I made an appt to bring my golden retriever in for a full groom. Got there to drop her off and the six employees in there just stared at me and didn't greet me. I stood there for a good 5 minutes listening to them yell at other dogs and watch them continue to eat donuts rather than acknowledge a customer that just walked in. I don't bring my dog here anymore. Unfortunately one thing I hadn't noticed was that some employees are smokers. The last time I had picked up my dog here he smelled like cigarette smoke. It took about 2-3 hours before he aired out. Oh well, it was good while it lasted. read more

This is absolutely the best grooming shop in town. I have used them for 35 years. I started with a Cocker, Rottweiler and too many to list but now on my second Standard Poodle. They really are excellent with the Poodles. But above all are their tender care and always making sure the dogs are comfortable and happy. My dogs rush in happy to see all the staff and if there was any problem my very sensitive timid dog would not be eager to go inside. Pricing is very fair. Wanda McKinney has been the owner for the 35 years I have used her. When a dog is very tangled and needs lots of brushing or is insecure about their first trip they pay attention to giving the dog rest breaks while working on them to not over stress them. They stay till the job is done. So much compassion for the animals. Thank you Claws and Paws staff for all your continued care for my dogs. read more

Wanda and her staff are great to the animals. They have been doing my dog for almost 6 years. Love them.

They do a great job and totally love your pet. Our dog is always happy when he goes in for his pampering.

No one loves animals more than Wanda and her crew! Her rates are reasonable and you can tell she really cares!

I have a siberian husky that sheds a lot and Wanda and her staff do a great job every time we drop her off! She is always well brushed and nails cut. She is a skittish dog and she loves Wanda to death. My Rat Terrier was traumatized when he was little and he won't let anyone touch his feet, but Wanda can handle it! They always cut him down to 1/4" like I ask and get his nails trimmed as short as they can. These people do a great job! read more

What an ABSOLUTE JOKE this place is!!! I have NEVER had such a BAD job done on my dogs ever!!! I brought my yorkie mix in a while back and they did a fairly decent job on her so I decided to bring her back. I was really surprised when literally I had just gotten home 30 minutes later and they were calling to say she was done. I picked her up and she looked pretty choppy and bad. I should have made a fit but I didn't. They obviously rushed, didn't do her nails and gave her no bath. I made a HUGE mistake of going back. They are close to me so I decided to give one more chance. BIG MISTAKE. Dropped both my dogs off this time, and then went to pick them up. I asked for 1/4 inch to be used on their entire bodies and they used 3/4 inch. Barely cut any hair off at all. There nails were not done and there pads and paws didn't seem to be trimmed at all. This time I said I asked for 1/4 and they were WAY too long. Wanda said to bring them back the next day and they would fix them no charge. This was a HUGE inconvenience for me, but I did it anyways. First within the hour they started tearing up my phone literally calling me about every 5 minutes for a total of 10 calls and texts within an hour. Ridiculous. I was in class for the 2 hours after I dropped them off. Apparently I was supposed to take the whole day off for their mistakes . I had to step out of class and call my husband to pick them up. When he did, they wanted to be paid in full. I guess the "no charge" was to have them fixed, so basically we paid full price for having to take them there twice!!! So I get home and they look HORRIBLE!! I cannot believe that this place cares so little. They have razor lines all over both their backs. Razor burns. They have chunks everywhere that have been missed. There paws were not trimmed AT ALL. They still have a bunch of long hair between their pads. No nail trimming. And they have FLEAS!!!! My dogs have NO interaction with other dogs and are always at my house and have NEVER had fleas. I NEVER gave my permission for them to be let loose with other dogs to contract their fleas! I am hoping I don't have to treat my whole house now! PAWS and CLAWS doesn't give a crap about your dogs. All they care about is finishing quick so they can get out of there by noon. That is ALL they care about. Doing a good job means nothing to them, and they wont even do it if you have to bring them back twice! I wouldn't recommend them to anybody! read more

We will not take our baby girl back to this place. Chose because it was closest to our home; however, first thing I noticed when I walked in was that the place reeked of cigarette smoke. I do not want my dog to have to be exposed to second hand smoke or to come out smelling like smoke. Another thing is, I got there at 6:30 a.m. and was told it would take only 2 hours (there were only 2 ahead of her). She was not ready until after 10:30 a.m. --- over 4 hours! I was told first come, first serve, but apparently they work on regular customers first. read more
