We have been getting our dog groomed here for a few years now. We have a Golden / Great Pyrennes mix. We have never had any issues until now. We took her to get groomed in late March. They cleaned her teeth, bathed her and trimmed some of her hair around her butt and paws. Normally they cut her hair down as requested. It was very uneven around her butt and really didn't look like it had been trimmed much at all. My boyfriend picked her up and paid over $100 for the service. He was disappointed but didn't complain. I called a couple days later and was passed around to several different people. They then rebooked us for a complentary cut two weeks later. It was in the middle of the day so my boyfriend had to leave work to come home to get the dog and bring her to Petsmart only to now find out they supposedly don't cut these kinds of dogs hair anymore. We had been going for the last few years so I can't understand why this policy would change now and why they wouldn't communicate this when I called originally or even when we booked the appointment. Poor customer service, waste of money and our time. And thank you for also making us miss time off from work too. I understand this is a sensative time for businesses, but it is also a sensative time for pet owners. It's nearly impossible to get an appointment anywhere and when you do we feel like we were robbed. Extremely disappointed! read more

My Nellie and I have been coming to Banfield for about three years. We have had a few vets but for the past year we have dealt with Dr. Rose. She has been excellent with my 14 year old greyhound. My Nellie has a few idiosyncrasies, the staff and Dr. Rose handles them with concern and (dare I say) love. Nellie can not use the "drop-off" policy that Banfield has, it is too traumatic for her. We tried it once and due to the separation stress. Before I had driven two miles down the road Nellie's temperature rose to 105 degrees. They called me right away and I returned to hold her paw. Since this happened when booking any appointment the front desk staff knows not to try and book her for any drop-off visits. I realize that they know this due to notes in her chart, its just nice to know they read and pay attention to them. They may not be the most inexpensive vet - but I have found them to be honest and trust worthy. Being lucky enough to have a pet as wonderful and truly amazing as Nellie, that when they reach such an advanced age, every visit to the vet can be very stressful. It is truly stressful for us both. I fear those fateful words "that her time has come" and Nellie just plain dislikes the vets. Sorry for the verbosity of this review. I should have written one sooner. HOLY CRAP!!! Your betta fish are in the poorest condition I've ever seen. I go to pet stores frequently for my pets at home and this Bellingham store has by far the worst conditions for their fish I've ever seen. Half the fish were dead or hanging on for life. Vets office also available. Although we don't utilize their vet office or the grooming. We did utilize their training. STAY AWAY! Our dog was injured there by the groomer Brought our dog to be groomed here and had to pick up the dog because the groomer was "afraid" of the "aggressive dog", all 15 pounds of it! This dog is 3 years old and has never had an issue with any groomer, she is a mush with everyone, always. In this instance when I returned to pick her up she was holding her front paw off the ground and was sensitive to touch on it from her paw to her shoulder. When I asked the groomer what happened, she said nothing happened and did not know how she was injured... The dog went there not limping when she arrived, and left with an injured leg. The groomer stated she could not get the dog out of the kennel after she had put her there as the dog was supposedly tying to bite her (dog has never been aggressive to anyone previously) and asked us to come pick her up. The injury is something that would be associated with someone grabbing a front leg and yanking or pulling excessively on it. I notified the manager and also called the police to report the abuse. Banfield Vet in the same building refused to look at her as the groomer went into the vets office while I was waiting for the vet to come out. My opinion is that the groomer is inexperienced with animals and should not be working there as it's evident that she abused our dog and injured her. If you truly care about your pet I'd suggest that you think twice about bringing it there for any type of grooming! BTW just brought her to another groomer and no issues at all. In fact, they said she was such a good dog and they enjoyed having her there. read more

Bad customer service. Today I got in this super long line with ONE item. There was another register opened but he didn't have his light on so I figured he was leaving. When he got to the end, he just stood there. He doesn't say, next in line, can I help you. But some fool with about 100 items goes up to him and he just starts waiting on them and then, turns on his light. Idiot. So he calls for back up and the girl comes up and goes next... and as I start to walk over, I was next, she takes someone not even in line, not me who was on the wrong side of the counter. Amazing. It is basics people. So there are three lines and the *next* person can't even get waited on. Had to come here to Banfield for an emergent issue with my cat- they didn't know I'm in vet med and it showed...At the end of a day of attempting to get a urine sample (cats are hard, I can respect that), Dr. Rose called me and told me the cat had "gone Cujo" and told me to get another litter box to solve my problem (suspected UTI). Remarkably, before the cat apparently went ballistic, Dr. Rose was able to perform, and charge me for, an entire multi-system exam (including an oral exam) and give him two vaccines. No solution for his probable UTI...i.e., the main reason I took the day off to figure out. Total waste of money. My cat is still in pain, the staff is still rude, I'm out a couple hundred bucks. My advice: stay away. Also- Cujo was a dog. Pet Sematary would have been far more appropriate. read more

