I stopped by for a dog bed and was blown away by the price on it. I've got three dogs so I buy them regularly and have an idea of what they cost. This one was priced at about twice what it should have been. The store was crazy busy on a Saturday but only two people were working the registers. The parking lot is a mess and they were also hosting a dog adoption event in the parking lot right in front of the store, which drew a lot of pedestrians through where people were driving. read more

Bought a huge critter cage and zero assistance getting it to the register. Carts not big enough to hold it. No offer to help out to car from any of the employees including the one I passed in the parking lot that couldn't even be bothered to thank me for spending my money at at Petsmart. Besides the chameleons looking like they're skin and bone, every reptile in super tiny houses, and totally wrong environments. They can't even keep clean toilet paper in their bathrooms!! Petsmart was a popular destination this afternoon. Everyone and their dog (literally) decided to shop here this Saturday afternoon. The store is deceptively large inside and staffed with super helpful employees. One employee personally fit my dog, Bailey, with a new harness. She went above and beyond to ensure that it fit correctly and assured Bailey the entire time. We found everything that we needed and even some things that we didn't ;) Not a bad place to shop if you need anything pet related. read more

This Petsmart sells diseased fish with severe fungal infections. You can visually notice the large fungi growing on the live fish. Not to mention all the dead fish in the tanks. They continue to sell diseased the sick fish. They will not stop acquiring new stock that they infect as soon as it hits the contaminated system at the Soncy location. They continue to sell disease to customers who then infect the system they have. This company is pure evil and only care about profit and life means nothing to them. They are more than willing to infect your fish and stress the sick fish they have by shocking them while already ill. If you care about animals and fish I urge you to never support Petsmart. read more

My family and I have been using this PetSmart for a few years now to buy different types of fish. They usually never last long, but we just assumed it was something faulty that we did. The reason why I'm rating this PetSmart low is because 1. They seem to never have someone in the fish section so when a staff member does come along, a long line usually forms and 2. A particularly rude encounter my mother had with a middle aged blonde employee last Friday. My mom was able to get someone to get some fish for her but the employee quickly became impatient and rudely rushed her even though she was there first and had to go find someone to help her despite her limited ability to speak English. Yes there was an inevitable line forming, but if someone was there you wouldn't have this problem. (This situation existed pre COVID, too) The blonde lady proceeds to roughly scoop the fish into the bags so my mother had had enough and let her know that there was no reason to be mean to her and the fish. The employee realized how she was acting was unprofessional so she "helped" carry the bags of fish that my mother was more than capable of carrying. Lady, if you weren't so rude in the first place, you wouldn't have to do any of this unnecessary extra stuff. Additionally, she asked why my mother was constantly at this location buying fish. ??? We have a pond and a few aquariums fyi but as a business, shouldn't you want people to buy your products as faulty as they are? The last time I went, they barely had any fish and the ones that were there looked like they were on the brink of death. I won't be going to PetSmart next time. PetCo is closer to us anyway. read more

I have been a customer here since they opened. This place has just about everything that you could want for your pet. However, the lines will almost always be 4-5 customers deep while you watch their employees just stand around talking about the weather, or last night's date, or something else of no importance to you. Even the management will hang around watching contently as their customers wait FOREVER to check out in the one cashier lane they will open. Why have all those lanes if you aren't going to use them? I love Petsmart and after moving to Dumas, TX I was disappointed in the lack of acceptable pet boarding in Amarillo. When we lived in Gallup my husband and I would often visit Albuquerque and the Petsmart locations there had a Pet Hotel with Doggy Day Care and a Banfield. When we travel around we are always looking for places for our dogs to go stay at so they are not bored while we are out and about. We have tried a couple of places in Amarillo, but have had no luck with any of them. Unfortunately, the closest Banfield/Petsmart Pet Hotel from us is about 5 hours away in Albuquerque or Oklahoma City. It would be awesome if this Petsmart expanded with the Pet Hotel!! **hint*hint** read more

I never thought I'd be one of those people writing one of these, but I'd give this PetsMart grooming salon 0 stars if I could. I've been taken my dogs to plenty of petsmarts to be groomed and everything has always been great. This was my dogs' second visits and I had to drag both of them inside. I didn't think too much of it first. They went back to be groomed and shortly after (I was still signing the paperwork) the groomer came out with my 14 year old dog freaking out because she had pooped on her. SHE HAS NEVER DONE THIS. The groomer was freaking out; quite distressed from this happening. I, like her, also work with animals daily. Although, I work with farm animals. In short, because I work with farm animals I get pooped on every single day. I've even had a calf projectile poop into my mouth. Yes, of course it's gross and horrifying, but I have NEVER reacted the way she did. The other groomers tried to defend her and I said h**l to the no. You should not be working with animals if you don't have the patience and understanding to deal with them. I pulled both of my dogs from their appointments and left and they lost $155.00. AND this all happened within 3 minutes of me being there. The groomers name was Kayla and I'll never forget. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS FOR GROOMING HERE. read more

The employee denied access to the manager and when I complained about another employee she proceeded to argue with me taking up for the other employee. I called PetSmart Sunday, January 23, 2012 to see if there was anyway they could get my my Toby into see the groomers. They told me to bring Toby in and they would work him in. I took him in and surprisingly they called my in just two hours. I went in to pick my dog up and he looked so GREAT!!! Not only did they fit Toby in but he looks wonderful. At the PetSmart Store #189 in Amarillo, TX, I just had the worst customer experience I have ever had with any store in the history of my life. I traveled to Amarillo on Sunday, 11/15/2015 to move my mother-in-law into an assisted living facility in my home town. My mother-in-law is mobility impaired and she has a blind cat. I bought a cat crate from the PetSmart at 2800 S Soncy Rd and then ran several other errands to prepare for the early flight on Monday. When I started to put the crate together, it was missing a door and the screws to hold it together. I ran back up to the store at 7:15 p.m., but they had closed at 6:00 p.m. There were still employees there, so I knocked on the door and asked them to please allow me to exchange the crate for one that had all the parts. The two employees who came to the door went and got their manager, "Webb," who opened the door slightly and told me there was nothing they could do to help me. In an effort to try to explain my circumstances, I put my foot in the door before he could close it and he threatened to call the police. I told him that this was an emergency and that I could not return the crate during store hours because I was getting on a plane before they open. He told me to "try Walmart" and shut the door. PetSmart's website states "At PetSmart, we pride ourselves on doing the right thing, even when it's hard. This means that we take responsibility and act with integrity." Obviously, PetSmart has a very different definition of taking responsibility and acting with integrity than pretty much any human being on the face of the earth. I will never spend another penny at a PetSmart store and I would caution anyone else from doing business with the store at 2800 Soncy Rd. in Amarillo. read more
