This is the only other grooming salon in the area that I take my dog to because they are just stellar. I have a smaller 3 year old male husky who fully blows his coat twice a year and sheds regularly throughout. Every month I normally take him to this salon and Kaitlyn is fantastic at getting the most hair out of him as possible (she usually has some fun color in her hair, the last time it was blue or purple). The other groomers are always nice and have been great at getting him all clean and handsome. Today I was originally going to take him to Petco however had a bad experience and walked out with him, while I have always heard great things when I pick him up from PetSmart and he always has good comments on his little report card it was the nicest thing ever to call them last minute and have a lady answer the phone assisting me with squeezing him in today and adding that she wishes she could be the one to groom him because of the nice comments they leave on his profile for each other. I like that I get my money's worth here and my pup is always happy to get groomed here, I like their consistency in pricing and their consistency in grooming technique. I highly recommend this place, although sometimes they can have a bit of 'tude on the phone - I would assume that it has to do with being super busy and stressed out - but they're definitely animal lovers and their sincerity in how they interact with the dogs is undeniable, they have always gotten the job done despite how busy they are. read more

I ranked this PetSmart as just okay. I basically just come in here when I run out of dog food and he's hungrily looking at the cat. It doesn't seem like any of the employees really go out of the way to help and they always seem to not have the products I need. It just doesn't feel as welcoming as other locations and there always seem to be a line for the checkout. read more

Love this Petsmart! The employees are super helpful. If you have a question they don't have the answer to, they will do their best to find out for you. I sometimes come here when babysitting, because it's like going to the zoo, but cheaper! They have everything for your standard pet needs. They also have a clinic, grooming, training classes, and adoptions on site. My fav item here is the Pill Pockets - which are super helpful if your little one ever needs to take a medication. If you've tried giving a cat or dog a pill, you understand. They'd get 5 stars if it wasn't for the jacked up prices on flea prevention products like Frontline. I get it much much cheaper at our veterinary office. read more

I first went to a competitor nearby looking for all of the necessities for a rat setup for two pets. When I found their selection to be disappointing and overpriced (it would be cheaper for me to order the stuff from their website than to buy in store?!), I called Petsmart to ask if they had what I needed and was reassured over the phone that they did, so I made my way over. I found exactly what I needed - and very reasonably priced. Furthermore, the associate helping me - Colin - was very polite, nice, and appropriately chatty. He wasn't over-eager to push product on me, but he was informative, pleasant, and perfectly helpful. He also went through the trouble of reaching out to his manager to get answers to my questions when he didn't have sure answers, which was great because I don't typically see that kind of effort from large-chain pet store employees. I had a really great experience here and will definitely be coming back for pet-related purchases, especially because I noticed that they have better quality food for small animals than the other nearby pet store that I went to, initially. read more

Cruel to animal store I would have given it a zero star but It was not an option. The employees took a once happy Chinchilla and took her off the floor because her cage had a crack, and were to cheap to fix it so they locked her in a cage that the employee proudly admitted that the cage was way to small for her to live in an now she has not seen anybody so she will not sit and socialize with you she will run away and seek cover. When we asked to pet her they said she has been locked up for so long she now bights. read more

My dog goes to Doggie Daycamp every day Mon-Fri. Now, you may think that is insane, but my dog is a total spaz. We are gone 12 hours a day, and letting her run around all day has brough sanity to our house in the evening when we get home, plus has given her much needed exercise and socialization. Also, if you ever need to board your dog, it's a good way to get them used to a place before you leave them overnight. Our dog has boarded there several times and never seems disturbed by it. Anyway, the people at daycamp are absolutely fantastic. They take such good care of our little girl. She has stomach issues, and they even give her lots of snuggles on the days she isn't feeling well. It's so nice to have peace of mind that my dog is well looked after and in a safe environment (and has not pulled all the toilet paper off the roll and then proceeded to eat it, as well as anything else she can fit in her mouth). She loves going there and it seems that the people there like to see her, too. For anyone who is thinking about taking their dog to daycamp, do it, you will love it! read more

