I did something ridiculous today. I brought my car in to get winter tires. Normally, I remember to detach my house keys from my car key fob. I forgot. I got a shuttle home and realized that I didn't have my house keys. I tried to get the attention of my shuttle driver, but he was too busy looking straight ahead in the opposite direction. It's -14°C outside. As tough as I am to stay out on my door stoop, I decided to walk five minutes over to the plaza in which this store resides until my boyfriend returns home, which is just an hour. I wasn't sure whether this store accepts debit cards. I asked the kind man at the counter. It does. Yay! I was thirsty and got a Diet Pepsi. I also noticed the numerous dark chocolate Bounty bars and got one. I then paid. This store has a table in front of the lottery section. I asked him if it was okay to sit there for a bit. He was fine. I liked how understanding he was. The seats are padded. I can't complain. There are also bongs and vapes. It's amazing what I discover! The interior isn't the most attractive. However, it does have everything you expect from a corner store. To support my recollection that this store used to be a Becker's, there is still a sticker with its logo where the trash area is. This station has always had a car wash. It had steady business last night. I filled up my car's tank here, as the temperature dipped just under the freezing mark overnight and I didn't have much gas left. The price is average for Markham. I was in the area picking up dinner. For old time's sake, I dropped by to check things out. It has a Neighbours convenience store. I didn't go it, but it was brightly lit and looked nice. There was lots of paper towel at the gas pump that I was at. I appreciated it. The garbage bin was packed, though. It was enough to toss my paper towel in after I was done pumping gas. Other than this detail, this gas station is clean. I had no problem paying at the gas pump. My Petro-Points, 407 ETR, and credit cards all worked seamlessly. It was great returning here. It's a reliable gas station to drop by, with roughly half the pumps available at around 7 pm on a Wednesday night. (412)

The lanes are one-directional. The idea is that traffic flows north, so you need to be facing that way when you pull up next to a pump. This station has a small convenience store. I don't normally buy anything there. I typically pay at the pump and leave. The only time when it gets extremely busy occurs when folks are using the car wash, trying to get salt off their car when it's winter. Other than that, it's easy dropping by, fuelling your car up, and leaving. Gas prices suck these days. This Petro-Canada posts regular gas prices. Scanning this barcode at the locker is the key to opening the locker and fetching my package. I typically go to the Amazon locker at Whole Foods. A couple of days ago, the entire Amazon locker had no power. My guess is that the thunderstorms and power outages affected this Amazon locker. I couldn't fetch my package. I had made another order. I couldn't select my usual locker. It was obviously out of service so the option was removed. Instead, I chose to pick up my order at New Gen Superstore. It's in a small plaza on the southeast corner of Brimley Road and 14th Avenue. It's also closer to my home. There was plenty of parking when I came here after I was done working from home. I backed into a spot and walked in. This place is a large convenience store. I looked and didn't see any lockers. I had the nicest man behind the counter interact with me. I asked him if this place was an Amazon location. He said yes. I said that I had an order. He asked for my name. I provided it and he went over to the other side of the room to fetch it. I also got a barcode in my inbox from Amazon. He scanned it from his phone. He then scanned the barcode on the package to indicate that it was picked up. We had a nice chat. His store is also a full-service FedEx. Nice! This store had a lot of snacks and cold drinks. What stood out was a lot of space devoted to lottery tickets. You could sit down with your scratch-and-hopefully-win tickets and play until you are rich or poor. This store is cool in my books. When I saw the peanut M&M's guy with a bunch of candy, I knew that I would love this store. I had a great experience here. I'd return to check out the drinks and more.
