How have I NOT left a review for Pete's Pizza before?! ‍ My family and I have been eating at Pete's for YEARS. When we moved away, I judged every pizza place we tried against Pete's, and honestly, nothing came close. When we moved back to the Daytona Beach area a few years ago, Pete's immediately became our go-to for pizza, sandwiches, and pretty much anything else we're craving. Pete and his staff are truly incredible. You can tell they have a genuine passion for their food and, more importantly, that they truly care about the people who walk through their doors. Pete is an absolute gem in this community, and in my opinion, Pete's Pizza is hands-down THE BEST pizza place in Daytona Beach. On this particular visit, my husband and I decided to switch things up a little. We started with the mozzarella sticks, and OH. MY. GOODNESS. The breading was perfect, it stayed right where it belonged instead of flaking off everywhere, the cheese was silky smooth, and the cheese pull literally reached across the table. I didn't even take a picture or video because I was too busy trying to devour them! I had the Italian sandwich, and it absolutely hit the spot. I'm already daydreaming about it and planning my next one. My husband ordered a calzone but asked if they could fry it instead and WOW. The crust was fried to perfection, the cheese was just right, and the flavor was seriously top-notch. We didn't even get pizza this time, which honestly made me a little sad. Back in July I was visiting an establishment in the same shopping center as Pete's Pizza. I figured since it was practically next door, I would try it for lunch. I liked that you can order a slice. I had a slice of pepperoni pizza and I thought it was delicious. The guys working there, I thought were very nice. The inside, if I remember correctly, is small, so they are more conducive for pick up orders. But you could sit down in one of their tables and eat your food. I also came back a couple of times to order a fountain Coke. The cashier teased me a bit because I came back twice for a fountain soda. It's nice to have a little levity. The cups for the soda were a bit small. I enjoy fountain Coke more than in the plastic bottle. If I come back to visit again, I would definitely come back here for lunch. Ordered takeout via phone, easy to order right to the point and didn't let the phone ring. Walked in and immediately felt that NYC local pizzeria vibe, I loved it. A bit worn but it can be attributed to the charm when the food is as good as it is. Got a large pepperoni pizza and garlic knots like nearly every other pizza place on my list to try. The pizza smelled, looked, and tasted great. It was a bit greasy but about as much you would expect from a NY slice. The dough/crust was a little too stiff than I'd like but that's just me being picky. The garlic knots are large and very good. This is one of the first pizza spots on my list that had both good pizza and knots not to mention the sauce. Pete's is definitely a contender for my favorite pizza so far! read more

I've tried to give this place multiple chances because the pizza itself is genuinely good -- especially for a $5 slice. If it were just about the food, I'd have zero complaints. That's honestly the only reason I keep coming back. Unfortunately, the service has been consistently disappointing. There is one female employee in particular whose attitude makes the experience uncomfortable every time. The interactions feel dismissive and unnecessarily rude. I'm not expecting special treatment -- just basic courtesy and professionalism. When you're spending your money somewhere, that shouldn't be too much to ask. What makes this situation even more concerning is that after I left an honest review about my experience, I was told I was trespassed from the establishment. Being banned simply for sharing feedback feels extreme and unprofessional. Reviews are meant to reflect customer experiences -- good or bad -- and banning someone over that raises serious questions about how criticism is handled. It's frustrating because the pizza is good, but the repeated negative service and now being trespassed for expressing my experience makes it hard to support this business moving forward. I hope management reconsiders how customer concerns are addressed, because the food deserves better representation than the service I've received. read more

Yet again, another bad customer service experience at Pete's Pizza. I went in around 11:59 a.m. to order one slice of pizza, cut in half. I stood there for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged, even though I was clearly visible on camera the entire time. When I was finally addressed, the woman behind the counter (name unknown) denied me service. I stayed patient, and Mike, who was actually making pizzas, ended up putting my slice in the oven and completing my transaction. Oddly, the transaction was not done through the cash register, which made the situation even more confusing -- especially since the counter employee didn't assist me at all. This isn't the first time I've had issues with customer service here, and it's disappointing to keep having the same experience. After years of reliability, it's just not the same. It was our go-to for counter slices for decades. Today, the cheese slices were so thin, the few minutes that they threw them in the oven burnt them badly. The 2 sicilian slices were one slice cut in half. They claim that "sometimes the dough doesn't expand". (I've never seen dough shrink to half size and I've been eating sicilian slices for 40 years, including at least 20 years at Petes. Looks like a dying business grasping for survival. I'm not sure if I'll stop in again anytime soon. There's been a steady decline, but today was really bad. read more

