There were plenty of available gas pumps when I was here. I had no problem entering my phone number associated with my PC Optimum card, followed by paying with a credit card. Pumping gas was smooth. This gas station was clean and cheerful for a gloomy, rainy afternoon. This gas station has a car wash. It was doing swift business while it was spitting rain. It was nice to finally drop by this Esso. I've got some decent gas station options at this intersection. (133)

I got $1.044/L when it was $1.104 at my other go-to stations and $1.159 everywhere in the 416. Since Thursday's 4c across the board price drop, they have maintained a -10c difference. Not sure how long this will last but if your business, leisure or Yelpwork will be taking you past the Bayview & 16th area I recommend trying to time your fill up to take advantage of the price difference and encourage the franchise operator to continue competing on price. (will post an update if I notice them fall back in line with the going rates.) Note that there is no proper access from the Bayview northbound lanes and access from westbound 16th requires a left very close to the intersection or a U turn to approach from the east, so those who are uncomfortable with abrupt & assertive turns may want to plan going past it and coming back around to approach form the east or the north.

The lines are shorter than they appear but about half the stations are operational. It looks like they are working to get crew to fix it. When you go into the gas station you have to line up on the street so you have a massive line from both sides of the road with people waiting to get in, spilling over on municipally owned road. I did notice you have to drive in from Adelaide, Bond has a no left turn sign. Costco needs to do more and regulate the incoming cars line ups on their property. I went in from an alternate entrance had to get in line and realized if I try to jam myself in the line I will block the entrance altogether, a gentleman was courteous to allow me to jump the line. Thank you sir, I will do that courteous for the next person. When you drive into the station there are about three open in each section and you have to go up a slight ramp. If you are driving manual transmission make sure you back off til clear in case you roll back. Costco is usually a more elite experience. Perhaps they should have remained closed until they were really ready and open for business at the gas station. I visited this location 2017 summer and again 2018 autumn no change still a construction zone. Please finish construction, I would like to update my review in 2019. Opens at 6:30am.

If you are coming from the east, driving westbound along Stouffville Road, you need to turn left at the intersection, and then another left into the gas station. In the past, you could just turn left once. It's a bit of an inconvenience, but it is what it is. There are many gas pumps. The problem these days is that the gas price at this specific location tends to be two to three cents cheaper than most in York region, so you may have to wait to fill your car's gas tank. I picked up a habit of getting a banana popsicle at this convenience store whenever I'm here. It's only $1 and it makes me happy. Staff are always happy whenever I stop in. (117)

The discount is no match to the 7-cent discount in Vaughan, but it is better than nothing. The store is a typical Petro-Canada otherwise. You can enter the station when you go north bound on Woodbine by-Pass or east bound on Stouffville Road. The traffic islands prevent you from exiting the station and turn south or west. It is an inconvenience, as I must go north to Tim Horton and make a U turn to go south to return to Markham.

They have two self ordering kiosk available. I haven't had KFC in a while and it was Tuesday so I decided to drop by and grab their special 2 pieces of chicken with small fries for $4.49. My fuel light lit up on my car's dashboard. I remembered this gas station and drove over. This station has a number of pumps. The downside is that many were unavailable when I was there. I pulled next to one, got out of my car, and there was a faint message on the screen that said it was out of service. So, I had to climb back into my car and find another free one. Luckily, I found one. There was a guy fuelling his car using the pump on the other side. He came over and was looking at the one that I wanted to use. Hey, buddy! I'm trying to back into this spot, but you're blocking my way. I could back into you and cause bodily harm, but I don't want your body to put a permanent dent in my car. He finally moved after a good minute. Sheesh! Gas is a bit cheaper here compared to the rest of the GTA. I used my 407 ETR rewards to get a discount per litre on gas. I paid at the pump and left. The convenience store was doing well. One of these days, I'll go in. This station also has a car wash. It had a good demand on a warm day as I left. (476)