Hey it's decent. Us cat people have to have our say too. That said, I think they cater more to dog lovers. Cause really a cat hotel? Oh, please. They have a really neat machine that you can make tags out of. And they do have large scratching posts, but that is it. They have a nice selection of litter boxes, food, collars and toys. I mostly come here to take my beloved kitties to the vet. What's cool is the place offers "Pet Insurance"!! No I am not kidding. It saved us a bundle when one of my beloved kittens, ate something he wasn't suppose to. He landed himself in the animal ER with emergency surgery!! Who would have thought. Anyways, what would have been a 5000 bill came to 3000! Still 3000 more than I wanted to pay, but he is family. (BTW, he had definitely earned his money since then) The Dr's seemed nice, the staff was friendly and was nice enough to transfer our records from the Lincoln Park office to hear. I would give them 5 stars if they didn't favor dogs so much. Just kidding. I love the vet part, but I can't bring myself to shop at the store part. But overall and enjoyable place. And you can bring you well behaved animal with you shopping! read more

PetSmart is one of the better pet places, unless you're looking for specialty items. It's big with plenty of selection. We try to feed our dogs the best quality food we can. PetSmart has the refrigerated food with no preservatives. The dogs seem to like it. Good selection for toys, collars, leashes, and dog beds. read more

Becoming a mom is never to be taken lightly. Especially when it's twins that we're expecting. Twin puppies that is. After finding a breeder and selecting the two little girls we'd be getting, as virgin dog owners, we knew we needed to get down to business and start researching and buying all the supplies we'd need for our new puppies. We started by casually visiting some of the pet stores close to our house and looking at the plethora of supplies available. We'd walk in, take a look around, sigh from being overwhelmed with all of the choices, and walk out empty handed. Eventually we ended up at PetSmart on Route 59 in Naperville, right by the Garden Ridge store. We walked in to find this PetSmart much bigger than any of the other pet stores we had been in. Not only was it bigger, it was also much cleaner and well organized. At that point we decided to take the plunge, grab a cart, and start stocking up on everything we'd need. While we were wandering around, trying to make decisions like "which shampoo would our puppies like best?" or "What nail clippers should we get?," a helpful worker stopped and asked if we had any questions. We told here we were going to be new puppy parents, so she took a look in the cart and gave her approval on several of the items, but took a handful out and showed us better options. Then we started asking her about crates and all kinds of things. She was BEYOND helpful, and friendly, and we definitely appreciated the advice she gave. $300 later, I believe we have all of the supplies we need for our new little pups, except for the pups themselves! A couple more weeks and they'll be old enough to leave their momma and come home. We couldn't be more excited. Looking ahead, shopping at a pet store will probably become a regular occurrence. And even though this particular PetSmart isn't the closest one to our house, because of the good experience we had, we'll probably go back. Ahhh.... what are we getting ourselves into? :) read more

I can only comment on the grooming during this review, as that's all we really have done at this Petsmart. We brought in a grungy looking Lhasa Apso who was shaking quite a bit, but out came only 3 hours later, an awesome smelling and looking dog! He was very happy and the salon worker stated how calm and mellow he was and easy to cut. Phew. I ESPECIALLY liked that we received a little report card of the services that were done and his demeanor noted. That sure is helpful. The price was as expected as we had to pay for de-matting fees, but that was entirely our own fault. A day later and the dog still smells great! read more