Hey, so I went over there a few days ago. I saw my friend working. I ordered some food and paid for it. I had the owner. I was waiting for like 15-20 minutes and I had the owner when I walked back in to see what was going on. I asked him to prove that I paid for it that my friend charged me even though he stood there next to my friend and watched him do it. It was just a very uncomfortable interaction. I have not been back and I definitely do not plan on going back. The food is okay, but I do not like that kind of interaction when it comes to customer service. I am in the hospitality industry. I've been doing it for a very long time and I have never ever come across something like this, and I am not wanting to leave reviews, but this is something that I definitely could not shake off because it was definitely something that bothered me. read more

Pete's is and always will be the pizza I remember in Daytona. It was the first pizza place I tried when I moved here 10 years ago. Pete's is a small place with 6-9 tables. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean. They have a lot more than just pizza there. Unfortunately, I can only attest to the pizza and greek salad since that's the only thing I've ever ordered. When someone asks who has good pizza around here, I suggest Pete's. read more

I'm still looking for a great Italian restaurant that makes an awesome sauce, so I thought I would try this place... I'm still looking. I tried the spaghetti and meatballs with an order of garlic knots and some "pizza fries" for a friend. I liked the meatballs. Big, beefy, some good flavors there. The spaghetti noodles were ok, nothing fancy. The sauce was thin, a bit watery, needed some seasoning. Thin was good though because the garlic knots were buttery and garlicky on the outside, but tough and chewy on the inside. So the sauce was great to dip into like you do a biscotti into coffee to soften the knots up a bit. As for the pizza fries... I don't know what to think about those... basically fries covered in pizza sauce and cheese. My side salad was basic chopped iceberg, I almost suspect out of a bag and not very fresh. The fried chicken was a preformed probably frozen patty which wasn't even warm when I tried it. And, they forgot the dressing with my pick-up order. Kinda sucks when you're traveling and don't have a fridge with any available dressing. I read good things about the pizza, so if someone orders some I might give it a try, but for now, the search for a good Italian sauce continues. read more

While Pete's has good pizza, you have to ask for well done. Don't waste your money on Heros. We ordered 2 whole Italian Specials for $11. They were supposed to have "ham, salami pepperoni, provolone +. They barely had one slice of salami, no peperoni, lots of lettuce. Lot's of bread but not much filling. They have great food and good deliveries service, I have always had great outcome with them and the best sauce ever, however I called them today with a special request which was quite simple and is delicious, and maybe should be on the menu, a spaghetti and meatball calzone, basically an order of spaghetti n meatballs cooked in calzone shell with a little mozzarella, no big deal, them said nope , they won't do it, ok, like really, what's the big deal? I was excited to try Pete's Pizza after reading good reviews. Maybe I went on a bad night? I ordered Pete's Special pizza and was anticipating a typical NY style crust. The crust was so chewy that my jaw was popping and I struggled to finish the first slice. I expected a slice that was crispy on the edge but supple enough under the toppings to be folded when you eat it. My pizza did NOT fold, it was more like breaking. Since i was still hungry, I decided to try another piece. I threw the pizza out that night. I haven't even started describing the taste, or should I say the LACK of taste? The sauce was flavorless. The sausage was bland too. I'm really not a tough critic. I really love pizza, but this was probably the worst I've ever had, and I've lived in 7 different a states. THAT is a lot of different pizza places that I have tried over the years! I also ordered hot wings. I'm not lying, those wings were so tough! It was hard to believe that I was that "lucky" to strikeout with the pizza AND the wings. They seemed rubbery and hard to chew, just like the pizza. I was extremely disappointed. The flavor was okay. The chicken was overlooked, in my opinion. I'm not trying to slam the business, in general. I'm just trying to give a true account of MY experience. Plain and simple. I wish Pete's Pizza nothing but success, but I will not return. No hard feelings, but I wish I had the $28 back that I spent. The food was great, however I had no copy of my order so I don't know if I made an error or they did, I was fairly certain I ordered, among others things, 2 side salads and 2 pieces of cheesecake, I got one of each. It was a delivery via grub hub and the order was done online. I really didn't know how to verify one way or the other, but this isn't the first time I did not get what I ordered. I don't think I will get delivery again, I'll either pick it up and verify or do something else. read more
