Dr Lee gave a diagnosis that was confirmed by various tests. It was a blocked artery that needed bypass surgery. Throughout this process, my health insurance company kept on issuing denials for various tests and procedures. Dr. Lee personally got on the phone with my insurance and got approval for everything that needed to be done. The surgery required me to spend a few days in hospital. The first one to come and check on me every morning early (before the nursing staff) to see how I was doing was Dr Lee. In addition he gave me his direct personal phone number to contact him with any concerns (when did you last hear of a doctor doing that??!!). His follow through post surgery has been meticulous and I have absolutely no pain in my legs now. Just a terrific result. His office staff are professional, friendly and accomodating. I have called the office multiple times and every single time I'm just directed to the insurance person Elissa. The problem is that she NEVER answers. I have called almost every morning and afternoon, left multiple voicemails, and I have yet to receive a single call back from her. Every time I call I'm told she's "out of the office" and to leave her a voicemail. I have even gone into the office IN PERSON trying to get some kind of answer. She stays in her office and has the ladies at the front tell me to wait for her, but somehow always has an excuse. At this point, it honestly feels like I'm being avoided. What makes it even more frustrating is that it sounds like my aunt is not the only patient having this issue. If you are responsible for handling authorizations, you should actually be available to communicate with patients and, more importantly, MAKE SURE THE AUTHORIZATION IS EVEN SENT TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I understand that insurance can take time, but waiting four months only to find out that the authorization was never even submitted is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to repeatedly call, leave voicemails, and physically show up just to get someone to do their job. Very disappointed and extremely frustrated with the lack of communication and accountability from her.
