I've been taking my dogs to this groomer for a while. I've always been charged 85-120 depending on how bad they are. I expect to pay for if they're matted more one time or another. This last time I was charged 50 dollars in random fees that the groomer stated were normal. For the past 5 years I've been using pet smart I had never had a random 10 dollar charge for "groomer fee" where she stated she had another groomer help her w my dog? I also was charged 20 dollars for 30 mins of de-matted time. Along with an additional 10 dollars for 15 more minutes? This has never been added to my bill before. They usually charge a flat fee of 20 dollars for de-matting. I feel like I was not fairly billed on my 10th visit here. I'd much rather use a local groomer for 150 dollars, where they're professionally trained. My poor dog's haircut was terrible. lol a lot of missed places just to get her shaved. With that said I will say that I have had Paxton (who did not do this hair cut) work on my other dog and the haircut turned out great! If you do go here ask for her! read more

I bought a puppy (slightly on a whim) and took him Pet smart to get all set up. Everyone there was so helpful! They showed me a puppy booklet ($20) that was full of coupons and freebies. One nice worker walk around with me to show me what was important and what could wait for later. I ended up showing up late for my puppies appointment with the vet (got the times mixed up) and they were so nice to me and got us in anyways. I am so disappointed in their grooming department now. I have previously taken my dog here, many times, and had Niko as my groomer. I will now stop taking my dog. I've had this grooming appt for a few weeks; I was NEVER informed of paperwork needing to be updated until right before the appointment (my partner took him because I am at work; at work I do not have service so wasn't aware until about an hour later). Niko told my partner the latest he could take my dog was 10:15 because he would start another appt at 11... why does my dog need 3-4 hours for an appt then? Failed communication on the groomers part. If someone has an appointment and they are turned away because of information that was not relayed prior to (days before) the appt, then other appointments should be pushed to later and the groomer should have kept my dog's appointment. read more

After an hour of patiently waiting while my dog is terrified in a kennel, a man returns from his break just to tell me that it's going to be about four more hours. My dog has been visiting this location since she was 10 weeks old. She is now almost 3 years old and we had a groomer that we really liked there. We were recently in the process of moving into a new house and a day before leaving the state on vacation. We had made our appointment weeks in advance to have her fully groomed. She has an undercoat and because of the season it's coming out all over our house and it causes her discomfort. My husband took time to drive the 30 Minutes to the store from our new home only to show up and find out that our groomer had quit earlier in the day. She quit around 7am and our appointment time was at noon. So in 5 hours no member of management called to let us know. The ladies in the salon were accommodating and got her bathed and brushed. They left a mat on her tail, but they were under quite a bit of pressure because of their work load. We also were told that the Store Managers direction was that is was the groomer who quits responsibility to call her appointments not theirs. It doesn't sound like they have a very customer service minded individual running their store. What a shame because this store lost our business and hopefully reading this review will give insight to someone else on how they feel about their shoppers. My husband called their corporate office over two weeks ago to complain about the current operation of this store. Not one person has responded to the complaint when we were told that they would respond within 48 hours. read more

Don't take your dog to the Groomers department, manager and staff have horrible customer service.

Going in looking for an item you carry, I was greeted rudly, the lady finally "pointed" to where the item would be located. She said it's over there! I went to said place to find the shelf empty, so I went to ask if they had any back stock and was told no. And they had no solution or concerns about any of it. All while the three chasiers talk and reminisce to each other helping not one soul in there. Lazy, in polite and no idea on what's going on. Highly recommend driving down to college way! read more

