I like the Circle K attached to this Esso station, because it has Frosters and Polar Pops, along with some hard-to-find items at the time, such as Fuze and Pepsi Zero. My car needed gas. It occurred to me that I had never visited the Esso station. Circle K and Tim Hortons? Yes. There were a few gas pumps that were available when I got here on a Saturday evening at around 7:30 pm. Gas was at 115.2 when I got here. Yay! I had just driven by the Shell station that had gas at 116.1. I was happy. I had a empty Starbucks cup that I needed to throw out. There was a garbage receptacle next to the gas pump, which was handy. At the gas pump's screen, I entered my phone number that was associated with my PC Optimum card. I tapped my credit card. I then selected the type of fuel and I started the handsfree fuelling process. Fuelling handsfree is awesome, especially when it's cold outside. I love it. When my car's gas tank was full, I put everything away and got my receipt. Done! I locked my car and headed inside Circle K to redeem my coupons. This gas station does have a car wash. One car was using it when I left to head home. It was a perfect evening to grab drinks and fuel my car. I'd fuel here again. (499)

Similarly if you're going west on Kingston you can turn into the shell but you can't turn left to go east as you're exiting. The prices here are usually pretty on par with the Petro Canada across the street. There's a tiny store where you can go in to pay and they have a few items for sale. This station also has a soft cloth car wash and automotive services. A small bonus, though partially unrelated, is that it shares its turn in with the Tim Hortons so after you grab gas in the freezing cold winter, you can warm up with a cup of coffee!

However the Petro Canada is a much better stop in most respects (lighting, service, store & washrooms). Also I have never once encountered a grumpy, unprofessional or shiftless attendant at this location which can't be said for many gas stations. There are other stations in the Richmond Hill area which compete with price on & off - the corners of Bayview/MajorMac and Bayview/16th have been "hot" in recent weeks, the Shell at Leslie/16th used to be the cheapest but it's been inconsistent ever since that big overnight 10 cent jump earlier in the year. However it is only at these Yonge & Weldrick pumps that you can always count on the markdown. Why not 5 stars? Like most stations the last 10 years, the Air Pump is not maintained. And just last week during the -11c night the windshield cleaning stations froze solid because they failed to replace the diluted mix with 100% winter fluid. I consider most gas stations worthy of only 2 stars, NONE of them meet my expectations for an industry with a license to print money. They have two self ordering kiosk available. I haven't had KFC in a while and it was Tuesday so I decided to drop by and grab their special 2 pieces of chicken with small fries for $4.49. I remember back then they offered it for $2 called 'toonie Tuesdays'. I certainly miss this price! The chicken and fries was great, very tasty.

My fuel light lit up on my car's dashboard. I remembered this gas station and drove over. This station has a number of pumps. The downside is that many were unavailable when I was there. I pulled next to one, got out of my car, and there was a faint message on the screen that said it was out of service. So, I had to climb back into my car and find another free one. Luckily, I found one. There was a guy fuelling his car using the pump on the other side. He came over and was looking at the one that I wanted to use. Hey, buddy! I'm trying to back into this spot, but you're blocking my way. I could back into you and cause bodily harm, but I don't want your body to put a permanent dent in my car. He finally moved after a good minute. Sheesh! Gas is a bit cheaper here compared to the rest of the GTA. I used my 407 ETR rewards to get a discount per litre on gas. I paid at the pump and left.