Went here to return an item and purchase bully sticks. For a first time dog owner, the selection is overwhelming. Good thing I looked on the website beforehand so I could easily find what I wanted! Because there are NO employees on the sales floor to assist you. This is the same complaint I have with the Naperville store. There was one cashier, which is all they really need, and she was very friendly and pleasant. But if I had needed help on the sales floor, I have no idea where I would have gotten help from. I doubt the cashier can wander far off into the land of bully sticks without being needed at the front of the store. But YAY for bully sticks! This review is not about the store itself, but the animal adoption agency "PURRS" that does their business from within this location, the Naperville location, and a local Petco. If you are looking to adopt a cat I would highly recommend to stay as far away as possible from PURRS. My family and I adopted from them nearly four months ago, and sadly, Mr. Dilbert passed away today from, what we were told, kidney failure. But, lets go back to when we first adopted our lovable cat. We saw him, he was adorable looking at us through his little cage in PetsMart, we were told that he was 1-2 years old w/ a friendly background and no health issues. In the first two weeks we found that he had flea bites, we took him to the vet, got him on some medicine, cleared everything up - and we thought he was good to go. In the first month of having Dilbert one of our family members developed a nasty case of ringworm. We decided to get the cat checked out to see if he was the reason why.. We soon found out, he was. He was fully infected with ringworm and there really isn't much of a cure for this pesky skin disease in cats - other than doing sulfur dips. In hopes of curing our cat, we did a weekly sulfur dip - and finally his skin was cured. After realizing he had ringworm, we soon found out he had a tapeworm problem as well. Labor day weekend the little white guy swam out of his butt - off to the animal ER we go. In the midst of all of this, Dilbert developed a horrible cold - having to be on another type of medication to make sure it would go away and not cause any more issues. Well, the last few days our cat had been having accidents around the house - today he was so weak that we decided it'd be best to take him to the vet. To our surprise this would be our last vet visit, because our beloved cat past on. Now, in the last four months we have spent well over $800 treating the cat - making sure he would healthy and harmless to animals and humans alike. We also found out he was closer to 5 or 6 years old - not 1 or 2 like the people of PURRS claimed. So a quick recap... In four months we found out our cat had: Fleas Ringworm Tapeworm a Cold Kidney Disease and the kicker? Purrs has you sign an agreement stating that any medical is up to you once the cat is adopted. No strings attached. Well why do they have this? Probably because this isn't the first time they let a family adopt a very, very sick kitty. I ADVISE YOU, STAY AWAY. Even though we only had our cat a few months - the death was devastating. I can honestly say I will never use an adoption agency whom teams up with ANY animal store. Stick to what you know, stay away from PURRS. read more

Another bad PetSmart grooming experience! If you can find somewhere else to get your pet groomed I strongly encourage you to do it. DO NOT USE PETSMART GROOMING!!!! Their online booking system is a joke! Set up an appointment on their system and get a text confirmation of the appointment. Over an hour after I booked the appointment I get a phone call from the Naperville Il store cancelling my appointment because they won't have enough time to groom my dog before they close. My dog was scheduled for a bath -- a good groomer should have gotten her done in plenty of time before they closed. Which the online reservation let me book and confirmed the appointment. When speaking with the grooming associate I asked for the District manager's number and she put me on hold to go get it and when it was answered a different person answer the phone to give me Corporates phone number which isn't what I asked for. When I said I didn't want Corporates # I wanted the district managers # she told me she couldn't give it to me, but she could get me corporates # -- which I my self could have gotten off of the internet. I did not want to speak to an 800 # I want to speak to someone who would actually know something about the store. In speaking with the 2nd associate she again said there would not be enough time to groom my dog because it was long haired. I then responded I didn't realize I had a long hair dog. She said that what I was told and I asked by who and she told me the grooming associate told her that. I said that's funny because I wasn't asked it my dog was long haired because in fact my sheepdog is shaved. Then she wanted to transfer me back to talk to them about rescheduling the appointment. I told her absolutely not that I don't want her groomers ever touching one of my dogs. I'm thinking before you every cancelled you might have wanted to discuss the issue before you automatically assume things. read more

