BUYER BEWARE - THIS VENDOR IS SUSPICIOUS…read more We booked this Karaoke DJ in MAY of 2015 for an event in SEPTEMBER of 2015. We paid a deposit of $200 through paypal Today - 10 days before the event - the DJ cancelled. He emailed to say "Oh no! I am not available on the 5th. I thought this was for the 6th!? Please give me an address to send the deposit back to you. I am very sorry for the confusion!" (direct quote from email) And then when we pursued him for the deposit - he refused to return it. Again - we booked him for a WEDDING event - we booked him THREE MONTHS in advance - we paid a TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR DEPOSIT. And then he cancelled 10 days before - and REFUSED to return our deposit. This is how we found out he was cancelling: I emailed him last night to confirm the booking and ask where he wanted me to send the remainder of his fee. He responded with the above quote (and yell all of the emails are going to paypal and to the better business bureau) saying he is not available on the date we secured THREE MONTHS AGO. So I freaked out and began calling and emailing him frantically trying to find out what is going on. (Again, note, this is for our wedding and we have 150 people coming. This is our Karaoke rehearsal dinner.) Sean would not answer his phone. He actually emailed to say "Stop calling me." In the meantime, I contacted our wedding planner and told her to find a karaoke DJ ASAP. She did, and because the event is only 10 days away - we had to pay in full up front. The new DJ is $895. (Sean was supposed to be $450 total). So then I am emailing with Sean saying "please contact me - please return our deposit." And then suddenly (FIVE hours after cancelling) he says he "may have a replacement - his friend who will use his equipment." But it's too late - we already found and paid for a last minute save. I just ask for my deposit back. And Sean then says "oh well I offered you a replacement in 10 minutes so I'm keeping your deposit." NOTE: 5 hours is not 10 minutes. And when you CANCEL and say "Ill send your deposit back" that kinda means you're cancelling. This guy is totally shady and fraudulent and we are working to have him kicked off thumbtack.com, and to be marked as a fraudulent vendor on paypal. BUYER BEWARE - this is a potentially FRAUDULENT VENDOR. I CAN NOT WARN YOU STRONGLY ENOUGH: BUYER BEWARE.

He played really odd and not great music as people were coming into our wedding reception. With all the great music choices available, this was strange elevator-like music that was really awful. Although I'm sure he has a great sense of humor as other reviewers have noted, I did not appreciate being referred to as Good Golly Miss Molly at my daughters wedding.

However, after a few hiccups & an explanation of our music preference, PDX DJs switched Jesse (also known as DJ Good Things) to be our DJ for the wedding. Lexie & I had the ability to meet with Jesse via Zoom to go over what we needed the day of the wedding in terms of processional, recessional, first dance, and so on. But the music started and it twas good. The band is a group of very experienced musicians and they obviously play together frequently as they are very good. The singers come up and sing to the live music and that is the same as at all other Karaoke places - some are great, some are okay, and some should sit down! NO - They are welcome to sing. Thats what they came to do. And that is what makes it what it is. They had a nice selection of beverages, and munchies to enjoy at reasonable prices, whilst you are listening to the music. My good friend sang a song, "Sweet Transvestite," which was very good and well received by the crowd. So even though we didn't plan on staying long, we closed the place and didn't get home til very late. But it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed every minute.

There are 5 or 6 of them. Sometimes you are up on a stage with them, sometimes there is no stage, They have books listing their songs as well as a sheet with recently added stuff. They play over 600 songs. 600 songs! That's amazing! There are lyrics sheets (instead of screens) so I find it best to pick songs I know really well. I think the musicians may change or they have occasional stand-ins for the regulars. Sometimes the know the songs better than others. But generally they do a damn fine job with every song they play. They will even sing background for you! If you are a karaoke fan, check these guys out and take the plunge! If not, go watch your friends have at it. A really fun evening every time!
