Don't let the name fool you. My cat loves A Barking Boutique! He's a large senior cat with VERY long hair. He also gets stressed easily, and requires medication for vet visits. In short, he's a tough customer. The groomers at A Barking Boutique could not have been better. They kept him calm, and somehow made the experience pleasant. He was actually purring when I picked him up, and seems to think he just had a spa day. His coat is beautifully trimmed and thinned for summer, and he's never looked so handsome. We love A Barking Boutique! Our last groomer closed without any warning. We called several pet salons trying to find a new groomer. So many wouldn't return a call or were booked months out. A Barking Boutique answers the phone and is great about fitting us in. We've used them now several times and can't say enough good things. Would definitely recommend. I explained expecting the same groomer each visit and expressed that salons locally don't seem to do that My mother didn't complain of their haircuts but of your attitude and condensing talk and her dogs aggressive behavior after leaving. My pom has come out looking like a show dog! I love this place. The one aspect that I really appreciated was the sense that they take pride in their work. Everyone was very friendly, and took very good care of my dog. Afterwards, I couldn't help but contribute more to their business by buying their cookies (which trixie is thoroughly enjoying at the moment) This is a town secret, given the small shop, but they are hands down one of the best groomers I've ever seen and had the pleasure of dealing with. read more

Several months ago we were double booked, a fault on their end. They rescheduled us. We showed up and they told us we were never on the books and sent us home. We show up after MONTHS of the run around on actually getting an appointment. We go to pick up and they are telling us the total is an astronomical amount because we were charged with a cancellation fee for THEIR mistake. Officially looking for a new groomer. This makes me sad because they are good at what they do and were so sweet to our girl but their customer service and booking errors are now costing me money, that's where I walk away. read more

I too, like my daughter McKenzie who also posted a comment was extremely pleased with the service initially received when I first brought all three of my dogs into be groomed. Recently I returned with two of the three to be pampered, bathed, and groomed. This in my opinion is a luxury, a treat for the dogs or atleast it was suppose to be. I've cut their hair at home myself in the past both with scissors and electric clippers in addition to blow drying them and not once have I had an issue with them being misbehaved. In fact, I'm amazed how great they have been being it takes me far longer to groom them then a trained professional. Needless to say I was highly disappointed this visit being told they were so bad and when I returned home one of my dogs actually growled and bit me almost breaking the skin on my hand. In the four years I've had him this had never occurred before. It took me by complete surprise. With some love, time and re-assurance I was able to calm him and haven't had any more issues. I really didn't know what to think, but after my daughter took her dog in for grooming and he returned home to do the same is an indication that something is not right at the groomers. The dog's shouldn't be coming home growling and biting. Just because one doesn't have their dogs professionally groomed monthly, every two months, 4 or 6 does not make them unfit as pet owners. I have 5 pets total, and each one of them are up to date with their shots, are on preventative flea and heart worm medicine and I am an approved foster mom to dogs under a rescue group I am affiliated with. DON'T TRUST THEM WITH YOUR PET!!!!! Bloody abrasion on my dog after grooming!!! Everything seemed fine when I left with my small Shih Tzu/poodle mix. Didn't see the bloody mess until I got home and she was sitting across from me at eye level. Groomer claimed my dog had a "hotspot" when she came in (I assure you she DID NOT)and ASSUMED I knew about it. Explanation was that the spot may have started to bleed when she was bathed and/or groomed. I asked why I wasn't told when I left with her, they didn't think it was a big deal and manager couldn't understand why I was so upset. I told them it could have gotten infected and become a problem, and AT THE VERY LEAST IT WAS THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE ME AWARE OF THE SITUATION. When I trust my dog with a groomer I expect them to be careful. Their website claims "we only employ persons that have the same morals and love for animals we do. This way we can ensure care and protection for your babies when they visit our boutique." Clearly, as the pictures show, they did not care for OR protect my baby. I asked for a refund, they refused. I gave them a number of opportunities to do the right thing, but they never even apologized! Still waiting for my refund, considering further action. UNACCEPTABLE AND UNETHICAL!!! read more