This review is purely about the Petshotel. The store and Banfield are very good and should not be reflected by what Im about to say. DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOG AT PETSHOTEL. Yep Im passionate about this. I apologize for the lengthy review but I want you to have the full picture, so please read in full. We have boarded our dogs here on two different occasions. This past week would have been the third. I am only going to reference my one dog as she is the reason behind this review. I have a 1yr old 25lb German Sheppard/Pit Bull mix. She is a shy dog who is very loyal to her family and once she knows you she loves you & attention. The very first time I boarded her here when I mentioned her breed (for reference by looking at her you cannot tell what she is, she just looks like a little puppy) the staff said "Oh" in a low toned voice "well pits cant play with other dogs." I didnt really have any issue with this I just didnt like the way it was said. So my dog stayed at Petshotel twice. Both times afterwards they said "oh she did fine she was just a little scared but got along really well with the night guy." So when I brought her this time im thinking no issues will happen. I go to drop her off and I offer two rawhide bones that I give her EVERY DAY in my house. The manager came out & said "We cant allow rawhides because theres not always someone around to watch the dog." Yep, exact words. Now I know what she meant but still, you sell them in the store but cant give them to the dog? No biggie though. The girl came around & took my dog who naturally didnt want to go at first but then did. So I went and got her approved nylabones & dropped them off before leaving. One day later, Im in another state on vacation, I get a phone call. "You need to come get your dog. She is being aggressive and we cant care for her properly." Again, word for word. So right away I ask whats going on as she has been there before. The girl says she wont let anyone leash her. I then asked, can you feed her, clean her cage, and keep her safe? The girl would not give an answer even though I asked this over and over. All she kept saying was someone had to come get her. I tried to explain how I was out of state for 6 more days! They wouldnt have it. Then they told me, "its okay that she stays the night, we have been letting her into a connected cage so we can clean hers." The next day I called back to see how she was. I was told the same. My dog doesn't bite, period. Never has in her life. She growls if she doesnt know you, but if you go low and introduce yourself as a non-threat, she opens up. This is the nature of the dog and many many dogs. I have explained this to Petshotel all three times she was boarded, I even gave special treats to help the process. The manager comes on the phone at this point and says: "YOU HAVE TO COME GET YOUR DOG." I said what if I cant find someone to get her what happens to my dog. They would not answer this question. I then said "Is she in danger? or is it because you cant put a leash on her? again, no answer. I then said, so what you are saying is you cannot properly handle my dog, again no answer except. "You have to come get your dog." I am shocked at this point and about to get on a plane home to get my dog. Luckily I found my sis in law to get her. My sis goes to pick up the dog and Petshotel says "can you go get her from the cage?" They couldnt even get the dog!!! My sis wasnt leaving her 1 year old in the lobby with strangers, and they wouldnt let her bring her with. So finally the manager goes and gets my dog. As soon as the dog sees my sis she was fine, in the car to Naperville Animal Hospital my dog is in heaven laying on the seat so happy to be out of Petshotel. Then Petshotel has the nerve to charge me for two days!! After what they did to my dog I cannot believe this. Now was is it my dog or Petshotel? Well its Petshotel. How do I know? Sis brought my dog to Naperville Animal Hospital for the remained of our trip. The staff instantly started petting her & showing her love. They had no issues with the separation anxiety either. Most dogs have some form of it. I picked her up today. She looked amazing! By the way, they walked her DAILY, played with her DAILY, let my PIT play with other dogs DAILY, they even gave her a bath and gave her medicine when her poop was loose. The boarder lady was kissing her and hugging her when she was leaving telling me all she needed was a belly rub. I explained what Petshotel did and the boarder couldnt believe it. She said "No way, she is such a sweetheart, she even made a new dog friend while here." Yep, she was allowed to play with other dogs! Oh & did I mention the hospital doesnt charge you to play with your dog like Petshotel does. Cheaper nightly rate too. DONT USE PETSHOTEL where they are scared of puppies! Visited the Grooming salon. My dog had lots of knots in her hair. She is a bichon. I understand that part is my family and my fault. The groomer took the clippers to her, and decided they were so bad she couldn't do the job. Called me informed my I needed to take he to a Vet as they would be able to handle her grooming on her legs and feet, along with her neck. She had taken the clippers straight up her back. There was no way to let this go for another day. I had to find a vet that would do this, which turned out to be in Downers Grove. This was my dog's 1st. Haircut, she will be 1 on Sunday, this happened on Thursday. The Vet ended up shaving more off to fix the damage that was done by the Groomer. MY DOG IS BALD NOW! This is disappointing as We have taken her there for nail trims and her 1st. bath, which went well. She likes the groomers, but after this I will NEVER TAKE HER BACK!!!! read more

