Walked into this location to pick up a few cans of dog food, noticed the Pet Hotel so I figured I would check it out. One look and I said "HELL NEVER would I leave my dog here." Granted, I know it is better than leaving your furry friend at home all day while you are at work. I do I wish I could call all of the dog owners who chose to take their dog here and tell them to chose another place to leave your pet. It's not a huge deal, but for me as a dog owner the red flags were going up. I witnessed approx 7-10 large dogs playing together in an area that was a little bit bigger than maybe 12x12. I noticed an employee with his knee resting on one of the dogs backs while leaning on the wall casually watching the dogs play. There was a 3 legged pup in the large dog area that could totally hold his own, but when it got to the point that it was 4 dogs on that 1 dog I felt that the employee should have attempted to break up that play rather than allowing it to continue. I also observed 2 other dogs sitting next to an empty water bowl trying to tell the employee that they wanted water. The bowl is not even 5 feet away from the employee, but dude is not paying attention to anything, kind of just staring off. I watched the 2 dogs sitting next to the bowl check the bowl for water and look at the employee like "yo, we want some wate!r" I know how important it is to know that the person or in this case, company that is caring for your pet is doing the best job. In this case, I do not think that PetSmart is doing THE best job. If you are looking for a reliable dog-sitter message me, I can do a much better job then what I witnessed at this location. read more

Quoted me a grooming price over the phone and didn't honor it at the store. I have a very small dog... It shouldn't have changed bc of her size. Groomer took a lunch break and finished my dog over an hour after she was promised, not updating me. When I brought these things up politely, two other employees in the grooming area began yelling at me, so I found the store manager. Got it the service comp'd, but I still wasn't happy with the work performed. With the attitudes they had today, I wouldn't trust them with my animals. read more

I have a Golden Retriever, Leo, that gets groomed at this PetSmart location, and it is always a positive experience! He is a big boy (95 lbs) with lots of hair and tons of shedding. They always do a great job of thinning his hair out, taking care of knots and matting, and trimming his coat. The groomer Leo goes to and LOVES is David! David is so wonderful and friendly- you know your pup will be very well taken care of with him! read more

The animal hospital at PetSmart in Buckhead is horrible. I called to ask how much it would cost to get a travel certification for my dog, they said it was included in the price of the office visit. I got there waited 2 hours to see the vet, which I never saw!!!! One of the girls brought me the travel document and charged me $35 plus office visit for it! I'm not even sure if there was a vet there that day, never got to see him/her. Obviously, horrible doctors that don't care. Do not go! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Not only did they shave my Cavalier's gorgeous coat when I asked for a simple 'trim'. But she also left the store with fleas! When I brought her there, the floor was covered in dog hair and the grooming area was completely filthy. I would not trust my dog there ever again--there are so many better places in Buckhead that love and respect your dog. Petsmart Buckhead is not one of them. read more

For this months pet wellness bill I was charged $45.85 and I was actually supposed to be charged $26.00! I called Banfield's Corperate office and apparently they charged me two $10.00 fees because they tried to draft from my checking account twice with no success. At the time I had transferred my money into my savings for a purpose. Instead of calling my cell number that they have on file they decided to charge me until funds came up! My funds come in almost daily by the hundreds! I find this company to be a rip off and just a slick mastermind of sales! You got me Banfield but you may get yourself a little bit in the end. Word of mouth is the worst form of advertisement for you when someone asks me. read more

I brought my dog (70 lb mix) here for the first time for a nail trim. The guy at the front with the dreads and piercings (sorry I did not catch his name) was so friendly and my dog really took to him well. The trim was quick even though I didn't have a reservation and I was in and out in less than 10 mins. We'll be back. read more

Stay far away... I read the reviews and thought they can't be that bad. I gave them a chance and was very disappointed. I'm not sure if these kids in PetSmart know anything about grooming. You have to love pets to even understand how we feel about our babies. A grooming position is not just a job. PetSmart must do better with there interviewing process. read more

My dog spent a day at the Doggie Day Camp. She was very shy. The staff member who was supervising was very nice to her. She frequently petted my dog and encouraged her to play with other dogs. The experience would be better if they had a bigger area for doggie day camp. There were around 15 dogs in the big dog session and another 15 dogs in the small dog sessions. Using pet hotel for 4 nights. Never boarded my dog before and was told that I could see where he was going to be staying before I left him. When I get there, the store rep would not allow me to see the suite that I was paying a higher fee for. I asked to speak with a manager, Derek, and was again told I couldn't see it "because it was a mess back there"! Why would I leave my dog in a place that's a mess?!? Dog Training Classes at Petsmart: I just wanted to give a bit thumbs up to Jerome and his Beginner Education class. I took my dog there and eventhough he is an adult that I just never trained and this class was mostly puppies, that was not a problem. My Husband came with and we both learned how to teach and "unteach" the dog and ourselves a few basic things that have made our lives so much easier. Jerome was very patient with all of the students including my very stubborn Beagle who does not do anything he does not feel worth his while.. he even got my dog to lay down on the last class and that was something I was having trouble getting him to do. If their merchandise wasn't so expensive this would be my new favorite store. I just got a puppy and we have spent at least one day in here every week. Their training classes are affordable and really great. They have a doggie day camp that let's my pup play all day long and she's exhausted for 2 days afterwards. It costs about the same as hiring a dog walker (not a service here) and putting your dog back in a kennel. Every toy we've gotten here has been destroyed in a day (oh well) but they are very expensive. Food is pricey but the only store I can find that carries it. If its on sale, stock up. read more

