have done so. They have a Banfield Vet in-store in the back staffed with nice people. You can see what's going on in the grooming area, which is kind of cool. Decent fish selection. Not too many birds. Gerbil, hamsters section. Cat Condo's in the back which Carolina P.A.W.S uses for kitty adoption events on the weekends. The volunteers there are very nice and they have some beautiful, friendly cats and kittens. Decent selection of food and other supplies for your pet/animal care needs. read more

My 17 year old dog has been going here for a long time seeing Christina, who knew not to crate him because he is so old he has a hard time standing up on slippery surfaces. I called to make an appt for my dog and explained when I got there that he was more sleepy than usual because of new pain medicine for his arthritis but he was alert when I got there. I reiterated that he cannot stand on his own on slick floors or surfaces like what's in a kennel and he is about 100 pounds so common sense would tell you not to crate him if you can't get him up. An hour later I get a call he's been in a crate in their kennel all that time and they've been trying to get him up unsuccessfully for 15 min. I got there and he was asleep so they had been trying to basically dead lift 100 pounds in a crate near the ground where thy couldn't even stand up to lift him and he probably nipped at anyone trying to lift him so awkwardly while he was sleeping. This was so stupid I could not believe someone who knew the dog and his history would do this. Even after I got him out easily for them by myself they said they couldn't cut his matts off safely so I had to get a razor and groom him myself for hours after work. It was obvious that swimming in the pool and laying on one side too much had gotten his hair so matted that it was uncomfortable and this lady didn't care. She was also tugging on his leash too hard in my opinion when she took him from me and I'm disgusted with the whole place. He's old and moved slowly and doesn't need someone tugging hard on his neck. I would never go there again. There were some nice people working there who were friendly but my dog was mistreated. read more

Never Ever take your dog here to be groomed!!! This is going to be long sorry, but seriously I made the mistake of coming here too many times!! Okay so I have brought my dog here a handful of times and only twice has he come home okay. You think I would have learned my lesson but turns out it took awhile. The first time I brought him here he had a reaction to the shampoo and developed hot spots which can be hard to get rid of. They won't care for your animal if they have hot spots. So when I finally brought him back in again we all agreed to use the hypo shampoo that had no scent etc. Went and got him and he was perfectly fine so I figured okay problem solved. So I took him again and this time when they brought him out (mind you he now hates going to the groomers and I couldn't figure out why*more on that later*) and he practically jumped the door to get out. It was a mad house so I took him and left. Once I got home I realized that wait this isn't his collar?? So I called and they have no recollection of me or his collar. Wait no recollection of me/my dog/ or his collar that had his NAME on it with his rabies tag and name tag?? So I had to shell out money to replace those and he had another reaction to being there. I make another appointment for a bath and to have him shaved and the girl on the phone didn't add the shaved part so when I show up they tell me sorry he's only scheduled for a bath we can't help you with the other. So he has a bath and he seems to be okay. He still hates going there but I chalk it up to just my bad luck. Nope... no that is just not the case. I make one final appointment to get him bathed and Shaved because I haven't found a new groomer that doesn't cost more than it costs me to have my hair done yet other than Petsmart that's in my area and we're going on vacation. I take him in and they do their check and deem him good to go, so I leave him there at 10am. I get a call at noon saying we just did a check and discovered a spot and took him to banfield to have it checked out. They said they could give him a bath but not shave him. I asked if they could at least scissor cut him because he desperately needs a hair cut and his hot spot isn't going to heal well if it can't get air... they said no. Fine whatever it's your policy I will let that go however I want to know why it is noon and you are just NOW checking my dog again?? I'm seriously mad that he was crated for 2 hours before someone decided to touch him!! I get there to pick him up and he's visibly upset and wants out of there as fast as possible. They pull his collar for me to hook his lead and what do you know that's not his collar. It's a dirty orange collar (my dog had a fairly new black choke collar). So I said to them calmly but not nicely that's not his collar. They all stopped and stood looking at me with this shocked dumbfounded look. The woman was like well this is collar that was in his cage it must be his. The girl who checked him in actually said yeah that's the one that was put in his cage with him. So they go back there searching... girl who checked him in comes back and says you know actually I don't think he had a collar on when you brought him in. I'm sorry say what?? I got mad but again said calmly this is the SECOND time you have lost his collar and I stood there not moving. They all stared for awhile longer until the girl finally said well I can note it in the account and we can replace the collar right now. Oh okay good so we go and I show her what he had on and said that his was black. She picks up a red one. She fit him for it and said okay but I found a black one and handed it to her (if you're going to replace something you should replace it with the same thing). She goes and tells the store manager so they can take the sensor off and write it off and he's dumbfounded as to how they lost a collar, comes up to me and says sorry about that we've had issues with collars disappearing lately. The girl has the nerve to laugh and say yeah they're kind of like socks around here. So wait let me get this straight you bring him out terrified in the wrong collar... pretty much accuse me of lying about it not being his collar, then accuse me of lying saying he didn't have one when he came in... and NOW you're telling me this happens regularly??? Nope NEVER coming back here again. I will drive out to Indian Trail to take him to his old groomer before I will bring him back here again. OH and FYI the reason he kept having a reaction to the shampoo is because they weren't washing it all out!!! Discovered that as well. All the dogs I saw there Sat looked terrified and were crying... seriously you would have thought it was a shelter!! I suggest staying as far away as possible to the Pet Smart Groomers on Rea Rd across from Blakeney!!! read more