My fiance and I bought our dog about a year and a half ago. We were super excited about having our puppy so we bought a ton of things from Petsmart and had him attend doggy day camp often. We never had any issues with this. One day, I got a call that our dog was aggressive during group play. He was a puppy, less than a year old, and still had an issue with wanting to hump other dogs. The people at the Petshotel called me to pick him up. When I picked him up, they suggested dog training. They said he would be banned from group play unless we paid for their training. We paid for the 6 week training class and our dog graduated. He had no issues in class and showed great improvement with other dogs. In fact, the trainer suggested he become a "therapy dog" because he was so well behaved. She told us multiple times how great he would be working in hospitals or nursing homes. This was all about a year ago. Recently, I called to board him and they said everything was fine but he needed to have one shot updated. I got the shot updated and then called again to board him. This time, they stated he was "banned" because of his one bad experience. We were never told he would be banned from the entire Petshotel for his one aggresive experience. We were just told that he would just need a break from group play until he went through training. When I told them we agreed to training and that he should be in the clear, they told me another manager would have to call me back since she was the one who made the note. Days past and I did not receive a call back. One manager played phone tag with me a few times, but everytime I called she was "busy." She finally left me a voicemail and suggested I look around for other places to take our dog. We are so disappointed. We would have never paid for the training if Petsmart hadn't forced us into it. Our dog has matured a year now and is not a puppy anymore, however, they will not allow us to bring him in to be boarded. This has been such an upsetting experience because we really enjoyed Petsmart before. We have boarded our dog about 12 times at Naperville Animal Hospital and never had a single issue. It's unfortunate that Petsmart is losing us as customers because they are not understanding of puppies and not sticking to their promise with the training. We would NOT have paid for their 6 week training if we were not given this promise. read more

They breed discriminate at this store. I inquired about puppy play time and was informed that because my dog is a pit bull mix she would not be allowed to join. She has never harmed a fly and LOVES other dogs. I went to Petco across the street and was met at the door with friendly, smiling staff who immediately offered to give my girl a treat and a head scratch. Then a groomer came out and offered $5 for her first time bath! I will always be a Petco customer for now on- I can't believe a multi million dollar corporation like petsmart is ignorant enough to discriminate against certain breeds of dogs. read more

Sadly, we were disappointed today with this store location. We had a coupon given to us from the rescue org where we adopted our new dog this past month. The coupon offered free dog food and discounts on grooming and other things and they did not honor or accept it. We have relatives who also rescued a dog from the same adoption org this month and the store in Joliet area did honor the same coupon. The staff here in Aurora including the manager seemed not to care about our business. We are new dog owners and are looking for a store and staff who cares. We decided to leave and go to Pet Supplies Plus in Naperville. We were greeted with a warm welcome there and super caring staff. We likely won't be back to PetSmart. read more

I went in and the staff was just chatting and could not see me. They did not offer an apology or offer me a different time, just said the were too busy today. They take 20 minutes to check each pet in, ask the same questions over and over again during check in, have out of date records so you have to repeatedly bring your dog's records in and frankly behave as though it's a serious inconvenience for them to do their jobs. read more

