I love mini-golf and have very high mini-golf standards. You might call me a mini-golf snob. The course is well-maintained and there are some interesting obstacles. The place has been around for more than fifty years (the attendant told us that they opened in either '42 or '48 and haven't looked back). It started pouring when we were on the 11th hole and they were nice enough to give us a raincheck. In the literal sense of the word. The only drawback is that the course isn't super challenging. Another one of my favorite spots in Austin. It's BYOB and there's not much else that matters. I may buy a rolling cooler (think suitcase) solely for this course. I may have shot gunned a few beers in the parking lot on a school night.... We always end up playing the easy and hard course, because at under $7 a round, why not? If you're looking for a fantastic cheap date spot in Austin look no further, Peter Pan is great for kids and adults. If you're over 21 and you loved mini golf growing up this is your place!!! It's BYOB and a fantastic first or second date spot as you can keep it casual with libations. Ok what were they smoking when they designed this place, and where can I get some? SUCH a find, and I have no urge to just tee off with constant disregard since they folks who worked here were so cool. You can bring beer, is cheap as balls, they were blasting Dixie Chicks (just like Schlitterbahn...hmmmmm) and despite (or in spite of) the abandoned/ deteriorating amusement park feel, easy to get into the zone. We need to do a yelp thang here. Seriously. Would love to see our presence planted on that blinking yellow light arrow outside. read more

This place is an Austin landmark, and for good reason. It has been a fun spot for us as kids, as preteens on dates, and as parents taking our own kids. The statues are colorful and fun. These same works of art we have seen all our lives have recently undergone some plastic surgery and are looking good in their old age. I was pleased to take a family outing recently and introduce the 8-year-old to the place. She had as much fun as any of us. It was a busy day but luckily there is a 5-strike limit to keep everyone moving along. There is nothing particularly challenging on either course, just enough to make it fun and interesting. Don't forget to bring your cash or you'll enjoy the course from a picnic table. And bring your patience. There are lots of people who want to enjoy Peter Pan! read more

My boyfriend and I were in Austin and this place was right by our hotel. We saw that it was high up instead of your standard mini golf which is ground level. We decided to give it a try! This place is cash only! They have two different courses and you can lay $11 to do both if you wish. The courses are really fun and a bit weird. The artwork and figures are old but it makes for such funny pictures. Mini golf is such a fun time if you want to just kill an hour or two with friends. The man working was very helpful and kind. Apparently this place is BYOB which was cool and different, and many people took advantage of this! The parking was a bit tight but we found a spot. They have overflow in the McDonald's next store. Please note that this is cash only! They do have ATM if needed! I had a fun time here! read more

BYOB mini golf! Need I say more? The golf course itself is nothing exciting, but for $5 or $6 a pop, it's a really nice way to hang out with some friends on a warm Austin evening and enjoy some beers. No glass in your coolers. read more

Do the "easy" course, if you only have time for one set of holes! It's actually a lot more fun, in my opinion - less luck and more ability to control the outcome of your putts. Great spot. read more

This place is great for the fact that it has never changed. Hell I would even bet the place hasn't seen a coat of paint since it was originally built, but don't get me wrong, this in no way takes away from the experience that you will have there, in my opinion it adds to the flavor of the place. Things I love: BYOB makes for a fun cheap date with the girlfriend where we can relax and play some putt putt and crack up at my most awful golf skills. 2 sets of holes to play, it is nice to be able to play a different set each time I go or if I have not had my fill of mini golf after 18 holes there are different ones to play. The fact that the system does not keep my ball after 18 holes, replayability is a huge bonus....most newer courses do not give you the option it just swallows your ball and you are done. And of course price, place is like pocket change for the amount of fun you can have, not alot of places left that pack as much fun into such a low price. Loses one star on Parking alone. Sometimes it can be an absolute nightmare but then again where in Austin is parking not terrible? If you need a fun night out for low amount of dough this is where I would go. It may not be much on the eyes but it is magic for the soul. read more

We stopped out here tonite after dinner so we could enjoy the sunshine just a little bit longer. We decided to play 18 holes, which was a mistake, we should have gone for 36. It's only $2 more but it makes the fun last twice as long. Although it didnt take long to get through the course, we had a good time while we were out there. I'll definitely go back, next time for 36 holes and with a few beers in hand. The only reason I'm not giving it more stars is because the guy behind the counter was on HIS phone the whole time we were at the window, and because the course was traveled so quickly. Imagine, if you will, a place where you can goof around, drink beer, and play mini golf. Even if you haven't ever seen it in your life, you are currently imagining Peter Pan Mini-Golf. This place is awesome. They have two 18 hole courses, and you can play both. Go with friends. Go for an excuse to get out of the house, away from the usual bar scene, and have a few while playing an old-school mini golf course. Most people are very sociable and are there for exactly the same reason as you: The 25 foot statues of the T-Rex. If you go with a big group, and by this I mean more than 5 people, it is probably a good idea to split into two smaller groups. You'll take a little less time getting though the courses, and since the 18th holes don't steal your ball like newer mini golf courses, you can play as long as you want, or until they close. Parking can also be difficult, but that's no excuse not to go. read more

