At Kennedy and Highway 7, you have two Petro-Canada stations diagonally opposed. I know that Petro-Canada bought out all Sunoco stations years ago. I don't recall Kennedy and Highway 7 ever having a Sunoco. Out of the two gas stations, I frequent this one less. It is situated on the northeast corner of the intersection. Normally, I am travelling eastbound and stop by the other one. It's also easier for me to get home with the other one. I decided to give this neglected station a visit the other day. Gas was at 127.9. I had half a tank full. I decided to top it up. If you are looking for a fancy convenience store, car wash, and A&W's, you want the other Petro-Canada. The best part about this station is that you have what you need (gas and a small convenience store). It wasn't all that busy when I dropped by after work. I filled up and left. No muss. No fuss. If you're stuck choosing between the two Petro Canadas, ask yourself: Do you need to purchase anything from A&W? Do you want a car wash? No? You're just filling up gas? Then I suggest this branch over the one across the street. It's much less busier, therefore service is a lot faster. The lanes are one-directional. The idea is that traffic flows north, so you need to be facing that way when you pull up next to a pump. This station has a small convenience store. I don't normally buy anything there. I typically pay at the pump and leave. The only time when it gets extremely busy occurs when folks are using the car wash, trying to get salt off their car when it's winter. Other than that, it's easy dropping by, fuelling your car up, and leaving. Gas prices suck these days. This Petro-Canada posts regular gas prices. And, finally, this gas station on the southeast corner. Back then, this gas station was a Sunoco. It then got bought out by Petro-Canada and it has been one ever since. This station has always had a car wash. It had steady business last night. I filled up my car's tank here, as the temperature dipped just under the freezing mark overnight and I didn't have much gas left. The price is average for Markham. I was in the area picking up dinner. For old time's sake, I dropped by to check things out. It has a Neighbours convenience store. I didn't go it, but it was brightly lit and looked nice. There was lots of paper towel at the gas pump that I was at. I appreciated it. The garbage bin was packed, though. It was enough to toss my paper towel in after I was done pumping gas. Other than this detail, this gas station is clean. I had no problem paying at the gas pump. My Petro-Points, 407 ETR, and credit cards all worked seamlessly. It was great returning here. It's a reliable gas station to drop by, with roughly half the pumps available at around 7 pm on a Wednesday night. (412)

I needed to stretch. I like going into this Neighbours. It has an ATM, a ton of snacks, and a built-in A&W. It was pretty busy at around midnight, with folks chowing down on burgers and fries. There are a decent number of seats and tables to dine in this store. I had a nice cashier who help with my transaction. I swiped my Petro Points card and gas discount card, and then tapped my debit card to pay for everything. I got my receipt and headed to my car. It's a clean convenience store. I pulled off highway 404 and found this Circle K open just before midnight. It's located on the northeast corner of Woodbine and 16th avenues. I pulled in. Here's my beef. Perhaps it was too dark, but I circled (no pun intended, but it's cool nonetheless) around the gas pumps at this Esso station and did not see any designated parking spots if you were just going into the convenience store. How annoying! I ended up doing something that I dislike doing. I parked in front of a gas pump. I felt that my car would be safe there, even though I didn't need any gas. I then walked into the convenient store. I had a coupon for a free Pepsi Zero. This store did not carry it. Ugh! Instead, I saw Dreamworld Coke. I had heard about it, but had never tried it. I got one. I also had a coupon for a free Caramilk bar, so I ultimately grabbed one when I got to the counter. A nice male customer in front of me was looking at candy. He asked if I wanted to go ahead of him. I let him know that I was also looking at the Caramilk bar varieties just behind him. It all worked out. I needed the time to figure out what my Caramilk flavour options were and I wasn't in any rush. I got to the countersand got a helpful man. He said that he would be rebooting his payment system at noon. I looked at my watch and it was two minutes before that. I felt like my carriage and glass slippers would disappear soon, but I didn't have any of them. I had him scan my Caramilk barcode on my phone. Done! He said that I could get another Coke product and do two of them for $4.50. I let him know that I'd get another Dreamworld one. He asked if I had any other coupons. I mentioned that I had a car wash one, as this station had a rather bright car wash at this hour. He said that his system couldn't spit a car wash ticket out at this hour. That was okay. I'd redeem it another time. He was kind telling me how the car wash worked. It was as if he knew that I am a newbie to Circle K car washes. I appreciated it. I had my PC Optimum card scanned. I then tapped my credit card to pay for my drinks. All was well. I let him know that I'd grab another bottle of Dreamworld Coke. He nodded. I grabbed and thanked him. He wished me a good evening. I reciprocated and walked towards my car. My salted caramel Caramilk bar was delicious. It tasted better being free, I'm sure. The Dreamworld Coke quenched my thirst. It has subtle fruit and citrus notes with Coke. I loved that it had no sugar in it. I'm glad that I have another bottle to enjoy. The catch is finding a gas pump that allows you to pay inside the Circle K store. It's not as easy as it sounds. I know that the Esso station on Parliament in Cabbagetown does because I've successfully redeemed a coupon there. There's another one, but I can't recall where it was. In Markham, is there such a place? I did some exploring yesterday. I wanted to try a new Esso station that I had never frequented on Woodbine Avenue, across from Costco. I pulled up to an available pump and looked at the screen. I could only pay at the pump. I couldn't redeem my coupon. I left the gas station, not buying a thing. It was weird, empowering, and fun. I took a chance and headed over to this gas station. It's small. I have been to the Circle K in the past to get peanuts. You can maybe pack ten people in this tiny store like sardines if you had to. This gas station also has a car wash. I pulled up to an available gas pump. It was my lucky day. I could either pay at the pump or go inside to pay. I did the latter and started fuelling. I did it handsfree while I cleaned my windshields with the squeegee a few feet away. This gas station is clean and nicely maintained. I headed inside. I was one of two customers. The man behind the counter was cheerful. I redeemed my coupon. I scanned it, but he needed to double-check the coupon and whether I had hit at least 30 L of gas. Everything checked out. I got my discount. Yay! I had my PC Optimum barcode on my phone scanned. I then paid with a credit card. Done! He wished me a great day. I reciprocated and walked out with my receipt.