After moving to the Buckhead area from Midtown I decided to change my dogs PetSmart Grooming location. What a mistake!! There is no comparison- the Midtown PetSmart on Ponce was my grooming salon for years; with only excellent results and happy dogs. Each time I've taken my Westie and my Shi-tzue to this Buckhead location they come out with a different cut. They cannot follow directions and have no consistency in their service. The WORST occurred this week. My little rescue Shi-tzue has never looked more pathetic- they not only cut his tail but shaved his butt and I believe plucked it to the point that he is completely traumatized. He is a nervous wreck and IN PAIN. I am taking him to the vet this morning because he cannot take 2 steps without turning back to lick his rear end. He could not sleep last night. He has been barking which he never does and I think he is in such pain but cannot do anything. I will NEVER go to this place again. Clearly the person who groomed him had no skills! And hurt him! Whatever PetSmart would employ such an ignorant groomer does not deserve business. I'm going back to the PetSmart on Ponce. It's worth the drive for caring, compassionate, and skilled groomers!! read more

I love this store, this is where I adopted my guineas and get all of the supplies for my cat, Penny. Though I do think that some things here are very expensive and that you can get a lot of it on Amazon for half the price, it is very cool to go in and pick out the perfect cage, litter box, or anything. The service is good whenever I go there, they come up to me and ask me if I need any help. I like this store a lot and their cat food is amazing. Guinea brands, not so much. read more

I went in to look at there koi and then I saw a small barn chick yard it was by the 50% off touching it and pointy of room to put it in another spot there was no price tag so I weighted for the sales lady to finish with another costumer. I asked if it was 50% off because of where it was sitting she called some one and said it was over stock and she showed me another one totally different bigger and all mean while she is on the phone I ask her what is the price and she said she did not know and got back on the phone I wanted it and she was not willing to help me I told her she needed to move it because it was dacving all she had to say is that she would tell her manager and she could sale it for the price of the other one that was two times the size of it so would probably two times the money it should be and it should be 50% off it's one price itoock pictures but don't see where I can put them read more

Slow!! Slow!!! Slow!!! What's the purpose of an appointment, with a three window, when it takes almost 6.5 hours for your dog to be ready!!!!????? This isn't the first time but it seems to be the norm!!! A Shih Tzu should not require 6.5 hours to be groomed!!! Unacceptable!!!! read more

Would not recommend for grooming. I usually only take my pup there to get her face or nails trimmed (with good results) and have her groomed elsewhere. My regular groomer was booked so thought I would give this place a try. Terrible idea. I requested for her hair length to be left long, to use the guard length that would keep her hair the longest. When I came back I didn't even recognize her. Her hair was so short that you could see her skin, her eyelashes were cut without my permission, and she still had a large knot of hair behind her ear (that she didn't have before I brought her in). She has never been terrified to go here before until this grooming, now she shakes terribly. The one thing he did right was leave the length of her ears long like I wanted, but someone else finished her off and ruined that. My regular groomer saw her the next day, felt so bad for the way she looked she offered to try and fix what she could for free... I thought I would give them one more chance to trim her face. Told them I only wanted to do that nothing else. Turns out the guy I gave I instructions to wasn't the guy who was going to do the cutting. I come back and he had cut the length off her ears that I have been trying to let grow since she was a puppy (she's 1y now). Again w/o asking me! And it is uneven! Never again... read more

Dana did a really nice groom on my King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. Also, he's a rescue from a terrible puppy mill, and hasn't been groomed very much. He is still skittish about being touched in some places...his hind quarters and his paws. He was very scared. Dana is willing to work with him over the coming months to ease his anxiety and get him used to being handled in this way. read more

Sundance loves Elisa what else can I say. She has been grooming him for 2.5 years. She is amazing with him- they have a bond that is remarkable. Prior to finding Elisa he was traumatized by having his feet and ears touched and being a Labradoodle his ears must be cleaned up. She worked with him and began to earn his trust and after a few visits she was able to touch his ears and feet. As long as Sundance is with me we will follow Elisa wherever she goes. Since brining home my doodle two years ago, she has been his groomer. She has an amazing way with him and my shy, timid and anxious dog often falls asleep while he is getting groomed! i drove to this location last night (in a driving rainstorm, in atlanta traffic) for nail care on two dogs. the lazy cows in charge asked for my rabies info though i knew it had been updated within the last 6 months. they told me they needed the hard copy, which of course i didn't have on me. i suspected they could have seen that it had been updated at another store if they had taken the time to look it up. they didn't even try. it took me another 45 mins to get home. i confirmed this morning, through my neighborhood store that my dogs are up to date and their records are accessible at all locations across the nation. those lazy skanks just didn't want to do it. it was late (around 8pm), the store was almost empty because of the weather and they were having a good time doing nothing! f those lazy cows! i have spoken to their manager and petsmart corporate is next! read more

I took my 2 dogs to the daycamp at the Buckhead Petsmart. I called throughout the day to check on them. I was told on all occasions that they were fine. But when I get them home, I notice that one of my dogs has a puncture wound. I took him to the vet to learn that he had been bitten many times, with one bite puncturing him, as well as multiple scratches along his chest. I notified the Daycamp/hotel manager who provided not one ounce of empathy nor tried to investigate. I will NEVER bring my beloved dogs back to this Petsmart. read more

I took my 9 month old rescue dog to get groomed at the Buckhead Petsmart recently. I was very nervous after reading reviews about the grooming and also because he will not allow anyone to handle him. From the very start I dealt with Marquita, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was very attentive and made me feel completely at ease. She kept me updated throughout the day and handled my little guy with lots of care and attention. She groomed my dog exactly the way I asked, and he seemed to really take a liking to her. I will be taking him there from now on to see Marquita, and so should everyone else. She is amazing. read more