We had a pretty good time, the course is not all that well kept or anything, but again it doesn't matter when it is byob. I LOVE mini golf. It's one of those games that can be casual and competitive at the same time. Great for a small group of friends to hang out and catch up. However, Peter Pan as a whole was disappointing. Sure, come here for historical reasons. It's an iconic Austin location after all. Come take some pictures. But for mini golf, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Even Main Event's Glow in the Dark mini golf is better than this. So why was it disappointing? Where do I even begin. Parking was impossible, even for a Wednesday night. There are spots for 10 cars. The courses were poorly maintained, dirty and full of trash. It's hard to even hit a ball straight. Most of the courses were super easy, par 2 or 3 at most. Several of them were literally just a straight shot, par 1. A group of 4 can easily finish 18 holes less than 30 mins. The bathroom was gross. Neither the toilet nor the sink worked. The dude at the window looked like he hated his job. He didn't even let us pick the clubs with the right length. Lastly, this place attracts a ton of dating couples, especially on first or second dates. You can tell by their conversations and their body languages. What it means is to be ready to WAIT. We were stuck behind two sets of couples. Sometimes, they literally just stood there and forced conversations for a min or two w/o even touching a ball.... oh, and it would take them 10 shots to finish a par 2 -__- read more

This is a cute place but my kids seem to be to small. Took my three and four year old and they had fun but they had no idea how it all works, some people do show up early. It's cheap and right next to food places, they also have drinks and chips for sale. They have tables so u can have a little gathering, it's two diff courses, only thing is the bathroom is kinda icky lol my daughters words. I will take kids again but maybe in two years from now, o good thing is you can BYOB yes bring your own beer! read more

Omg so much fun, but of course I say that cause I always win lol. They just renovated the place and it looks amazing. They have an easy course and a difficult course. It's also b.y.o.b if you're into that. I've seen kids parties there, friends hanging out and even people on dates. The only downside can be parking but that's almost anywhere in Austin now. read more

One of the few spots for Putt-Putt in the city limits of Austin...but a good destination for fun. It is BYOB (No Glass) there are a few corner stores nearby so you don't necessarily have to bring a cooler...you can probably get one of the two courses done in just over an hour with a crowd there. There are multiple, unique photo-ops to show your friends after the fun. The one very minor issue, was that they do not accept cards (debit or credit). They have an ATM which charges like $3.50 to withdraw money, but this day and age many folks don't carry cash too often. read more

I'm not very good at miniature golf. Sometimes I score into the double digits on one hole. I usually lose and I hate losing. I don't use the work hate much, but I'll use it with losing. I often don't have fun when I'm losing. Peter Pan mini-golf takes that edge off a bit, and I still have a good time there even though I know that the 6 year old behind me is going to end up with a better score than I will. The obstacles, such as the giant dinosaur statue, are fun and interesting. Plus I can always say, "I would have gotten a way from that hole with a lower score if it hadn't have been for that meddling Tyrannosaurus Rex!" read more

When I came here over the summer, I ended up repeatedly asking myself... "How is it possible that we are the only ones without a cooler full of beer here?" Actually, you NEED beer to make it more interesting, because hte course is pretty bland. Too easy, too old... beer makes it all better. :-) The place is pretty loose... you just pay $6 CASH only (pain in the butt... what century are we in?) they hand you a club and a ball and cut ya loose... the girls in front of us were bouncing all over the place, not even caring about keeping track of score or what number course they were on. Life changing experience. Simply out of this world. As I was putting countless hole-in-ones I felt like I was flying to the 2nd star to the right all the way to Neverland! Would have had a perfect score if it wasn't for Captain Hook and his crooked crew. Luckily my lost boys got me and we two-putted our way out. Parking was limited, but the overflow was close by. It is cash only, they do have drinks and such and you are allowed to bring your own drinks as well. They have two 18-hole courses, an easier one and a harder one. We played the full easy one and half of the hard one because there were so many people there that we had to wait about 5 minutes between each hole. We had a blast though and I'd recommend it to anyone who has kiddos or wants to go on a date night! read more

Old Peter Pan probably hasn't changed since 'Nam. We rolled up to find out that this fine golfing establishment was cash only, luckily the BMX biker gang lurking and somewhat running the counter said- "Whatever... go ahead and play dude." At first we were surprised to see people walking around with Tall boys of High Life, but apparently old Peter Pan is BYOB (at least when the biker gang is in charge) A couple of the "obstacles" had new holes (i.e. Rabbit hole with augmented exit hole, if you know what I mean!) It looks like people may be up to more than just playing golf with Peter Pans friends. Pack some tall boys, and hit the links. Look out for that biker gang! read more

