The cost per liter here is roughly about 5 to 7 cents LESS than the stations I see more often again in both Burlington and Etobicoke and I'm talking Shells so it's apples to apples. This station has 8 pumps but they are sort of at an angle so depending on which side of the pump you need it may be a little more effort maneuvering to the pump given the space and how people are trying to leave. If you want to go north your best bet is to exit at the Jane side and make a right (only choice). If you want to go west your best bet it so exit off the Major Mack side as you can only go north on the Jane and make a right. This station is basically only "safely accessible" if going west on Major Mack or north on Jane since there are all sort of road dividers blocking access in being that it's right at a corner. It's close to the 400 so if you're going to juice up going up north or back down from up north it's a good idea to gas up here and get cheaper gas than in the city. Don't forget they take Airmiles and they have diesel here too.

The area is clean. All is well. I didn't have a chance to walk into the convenient store. It looked pretty busy, as I saw a number of folks park in front of it, go in, and come out. This location has a car wash. I typically don't use it, as the rollers produce swirl marks that are noticeable, especially on dark-coloured cars. In the store, the focus is on cold drinks, auto accessories and thing like hats & gloves - not much snacks or grocery items compared to bigger Shell or Esso. However they do always have Sesame Snaps in stock - sometimes this is the only place within 5 km of my building where I can find Sesame Snaps at night! They also carry cheap, effective old school auto glass products Rain Vision & NeverFog which a lot of big gas stations don't sell anymore. Washroom is very basic but never nasty and it's always open. Note that at last check, Ultramar is not listed as a Top Tier gas seller. I'm not sure if this is due to not meeting the voluntary Top Tier standard for purity & detergency - though more likely not wanting to pay the costs of participating. Either way, just to be on the safe side I wouldn't suggest using Ultramar on a frequent basis if you have BMW, Audi or VW or any recent car with Direct Inection and/or Turbo technology (( though ironically you WOULD come here to get top-off oil for those cars because they sell synthetic Total in a wide range of grades you wouldn't find at most gas stations...)) Also note this station is built on somewhat of a raised mound, the driveways have a steep angle which can make for rough entry/exit for cars with regular or lower round clearance. If you're not driving a SUV or truck, you should take the entrances slowly & diagonally.

On the southeast corner of Major Mac and Donald Cousens Parkway is this Pioneer gas station. A tidbit of information: Donald Cousens was the former Mayor of Markham. He held that position from 1994 till 2006. My parents liked him. I did, too, although I caught the beginning and end of his mayoral tenure. Naming this parkway after him was a nice touch. The gas price was cheaper than the posted price at a nearby Esso station by four cents a litre. I frequent the Circle K there. I immediately made a left turn to fill my car's gas tank here. There were a few customers pumping gas. I found an available gas pump. The problem was that I couldn't pay for gas at the pump. It was the case with all pumps that day. Luckily, the option to pay inside the store was available, so I did just that. I was at pump 8. When I was done, I walked into the convenience store. It's huge. It was nice to browse a bit before paying. There's a mini Country Style area. You can get coffee, slushies, hot chocolate, and more. There was a sign that said donuts, but I didn't see any in the display case. I love crullers from Country Style. Sadly, I didn't see any in the display case. I got a helpful man at the payment area. I said that I had gas to pay for at pump 8. I got my Journie barcode scanned for the first time. Husky got bought out by Journie at least a year ago, so I got my Husky rewards transferred over to Journie. I then paid with a credit card. Done! I thanked the man after he gave me my receipt. I headed to my car and continued my drive home. If you want cheap gas in the northeastern part of Markham, come here. It was an unexpected, pleasant find. New gas stations with new pumps and love their paypass options right at the pumps. A quick tap 1 second later, I am ready to put in my gas. It was cold yesterday!