Very disappointing. I was shopping at the new Hudson store to get dog food, treats, and a clearance toy. I found nothing in clearance, and since my phone died. I thought, why not charge it and stop at the Bellingham location on the way home, so I can use my $3 off coupon and get a clearance toy for the dog. So I came here. First off, I live closer to the Westwood & Walpole PetSmart stores, so I frequent them more often. This store is SO much older and dirtier than Hudson, and my nearby stores. The store was designed in a less effective way, that made me annoyed. They DID have a GREAT clearance section, which I found a great dog toy for only $2.97, which is why they get 2 stars. Otherwise, really disappointed. Got to the checkout register and noticed the Greenie treats I bought for the dog were ringing in at $.99, when the sign read $.69. I showed the cashier, who was friendly by the way, and she called up Joe, the manager, who was INCREDIBLY RUDE! I told him, that by state law (yes this includes pet stores), when a grocery item (which includes anything edible, household cleaner, paper products, or pet food or supply) rings in higher than the advertised price, the customer gets one for free (want more info: tinyurl.com/202cmr707). He told me that is a store policy not a state law. Incorrect. First, he flat out told me I was wrong, when I am really right. That is not good customer service. A good manager would have honored this incident, like they do in the Walpole Petsmart (yes, I have gotten something free at the Walpole location). After my visit, I called, and spoke with Lynn, another manager. She was very sorry and offered me a free one during my next visit. +1 star. Good customer service on Lynn's end, bad customer service on Joe's end. After this transaction, I will be ONLY shopping in the Bellingham Petsmart when Lynn is there, otherwise go to Walpole! Set up 4 appointments. First 3 were canceled and when I arrived at the 4th they would not take my dog in. The groomer didnt want to work and take my dog that I paid and extra 50$ dollars to do express checkout with. I called the next day to try and reschedule one more time and was told not to come back. This is my second time bringing my dog here to be groomed. She's a puppy so I was getting her the puppy trim which what I was told is trimming the paws, butt, face and getting a bath and nails trimmed. First time they couldn't trim her face because she was moving too much and nipping (like puppies do). I was disappointed because her hair is so long and gets right in her eyes but understood and decided to make another appointment a few months later. She is a very furry puppy and really needs a full haircut. So the second time the groomer and I talked and agreed to do the puppy trim again but if my puppy was doing well they would go ahead and cut half of her furs length off. I got a call shortly after dropping her off that her fur was matted on her back legs and they need to cut her back legs and butt shorter. I agreed to that. This is what I get back when I picked her up! The groomers were very nice and I almost didn't post a review because I understand that puppies move around a lot and they don't want to hurt her but she looks ridiculous! read more

I don't usually post complaints, but I want to warn anyone who shops at the Bellingham @Petsmart about possible sick animals for sale. I bought a plecostomus (algae eater) for one of our fishtanks that came with a sickness that killed every fish in our tank (all at once- it was awful). This tank was well established and the fish had been happy and healthy for about a year. I complained to the store manager and his customer service was awful. No apology, no credits or refunds for the fish that were infected (only the plecostomus which I had bought a week prior), and with lack of emotion he said "so do you want to buy more fish?" Some of you might be saying "it's just fish"- but I would question any animal that you buy from that store. If one fish can kill an entire tank, they must be slacking on care of more then just fish! read more

Really horrendous customer service. I had an appt and took my dog in for grooming. First they said they were too busy and for me to come back. So I waited 5ins and came back. Then even though I had been there before they told me I had to wait behind a long line of people. When they finally got to me they ask me a few question and then proceed to tell me that they can't take me then because he has to be an "express grooming" and I have to rebook. They could have asked the questions at the time of booking. But instead I had to bring my dog down and wait an hour to then be told to rebook because of their incompetence. I'll be rebooking- at a groomer who doesn't have horrible service. In the hour that I was waiting for them to tell me I had to rebook, I witness many pets be picked up. each one of them had an issue and the owner wasn't happy. Also, there were multiple people who were there for free services because their previous interaction had been so poor that the store tried to appease them with a free service. read more