This distance is roughly 50 km. It's a good thing that I like to drive. The problem can be how horrific the congestion is to get to and from destinations. One positive is that when I need to fuel my car, I get a cross-section of gas prices as I cut through the greater Toronto area. Naturally, some areas have prices that are cheaper than others. A weird phenomenon is that as the day progresses, gas prices fall until midnight. When it's a new day, prices go up. I had dinner in Vaughan, which tends to have the best gas prices. Gas was going for 120.9 cents a litre, which was a lot better than when I commuted to work earlier in the day at 130.9 cents a litre. I was heading home. As I left Vaughan, gas prices started to creep up. 122.4. 124.3. 129.5. Ugh! I was in the left lane heading eastbound on Highway 7. I was stopped at a light and noticed this Esso station. Gas was at 120.9. It was time to fuel my car. I looked and it was safe to pull into the left turn lane and turn onto Thornhill Woods Drive. I then made a right turn into this gas station. I'd say that half the pumps had customers fuelling their vehicles. I parked next to an available gas pump and got out of the car. The forecast called for wind gusts. I felt them as approached the gas pump. I had a hoodie on. Thank goodness for the hood part that kept me warm! I entered my phone number associated with my PC Optimum card on the screen. You get a point for each dollar that you spend on gas. I then tapped my credit card to pay for the gas in advance. I then selected the gas that I wanted and had the pump do its thing. It was nice to have hands-free fuelling on such a windy evening. This gas station was clean and bright. I had some garbage to dispose of and found the garbage receptacle. This Esso has a Circle K convenience store with a Tim Hortons store inside. The former was nice. I went to check it out and bought a couple of drinks. I saw the donuts at Timmy's, but I didn't get anything. It was fairly dark by the time that I had completed fuelling my car. In front of me looked like an air pump that had a garbage bag over it. Behind it was a vacuum that looked like it was functional. I liked fuelling my car here for the first time. When I'm in the area and need gas for my car at a decent price, this gas station is a good one. (400)

On the southeast corner of Major Mac and Donald Cousens Parkway is this Pioneer gas station. A tidbit of information: Donald Cousens was the former Mayor of Markham. He held that position from 1994 till 2006. My parents liked him. I did, too, although I caught the beginning and end of his mayoral tenure. Naming this parkway after him was a nice touch. The gas price was cheaper than the posted price at a nearby Esso station by four cents a litre. I frequent the Circle K there. I immediately made a left turn to fill my car's gas tank here. There were a few customers pumping gas. I found an available gas pump. The problem was that I couldn't pay for gas at the pump. It was the case with all pumps that day. Luckily, the option to pay inside the store was available, so I did just that. I was at pump 8. When I was done, I walked into the convenience store. It's huge. It was nice to browse a bit before paying. There's a mini Country Style area. You can get coffee, slushies, hot chocolate, and more. There was a sign that said donuts, but I didn't see any in the display case. I love crullers from Country Style. Sadly, I didn't see any in the display case. I got a helpful man at the payment area. I said that I had gas to pay for at pump 8. I got my Journie barcode scanned for the first time. Husky got bought out by Journie at least a year ago, so I got my Husky rewards transferred over to Journie. I then paid with a credit card. Done! I thanked the man after he gave me my receipt. I headed to my car and continued my drive home. If you want cheap gas in the northeastern part of Markham, come here. It was an unexpected, pleasant find. They have 4 grades of gas and also diesel. We came to this gas station because it was 5 to 7 cents cheaper than most gas stations in a 15 km radius. Actually there is an Esso a major block south that has the same price but that was out of our way. Tip: I use the "GasBuddy" app to find cheaper gas. The station was bright and clean. It has windshield squeegee using water (wasn't soapy water). There is a touchless car wash and it must be popular because there was a lineup of 8 cars at 8:00 pm on a Sun. The area is clean. All is well. I didn't have a chance to walk into the convenient store. It looked pretty busy, as I saw a number of folks park in front of it, go in, and come out. This location has a car wash. I typically don't use it, as the rollers produce swirl marks that are noticeable, especially on dark-coloured cars. I'm a hand-wand person who likes getting a workout as my car gets washed. (424)
