Recently, I visited Peterborough Chrysler for an oil change and to have an engine light checked. After waiting 2 hours, I was informed that my vehicle was in need of a new transmission lock up torque converter, along with camshafts, rokers and tappers at a cost of $3700.00. I was also told that there was really no point in doing the oil change on the vehicle, as I may decide to purchase another vehicle instead.
I then took my vehicle to a second qualified mechanic without informing him of the first assessment. He however, completed the oil change and did not see any of the first mechanic's findings. When I presented him with the information from Chrysler's mechanic, he told me that although my vehicle was demonstrating normal wear and tear for a van of its age, he did not feel that Chrysler's service information was accurate.
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at Peterborough Chrysler and am concerned that other patrons may be receiving the same misinformation. read more
