I was pleased to fuel at a Petro-Canada gas station on Saturday. Its convenience store is this 7-Eleven. I don't frequent 7-Eleven stores often. It's mainly because there aren't many in Toronto. Markham doesn't have any. I have to venture out to either Vaughan or Pickering to find one. On my way home from work, there are two 7-Eleven stores that I can drop by. Sadly, they both didn't have Japanese-style egg sandwiches when I was last on a quest to get one. They were introduced recently and I wanted to get a sandwich to enjoy. I walked into this store after fuelling my car and paying for gas at the pump. I wanted to check it out. I saw frozen treats in a long fridge. The 7-Select churro cookie ice cream sandwich caught my attention. It sounded amazing and deadly! I was mesmerized by the fresh fruit next to baked goods. It's nice to have options, whether you feel like crunching on an apple or getting an apple fritter. It seemed like a mirage seeing many Japanese-style egg sandwiches above the subs and wraps. They were real. I picked one up and headed to the counter, beaming that I got an elusive egg sandwich. I got a cheerful woman who scanned my sandwich. She asked me if I had 7Rewards. I did. I pulled up the barcode from my 7-Eleven app and had it scanned. Done! I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I thanked her and left with my sandwich. I had the sandwich at home. The crusts were cut off. The filling was generous. It was yummy, but I felt that it was missing something. Maybe it's because I make fancy egg salad at home with green onions. It would taste even better with them. The filling did use kewpie mayo as the binder, so it was creamy. It's a decent snack if you don't feel like pizza or wings. This store has a Scotiabank ABM if you need cash. I loved dropping by this store. I hope to revisit it when I'm back in this part of Pickering. (193)

I never have a problem finding a free gas pump to use. Even more appealing is that Starbucks has recently opened next door. This gas station is clean and bright. They have an A&W inside and a Tim Horton's in the same lot. They also have a rewards card. Gas price isn't the cheapest in the area but you gotta pay for convenience and good service. PS late at night they lock the doors for safety reasons. If the door is locked just get the attendant's attention and they will unlock the door for you. I've never had problems in the area nor have I seen any unsavory characters hanging around late at night.

This Circle K is the convenience store that's a part of this gas station. This store has a built-in Tim Hortons. The winds were rather gusty at around 8 pm. I was wearing a hoodie and put the hood over my head to keep me warm as I was fuelling my car. After I was done, I needed to warm up. I could have simply got into my car. However, walking over to this store and checking it out would also warm me up. I opted to check out this convenience store. I don't know if this area had super friendly customers last night or if I contributed to how friendly folks react here. A man with a case of beer held the door open. I thanked him and wished him a good evening. He reciprocated. Nice! I walked inside this store. Its setup felt familiar. There were frozen desserts, such as popsicles and Drumsticks, in the freezer by the door to my right. I tend to be a beverage person. I liked that there were two varieties of Electrolit (berry blast and lemon breeze) that had no sugar. Sadly, they were not on sale. However, Bai drinks that were below them were 2 for $5. I like Bai. I got the coconut and watermelon varieties. This store has a Tim Hortons. I saw the display of donuts. This store has a strong chocolate bar section. I was impressed seeing practically two rows full of Dairy Milk. I learned that Reese's makes bars. This store also has a decent selection of wine. I have yet to buy a bottle, but if I do need to cook with some to deglaze my pan and the local LCBO isn't open, I know where I'll be getting a bottle. The man at the checkout was nice. It was my first time not redeeming a coupon in a while, which felt weird. He scanned both items. I then had my PC Optimum barcode on my phone scanned. I tapped with a credit card to pay for my items. Done! I wished him a good night. He did the same in return. I then walked out and held the door for a man walking into the store. It was as if I were paying things forward. He thanked me. I wished him a good evening. He reciprocated. It's probably the most polite sets of exchanges that I have had in a long time with folks at a convenience store. Night time price drops are becoming increasingly common in areas of Thornhill & Richmond Hill between Yonge & Leslie. Other recent hotspots include the corners Bayview/16th, Bayview/Major Mac, Shell on 16th/Leslie the areas of Yonge/Steeles & Yonge/Weldrick (most dependable). This particular station has a large capacity so you're almost never likely to wait for a pump, it has a good deal of driveway space around the pumps, and people going to the store have places to park with sufficient space away from entering/exiting traffic (unlike the poorly designed sibling on the Bayview/Hitech side). The vast majority of operators in the GTA hold the line of the same price so I think it's worthwhile for the consumer to keep a list of locations who offer small discounts from their own margins and reward them with increased sale volume whenever it practical to do so. It may be only $7-$9 a month but it's money I'd rather spend on some coffees or waffles.

I have visited this gas station a number of times over the years, but well before my time on Yelp. This place is just in front of a bunch of box stores, such as Winners and Staples. The downside is going eastbound along highway 7 and making a left turn to get to this Petro-Canada. There is a ton of traffic approaching in the opposite direction that it is a wait before you can carefully turn to pull into the station. I like that the bays are wide and that there are many. I had no problem finding an available pump. I filled up and paid at the pump. It was uneventful, but smooth. This station is clean. I was happy that my car's gas tank was full again. (89)

I visited two locations close to where I live. Both only accepted cash. If you know me well, I rarely have cash on me, especially during the pandemic. I'm all plastic cards. I remembered this Esso station that I pass by often heading to and from Stouffville. I decided to try my plastic card luck up there. The place had steady business. I had no problem finding a gas pump and pulled up next to it. I have frequented the Circle K a couple of times that's a part of this Esso. Staff have always been super nice to me. The area around the gas pump was clean. I rarely fill up at Esso. You have the option of either entering your PC Optimum card on the screen or swiping your card. It's funny, but I don't know my PC Optimum card off the top of my head. I can rattle off some card numbers, such as Air Miles, Aeroplan, and my 16-digit RBC client number. I oddly don't know what my PC Optimum card number is. I'll need to work on that. I had no problem using my PC Optimum and credit cards at the pump. It was a smooth transaction with an equally smooth gas fill-up. I thank Esso for not having an issue with its credit and debit cards. I had a terrific experience and relieved that I didn't need to visit more gas stations that night! (381)

No car wash but yes to a propane swap cage, a tire air pump station, ice, and firewood. Inside the station, lotto, beverages, and snacks are maximized into this cramped hut. I guess it does the job as a convenience stop. The service attendant was quick to process my store transaction and I was on the road immediately.

My visit last month extended this streak. I had no problem using my Petro Points card, my 407 ETR gas discount card, and my credit card to pay for my gas fill-up. This gas station is always clean at the pump. All was great. There weren't a lot of folks there. I was one of two customers on a Saturday afternoon. I loved it. It was great returning here. While this Petro Canada tends to be less busy than the nearby gas stations, it is only open from 7AM until 11 PM.
