We've been going to Pet Smart in Carmel/Westfield for a few years and really appreciate how these people and this organization takes care of my puppies. Just got a puppy schnauzer and she can be quite difficult when trying to groom her at home. She doesn't like to be brushed, let alone trimmed. MaJaun is awesome. He has the patience to deal with her puppy energy and gave her a beautiful haircut which I didn't think was possible with her high energy. I would give him 6 stars if it was an option. read more

The groomers had a very hard time with my anxious, hyperactive dog. He was visibly nervous and agitated. When I finally got him home, I found out why. His torso and face were CUT AND BLEEDING from the shears. After I complained on this site and others, the manager has blocked him in the system from ever returning to that or ANY Petsmart, including the one in Noblesville, which we have gone to every other time without incident. But now they won't take him. I have posted a review of this experience before on this site and others, yet mysteriously, it's been pulled down. I'm about ready to sue. read more

we usually come here for our dogs grooming but after our last visit, we won't be returning. we have a poodle whose hair grows quite fast and we typically do get her hair cut every 3-4 months but we were a little late this time. we go for our appointment, and the receptionist immediately scolds my mother for the length of our dogs hair and also lectures her on the mattes behind her ears. (which we understood) the receptionist said next time, she would turn our dog away and call the vet to take her instead. completely rude and proceeded to tell my mom the extra charges in hopes we would just take our dog back and say never mind. 3.5 hours later, our dog is totally unrecognizable and she has nicks on her ears from how close they shaved her and they barely clipped her four front nails. our dog was playing with our other dog today and they cut her back nail at an angle and her nail split in half to the point of excessive bleeding and pain. i believe i scheduled our appointment with Allie M. but i don't recommend ever coming here. salon staff is super unfriendly and will only accept dogs with easy hair to cut. read more

Not a great experience. Rude staff in grooming. I paid for nothing. Honestly if they couldn't trim our dogs nails or cut his hair then what did we pay for??? Why was i charged. Pretty bad. read more

The grooming department could use some training on customer service! No eye contact and rude! Further, I've given them my dogs' shot records for this year twice and they still claim they do not have them. Done! I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I have been shopping at this particular location for a couple of years and have no complaints. Pet Smart has their own line of cat and dog food called Simply Nourish. We buy that for our cat and she loves it. The place is clean and employees are always friendly. I don't interact with the staff too much as I get in and get out as fast as possible. If I stay in Pet Smart for too long I will end up adopting all of their cats! read more

If I could give this place a -10 star rating I would. I worked for petsmart for close to 7 years. Would come in on my days off go in early and stay late. I would cancel plans with family and friends just to help them out. And then one day they made up a story that I had told a customer 3 months before and told me that I was fired! It came out of the blue too! I could tell horror stories about the grooming salon. But I won't be that person. I even have the paper work saying that they had no reason to let me go. read more

I went in just to pick up cat food last week. I have been typically doing curbside pickups because I don't trust people to wear face coverings. Since I was just running in for a bag of food I figured it would be pretty safe. Unfortunately not a single staff member was wearing a face covering. Despite the stickers on the floor indicating that people should be at least 6 feet apart, store workers walked very close to me a few times (unnecessary). At checkout there is a plexiglass barrier but again, checkout person with no mask. When you use a credit card it makes you touch the screen a few times to make selections. Most business have gone to you bless checkouts. Please consider that. I'm pretty sure I will try a different pet store next time. No regard for the health of workers or customers. The only positive was that almost all customers were wearing face coverings. So, we were protecting the employees; they just weren't protecting us. read more

We used to get our cat's prescription food (yeah....prescription) here but found we can get it from the vet cheaper. I love looking at the animals & am thinking about getting a bird or two...If I can convince my husband : -) read more