Horrible, horrible staffing. On a Saturday night they had two people working, when I asked to hold a guinea pig I planned on purchasing, the woman who wasn't at the register said she was allergic. Why are you working at a pet store then? The manager Kyle is very rude. They don't communicate very well between each other about what they tell customers as I was told I could return something over the phone and then Kyle threw a hissy fit about it and told me that it wasn't true someone had told me I could return it. Even though I mentioned who had told me that. I returned reluctantly today because it is very well stocked (the reason for the two stars) and received a glare from Kyle again. one , I have a Newfoundland one year old male. He plays hard, is in water most the time, and does get serious matts . two, I have been going to this salon for years with other dogs . 3. I was greeted by a manager by named Niko , with somewhat of a nudge in having a bad personality , a bad attitude . I said take off 3/4 inches only , and cut out the mats . He said he did not know from the get go if they could do this . NOTE: petsmart groomers have been doing all my dogs for years , I had a Newfoundland named Moose , he would go in and be cut perfectly . No problems , including cutting out the matts . Remember I told him 3/4 cut. went to pick him up, looked to short at that time, but did not comment too much because we had to go , they had to go . When we got home the dog was acting different . I looked him over and there were gashes on the side of him. his hair way too short, and thank dogs they left tail and ears intact . it was the worse cut I have ever witnessed I called today and Niko gave me an attitude again , and told me not to ever bring him back. I asked to speak to his administrator . John . John explained that they are to shave all matts down to the skin. Seriously ? My last Newfoundland would get hideous matts , and NEVER did they do what they did to my dog . The dog is still not acting right . I would say they might had man handled him because he is a puppy . wild at times . Has separation anxiety tantrums . STILL something is wrong. he does not look like my dog , and I am sure he is far more distraught than myself. NOTE: I never yelled at these people . NOTE: I was told he was not welcomed back . I talked with John, and they will be giving me a full refund today. NOTE: That does not take care of the anxiety my dog is going through I have called ten of my friends who this particular Pet Smart IS , and they are telling their friends and so forth. I am not playing with people who have such attitudes . first the manager would be fired , second the groomer, and third the administrator . I am livid . I will now find a groomer who knows how to groom hard to handle young dogs , and if ever my Newfoundland's hair grows back , I will try them. I do NOT suggest going here , not at all . I would take my dog through a car wash before I allow them to touch my dog ever again. SO animal lovers beware . I took my labradoodle who had the prettiest hair but a few mats in her fur. When I took her in I told them only to get rid of the mats and NOT to shave. I told the groomer 3 times not to shave her and it she still did, to the extent that my dogs ass was red because they shaved her so much. I recommend that nobody ever goes to this place unless you want to have your dog look like absolute crap. Hopefully others won't make the same mistake I did when I took my dog there and now she can't even sit down because her ass hurts so much. We have asked many other people what they have thought of pet smarts grooming section and they said that they have had nothing but horrible looking haircuts for the dog coming out of there. Kids & dog are sad! I am not a picky person about dog hair cuts, but when I ask that a dog not be shaved (not once, but twice) I expect that my wishes will be respected. This pup had some mats that needed to be shaved out and I recognized that - saying shave the mats not her beautiful face - and she is SHAVED. She is shaved so bad on her behind that it is totally irritated. I shouldn't have paid for this cut, but I think that I was so shocked when I didn't even recognize my pup that I was just that - in shock. I've needed to buy balm for her bottom. Poor thing. Will not go back for sure and have already told and shown many friends - they will not go either! Very disappointed and more so feel like the dog is really upset and embarrassed. I took my two dogs to Petsmart for a complete grooming. The Pom looked like he had a fight with a weedeater and something on his belly bothered him, kept trying to scratch there. The Boston mix had a hack job, hair on one side of his face was longer than the other, had a mohawk (didn't want one) a razor burn on his chest and blood under the sclera of his right eye. Someone poked him with something or he fell while tethered and broke a vessel. Either way I should have been advised. Tried to voice my complaint to the store and was told I had to wait until Friday!! If I could I would have rated them in the minus! read more

I took my dog in for a bath, Furminator treatment, and pad trim. After getting him home I realized that his pads weren't trimmed. I also managed to brush off enough hair (right after getting home) to fill a gallon sized freezer bag. The staff was also incredibly condescending as I picked him up. My guy is a bit feisty when it comes to grooming, so I fully expected him to need a muzzle throughout. The girl at the front desk told me that I should have warned them that he "doesn't know how to behave". This was my first and LAST trip to their grooming center. read more

I decided to take advantage of my puppy starter kit coupon for a bath, for both my dogs...I called mid week to make an appointment...The girl asked me the breed, weight, if the dog was spayed took my name number etc...then booked a Saturday at 12:30 pm appointment...this is the number I called 360-757-1616 ...I get there to check in and they say they have no appointment for me...I said yes I called early in the week for Saturday afternoon, then they proceed to tell me maybe I made the appointment with Petco...ummm I think I know who I called I never go to Petco nor did I know we had one in Skagit county, being that I'm new to the area....so may I suggest that you talk with your employees about putting an appointment in the computer next time and not blaming the customer who indeed called the right number and store...and FYI I should have known she wasn't the brightest when after she was told the breed was pit bulls she added would I like a groom as well, ummm not sure what your going to cut on a pit bull...SMH.. read more

we took my neighbors 3 dogs here because someone we were refered to told of another shop but upon going there it smelled really bad of dog urine and the owners were not freindly at all , this was a great place the dogs were happy and given treats as well as hankercheifs and made to look pretty n presentable i was very pleased with the service and timing it took to groom them read more

I'm giving this Petsmart a 5 star rating. It's ALWAYS immaculately clean. I've never once Not been greeted when walking through the front door. And the employees all go out of their way to help me find what I need. Isaac caught my fish and was so knowledgable about all of them. He was teaching a new manager Carly, how to catch them and they made a very cute team. They were cracking jokes and encouraging one another all while incorporating me into the fun conversation. I thought Isaac was doing a great job of training Carly while also involving me as a customer. It was a great experience and I think the two of them will be a very wonderful team, working hard in that store. Burlington PetSmart has never failed me. Thanks again! read more
