I canceled my engagements for the mornings, which was fine, but this should be shared when the appointment is made. I asked what was included in the mini groom which is the service I booked. (No real cutting.. just a bath, teeth cleaned, trim of the feet pads and sanitary areas) I was then asked if I wanted to pay an extra $8 to have my pups feet trimmed up when the BOTTOM of her feet were trimmed. I declined the service. When I went back 4.5 hours later to pick my pup up I was informed that while she was trimming the bottom of her feet she went ahead and trimmed her whole foot up and that she wouldn't charge me extra. She explained that "as a groomer it looks very unkept so I trimmed them up". I told her that I don't trim my dog that she was bought as a shaggy dog. She could tell I was very angry!! I had declined the service yet she did it anyway. She told me there would be no charge and she was sorry. I spoke to my dog so I could pick her up and at that time the lady proceeded to the back and SLAMMED the back area door. She slammed the door as if I did something wrong! She took it upon herself to make a decision that was not hers to make after I clearly told her no! Now it will be months before her hair grows out and she is a photo shoot puppy so I am screwed. To top it off the cut on the feet is horrible (see picture) and she shaved my girls butt bald! She didn't just trim it! Its just horrible! Picture of normal feet and 2 pics of chop job!

We searched for weeks on a safe and caring place to take her because we are so scared of animal abuse or aggressive humans. We took a chance with this place, heads up you will need to sign up on the app first, have the rabies decal and vaccinations ready to upload on the app before you can get an appointment. Somehow the person who took care of our cat was able to shave her, wash her, trim nails. We had to be called to come get her earlier than expected because she was hyperventilating. This tells me they took her health seriously and the situation and they were successfully able to shave her all over and bathe her to get her to a better healthy situation. I hate that they had to go through that with my cat but very grateful for their help. The package came out to around 75-85$.

I completely understand that some dogs need extra care, but it was made to seem like it was a huge issue that he might need assistance, as if dogs don't commonly have anxiety or past trauma. I was also repeatedly asked if I was sure I wanted to book, even after explaining multiple times that I just needed a simple wash and trim because grooming him at home has been difficult. It started to feel like I was being talked out of booking rather than helped. After that call, I ended up booking somewhere else that he's been to before, and they took him in with no hesitation and were very understanding about his anxiety. The difference in how I was treated was very clear. Because of this experience, I just wanted to share this feedback in hopes that future customers are spoken to with more understanding and reassurance.

When the groomer showed up, I told her of 2 skin tags on my dog's body so that she would be careful not to hit them. She barely looked where I was pointing, so I should have seen that ad a red flag. My dog was returned with several cuts along his body, the biggest being on one of the skin tags I pointed out to her. While I understand that knicks can happen, he has been groomed for years and never had a groomer cut him this bad. I will never trust this company with my dog again.

As a result, I felt compelled to update my review to not discourage people from trying Champ Bow Wow. The main disappointment boiled down to not being notified of the situation promptly. The owner ensured that training and procedures would be held to a higher standard moving forward. I understand that dogs can get into scuffles at any time, so in fairness, I think 3 stars is reasonable with the outcome, as well as informing future patrons of ANY boarding/day care facility to take pictures of their baby before leaving them and check their convenient Doggy-Cam.

I can't recommend them highly enough.... And their other programs are spectacular too!
