I swiped my Petro Points card and gas discount card, and then tapped my debit card to pay for everything. I got my receipt and headed to my car. It's a clean convenience store. It was cool seeing a 7-Eleven as its convenience store. Markham doesn't have any 7-Eleven stores. Pickering has at least two that I know of now. I knew that I was going to visit this store afterwards to browse. I liked fuelling here. I threw away some garbage. I also saw a fire extinguisher at the gas pump. It was reassuring. I had no problem paying at the pump. I inserted my Petro-Points card, followed by my fuel-savings card. I then tapped my credit card, selected the fuel that I wanted, and did hands-free fuelling. After I was done fuelling, I went into 7-Eleven. The option to pay for gas inside was there, so I don't think it's any different than if this store were a Neighbourhood store. Having a 7-Eleven as your gas station's convenience store is awesome. I saw fresh fruit, hot foods on rollers, and a Slurpee machine. I ended up getting a Japanese-style egg sandwich. I felt accomplished! I"m happy that I got to fuel both my car and me with fuel and a sandwich, respectively. I look forward to returning here when I'm in the area. In my opinion, the gas tanks have been positioned in the wrong direction; you have to make a hard left or a hard right within the parking lot to line up with the tanks when you should be able to drive straight in. The rote questions that all Petro-Can staff ask--"Would you like (miserable) coffee with that?"--are a little tiresome, but I frequent these gas stations because my store card gives me two cents off per litre.

Both visits were after dropping by ZeeV's. I needed to redeem some digital coupons. I had a difficult time finding parking during my first visit. All spots in front of the store were taken. I couldn't park on either side of the building because there were cars already parked. I couldn't park closest to the road, as cars were also there. Ugh! I wanted to give up. I left the gas station and came back a minute later. I saw a free spot open up in front of the main doors. I nabbed it and went in. My goal was to get a Kinder egg. It was free with a coupon. The place had lots of Kinder eggs. I had my coupon scanned. The Kinder egg was mine. Yay! It was hot in my car and it got a few dents from melting a bit in my purse. It tasted great and the toy bird inside was fun. The man at the checkout was friendly and nice. My second visit was fairly recent. I went to redeem coupons for a free bag of chips, and a BOGO one for sunflower seeds. The redemption process was not smooth. My chips coupon was not accepted. It was definitely redeemed on my end, but it looked as if I needed to pay for it. I had a similar experience with the sunflower seeds. I said that perhaps his point-of-sale machine needed resetting. He did. The coupon worked for the sunflower seeds, but I still couldn't get my chips coupon to work. This man was nice. He let me take my chips. I paid for my bag of sunflower seeds with my debit card. I also scanned my PC Optimum card. Done! I was so relieved. There were five men behind me, waiting to pay. I was happy to leave! Night time price drops are becoming increasingly common in areas of Thornhill & Richmond Hill between Yonge & Leslie. Other recent hotspots include the corners Bayview/16th, Bayview/Major Mac, Shell on 16th/Leslie the areas of Yonge/Steeles & Yonge/Weldrick (most dependable). This particular station has a large capacity so you're almost never likely to wait for a pump, it has a good deal of driveway space around the pumps, and people going to the store have places to park with sufficient space away from entering/exiting traffic (unlike the poorly designed sibling on the Bayview/Hitech side). The vast majority of operators in the GTA hold the line of the same price so I think it's worthwhile for the consumer to keep a list of locations who offer small discounts from their own margins and reward them with increased sale volume whenever it practical to do so. It may be only $7-$9 a month but it's money I'd rather spend on some coffees or waffles.

There is a ton of traffic approaching in the opposite direction that it is a wait before you can carefully turn to pull into the station. I like that the bays are wide and that there are many. I pulled in and found a parking spot by the ice. I then walked into the store. It's spacious. I needed chips, peanuts, and water. I found all of them quickly and easily. There are Froster and Polar Pop machines at the back of the store. There's also a Tim Hortons on the left when you first walk in. There's a TImmy's drive-thru if you don't feel like getting out of your vehicle when the weather isn't stellar. I had a nice person at the counter scan my coupons. All went well. I thanked him and left with my goodies. I rarely fill up at Esso, but it was steady business at the pumps. Many folks go inside this store to pay. I had a good experience at this store.