They have no regard for pet health and safety. A small animal cage had a crack in it and rather than fix it they put a huge chinchilla in a tiny cage in a dark store room. The staff admitted it was too small. And later admitted she used to be a happy chinchi but by being kept away from the public is now afraid of people and now bites! Guess I should thank you since now my daughter has made it her life goal to make sure to spread the word on how they "care" for their animals. Had a terrible experience with their pet hotel!!! My 7-month-old puppy was having a diararra after 5 days went to the pet hotel. Then I called them just wanna know what kind of food they feed my dog. All their irresponsible reply was "just all the food you give to us". And they didn't even check on my dogs ever since. I feel this is a pet hotel which cares less about your dog but more your money. This is the email I just sent the the corporate offices. I wanted to write an email to express many concerns I have about the doggy-day-camp at the north Naperville location. My family and I have been long time patrons of the store and the the petshotel, so our last (and final) experience was much of a surprise for us. We dropped our 10 month boxer, Winston, off for day camp on Saturday, September 20th. This was the 4th time we had brought Winston to the camp, and had been very pleased previously with the care provided. This time, however, was a nightmare. Winston is a puppy, and a boxer. As we all know, they can be a bit rambunctious at times, but never is it in an aggressive way. Winston is a very friendly and well socialized puppy; he doesn't have a aggressive bone in his body. He loves to wrestle and "box" much like all the other dogs of his breed. We dropped Winston off at approximately 8:15 am, and received the first call from Amy, the manager, at 11am. She called to let us know that Winston was being very aggressive, and pinned a Rottweiler down. She said that she had to remove Winston, and no other dogs I may add, out of day camp for the day. I understand removing the dog for a short period to calm them down, much like they do for my brother's Viszla, which is actually an aggressive dog. He gets 15 minute "time outs" and then he is welcome to rejoin the other dogs. I don't understand why he wasn't allowed the same treatment, and why Winston was the only dog removed. Then around 2:40 pm I received another phone call from Amy, stating that we needed to pick up our dog, because he is crying and howling in his cage. First of all, we dropped him off because we had to work all day! How does this make sense? The supervisor on duty had even expressed what a wonderful puppy Winston normally is, and that he has never done this before (which has been documented in his previous report cards). This clearly shows the incompetence of the staff not being able to handle this situation more appropriately. Secondly, he was obviously anxious and upset being locked up all day. I could have kept him locked up at home for free. IF they must remove a dog from camp, then it is absolutely their responsibility to interact, and comfort the dog locked up all day. But, as the supervisor on duty explained to us, that if we didn't pay for extra attention, then they do not receive any. What kind of bull shit is that? So, you're telling me there's an added fee to take appropriate care of the dogs under your care already?! Lastly, when they brought Winston out, he was soaked from his chin down; his paws, chest, and neck were literally soaking with water and drool. Clearly he was not being taken care of, instead left in his cage all day crying. His paws and undercarriage have multiple sores and blisters from being locked up and soaking wet all day. He has multiple nails that are cracked, chipped, and broken, which can only be from scratching at the cage in efforts to get out. Since leaving, he has not had a solid bowel movement, and is not acting like the fun loving puppy he normally is. We asked to see the video of the incident, and of him being in the cage, but go figure, they do not have "access" to it. We were told that a manager would contact us the following day to discuss what had happened, and to discuss the fee for the day. They still have not called or reached out to us to converse about the matter at hand. We refused to pay for him to be neglected and abused. Photos were taken immediately after retrieving him from the store, and neglect has been concluded and documented by our vet. We will be seeking legal council for neglect and abuse. It goes without saying that we, my family, and everyone I have referred to pet smart will cease their business with the terrible store. I will be sharing my story with every review website, and every social media outlet. I have contacted the local media, as well. We have heard stories of other dogs being abused and neglected, and now we have the proof. read more

I love this store. I come here all the time for my pit for all the things she needs. I bought her a collar and a muzzle for training and she broke them both maybe within 30 minutes on trying them out. I drove back to pets mart wondering if I could return them even though they have just seen me not too long ago!! The employees were more than nice and didn't question anything. They returned them no questions asked and I thought how awesome of a store this must be because they're so understanding and helpful! read more

The service and selection are unbeatable. Guinness (my black lab) is treated like a celebrity even though she's a complete spaz the minute she realizes that we're going for doggy day camp. With a newborn in the house it's awesome to let them work the energy out of her for the day, and boarding "herself" is very affordable and pure pleasure. read more

Generally excellent service in all areas of this store. But Manager Sarah lets this down. Poor handling of a stressful situation and made a frequent good customer look stupid in front of other staff and customers with poor demeanor because of a simple error another Pet Smart employee made. I love this Petsmart! They have everything I need for my fur children and we always have a friendly cashier experience. I would never go anywhere else for the "essentials" (Blue Buffalo wet and dry food, litter, Organix cat treats, Petromalt hairball relief, C.E.T. toothpaste, etc!). My puppy George loves day camp. He can't wait to go in, is always so excited to see the people and the dogs there. He's been going regularly for about a month, he started at 4 1/2 months. I had taken him to another (not Petsmart) daycare one time before Petsmart and he was not happy with that experience so I was a little worried. No problem at Petsmart - he comes home tired and happy, runs in when we go back. He had a crabby day the other day - teething & tired, so they gave him a time out nap & kept me posted. Love that. Everyone there is so nice and obviously love dogs. It is a lifesaver when I have long days at work to know he's having a blast and well cared for + getting great socialization. read more

We love this Petsmart and so does our dog! He absolutely loves going for doggie day camp and all of the staff in the day camp is so friendly and always make a point of getting to know our dog. We've done 2 levels of training here and were pleased with that as well. As far as shopping, there are always associates around to help and the store is clean and they have what we need. So glad were able to come here. read more