The groomers and salespeople are generally nice and it's fun running into other dog owners. I brought my dog here to be groomed for the first time since I rescued him, and had an excellent experience. My dog can be somewhat difficult with strangers so I was worried they might turn him away, but Aubrie took her time with him and said he was a perfect gentleman! This was a huge relief for me. The price was also good. My mom pays $60 to have her bichon groomed at another facility but it was only $47 for my dachshund mix who was in dire need of a cut. They also took him at 5 PM which was great for me because I needed to bring him after work. Definitely going back. read more

Just had a GREAT experience at the Bellingham, MA store and groomer. Elyse and an apprentice groomer were super to my senior dog who was trembling and is always terrified of situations with other dogs around. Had the PAWdicure Plus package. They were extra careful on his back legs given my dog's hip and knee problems. I'm not good at brushing his teeth and they did a great job. Minded my request of no cologne. His nails looked great and Elyse gave me some suggestions regarding his pads. Now for the retail. Plenty of staff asking if I need help. A line had developed at checkout all at once and a 2nd register opened immediately. My Cashier (name not on my receipt) was very friendly and explained the new reward program (FINALLY one that rewards with dollar credit and not useless coupons). Then, my bad: I forgot my credit card was closed that AM due to fraud activity. Didn't have enough cash on me for the items or the grooming. "KW", the manager, couldn't have been more helpful. I got nervous when I saw recent poor reviews, but this experience was like all my previous, over the past ~17 yrs--excellent! read more

I went into this Petsmart yesterday to get a clicker. Because we just got a new puppy. Yeah!!! Of course I'm a browser. They have a lot of cutesey things my GF would just love for the puppy. They have a great selection a lot of stuff I haven't seen in other stores. Why not five star because We went to a Petco right after getting the puppy and on most things at Petco were cheaper by a bit( at least on the things I was looking at) . So Petsmart is more expensive but they a wider ranging selection. After I went up and paid, another customer had bought quite a large fish tank. I saw a big guy ( I think he was a manager) insist on taking out to the car for her. He seemed very genuine in wanting to help the customer. You don't see that very often in big chain stores. I brought my son in to purchase a hamster, and the gentleman that assisted us, Shane, was extremely helpful. Shane patiently answered all of my questions and walked us over to every product. I have been going to this particular location for grooming for many years. The last two times have been awful! The groomer who worked on my dog both times claimed he was out of control and tried to bite her. My dog has NEVER EVER bitten anyone. Has never even tried to nip when a small child tries pulling his tail. So to be told that he's out of control and tried to bite both times made me realize that this groomer is incompetent and may have even done something to my dog. I switched to a local grooming salon and was told that my dog behaved great and they had no issues whatsoever! I take my 3 dogs here for grooming. EXCELLENT! Kaylee grooms them, and they love her. 2 go for baths and one receives a cut. I have one dogs that is VERY shy and hates going places. I usually have to walk her in, or she'll try to bolt. She loves this place. My Pom's lion cut looks GREAT! I've taken them to a couple of other places before coming here, and I just wasn't satisfied. I'm glad that I moved on and now take them to see Kaylee every 4 weeks. read more

This review is for Aubrie in grooming. She is wonderful with the dogs! Our dog Lacey has always had a problem with shaking since we brought her home as a 9 week old puppy. Lacey is a nervous dog but shakes even when she's not. Most groomers call us and say they either can't provide the service or complain she was extremely nervous and shook the whole time. Since we started going to Aubrie, Lacey has always had a wonderful haircut and she is very understanding and sweet with her. Now that we have a second dog, I wouldn't take them anywhere else. read more

Love the Petco store it's self. Employees are very helpful. The Hopitial is wonderful.. It's very clean employees are very knowledgeable. However the grooming salon is in need of some improvement. They need to take another course in people skills.The employee that I spoke with on Ocotber 22,2015. In the am called my home to tell me I was late for my appointment. It was not schuleded till 8:30 am. She told me it was at 8am. She's not accommodating at all. Just made the apt last week.The receptionist told me she can fit my two dogs in on the half hour mark.No communication skills at all.. They never do a service on a half hour ?? Kept repeating..Very rude.. She told me she had nothing for two weeks. I would not see that lady again. Why would I reschudle with her..I use to see Aubri shes great !! now she's a groomer !! :( She was the best with our dogs. Very kind person.. It's to bad I don't feel compfortable leaving my dogs with such ignorant people. I Never had an issue before with the other girls just this one today. I Never will go hear again it's not a very inviting place or a good atmosphere for animals with rude employees. So I'm heading somewhere else.
