I had a great experience here. It's been open for a few weeks and I'd been eyeing it ever since I saw the sign "We sell injera here". I'm a gigantic fan of Ethiopian food, and my favourite Ethiopian restaurant down the street closed during the pandemic (and broke my heart).
Not only do they sell fresh injera (something I would NEVER attempt to make on my own), they sell everything you need to create a full Ethiopian meal, including shiro (in plain, spiced, and spicy). I ended up having a long conversation with the owner who talked me through how to cook shiro wot his way, and then pointed me to a youtube video that I could refer to at home.
That night I made a meal for a few friends and it went incredibly well. I managed to make a very delicious vegan meal.
I'll definitely be hitting this place up again for more ingredients (will shiro just be a thing I make all the time now? With rice??) and advice. I'm hoping more people in the neighbourhood give this spot a visit and make their own delicious food! read more