This store is defiantly way better than most chain pet stores there animals are always healthy and clean. staff is friendly and you can actually find them is not like there are only two people running the whole store. They always have good deals and tons of clearance items. I cant say enough about there customer service great people. read more

Day camp here is awesome. The dog loves it, and the employees are super nice. Boarding is a great bargain, and very easy. Classes are fun, and the store is very nice and clean. Can't say enough good things about this location. read more

This place is seriously so frustrating for grooming. Over the past year I've brought my dog in several times for grooming. Every time I make an appointment they tell me she is not up to date on her rabies vaccine. There's an issue with their system and despite me constantly bringing in her paperwork they never update her file. I just brought her in for an appointment and was relying on being able to drop her off as I was on my way to my own appointment and they wouldn't accept her. Now I have to take my dog all the way back home and miss my appointment. Her vet's office is closed and they can't validate and after constantly bringing in her rabies vaccine, I've misplaced it. Won't be coming here again. Was generally satisfied with the work outside of her sometimes having not gotten her ears cleaned as requested, but the fact that this continues to be a problem has sealed the deal. read more

This is about grooming! Not this location, never again! Our Havanese/Maltese mix was overdue, and we previously used an independent groomer who worked from her garage...she was great but we were trying to give the dog a fun day in doggy day camp and end up with a grooming session. He has long hair and it needed detangling, and trimming. Erica called to say there were lots of tangles... I think the impression I got is that they charge by the tangle? So we suggested they just cut it a bit lower just not so short that he looks pink! DON'T TAKE YOUR DOG TO ERICA! She scalped this dog! He was shorn down to his skin, his tail was cut down to the muscle, his legs were literally hacked up and raggedy looking... But the worst part is that she cut his ears so close they had scabs!! All that for $99!! Never again! We complained to the manager who said grooming would be free next time, but they won't get a chance to traumatized this dog again! I have always felt comfortable with Petsmart grooming, but not this location and not this groomer! read more

If you are a dog person, the following review will make sense to you... if not, you probably will think it is crazy. One of the great things about this Petsmart is that they have day care for your dog. For 20$ you can drop your dog off in the morning (starting at 7) and pick them up sometime before 9PM. This is great if you are going to be gone longer than normal during the day or if you want to help socialize your dog. It is also great before a trip, because your dog will just want to sleep afterward. You can have Petsmart schedule time with the groomers while your dog is there so you don't have to make another trip. The employees we have encountered are all definitely pet lovers and recognized our dog within 2 visits. Make sure to get reservations, as they fill up around holidays. We now take our dog there approx every other week or so and he is always excited to walk in (he can recognize it from the car now) and exhausted when walking out. Training at Petsmart is also usually very good. They have multiple levels including beginner, trick training, etc. read more

We are never big fans of boarding our sweet yellow lab but sometimes there are no other options. Our dog has been to this PetsHotel a number of times and EVERY single time she comes home with kennel cough. Yes, she has the bordatella shot but from what the vet says, just because the dog gets the shot doesn't mean it won't get kennel cough. She was at the PetsHotel for 24 hrs recently and has been coughing like crazy since she's been home. It drives me crazy. We haven't had a bad experience there-the people are friendly, our dog seems to like it, but I can't get past the fact that she always comes home sick. We will do our best to never leave her at Petsmart's pet hotel again. read more

Made a grooming appt w PetSmart on Rt 59. On the phone they asked if my pets were up to date on vaccinations. Yes they are. Ok, no further conversation about it. Three days before the appt I received a call from PetSmart. They left a message but it was garbled, so I was shopping in the area and just stopped by to see what the message was. I personally walked into the grooming facility and spoke to two employees there. They said they were just confirming and looked them up. Ok then I'll see them on the appt date. Day of appt I show up w my 2 dogs and now I need paperwork which I didn't bring. They can call the vet. Ok. But one is a rescue I got two months ago and the rescue gave the rabies. So, I was told I needed to get that paperwork. He was wearing his current rabies tag. Huge huge huge waste of my time all because the two personal contacts I had with them I was not told to have this paperwork. I will never go there again due to the lack of knowledge and professionalism of the employees! Then as I was leaving I was told if I want to come back some other time they'll give me $10 off. I'd rather pay $10 more somewhere else!! Lack of management. read more
