Please, before you go to this doctor, read this review and others on this page. I should have listened to the other reviews, but I thought, no doctor is perfect, maybe it's just the people who he robbed the wrong way. NO, this doctor is a terrible person, and will cause you to have unnecessary surgery.
I went to this doctor because I have some internal hemorrhoids, and some other issues. About a month before my visit to Dr. Cacdac I had IRC (Infrared Coagulation) performed by a different doctor, and it worked very well. However, the doctor who performed that procedure was very, very old, his hands were shaking, and he couldn't stand up. Basically, I just didn't want to take a chance that his hand will slip and he will cause me an injury or something, though the procedure that he did worked excellently.
So I decided to visit Dr. Cacdac because he also advertised that he does IRC, and I needed a second treatment to finish the procedure. From the moment Dr. Cacdac walked into the room, it was clear that his goal was to sell me an extremely painful and expensive surgery. He told me that my hemorrhoids could not be treated with IRC, and I must get hemorrhoidectomy. When I asked him why IRC would not work, he told me that IRC is not for hemorrhoids like these, and it would take at least 20 visits to fix this problem. When I pointed out to him that I used to have regular bleeding, and after previous round of IRC most of my problems went away and bleeding stopped completely, he told me that it must be just a fluke, do to my other doctor doing an exam and dilating that area, and that the IRC procedure couldn't have possibly worked because it just generally doesn't work. Well, it worked for me, for 2 months now, I just need a followup treatment.
While he was telling me that the IRC procedure generally don't work because, and I quote: "it coagulates the protein inside the hemorrhoid when you shoot the laser at the hemorrhoid, making it shrink a little." When I told him that I heard that IRC works by cutting off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid by destroying the tiny feeder veins above the hemorrhoid, he told me that I heard wrong, and that's absolutely not how it works. Go ahead, look it up, see who's right.
My next question, which I didn't even get to ask because it was clear that Dr. Cacdac wasn't interested to continue any kind of conversation unless I was interested in his surgery, would have been: "If you think IRC doesn't work for hemorrhoids in general, and it's ONLY indicated for use on hemorrhoids, why do you even have the machine in your office?"
Only 2 conclusions can be reached from the above described conversation. Either Dr. Cacdac doesn't know how the IRC procedure works, which is unlikely because he owns the machine, or he was blatantly lying to me in order to pressure me into a more pricy and much, much more painful procedure.
Unsatisfied with my reluctance to do a surgery that requires 30-40 day recovery time (which Dr. Cacdac dismissed as no big deal) he offered to write me a script for some "conservative treatment creams" and ran out of the room. 5 min later the nurse gave me the 2 scripts. I asked her to tell me what these prescriptions are for, and if there are any directions. She had no idea, shrugged her shoulders and walked away.
Please, please, do not go to this doctor. This doctor is the reason I am so apprehensive about going to doctors. If I can't find another doctor, I will go to my original doctor, he might be at heavens doorstep, but at least he is honest.
I sincerely hope there is a special place in hell for doctors who offer unnecessary procedures to their poor patients just to make money out of human misery. read more