This place should be protected as a historic landmark. There are not many putt putt places like this left in the world. None in Atlanta where I reside! It has the silly sculptures...the great 90/80s music...and byob! Can't think of one negative. Keep up the good work Peter Pan! I hope you are around for generations to come. read more

I had a good time here, but it definitely isn't one of the better miniature golf places I have been to in the past. My friend and I did the course to the right of the building where you pay for the golf. The guy behind the counter informed us that it was the more challenging course of the two. Cash only, but $6 for 18 holes was actually very reasonable, and they let you pick out which color golf ball you wanted. Additionally they had bottles of water for purchase for $1, which was nice. The theme of the business is obviously Peter Pan, but once you are on the course, it is a little inconsistent. The course we completed did have an awkward looking Tinkerbell, but then there were a bunch of random purple ants and other large decorations including a giant dinosaur. They weren't necessarily bad, but there was no overarching theme. It seemed random. The course itself is not my favorite design. A large number of the holes had the first 1/2 uphill, so hitting too hard or not hard enough could easily send your ball shooting back to the beginning. Also, it wasn't maintained very well. There was a lot of debris at each hole, and the grounds had a lot of weeds. I will say that the barbed wire around the neighboring property didn't add to the ambiance, but I suppose that isn't the fault of this business. On a Sunday afternoon they were crowded enough to show that this place is popular, but not so crowded that there was a wait for each hole. My friend and I were able to move on almost immediately after we completed each hole. The parking lot was a little tight, but there were enough people coming and going that we were able to snag a spot. Overall, miniature golf in general is awesome, so this place would be a fun spot to visit. It is a great activity to do I with kids though I do think they need to spruce up the place a bit. read more

Great place to go with the family. 6 adults, 3 boys, everyone between the ages of 4 and 80 and we all had a blast! The boys loved the cool statues and obstacles for putt-putt! 18 holes was just the right amount for all of us. With the summer sun beaming down on us we were exhausted by the time we finished! Though there were some trees throughout it would've been great to get a bit more shade and maybe some fans with mists to help keep everyone cool! I initially wanted to try the West course for some cool photo ops with the Dinosaur but they said the East course was easier for kids. But even the adults were getting stuck on a few holes lol. Anyways, glad I came by to cross this off my Austin Bucketlist. I'm sure I'll be coming back to try the other side :) read more

So, I am not the best mini-golfer in the world. Actually, I am probably the worst and I usually have a horrible time because I am extremely competitive. At least I felt that way until I went on a field trip at my old job with some kids. We had a blast! I seriously felt like I was in my single digits again and even though my golf club flew and pegged a kid in the leg, it was great. It's BYOB at Peter Pan. It's small and old, but it's fun and has creepy cement characters to distract you with. We went around 11pm and holy bat balls was it hot/humid. I was sweating profusely while putting our 18 holes. It wasn't that I worked up a sweat, it was just so damn hot out. At least I had a beer. Beer can sometimes make things better. So it was the beer and the anus hole that did it for me. Yes, I said anus hole. It's redundant, but if you go and play on the right hand side course, you will see what I mean. read more

It gets busy on weekends, and what better thing to do when waiting in line than admire those creepy statues. The stuff of a young child's nightmare. It's $7 for a course that lasts about an hour. It's cheap and it shows. A few empty beer cans here and there, and one disinterested fella on his phone manning the front. And of course, don't forget this is classic Austin after all. Two courses and BYOB (cans only). The harder/West course borders on frustrating while the easier/East course is often a "hit the ball straight = hole in one" course. It a good place to spend 2-3 hours. During the summer it is full of younger kids running around. This place only takes CASH and checks; $4 to $9. There are two courses to play on with 9 holes each. One course is harder than the other. Bring your own food and beverages. There is not a place to eat here other than a few snacks and most the time it's not even open. Parking is horrible; there is probably on 20 spots. This place needs to be updated with some paint. This place is located need several spots to eat when finished playing. If you're 21+ you can bring a cooler and alcoholic beverages and drag it around as you golf. read more

Parking is horrible. Just horrible. I think they have 8 places on their lot so you need to park illegally at McDonald's or across the street meaning crossing a very dangerous intersection. We decide to go with illegal McD's. We get to the top and see a sign: CASH ONLY. The worker didn't look up and said cash only please. We said we needed to go to bank. 20 minutes later we park and notice a small atm. Why didn't he tell us there was an atm? The one staff isn't a friendly guy by any means. When you work with people, specially lots of families, you should have good customer service. Yi get your cash worth of $6 per course but they need to get with the program.