We took Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog classes with Edie and could not have been happier. She is so patient and does a great job teahing both the dogs and their parents! My dog loved her and would get so excited when I said we were going to see Edie. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs any level of dog training. I had a REALLY not great experience at the Pet Smart grooming salon off Rea Road. I've been a loyal grooming salon customer but typically go to a different location. I made an appointment for two of my little pups to get their nails trimmed for 8am this morning. I received text confirmations for these appointments. I booked so early because I wanted to get this done before I started work. I show up and find another customer waiting. The grooming salon looks closed - no lights on. We wait about 20 minutes before we find a store employee. She comes back a few minutes later to tell us the salon employee is running late (obviously) and will be there in 10 minutes. 35 minutes later...we are finally in the grooming salon. The employee did not acknowledge being late at all. But whatever, these are weird times so I let it go. I know everyone is struggling right now in their own way and I'm very cognizant of this. Fast forward - my dogs' nails are cut and I get the two tickets to bring to the front to pay. I get to the register but there is no Pet Smart employee in sight. Finally, one appears from a back room and I ask if a register is open so I can pay for the salon service. He shrugs his shoulders and tells me the store isn't open until 9am. At this point, my patience has worn thin. I had already waited over 30 minutes for service and now you want me to wait to pay? When I need to get back home and get to work. I ended up walking out. Guess I'll have to come back and pay later? What a ridiculous experience. I am the most patient and compassionate person out there and I am well aware of the times we are currently in - so I make a point to be even extra patient. However, one thing I will never tolerate is poor customer service and today I received that from 3 different employees. read more

Always disappointing when you schedule an appointment with Banfield, receive email confirmation of the time, show up on time and be told your appointment is not at that time and the doctor cannot see your pet at the time confirmed by the email. I was told to come back later. I was told the confirmation email was incorrect and that it was corporates fault. Absolutely no customer service and no apologies. I've taken my dog here for a year and a half. They have never been great but ok enough to continue going because of the convenience, until now. The last time I went they cut my dogs nose with the clippers that she bled so bad it sprayed on the wall. Then they tried to claim it was stress which cause her nosebleed although I could definitely see the laceration. Not to mention even though I paid for her nails to be cut they just completely disregarded this and did not touch one. Horrible service and as previous reviews have said even if they aren't busy but your appointment will push them one minute over closing time they will turn you away. We are repeat customers of PetSmart. I've never had a poor experience in my many times of purchasing dog items, completing the pet training courses, or anything else. All associates have always been extremely kind and welcoming. I especially love how they give attention to our dog--who is the equivalent to a human being in our world. Thanks to their incredible trainer, Edie, our dog is so well behaved, and we're educated on being good dog owners. We didn't really know what we were getting ourselves into when we rescued him nearly three years ago; he was a very stubborn puppy with a lot of anxiety. We enrolled him in the puppy class, and through Edie, we all learned so much. Now a certified Canine Good Citizen dog, we are thinking about enrolling our pup in a pet therapy certification class at PetSmart with the true Dog Whisperer. We take the lessons that Edie has taught us and apply it to our everyday lives. Edie is a miracle worker, and we are so thankful to have crossed paths with her.