I took my cavalier in last week to have his nails cut, paw hair shaved and a few mats shaved off. I was purchasing dog food when they called me back to the grooming area after a very short time. I walked in to find them holding my cavalier with fresh blood dripping from his paw. They immediately blamed me for bringing him in with a scab on his paw and said they had just hit the scab and that's why it was bleeding. I assured them he had nothing on his paw before we got there and I looked at it, there was a fresh cut with fresh blood. They continued to blame me before one of the other girls took him and said they were taking him to Banfield pet hospital (within the building) to have it looked at. They took him back and the girl went back with him, they wouldn't let me go back. Another girl from grooming came up and then the manager Cody. I told them I was very upset that their girl did this to him yet they were lying and blaming me, I didn't appreciate how they were not taking responsibility for what they did and blaming me. Then the vet came out and said this is a fresh cut, there was nothing there before we brought him in and the girl had used a dremel tool (I asked for cut not dremel) the girl bore the tool into his skin causing a cut and large abrasion. It is now 6 days later and 3 vet visits and his leg is still bandaged, not quite healed. On the 2nd appointment I saw the manager Cody standing there and asked him why she used a dremel tool. He didn't even remember us at first and after asking several questions he admitted the girl was very inexperienced. They said my dog didn't behave. I said if she couldn't handle my dog she should've turned me away or asked a more experienced person to do the work. The two paws she shaved are terribly uneven, she only did the nails on two paws and never got to shaving him because she cut him. Thank goodness she didn't finish him !!! Pets mart payed for the bills as they should but acted like they were doing me a favor by paying them. I should never have had to be at the vet! The manager Cody was very indifferent and never called and followed up, although banfield did. The girls still works there so beware. I had previous good experience here that's why I brought him back but do yourself a favor question them their experience level and reconsider going here. As I walked my dog back to banfield each time and we are right there by grooming he starts crying and getting nervous. He was never like that in there before. Take your dog elsewhere. read more

These people ruined my dog. We took him in for a hair cut and they shaved him right down to his skin. They didn't even attempt to shave his paws, his hair is left chunky with different lengths spots, his ears look terrible and look hacked up. We have shown pictures to friends and they say it is the ugliest haircut they have ever seen and they will not get their animals groomed there. I did not even recognize him when my husband brought him home. I should post pictures to show just how ugly they made him look. I am appalled at his care. When my husband told them he was very sad for how our dog looked they said "well we are sorry but he wouldn't hold still." read more

I've really had it with this particular location. It seeks like every time I go in it's just another problematic situation and I end up leaving angry. I wish I had nice things to say but I really don't. The staff isn't helpful at all. I think they make a point to avoid helping but they sure don't mind just staring at you the entire time you wander the aisles. While I used to have a good experience in the grooming department it's become an absolute nightmare and I'm going to honestly attempt to groom myself from now on. I don't like this location and I plan to visit other places when I need things. read more

My friend and I wasted our time to drive 17 minutes to this place. Walked in and didn't see any employees so we walked back and found two employees having a conversation in the back rather than being helpful. I was asking a very nice girl employee whether or not they had a goldfish and a rude employee named Clay or Chad or something interrupted telling me and my friend with a very passive aggressive rude tone that he didn't have to take any rescue goldfish in and he only did it out of the kindness of his heart (stuff that didn't have anything to do with my question in the first place??) and that any goldfish they'd have would be up front. He acted like I had personally offended him for some reason. All I asked was if they had a goldfish, I have no idea why I was treated like I was scum of the earth for asking if they had a goldfish. I didn't say anything rude to him. Needless to say I'll take my business elsewhere and won't be returning anytime soon. Your employees shouldn't treat customers like crap and expect business. If you need any fish I'd recommend the noblesville petsmart or the reef in Indianapolis. read more

I took our dog there last week for grooming and thought for $70 he would come home looking fresh and clean. He instead came home with bald spots and razor burn. Save your money, and your pet from this place. read more

Zero customer service- Tonight my 16 week old puppy and I visited Pet Smart to purchase a new bed. There were several employees walking around but only one cashier. The line to check out was 5-6 people long. We were second in line and waited at least 5 minutes, as the woman in front of us remembered something else she needed and had to run back to the dog tag aisle. While waiting patiently for the woman to return, my puppy had diarrhea right there in the entrance of the store! Clearly the dog was stressed and at that point so was I...I have the puppy in one hand, bed in the other, 5-6 people behind me in line, and I'm struggling to keep the dog out of the diarrhea. I asked the cashier if she could get someone to please help me. She said, "No. There is a clean up station at the end of aisle 2." I stood there in disbelief....I absolutely want to clean up the mess but with the dog in hand it's virtually impossible. The man behind me graciously said he would hold the puppy while I clean up the mess. Looking back, I should've offered to purchase his dog food. Needless to say, I will not be back to Pet Smart- zero customer service! read more
