The front desk called me while I was checking out from my primary care appointment where I had been referred to wound care not more than five minutes before. I got an appointment right away. When I came into the office a Nurse Practitioner reviewed my entire medical history, medications, etc. I felt like I was being seen as a whole person and not just a wound. Two nurses then met with me to get wound history and to examine and prepare the wound for the doctor. Lidocaine was applied to the wound so I would not feel any discomfort.
