He is honest, works fast and got our AC up and working in no time. He's a very genuine person and we will always call on him with any problems with our AC. If I could give zero stars, I would. In 2023, Roman Petrosyan installed a new AC system - new ac and new condenser on the roof- full ac install in my home through Magma Air- his old company that he OWNED. As someone who did not know about HVAC- I trusted the expertise of the contractor sent to me, I paid for a complete installation, including a new condenser, new air handler, new drain pan, safety switch, electrical modifications, disconnect whip, PVC modifications, and other related components. For over two years, I had no reason to suspect anything was wrong, except water started leaking so I had it serviced. Then, during a routine service appointment, another HVAC company showed me video evidence that left me stunned. I was shown what appeared to be an old drain pan that was leaking. I was shown there was no safety switch. I was shown electrical tape wrapped around high-voltage wiring. I was shown exposed wires protruding from the installation. I was informed that the disconnect whip had not been replaced. I was told several of the modifications I had paid for either were not present or required correction. I was horrified. This wasn't a cosmetic issue. These were safety issues. Exposed high-voltage wiring is not something any homeowner wants sitting in their attic. I immediately hired additional HVAC companies to inspect and document the installation. Their findings only increased my concern. What happened next was even more unbelievable. Months earlier, I had randomly run into Roman and kept his business card. Unaware of the problems at the time, I called him to schedule service. He initially did not realize I was a previous customer. Once he recognized the address and installation, the conversation changed dramatically. I was given a series of explanations about past business problems, a heart attack, issues involving a former business partner, and technician mistakes. His technician acknowledged that the drain pan was not new and indicated they would return to correct the issues. That was over a month ago. No repairs. No accountability. No resolution. Just excuses. As a homeowner, I relied on the expertise of a licensed HVAC contractor and trusted that the work I paid for was actually performed. Instead, I am left with documentation from multiple HVAC companies, photographs, videos, repair invoices, and serious concerns about the incomplete work that he billed me for. At this point, I have lost all confidence that this company intends to honor its commitments voluntarily. Because of that, I am pursuing all available remedies, including legal action. My advice to anyone considering this company: have every installation independently inspected. Verify every component. Compare what is physically installed to what appears on your invoice. Do not assume that because you paid for something, it was actually provided. This has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I have ever had with a contractor, he has fully taken advantage and clearly lied about what he billed and I paid for. read more

I decided to ask Petro Mechanical to do a simple maintenance check on my two air conditioners, just to ensure they continue to do well during the summer months to come. I have had such maintenance checks done at least once a year from various HVAC companies over many years. I specifically chose Petro Mechanical because I was looking for a new HVAC company that had reasonable prices, and a friend had recommended Petro Mechanical because he thought they kept their prices to a reasonable amount and were dependable. Here is what happened: 1. After giving me an 11-1 window, they were two hours late with no apology. 2. Roman was abrupt to the point of rudeness. 3. The charge was $225 for 30 minutes of work. 4. No information was provided regarding the maintenance check, as I had always gotten when I had the air conditioners checked. Thus, Petro Mechanical is not the go-to company if your HVAC is working well and all you want is a simple maintenance check. From other reviews of this company, it looks like they may do okay if your HVAC system actually breaks down. Hope this is helpful. P.S. In the end, Roman had me decide how much to give him, so that's a point in his favor. I gave them $100 rather than the $225 and feel that was generous. My A/C went down last night and late on a Friday night with a Saturday looking to hit 107 degrees. Peak season and peak heat = ugh! I called several A/c companies booking 2 weeks out and over burdened by the need currently Roman of Petro Mechanical came out within an hour early on a Saturday morning. He examined the unit and concluded my capacitor was on it's last legs. He replaced it and even stayed long enough to test the temperature of the A/C in the house. I was impressed because too many times local AZ service companies all try to "up-sell" me into something I don't need. Roman was efficient and actually educated me on what possible solutions might be the cause of my lack of cool air problem. When I finally choose to replace my classic A/C model from 1983 I will think of Petro Mechanical for that project. read more

We used this company after another APS "approved" contractor over charged both our units with coolant. They are quick, honest and dependable. Yesterday they came after our downstairs unit failed to cool. The first diagnosis appeared to point to the compressor and today they came to replace it. They decided to conduct some additional testing and found that this unit had been harmed by being overcharged. Bottom line, they recommended that we not replace the compressor and take a "wait and see" approach. Could last a day, could last 5 years who knows. The unit is cooling just fine tonight. How many A/C contractors would actually back away from a lucrative repair when the customer has agreed to it? not many... read more

I had concerns about my daughter's A/C--was it really cooling as well as it should? Roman came by at our convenience, Saturday afternoon, and checked it out thoroughly--climbed through the hot, cramped attic to inspect the ducts, checked out each register for temperature and flow, and concluded that it's about as good as it can be in a sixty-year-old house. He recommended better attic insulation, and better flow control at each register. He spent probably two hours with us checking the system and discussing alternatives.
